Excellent flavors that are comparable to places in California. Kung fu tea and another milk tea place, are the only two places I venture. I love how you can customize your drink's sweetness and ice content (the less the ice, the more the tea ;) in my opinion). My two go-to drinks are: white gourd green tea with herbal jelly and golden oolong milk tea with pearls. I customize mine so it's less sweet but I love how both teas allow you to truly taste the tea in the drink. Most places are afraid of the bitterness from green teas or the "golden" taste oolong can give so I'm happy these shine through.

There are many Kung Fu Teas back in Chicago. However, we happen to be roaming the area and found this spot! I never really LOVED Kung Fu Tea, but I never thought it was bad either. The shop is SMALL. If you wanted to study here, this is a no go. You might as well U-turn and go to Sencha or Chatime for study space. The staff was not knowledgeable at all with their drinks. I even asked how long they've been here for, and they said a year! You still haven't trained your staff? The drinks were mediocre, and I felt as though the staff was confused on what to do since our order was large. My drink was actually not that bad, however, I tried some of the other drinks and they were not up to par. If you want boba, I guess you could come here. However, it's not all that.

I'm going to be honest, the tea here is not all that great but the bubbles are good. The nala jelly leaves a bitter taste, which kind of ruins your drink. the strawberry lemon tasted sour. Out of the 5 drinks we got, I think I liked 1 of them. The bubbles are good here! They definitely don't have as many option as the other competitive bubble tea stores around here though. Staff is all new so they don't really know how to describe or tell you about the menu. It's a very small store kind of hidden.

One of the chain bubble tea place from Taiwan. More authentic bubble tea than another bubble tea place on same street and they use galactose free milk to make milk tea.

I love, love, love boba. I am addicted. Prior to this store opening, I was most definitely a regular at Chatime, but I was excited to see a new store coming. Living in California for a short amount of time, it's hard for me to give this store 5 stars because I feel that many of their drinks can improve. Although their boba seems to be perfected (unless you show up right when the store opens, which I've experienced bland boba about twice in this situation), their milk tea drinks could use improvement. I personally think their original milk tea tastes a little odd and almond milk tea is also one of my most favorite drink at other boba stores, but I wasn't at all impressed by theirs. It seemed very thick and the milk has a weird aftertaste to it. I try to attempt different drinks here and there so I can get a better idea and taste range of all their drinks. I tried the oreo milk tea once and thought it'd be more like an oreo slushi, but it was literally milk tea with ground up oreo chunks in it that ended up settling immediately after I received the drink. The drinks that I have most been impressed with are oolong milk tea with added grass jelly and boba, white gourd, or honey green tea, the latter two being more refreshing on a hot, summer day. Although the drinks aren't amazing, they are probably the closest to authentic boba in Minnesota. I still miss boba from California though.

nice bobba spot near UMN. Small spot, entrance is connected to BK entrance. Get a hot milk tea or coconut milk tea w/regular sugar. You won't regret it on a cold day.

First time I've had Kung fu tea was in Las Vegas and was stoked when I heard there's one here in MN! Awesome! It's conveniently located in a small strip mall near dinky town so parking was no issue. The tea shop is VERY tiny, no where really to sit and chat or work on homework, etc. More of a grab and go place. The menu is awesome, authentic Taiwanese bubble tea! I order the Kung fu milk tea with pearls and what's cool is you can adjust your preference of sugar level! This place has the best tapioca pearls - chewy, sweet and not gross! Their pearls are always fresh! Customer service totally lacking - staff is not the friend list or happiest. They don't greet you and I didn't like it how they don't read the order back to ensure accuracy. They seemed a tad snobby and disinterested in their customers. Product is great but customer service needs to change that's why they get 4 stars.

Hi ya! Strike, punch, and a kick! No really when you stop into this new bubble tea place that's what you get (in the names that is). Thumbs up: -Variety of flavors -Level up on your sugar rush or ask for less ice -Competitively priced -Nice local owners -Punch card, oh yeah, rack up the frequent drinks and get a free drink -Um cute name -Lactose free options Thumbs down: -It's hot in there, the times I have visited the place it's hot and humid, no fun. -Small space, not much space to chill and sip your drink. So grab it and go. -Parking can be tricky in the heart of the U of M. Tip: start with less sugar or else it's pretty sweet. Work your way up from there.

Finally a good boba place has opened in Minnesota. As a California transplant...I have been spoiled by a huge and delicious selection of boba locations. Tea Garden, Publika, Chatime and other various Asian restaurants that serve boba have failed to satisfy my cravings. Move over Tea Garden, a new boba king is in town. There's absolutely no reason to go to Tea Garden, except if you're too lazy to walk a couple more blocks to Kung Fu Tea. The location is somewhat small and can get a little crowded once the word spreads that a new boba location have come to take over Minnesota. Boba here is expensive due to the lack of competition that would naturally help drive prices down. I'm missing the places in California with $1.00 or $1.50 boba milk teas. O well, it is what it is. I probably only plan on coming once a month at most. I ordered the Red Wow with less sugar (70%), which contains red bean, boba, and milk tea. The boba was in its absolute perfect chewiness. Not too hard nor too soft. The milk tea was quite good as well, very much to my liking. With that said, next time (tomorrow), I'll be ordering a Large Size and this time with normal amount of sugar. I have a semi-sweet tooth, and I felt less sugar wasn't fulfilling my sugar cravings. Kung Fu Tea originated in Taiwan and has quickly expanded to the U.S.. Kung Fu Tea has largely been located on the East Coast (New York), but have quickly expanded to California, Texas and now to Minneapolis. Update Day 2: I went in with some friends and I wanted to try the almond milk tea with boba, but unfortunately they said they don't have the ingredients right now. I took away a star. It was a little disappointing, but I decided to go for the Red Wow again but this time with regular amount of sugar. While it was slightly sweeter than yesterday's, it wasn't to my liking. It was still good though, and I guess it's healthier. I'm hoping they have almond milk tea sometime in the near future, until then, I'll be going back everyday until their BOGO deal is gone. Just come here and satisfy your cravings and more!! After a year of being boba free, I think it's time to get back into it. P.S. It's soda not pop. It's boba not bubble tea or pearl milk tea.

Being in MN, I was pleasantly surprised to have finally found an authentic bubble tea shop. (This place is a popular chain on the East Coast) Although the shop is quite small, it provides you with delicious, authentic, lactose free, bubble tea! The preparation is quick and the staff are very kind. It was refreshing to have walked into a bubble tea shop and hear Chinese around me. They have a cute set-up, but not much space, so it's definitely a "order, pick-up, leave" kinda of deal. Luckily, they have convenient parking and it's located near the heart of Dinky Town.

Definitely not a place to hang out with friends and chat. however, if you're looking for a "grab and go" their bubble tea is closest to the authentic bubble tea you can get in Minnesota. their very berry green tea and lychee punch (there were a few others that fall into this category) had real berry chunks and lychee in there. NOT syrup . I really enjoy drinks with fruit chunks in them but that might not be everyone's thing

I was obsessed with the Oolong Milk Tea when Publika first opened with ChaiTime drinks, and now I am super obsessed with the Taro slush from this place. It is super creamy and super taro-y. It pretty much feels like you are sipping/slurping slightly melted Taro ice cream through a straw! I also really liked their tea options - the citron tea or even just the basic kungfu green tea is great there! I admit that I do prefer relatively strong tea that leaves an earthy after taste in your mouth, and this place does just that! Their tea is super fragrant too! However, I would say that I like Chai Time's pearls more - they are slight bigger and chewier. Other than that, I never crave for Chai Time anymore! It's too bad that this is a bit far for me now since I have moved away from campus, but there were a couple times I made the 15 minutes drive just to get a drink from here. Does anyone go to Tea Garden anymore? (Except that it's more spacious to study)

OMGGGGG! I finally found a place in MN that makes their bubble tea with real fruit junks! I LOVE this place, but it's a bit small. You wouldn't be able to sit and study here or anything. Their bubble tea is super good, but I'm still skeptical about how clean this place is.

It's a really small shop, but it serves the best damn milk tea tapioca in Minneapolis. People may be like "but chatime, tea garden, publika..." Breh...kill that noise. Those places don't even come closeeeeee. I'm lactose intolerant, but I weather the storm for a large chalice of that goodness. I spent all summer going to the Kung Fu Tea in Houston, and I was ecstatic that one opened right near my place in Minneapolis. To be fair, the tapioca pearls/boba in Houston were a lot softer and tasted more fresh. I had to knock off a star for consistency. Sometimes their boba is on point, sometimes. Their milk tea fluctuates from being really good to too milky. Bottom line, Kung Fu Tea for dank dranks.

This place has great bubble tea, but it's such a small place. There's usually 2 people working at max- and it also slows down the ordering process a bit... The bubble teas are great, just a bit of a wait. At least 5 minutes, don't come here, ( don't get bubble tea) if you're in a hurry.

LOVE that we have another decent boba option in the area! Much better than Tea Garden but I do wish they had a bigger area so you can chill and hangout with friends. This is more of a order and go type place they have set up here. They do have a punch card, and a free small parking lot. I'm glad they opened up a branch here in MPLS!

Rich, tasty and smooth milk tea. And wow milk is amazing too. Boba are soaked in honey, they're very chewy. All the citrus juicy they put in the drinks are fresh squeeze.

I love Kung Fu! I think it's way better than Tea garden and Cha Time. The only con is the wait is long. They seem to take awhile to make one drink. But I think it's worth the wait. I LOVE the oolong milk tea and KF green milk tea. Boba's are to die for. Soaked in honey!!!. MMMMMM

One of must go in Minneapolis. I'm so obsessed with their Grapefruit/ Orange Yogurt and TARO Slush! Definitely try if you like yogurt! Taro slush has an amazing flavor other than somewhere else! Creamy taro taste~ you'll never forget that flavor. Also, strongly recommend Red WOW, Mango Green tea and Oreo milk tea!!!

I'm a California transplant, like Jonathan L., but I have a completely different review. Like most other boba shops that I've been to so far in my short couple months in the Twin Cities, the boba drinks are expensive. I cannot justify spending almost $5 on a regular milk tea with boba, especially when the milk tea had zero taste of tea. It also had a really odd chemical-like aftertaste that I couldn't shake off. I ordered it with 50% less sugar, but that really should not add a weird taste to the drink. Had to try this new place because I'm a huge boba fan, but it was not worth my energy and my money.

This is one of the other bubble tea places I've been to so far and would prefer over Tea Garden. It's a small place but I really like it here. Selection isn't large and fanciful, but it's adequate enough for me. Always get the milk tea :) Chatime and Kungfutea are really similar to bubble tea places back home for me (California). I hate that it's all the way near the U though -_- What makes this place stand out for me though is their boba! It's different because they soak it in something sweet (I'd guess honey but I don't know for sure) and it's really takes the punch :)

I have tried many kung fu tea shop at New York City but it wasn't good as the one in Minneapolis. The bubble is tender and the drink is not too too sweet. It's a small place, but people are kind and friendly. Also they pass out the stamp card which you buy 10 drink get one free. Big cup or small cup no matter. Strongly recommend Kung fu tea to people who likes bubble tea. :P
