I don't care for Viet food too much, had it a lot growing up. However, when I or my family craves for it we come here. Beats the other local places with its authenticity, atmosphere, and even though it gets crazy busy the food is consistent. The ol lowdown: Thumbs up: -good viet food -Variety of menu from drinks, food, baked goods, and desserts. From my understanding lots is made in house -you get what you pay for -family owned and operated, it adds to the whole equation and experience -OK c.s. don't expect to come here for fabulous service, you know that going in your experience will be golden Thumbs down: -their menu changes or there aren't things on there when it says, late updates -OK c.s. -when it's busy expect a long wait for drinks, like bobas Family joint will be back!

Food is great but the service sucks. I've been here numerous of times and I feel like every time I come here, my friends and I always end up waiting for up to 40 minutes to an hour! 10-15 minutes of a wait just to place an order for food. & 30-40 minutes wait time to be served. I feel like the waitresses and waiters neglects their customers, especially if you're sitting in the back of the building. They don't even come by to tell you how long of the wait is left, or refill your cup of water after a long wait. I'm not saying that this expected but to make your customer feel like they're being ignored really is one of the most irritating feelings when at a restaurant. Please, get your act together staffs of Kim Anh! FOOD NOTES: -Bun Bo Hue: Love it. I usually like to add Siracha & hoisin for some extra flavor -Pho: Love it. Broth is delicious. -Spring Rolls: Decent size. Spring roll & sauce is good. OTHER: -Your customer service sucks (sorry just had to reiterate it, AGAIN.)

Unique menu but I went simple with the Sweet N Sour chicken and spring rolls. I was shocked it was $16. Then more shocked that there were 9 pieces of chicken. Spring rolls were not all that good. Chicken was good quality but too much bread with the taste of old oil. $11 for the chicken was way overpriced. More like $7 tops.

Horrible service. I was seated in a cold section back of the restaurant. Less than 30seconds from being sat I get told to put an order in. We haven't even opened our menus. Granted it was busy, the server rolled her eyes and walked away. A few minutes later she came and slammed waters on the table and and asked if we were ready yet. we asked for an appetizer to start and told her we'd be ready when she came back. She fussed and walked away. We asked a different server if we could move to a warmer spot because we were under a vent( there were four open tables just dirty) Server looked at me and said "no" and walked away. We were willing to wait. I've been there many times and the service was always bad but today was unacceptable. Even with poor service I still leave 20-30% tip because I'm in the service industry as well. This time was my last. Food here was never good enough to keep me going back I just go for convenience. Sorry guys you are the worst Vietnamese restaurant in mn.

Poor customer service! Host squeezed us into a very crammed corner and gave us a very wobbly table. When we asked the waitress for a booth, she denied us and said that they're only for bigger groups, although there were two groups of twosomes on each side of us who got booths. And as we ate, we looked around.... Yep! Empty booths everywhere. Waitress also forgot our bubble tea order, but we were so displeased already, we let it go. We'll keep or money, thanks. She also never came back to refill our water. Food was mediocre, small portions. My man got the bumble hue, which he finished in like two bites. I got the rice platter and to my disappointment, they gave very little pork skin and egg custard. Spring rolls hardly had any meat. Go somewhere else if you want a bigger bang for your buck.

Been here few times the banh mi sandwiches have barely and meat and are next to nothing and I was told this coffee was a full one but it's about 3/4 full only I had about two sips and the coffee was gone for about $4

I used to love this place. But one incident ruined it for me and will never come back... ...MY WIFE FOUND A SHEET ROCK SCREW in her Bun Rieu soup. The same soup we were feeding my 1 year old daughter...My wife was almost done with it, feels something hard in her mouth, and pulls out a 2 inch black sheet rock screw. We complain, she brings the screw back to cooks, and she comps just that one bowl. Not the whole meal. One bowl. I'm usually ok hair and stuff cuz shit happens...but my wife or baby could have seriously got injured. I can't go back. Forever uncleeeeeeeean.

Very bad service. Foods are not clean at all.

I love the food here, but the service is terrible. They don't serve people in order and take forever. But again, lucky the food is good is why I keep coming back. Food is what matters but seriously, hire better servers or learn to service your customers better.

The food is ok. Okay enough for me to come back, but the service is just terrible. My sister and i went there and they were not busy. We were sat down first, but some tables that came after us were serviced before us. Not only that, they don't stay alert on things like people needing refills, etc. I like the food, but please better your service.

I like this place for its food and proximity to where I work. Some of the best Pho I've had in town. And that's backed up by my friend who is Hmong. I've had the beef and meat ball and chicken Pho and both of them are excellent. I was chastised by my friend that Pho is not made with chicken, always beef. But I found the chicken to very good. I've also had their egg rolls and spring rolls which are good, I wouldn't say great. I've also had their fried rice, C1. Shredded pork, pork chop and egg, now this was excellent, not oily at all, and a huge serving too, made two meals. It makes me hungry just writing about the place. I can't wait to try their Banh Mi, fried dumplings, and the rest of the menu. My only complaint would be replace the menus, they are old and ratty. They look dirty and are dog eared.

Food is delicious and if you can get there early enough, the deli selection is great! I didn't rank this place 5 stars because the service is so/so. There is never enough staff during the busier lunch/dinner hours and I wish that they were more considerate of customer's time with phone orders. I've probably taken out more than I have eaten in and the food is never ready especially the banh mi sandwiches. Also, I not a fan of the older men who are usually sitting in the front of the restaurant drinking coffee and gawking at the women who walk in... it's super creepy and gross. This place is pretty small and unless you're seated in the back, everyone sees your business from the moment you park in the lot to the moment you pay the tab.

Been wanting to try this place for a while. Wanted to try it more than once before I made my review. I'm a Vietnamese junkie and know my way around the kitchen courtesy my Vietnamese mother in law. Sure there's the staple Vietnamese restaurants in Minneapolis and Saint Paul that really makes this state shine. But I've been on the search for something comparable on the north side. One thing I've struggled with in Minnesota when it comes to yelp is Minnesota's taste palate. Don't get me wrong, I love my family's tough German iron range heritage but when it comes to food, their taste buds (for the most part) are pretty bland. So let's keep this short. Been to dozens and dozens of Vietnamese restaurants throughout the state courtesy my Vietnamese fiance and family. I found my favorite pho restaurant (see reviews) and although theirs is good, it's not what stands out for me. Nor is their bun bo hue. But boy oh boy, I finally found my banh mi restaurant of choice. It absolutely blows every other restaurant out of the water, and I always get banh mi, regardless what else I order. Only word of caution, they sell out fast (good sign). So don't expect it for dinner. Call ahead and make sure they're there. If they are, buy as many as possible. Reheat in oven and for God's sake get the pork.

I'm pretty sure this is there old address. They moved across the way so stop by there! They gave good pho, bun mi, and boba tea. Don't further to grab some desserts and coffee on the way out.

I have a huge soft spot for this place. It's very close to my bf's so it's very convenient for whenever we're in BP. When we first discovered it, I came as often as 3 times a week (I'm not being dramatic). And we've only ordered a select few items off of the menu: pho, banh mi, spring rolls, and bubble tea. I mean, what else would you want? The restaurant is run by from what appears to be a Vietnamese family. Service is always wonderful. It does slow down a bit when the place is packed. The best part is that you know they are always putting their best effort forth to make it a great experience for you. The food... oh my. I am by no means a pho connoisseur, but I must say that the pho here is delicious and never disappointing. Note: if you asked me to pick my favorite pho place in MN, I couldn't give you answer because unless it's just flat out bad pho, I love it all. The banh mi is very impressive for a place in Brooklyn Park. The bread that they use is by far the best bread I have ever had in a banh mi sandwich. It's crispy on the outside and unbelievably soft on the inside. The spring rolls are good as well. I like that the mint leaves are chopped up within the spring roll versus the whole leaf just being placed (I'm not a fan of mint leaves but I'll eat them. The taste is generally too strong in my opinion) so the taste isn't overwhelming. As for the bubble tea, we've only ordered taro flavor and it is superb! It makes me all giddy because it's so satisfying. Also, they have $5 large bowls of pho on Wednesdays 4-7pm! A real deal. Besides maybe being a tad bit too small at times, it deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Service, food, atmosphere are all wins in my book. This place is a true hidden gem in Brooklyn Park. It just makes me very, very happy.

Everytime I want a Vietnamese dish, I always come here with a friend because it's close to my house. What I don't get about myself is why do I always order 'pho' when I know I always headache afterward. Seriously i always do that to myself. Anyways, this place is a small, it has a small tv, and some deserts. I really like their avocado smoothie though, something you give a should try. Staff is pretty nice and quick service. Bathroom is kinda spooky because it's located in the way back room. Do not go alone!

I used to love this place. the more I went the poorer the service became Especially after I called them out on charging tip to my bill without me knowing thus I usually added more. Unable to find a good Asian meal with DECENT service. And I'm Asian. Apparently it's too much to ask for --let alone expecting sanitary utensils and tables. SUMMARY: Be wary of eating here. Service is mediocre at best. They automatically ADD TIP to Your Bill !!!! DETAILS: The cashier was the waitress and also the buser. She was more concerned about clearing tables than taking my order. It appears she didn't wash her hands after she bused the table before getting my water and side of veggie for my Pho. Her greasy finger prints were imprinted on my water glass. My usual Combination Pho special was served with meatballs that had dry crusted outer edges. I mentioned it to one of the chef who was passing by, only to be told it's okay and that it was the meatball on the top of the boiling pot. Which then...the second chef standing by also inquired what the issue was. He too insisted it was okay and edible. And did nothing about it. Was it that insanely hard to replace the meatballs?? Like seriously, I CAN'T. Maybe YOU can.

Best seafood pho I've ever had. Squid, crab and fish balls. Extra fish balls!! Paired with a coke. The only downside is they're closed on Tuesday which is when I seem to want it the most.

I'm never disappointed at Kim Anh. It's my go to for quick lunches with friends or Sunday brunch. No matter what mood I'm in, there's always something that satisfies my cravings; whether it be the bun no hue, pho, or the korean beef rice platter. I am definitely a kim anh regular!!!

Egg rolls, delicious... not too mammoth sized and not too small either. My husband and I tried the meatloaf sandwich and chicken sandwich - both were great! We both liked the chicken better because the meatloaf looks like white meat cold cuts, not the thick cuts of dark meatloaf that we've seen elsewhere. My chicken sandwich had erroneous bones which I just had to fish out, but the chicken definitely had more flavor and tasted better. Definitely going back... especially since it's so close to us in Brooklyn Park!

So it occurred to me the other day that I have somehow made it to this point in my life without having tried banh mi. It seems like all the cool kids are eating about banh mi and raving about who has the best/most authentic so I decided I better find out what all the fuss was about. I chose Kim Anh to lose my banh mi virginity based on two reason, convenience of location and positive reviews. As others have mentioned, Kim Anh is a tiny spot in a Brooklyn Park strip mall (gasp! how could there possibly be anything good in a strip mall?!). There are maybe 5 or 6 tables though the place was mostly empty when I went in around 11:00 AM on a Saturday. Some kind soul has posted pictures of their menu here on Yelp so I already knew what I was going in for. I ordered the banh mi special and banh mi grilled pork. I honestly didn't know what was on the banh mi special, but hey, it's special so it's gotta be good, right? The two sandwiches cost me less than $7. They made the sandwiches up quite quickly and I took them to go as I wanted to enjoy the experience of losing my banh mi cherry in the privacy of my own home. Once I got home and opened up the bag, I saw that I had made a rookie mistake. There was no way I needed two of these sandwiches. They were each roughly the size of a sandwich from Jimmy John's (sorry Kim Anh, comparison is for size only, not for the actual food!). I decided I'd eat the grilled pork sandwich now and save the special for later. So, I unwrapped the sandwich and beheld the wonder that is banh mi...fresh, crusty french bread, cilantro, shredded carrots, cucumber, daikon (I think) jalapenos, grilled pork and some mayo-eque spread. I took my first bite and was completely sold on banh mi and Kim Anh! It was delicious, the perfect combination of fresh veggies, jalapenos for a slight spicy kick, crusty bread and sweet, delicious pork. I devoured the rest of the sandwich is near record time and decided that since it was so good, I was going to gorge myself and eat the special as well. The special was every bit as good as the grilled pork. I'll be honest, I'm not really sure what all was in the special. There appeared to be more of the lovely grilled pork, something that looked sort of head-cheesy, a weird off-white type of deli meat and perhaps some kind of pate? Despite not knowing exactly what I was eating, it was still really good. I'm definitely going back to Kim Anh for more banh mi and possibly some of the other stuff on their menu, looks like they've got a lot to offer. I now know exactly why all the cool kids are going on about banh mi.

Atmosphere: It's always a good vibe here. Attractive waitress who always serve with a smile and always very patient. Tables are always clean and the sauce are always filled. Some people don't think it's necessary to review the bathroom but don't be mistaken. In some places, one trip to the bathroom and you may lose your appetite, however this is not the case for Kim Anh. Their bathroom is always clean and smelling fresh. However this is a small restaurant and it gets pretty pack so expect to wait a bit on busy days. Food: I'm a big pho fanatic and a very picky one too. I like my broth light/clear (not dark) and have a herby aroma, the kinda that can cure any all night drinking hangover and that is just what they serve here. And they have $5 large pho on Wednesday!!! Also, I've tried a lot of Bun Mi and I have to say this place have the best Bun Mi in my opinion. A good Bun Mi needs to have good bread. What's good bread? One that is crunchy yet cloud soft in the inside. I've tried other places where they tries too hard to make their Bun Mi unique and there's just too many flavors...this place makes the best simple Bun Mi. The only bad thing about the Bun Mi is that they always run out because it's simply amazing... Summary: Good :) * Attractive waitress * Great service * Very Clean * Good pho/Bun Mi * $5 large pho on Wednesday! Bad :( * Gets pack on busy days * Bun Mi runs out pretty quick

This place was ok, but they would always be out a a menu item that I would order. I would recommend trying, but I would not go out of my way to come to this establishment.

This place is good if you want some pho. It's a very small place and does mostly take-out. Be careful of the floor though. I nearly broke my ankle because part of the dining area is a step up. It's hard to see because the carpet is black. This place is also pretty cheap.

On the way to this place, you pass Taco Bell, KFC, and Little Caesers Pizza. Hmm, oh oh, there's an Asian-esque strip mall with a full grocer, thai food, and Viet deli..my waistline thanks me, yay!! Banh mi is such an art form. Many places I've gone to serve bulbous french bread, but Kim Anh's is leaner and nearly a 8 inches (no pun intended). It serves the typical Viet soups and has maybe 6-8 tables but everytime I've been here its never packed. I tried the grilled pork ($2.95) and special ($3.95) banh mi. The grilled pork wasn't in a bright red marinade, but it was freshly grilled and slightly sweet. The special, which had grilled pork and two different types of Viet meatloaf was phenomenal. Their pho is decent, and best of all...they have traditional Viet music playing while I slurp and chew. Without this is like having the weather channel on at a sports bar. Yes--lots of Asians stop by here to get their banh mi fix, so stop on by when you get the chance. You're not just getting some seriously good food for your buck, but its healthy :)

I just visited Kim Anh for the first time and the food was excellent. I had the fresh spring rolls and the lotus root salad with shimp and pork. What a refreshing dish! I loved it. They have many unusual items on their menu that I have not see at other Vietnamese Restaurants. I can't wait to try more!

I am no expert on Vietnamese cuisine. The staff was extremely helpful in explaining ingredients, taste profiles, and how to assemble the food. I would definitely go back!!

This review is based solely upon the once dish that i ordered. I went in to this place on a whim after doing a grocery shopping next door. I saw the restaurant sign (Pastry & Deli), and I thought i could grab something quick like maybe some Vietnamese pastries or bakeries or something to go, but when I walked in, I didnt really see any pastry or bakery items, but there were some Asian/ Vietnamese desserts and drinks in a big fridge and about 5-6 tables. Though the place was not what I expected, I decided to sit down and give a try anyway. For a small restaurant of 5-6 tables, they have quite extensive menu. Like other Vietnamese places, they offer appetizers, sandwiches, noodle dishes, rice dishes, noodle soup, vermicelli salad dishes, and desserts. The menu also has pictures of some dishes with number on the menu and/ or name, which I thought it was a good idea. I decided to try Bun Chao Tom Thit Nuong (Vermicelli with grilled pork and shrimp on sugar cane). I really like Vietnamese shrimp on sugar cane to start with, so when I saw this item on the menu, I ordered it immediately. The dish came out in a decent size bowl with vermicelli at the bottom and topped with shredded cucumber, shredded pickled carrot and daikon, bean sprouts, shredded lettuce, cilantro, green onion, 5-6 pieces of grilled pork, one piece of shrimp on sugar cane, a small cup of fish-sauce based dipping sauce. The grilled pork and shrimp on sugar cane tasted very good. However, the dipping sauce could use a little bit more flavor. Even with the dipping sauce, the noodle was still not flavorful enough, but over all it was a good dish. I've noticed Banh Xeo on the menu. I have not seen this item in that many Vietnamese restaurants. Ive tried this dish at one other Viet place in St Paul, and it was just ok. Now I cant wait to go back to Kim Anh again to try their Banh Xeo.

This place is very good. I usually go to stp for my pho before they opened. Now, I don't even bother to go to stp for pho. Even if I'm in stp I still drive to Kim for pho.

Their menu is huge. Almost too big, it feels like you're just drowning in it. Their ban is super cheap, and looked delicious. The food is cheap overall. I've been here a few times, and will likely visit again for good cheap eats.

Bahn Mi is great, can't beat it for the price. I usually get the Veggie. But I have tried the special, which was good as well if you want meat.

This place serves very good Vietnamese food. It's mostly a carry-out place but also has a smaller dining area that is most busy on the weekends. They have a good menu serving up pho, bun and rice dishes that are seasoned very authentically. The banh mi sandwiches are also quite good for take-out. My favorite is the meatball one.
