This is apparently the late night spot to be even at nearly 10 pm on a Sunday it was a 20+ minute wait. By the time I got to the register they were out of 2 of the 3 flavors mentioned. Ended up getting the last deluxe pb cup of the night. And saw a large tray of double mint come out so asked if those were there. Originally they said no but ended up seeing them in the case for the trouble he asked if I still wanted a double mint I said yes. Got my card out but there was a broken on he asked if I wanted since they couldn't sell it and they were out of the others I wanted. I said sure. Even though the staff was super busy, hot, and tired they will showed great customer service. This went above and beyond my expectations. I did however think there would be more unique flavors but the flavors are pretty standard. BUT they are absolutely amazingly tasty cookies and well worth the wait. Will return for sure.

Insomnia Cookies, both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because it is all the way over in Dinkytown. A curse, because that distance won't stop me from splurging. They happen to be on the pricey side (cupcake standards). I don't mind though, because I would take a cookie over cake any day. They happen to be hot out of the oven and oh so gooey that the chocolate peanut butter cup was mind-blowing. So sweet though! Their huge cooler of milk was entertaining. I'd love to see this place after bar-close...

Pretty good fresh baked cookies with a nice variety to choose from. White Chocolate Macadamia is delicious but the chocolate cookie is too sweet. Snicker doodle is tasty too. The price is a little steep for cookies though.

Late night munchies?? Insomnia Cookies AKA cookie heaven has got you covered. These cookies are amazing! They have an awesome selection of different kinds, everything from your classics (chocolate chip, macadamia nut, sugar, ect.), to the more creative (Peanut butter cup peanut butter, S'mores). Be careful these cookies are very sweet and savory, if you have more than two you're most likely going to have a stomach ache. They melt in your mouth, unless they melt in your hand first. They warm all the cookies you buy before serving them. No one wants a cold cookie. The price is reasonable considering this place needs to pay its employees off selling cookies. I got a peanut butter cookie and a sugar cookie and my total came to right under $3. The best part of this company though is that they are open late, and they deliver right to your doorstep. This winter my roommates and I had 18 cookies delivered to us at 2 a.m. because we had ran out of cookies. I have quite a demanding sweet tooth. I don't remember the delivery fee being to bad either. I would do it again if I still lived in the area. If you have a sweet tooth that controls your life, and you happen to be in Dinkytown when the craving comes, Insomnia Cookies is the place to go!

Seriously the best cookies ever! The deluxe cookies are massive and always soft and gooey. I'm so glad I found this place! I've tried the s'mores, peanut butter cup, and chocolate chunk. The s'mores cookie is almost too sweet, but perfect to share with someone.

I love INSOMNIA COOKIES! I just moved hear and was thrilled when I found out mpls had my favorite cookie/ice cream place. ..,,that took a quick turn. Legitimately the worst customer service. The guy working, was out side chillin when we walked in [nothing against a little work break from time to time] we waited for a good minute (which felt like eternity) before he decided to come in. ..he didn't need to come in for us to smell him & and I COULD SEE THE DIRT ON HIS HANDS. abso-freakin-lutely disgusting. I left :)

Great delicious cookies. Terrible customer service and order accuracy. 5 of us walked in and the guy acted as if it's the worst thing that's ever happened. Rude and short for the whole time, and even manager to get both mine and my friend's orders wrong.

I tried the s'mores cookie ('mallows had a weird texture, and overall just a bit too sweet) & the peanut butter chocolate chunk which is yum yum in my tum tum. Distribution of chocolate could be better though; it's all centered in the middle and kind of makes the cookie hard to eat. This place delivers until 3am and their cookies are always warm... What could be bad about a place like this? Well... besides the s'mores cookie, the prices are a little steep; my total was around $10 for 2 cookies & some milk.

AH-MAZING cookies. I've never been disappointed, my favorite is the s'mores cookie! If your craving a mouthwatering warm gooey cookie, this is the perfect place to go. ps. they're open until 3am, it's great for late night sweet tooth cravings.

YES YES YES give me all the cavities please. They will be worth it. I am not a big cookie junkie, my jam is mostly donuts and cupcakes, but I am not a hater and I don't discriminate when it comes to my sweet tooth. I had this place bookmarked and I was in the hood so might as well, right? I was NOT expecting to be blown away. The guy working was amused by how seriously I took the decision of what cookie to buy. They have standard ones, and then they have deluxe ones. Go big or go home, right? Deluxe, no question. But smores or peanut butter cup? Normally I would go for the pb cup but the guy told me smores was the way to go, so I trusted his judgement, since he seemed like a stoner and therefore a good judge of cookies. The smores cookie was HUGE and WARM and full of melty chocolate chips and melty marshmallows and graham crackers. This baby was worth every single calorie and I can't believe I waited this long to go there. It puts every other cookie I have ever had to shame. So yes. I approve of Insomnia Cookies.

Stopped in for my first time after meeting a friend for lunch in the area. The worker greeted me and asked it if was my first time in. When I said yes, he explained how the pricing for cookies and sizes for ice cream work. Good job on making things clear. Since it was my first time in, I ordered a dozen so I could get variety. When I asked the worker to pick the flavors he seemed confused that I wanted him to pick. I don't know what is good here yet, so the worker should be able to give a variety of what they think are the best. The cookies are soft and warm, the best way to eat cookies. I hope to be back soon.

I am so happy I graduated from the U of M before this place opened or else I would have gained the senior seventeen. I stopped in here with a friend and was immediately entranced by delectable cookie smells. As we were placing our order, the worker asked if we wanted to make them into ice cream sandwiches. Um..... HELL YES. He and I both had one chocolate peanut butter cup cookie and one s'mores deluxe cookie, with cake batter ice cream in between. It was sugar overload, and I could hardly finish half, but my word was it delicious. This location has gotten some low reviews due to poor service (although my experience was fine), but don't forget they deliver! Only in America can you get baked goods delivered to your house until 3 AM, but let's be real, I don't hate it.

Terrible, I mean terrible, service at 1 PM on a Monday. No one at counter at first, then a guy who seemed to be high (red eyes, jittery) showed up from the back. When asked about ingredients in the cookies, said he had no idea and acted like he could care less. So I asked him if he could care less - he said no. Whew - I'd predict this place will be sinking into oblivion soon. I did buy a cookie anyway (I love cookies!!!). Ate half and threw the rest away. Really unimpressive.

As Cookie Monster would say, nom nom nom. Came here for dessert after a gut-busting Lunar New Year dinner across the street at the behest of our resident sweet-tooth, my friend George. That would be so funny if there was a Resident Sweet Tooth, though, no? I imagine a big molar with oversized glasses, a Mr. Rogers-esque sweater, and in a very meta way, a big toothy smile. Anyway, after crossing the treacherous, icy 14th Avenue, we slip-slid our way to this very tiny storefront. Thankfully, there were only 3 other customers in front of us, since any more than that and someone would have to be waiting outside in all that goddamn snow. All the cookies looked very tempting, and I would've been perfectly content with the classic snicker doodle, but I went for the deluxe cookies and got a s'more cookie and the triple chocolate chunk to-go. The triple chocolate chunk is your chocoholic's dream...or nightmare, depending on the stage of your relationship with chocolate. I absolutely love the texture, and I really don't think I need to explain more about how awesome a TRIPLE. CHOCOLATE. CHUNK. COOKIE is. But, I loved the s'mores cookie even s'more! And it did leave me wanting -- at the risk of sounding like a broken record -- s'more! At the perfect warm temperature, the marshmallow fluff inside is just gooey enough and melded with the right amount of chocolate, and is certain to make you think of campfire and horror stories. Like the horror of not having a s'more cookie in the world. S'mores!

The customer service was crap when I first walked in no one was there. I even tried shouting "Please I know you're in there!" Yet still nobody answered. I was so angry I left to got to Annie's Parlor nearby when I came back I saw their employee who looked very unclean standing outside puffing a cigarette surrounding himself in a cloud of smoke I refused to go in and will probably never come back.

This place caught my eye immediately with its purple exterior and its name. Insomnia? Yes. Cookies? YES. So I was itching to give this place a try the next time I was in Dinkytown. Stopped in here for a quick Valentine's Day dessert with my brother (we were looking for the most un-romantic place to satisfy our sweet tooth and this seemed perfect). Neither of us had been before so we thought we'd try something new. Upon walking in, we were immediately engulfed by the intoxicating smell of freshly baked cookies; the smell was so wonderfully disorienting it took us a moment to gather our bearings enough to even focus on the menu or display of cookies in front of us. A lover of all things s'mores, I had to try the cookie version. The bro had the same idea. We thought about going halfsies and getting a s'more cookie and the peanut butter cup cookie, but figured we'd end up fighting over the s'more one later. In order to save ourselves a squabble, we ordered two. And boy, are we glad we did. When we placed our order, the cashier told us we'd have to wait an extra 30 seconds since the cookies were just coming out of the oven, and asked if we were OK with this. OK?! It was music to my ears; sorry you're about to receive fresh-out-of-the-oven perfection. And they were. My only complaint is that they stacked both cookies in a box together so they were a bit of a sticky mess, the top one half attached to the bottom (I ended up with the mangled one), but a delightful mess nonetheless. Yes, the price is a bit steep, but worth it. The cookies are big and rich and gooey, just as a cookie should be. Will most likely stop back on future Dinkytown adventures.

They most definitely delivered! In the hospital with my son who recently had a bone marrow transplant. The nurses ordered cookies and they were absolutely amazing. I was totally impressed by how warm, fresh, and how they had a homemade quality. It was 1am and my son and I really enjoyed this amazing treat

Just had Insomnia Cookies National Fan Page for the first time today at the brand new location in Dinkytown. (THANKS FOR FINALLY OPENING AFTER 5 MONTHS!) Here is my review of their atmosphere, price, and taste: Atmosphere: Rushed over straight after class to get the first taste of what could possibly be my OTP (One True Pairing) of the food Industry. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed is that this place is TINY. When I was the only customer in there, I felt cramped. When 5 girls walked in, there was absolutely no free space. This is going to be a rough life for Insomnia Cookies when people want to grab some cookies after exploring the bar scene. I foresee long lines outside of the restaurant every weekend. Price: The next thing I noticed is the menu. After taking a quick glance, it became clear that this place is not meant for your average Dinkytown patron. Your options for cookies are individually, or in extremely large quantities (12, 18, 24, etc.) For those of us that are looking for something in between (like... a 3-pack or something), this place gets expensive. I spent over $4 for 2 cookies! Considering I can get 13 cookies for the same price at McDonalds, this seems extremely high priced. Taste: Insomnia Cookies has 12 different cookie flavors, 9 regular-sized ($1.35/cookie), and 3 Jumbo Deluxe ($2.75/cookie). For a cookie lover like myself, the options were pretty satisfying. For this review, I tried the Double Chocolate Mint regular sized cookie, and the S'mores Deluxe cookie. The first thing I noticed when purchasing these cookies is that they were kept warm. You would think warm cookies would be a good thing, right? WRONG. The cookies fell apart so easily that it both created a mess on my hands, but also inside the bag they were put in. NO GOOD. NO GOOD AT ALL. As if that wasn't enough, although these cookies taste great, they are like dropping an atom bomb on your stomach. These cookies are super rich, and are currently doing a number on my digestive tract. All in all: Atmosphere: 1/5 Price: 2/5 Taste: 3/5 Overall: 2/5 Suggestions: - If someone is buying more than one cookie, put wax paper between each cookie if you're going to put them in the same bag. - Ask if they people want their cookies warm or room temperature. - Rearrange to offer more space for customers.

Soft, warm, chewy, variety of cookies to choose from. Pretty cheap if you're going for a one time sweet tooth fix. They're also quite big. I've tried multiple ones and never been disappointed. They also have milk for sale on the spot! Open till 3 for all sweet tooths like me.

This concept started in NYC--delicious cookies, awesome service and great customer service walking in. In Dinkytown: customer service is horrible. Walked in there this weekend. There was a kid working the counter fulfilling an order and the owner just sitting around in the back--clearly watching us and not doing anything. We still waited til the said kid was done. He was done with the order and walked towards the back and just hung out with the owner. Finally my friend said "Hey, can I buy 2 cookies? They both looked at each other like we asked them if they sold pot brownies. Placed the order and grabbed milk (the have regular and chocolate in fridge cases). I asked if they had any plastic cups "Uh, no" ..Ok do you have a straw "Straw? Pst, no way". Well, cookies were great. Just make sure you order them and avoid stopping in.

Mmm... I've ordered cookies from here twice now (delivery) and they have been delicious. I've had chocolate chunk, double chocolate, and mint chocolate and they have all been delivered to me within 30 minutes of me ordering them (and I live on West Bank!). They're a bit overpriced in comparison to other cookies, but the fact that I can get them delivered to me makes it worth it. Milk is not worth it though (2.75 for enough for one person). Will definitely order more cookies and keep packing on the Freshman Fifteen!
