Best quality and quantity for any DIY salad available downtown. Fabulous portions and unlimited veggies. Pricing is based on market conditions (but it always seems to be about $7.00/$7.50), plus the cost of a protein if you want one, which honestly you often don't need due to the awesome selection of other ingredients. Avocado, nuts, fruit, veggies, grain, etc are all part of the base price and you aren't limited to only a certain number. My favorite lunch spot by far. And a vast improvement over the old D Brians (same owner).

This skyway restaurant used to be a D Brian's--wonderful salads, sandwiches, and soups. In November, it shut down for "remodeling" and out came Greenfield's, which is a new subsidiary of D Brian's. The D Brian's was packed with customers every day, waiting on line. Not so much at Greenfield's. I tried it and I know why. For about $10.75 you can get a small salad to go. The concept seems good---you can add any vegetables you want--but the execution is very flawed. My salad was not well tossed, and the vegetables added to the greens were quite paltry for the price of the salad--a tiny scoop of beets, a tiny scoop of carrots, etc. So it was all greens, and they weren't ripped up small enough to be bite size. And the dressings were not good. I won't be back, but keeping hoping they will bring back the old D. Brian's. I am sure its loyal customer base would return. I work in the same building, and every few days, I crave a salad, and often walk over to the nearest D. Brian's, which is about 4 or 5 blocks away, in the U.S. Bank building. Here's hoping D. Brian's is still on the hook on the lease!

Tasty smoothie. Expensive, but that's the name of the game for organic these days. Plan ahead if you come here, though, as it could take a long time to make your food! I stood for 10 mins to get my smoothie. Curious why they had Kemps non-organic milk in the fridge. I assume people who shell out extra for this food would expect it.

I've had breakfast here two days in a row. It's very fresh and super delicious. I had the bacon omelette, which is a pretty generous portion of bacon and tomatoes. Today I decided to have a "bowl" which was amazing. I picked out each item that went on top of my scrambled eggs and then they cook everything on the spot. And they have Kale!! They have a lot of options and it is super easy to stick to any dietary restrictions you might have. It it's nice to have food with integrity in the skyway available at breakfast. I'm sure I will be back.

Unbelievably fresh, tasty and healthy. Choose a grain (like quinoa), a green (like kale) and add all of the delicious toppings that you can think of. The lady who gave the place one star and then complained about having to walk "four or five blocks" to D Brian's might discover that she has more energy if she tried something contemporary like this place.

I've had their lunch many times and their breakfast once. Both are pretty expensive compared to other vendors close by, but the food here is good. This one is my favorite out of all the healthy vendors that have recently opened up and I go here at least once a week when I don't bring in my lunch for the week.

Why hasn't anyone thought about this before? This is like a Chipotle for salads but instead of scarfing down 50+ grams of carbs you're doing yourself and your body a favor. You can assemble all different forms of salads and they have a wide variety of toppings. Start with a base, a greens (kale always for me), and a load of toppings (blueberries, bacon, cheese, avocado -- no extra charge, olives, raisins, sunflower seeds, etc.) The base price for no protein is about $8 .. which is reasonable for so much salad! I would skip the protein though. I got like 1/4 cup of diced chicken for $2+ which is like kind of ridiculous in my opinion... Still a really savory salad so I'm happy! The best part is I don't fall into a food coma after eating it like I would for Chipotle...

I was lured in by a display of breakfast options being promoted by the restaurant staff. I was impressed that the sample plates seemed right in line with value for the price. Example: Omelet with breakfast potatoes and half of an avocado, medium size breakfast bowl etc. All for the same price of $5.64. I had the bowl with beans, Pico, mushrooms, spinach, avocado, cheese and egg. Bacon was offered at $1.00 upcharge. For the price, what I ended up with seemed to be a fraction of the size of the samples I was shown. Cons - Size and price $6.25 for a small amount of egg and veggies Pro- Good tasting Friendly staff The eggs are my favorite Larry Schultz eggs from the co-op!

Salad lovers rejoice that there is a new option in the DT skyways! Build your own salad, priced at day-of market pricing. You can choose from your choice of grains (beans, quinoa, rice, and more), greens (spinach, kale, spring greens, and more), protein (chicken, salmon, steak), and tons of toppings - all the usuals, plus some a bit less common like beets, edamame, marinated mushrooms, and more. You can pick toppings, like cheese and nuts/seeds, and dressing. You price is based upon the market value and protein. So, I do appreciate how fresh and healthy this spot it. The salads are mixed in huge bowls and you can get them to go as well. The interior is bright white and clean, very modern and contemporary. They have fresh squeezed juices (they are around $7-8 I believe), kombucha and freshly made iced teas and lemonade. They do not sell soda which makes me so happy! THANK YOU for not giving in Greenfield. When I went for a recent lunch I got steak as my protein plus a fountain drink (aka iced tea) and it was $14 and odd change. I think that is pricey to be honest. This is what I'd likely pay at many sit-down restaurants for lunch. While it is very satisfying, fresh, flavorful and just good quality food, I do think that is more than the average person DT is going to want to pay for a lunch. I treated myself, and because it was 1:30 I knew I could go and not wait forever in line. Goes without saying that there are lines - people like this place and the concept of quick healthy food. But long story short, at this price point I can maybe go once a month.

It has been so refreshing to see a turn in the restaurant/food selection in the skyway. More organic, fresh foods are available these days and it's fantastic! The popularity proves this need. Get there either early or later during lunch because the line moves slowly in my opinion. I haven't quite figured out the 'market price' or its correlation to what exactly....however for the portion size, the price seemed a little on the high side. I ordered the Blue Zone + protein (salmon) which was fantastic, smoked salmon, kale, cumber, brussel sprouts, kalamata olives and Mediterranean vinaigrette. The salad was very filing and tasty, we both agreed one of the best ones we've had over lunch. My meal with an ice tea was $13....so this isn't a cheap lunch, but I guarantee I'll be back to try more.

You haters are crazy, this place is amazing. I'm not from mpls and I walked around lost out of my mind for 25 minutes in the pedway just to find this place. Amazing salads with endless toppings, fresh teas, good staff. Definitely give them a go.

Greenfield Natural Kitchen (proper name) is a popular downtown fast-food destination for nutrition-conscious diners. Located in the skyway near US Bank, it's easy to find -- and even easier to find healthy choices. On my first visit, I discovered the availability of fresh, cold press juices (green ginger). Thereafter, I discovered how varied and wonderful their lunch offerings can be. The restaurant uses the same cafeteria-style meal assembly method as Chipolte. Diners walk down the line assembling a healthy meal from their choice of grains, greens, proteins, toppings and dressings. Each meal begins with a base price, that gets adjusted depending on your choices and the 'market price' assigned to ingredients. I picked a combination of Quinoa, Kale,Tofu and Salmon with olives, onions, and chili lime dressing. They provide samples of all dressings to ensure I was satisfied. They also offer a handful of healthy, unsweeted iced teas. Greenfields is a no-guilt lunch destination. You'll pay a bit more here than other fast-food options in the skyway, but you won't leave bloated or hungry. Since Greenfields is often backed-up during peak lunch hours, it's a good idea to arrive a bit early or with a bit of time to spare.

Great concept but can get expensive if you need to eat meat. I dont so I didnt care. I think their pressed juice is a bit overpriced. I love all the toppings and how the price changes with the market value. If you want more of something speak up--they'll hook you up! I always make my bowl up as I go.

More style than value. They use organics which is cool but the price is too high. The pricing system I still haven't figured out. They make your salad in beautiful giant bowls only to throw it in a typical plastic container. Wasting time and energy washing bowls that the customer never touches. Everything is clean and open and modern but in the skyway restaurant biz you need to be quick, good, and reasonably priced. Just being good does not cut it. At least for me. Have not tried their $8 smoothy and probably won't.

This is my go-to make-your-own salad spot in the skyway. You get your choice of grains and a choice of greens. I always go with quinoa and and then a combo of spinach and spring mix.... Then you get as many toppings as you want - including avocado! They toss the salad nicely and you can get it eat in or to go. Less than $9 if you don't get protein. Free cucumber/lemon water. I think it's the best deal for healthy, customizable lunch! Go before 11:30 to avoid the long line.

I had lunch with a friend at Greenfield Natural Kitchen (proper name) last week. I had never heard of it before, but she suggested this since we were getting bored with our healthy/fast options downtown. Plus, she follows a paleo diet and could easily stay on plan here. I love the simplicity. Pick a wrap or bowl, a grain, protein, greens, toppings (including everything from asparagus to egg to bacon to avocado) and a dressing. You start at a base price and add a little extra if you select steak or salmon (fair). My lunch was under $11. Yeah, it's more expensive than Chipotle...but c'mon! The portion was huge - I thought there was no way I could ever eat it all...I was wrong. I devoured it. It was just that good. We arrived early (11:45 am), which is good because seating filled up quickly -- and the line got a lot longer too. Delicious, real food made to order with fresh ingredients. Great service and fair prices. I had the breakfast bowl with eggs, bacon, black beans, spinach, avocado, tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, sour cream and cheese. I like that my meal was prepared right in front of me and I could see all the fresh ingredients. I also appreciate the selection of probiotic drinks/kombucha. Definitely a come back place next visit to Minneapolis.

I LOVE this place and eat here probably once a week, and honestly I really should more often than that because I never feel awful later in the work day afternoon after eating here; I always feel like I've eaten the very best way I can for my body! There are a few other spots around the skyway to get a fully custom salad, but no one does it as well as Greenfield with as many healthy and fresh options and no one does it for a better price. Also, they have organic ice teas, lemonade and cucumber water, "on tap" and self-serve. The only draw back is that seating can be hard to come by if you get there smack dab in the middle of the lunch hour rush, and if all these great reviews on here are any indication, this may get worse. Shhh, don't tell anyone how great this place is!

Fresh, quality ingredients and a healthy portion. Choice of grains, meats (or tofu), and lots of fruit/veggie options. Price was about what you'd expect for a fresh salad in the skyway. Definitely adding it to the skyway lunch rotation!
