Love this place!! It's very clean inside, staff is super friendly and the overall feel is very cozy and family oriented. The guac is amazing too. Only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because the decor inside is very simple and a little cheap looking. I'll forgive them for that, though, because they make it up in the food!!!

Pros: good prices, portion sizes and good flavor. Cons: service is on the slower side, wasn't as spicy as I would have liked it to be

When in with my bro for our usual and the service this last time was horrible. She paid more attention to either her friends and/or family then us trying to order.

This place is bland, blah, and boring! My boyfriend and I went in on a rainy Saturday. Nobody was there. The place looks CLEAN and that's the only props they get. Their veggie burrito was SUPER bland even with all the ingredients they put in there (beans, rice, veggies, etc) and my boyfriend's Carne asada burrito was falling apart and dripping from all the grease. The guy behind the counter was super friendly but the chef was SUPER MEAN and CRABBY! Wth, dude. We waited for like 15 minutes for our food and while waiting the place started to filling up and the line grew longer. One counter guy, one chef, and oh yeah! The other chef lady who was watching the crowd grow while she sat and ate her food. I'm assuming she was on break. But I've worked in the foo industry too. Even if you're on break and the place fills up, you get up and help out! Pretty ridiculous... Anyways, this place sucks. Go the extra distance and hit up El Taco next door.

Great food and great service. I had the San Diego burrito which had fries inside... It was really good and really filling. I also love a place that gives you free chips and salsa when you dine in. Plenty of variety on the menu for vegetarians as well. Have yet to try the juices.

As a central avenue resident, I was excited to see yet another restaurant enter the already bountiful market. I was skeptical at first- since el taco riendo is right next door, I figured pico de gallo was destined to fail. However, my boyfriend and I actually preferred pico to its larger, brighter competitor. It makes sense to compare the two in turn. El taco riendo's service has been noticeably lacking lately. At pico, however, we were greeted, served, and thanked by a super friendly staff. Their guacamole is bounds better than riendo's. Plus, at pico you actually get a side with your quesadilla/taco/burrito, whereas taco riendo charges extra for sides. My boyfriend claims the steak burrito at pico was better than any of the burritos he has had next door. We shared an orange carrot juice, which was fresh and tasty (though overpriced). Overall, we would be inclined to choose pico over taco riendo next time we crave Mexican food. All in all,

If you like Central Ave, you'll love this place. It's in the old El Taco Riendo location (which moved to a larger location next door), right next to a lot of other good restaurants. Staff is super friendly and want a cool vibe where you're happy. Not a huge fan of the chips. Haven't tried the juices. The foods is very good-- first time I've tried tinga, based on staff recommendation, and I've already gotten it again. Great stuff.

We were going to Taco Riendo and saw the sign for $5 burritos and decided to give it a try. I had the barbacoa burrito. It was really fresh and the meat was delicious. i saw that they have Hoagies as well which I will be trying next time. I defiantly recommend this place.

So yummy. I ordered this through BiteSquad with my sister, her roommate and her boyfriend and it was so good. Happy to support a small, local business. Their tacos with steak are fantastic! Highly recommended.

Fantastic tacos! Carnitas and Steak tacos were delicious. Chicken burrito was very good. Will definitely be back!

Everything was very fresh! The fish was pan fried for the tacos. Much much better than deep fried! The guacamole could use more spice but was freshly made. Other places may want to take a hint and offer fresh juice as well! Other than some minor personal opinions on the local taco joint scene, for a newly opened place I will certainly return! Great staff too! Music was good especially for hipsters.

I love this place. Very flavorful, authentic taste, decent portions, and decently priced. Their tacos are authentic and full of flavor. The burritos are huge, and remind me of back home (CA). Awesome little place.

Still trying to figure this place out. We went on a Monday night and split the fish tacos and the veggie platter. The fish tacos were okay (not bad, but not full of flavor). They had to substitute these fried potato things on the veggie platter for some regular veggie tacos--we were in love! Lots of mushrooms and they tasted so fresh. Later in the week we were still thinking about the veggie tacos, so we decided to go again. This time we were completely underwhelmed. The mushrooms had been replaced by a bunch of beans and pico de gallo (there were a couple of mushrooms). All we could taste was bean...and salt. Different cooks on the nights we were there. Hoping the mushroom tacos come back.

I've tried a couple of items so far: mulas were good and not something I've seen elsewhere. Filling was typical steaks, beans, etc, but the dough was thick, more like a griddle cake thingy. What really sold me were the chicken enchiladas which come with a vibrant red crimson sauce that's fresh and has a good spice kick to it. The freshly squeezed juices, if you go with that, are cheaper than you'd pay at places that specialize in just that, but I'll probably be too full from getting those enchiladas again to have any room to try them. Oh, and they put a little mango in their pic de gallo: I'm a fan.

Found this place through Groupon. With so many similar places to try on Central Ave, it probably would've taken us a good year or so to go without the little extra motivation from the deal. Pico de Gallo is outstanding. My wife had the chicken quesadilla and I had a barbacoa burrito. The ingredients were very fresh and everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly and while it looks like they're still getting their feed under them, it appears that it will be successful long-term. The fresh juices are worth the stop on their own. I've had some other friends recommend Pico as well.. definitely worth a try.

We had a double date here on a groupon. The food was so superb! It's a family owned place and the people are super nice, patient helpful. My husband has a new favorite fish taco place, he often tries fish tacos when we are out because they are kinda his go-to item. The rest of us had pork, steak and vegetarian tacos. SO DARN GOOD! Oh my goodness, seriously, I hope ya'll try this place! We actually bought another groupon the next day to take our kids there.

This restaurant is very good. Amazingly fresh ingredients. I had a steak burrito and it was very good. The steak was seasoned well and of high quality. The burrito was simple, but what struck me was how fresh it tasted. And during lunch it is $5, quite a good deal. They also make smoothies and juices here. I did not try, but I watched them make one and I can say I will try next time. Menu is simple. Prices are good. I will definitely come back to try more!

This place is great! The inside is decently decorated and reasonably clean, especially compared to a lot of the other places on Central Ave in NE. I went with my husband, he had steak tacos and I had the chicken tacos. DELICIOUS! He wouldn't share his with me so I assume they were good, and my chicken tasted so fresh and juicy it was great. The guacamole is also to die for! Some of the best guac I've ever had. We will absolutely go back for lunch all the time (no alcohol--bummer!) and we are so excited that another tasty place like this opened up near our house.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
