The food was all average, and small portions. The service was below average and a very slow kitchen. We did like that there was open seating at community tables.

a group of 8 just enjoyed brunch here before leaving Minnesota after a weekend visit. everyone enjoyed their dishes wholeheartedly- we ordered croque heydays, the root vegetable hash, sausage and grits, and the breakfast sandwich. everything was delicious and fresh and unique. our waitress was kind and accommodating and service was quick and understanding for such a large group. we wish we could visit heyday more frequently! thanks for being fantastic.

Fantastic food, flavors and service. We sampled roasted duck with beets, roasted fish with cauliflower and asparsgus, grilled vegetables. Dessert was pistachio ice cream with a cream puff(?) that was out of this world. Great service too. Hightly recommend. It's not inexpensive but definitely worth it!

I love this place. The service is friendly, the music is fun, the art is beautiful, the drinks are delicious, and the food is AMAZING. Perfect for a fancy (but not stuffy) dinner date, or a girls night, or brunch with friends. Also awesome that they have a parking lot in the back, and I heard next summer they'll have a patio. Can't ask for more!

I think this restaurant is a bit challenging for Minnesotans. It's progressive, but we personally really appreciate it and have had great experiences at Heyday.

Don't really know what the hype is all about. Weird appetizers , no decent salad ( sorry don't like the cucumber almond option) . Pork was fatty and not a starch in sight. Just a piece of meat and some garnish. Desserts didn't appeal. This place is trying too hard. Server was snooty. Won't return .

I was really excited to eat here especially when I saw the menu prices. I assumed that at those prices the food would be amazing. I couldn't have been more wrong. The menu descriptions imply that the food will be delicious gourmet fare. My date and I, both self-proclaimed foodies, were thoroughly underwhelmed and left stating we would never return. The bar selection is not up to par with what you expect in the 'uptown' area. And the chef could use some culinary lessons. Pretty bland and uninspired at best. After paying the $100 bill I felt cheated. Sorely disappointed.

The food was great and exotic. If you go on a busy weekend night service is quite slow. Overall would go back and try other dishes. The chicken liver and clams were quite delicious. Didn't like the lamb cheeks as much.

Great flavors! Food was amazing! But service was disappointing. We had to ask/beg for another bottle of wine. When I arrived I said we were celebrating a birthday. I was introduced to our waiter who said they'd bring dessert with candle on the house. So waiter was switched when we got table. And we were charged for dessert. I don't mind paying, but why tell me it was free and then charge? Weird. And not cool.

We sat at the bar for dinner and had a beautiful meal. Brit, the bartender was awesome and really looked out for us. I had the black cod, others had the roasted vegetables and the Dorade. Perfect food, perfect atmosphere, loved all of it! The bar stools are pretty uncomfy....otherwise a great night!!

Heydey is a great option for an interesting night out. The dining room is bright and welcoming. The service is friendly and enthusiastic. My faves were the gin cocktail with honey and rosemary, and the mackerel starter- salty deliciousness. For the main course, I tried the duck breast, which had good flavor and a nice crust. Our table ordered the vegetable dish to share- everybody loved it.

Not sure what is going on with the Yelp reviews. This restaurant is excellent. There may have been a bit of a wait between courses, but the meal wasn't overly time consuming. The tasting menu, at $65, was amazing. Highly recommend the mackerel with horseradish ice, as well as the squab. The squab will come out with a claw on the plate, but don't freak out. It's delicious.
