Very good place! Only been open for a few months but the ribs and brisket are very very delicious. Two words - MUST TRY! You will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich, maybe a little fatty, but tasty. Fries were just ok. They are just frozen fries so nothing special. I think they could have been done more. Menu is simple and they focus on the basics, bbq meat and a few sides. A few odd balls such as sticky rice and todays egg roll special.

Stopped in again today for lunch to go - pulled pork sandwich and fries - WOW. So good. So glad to have them in the neighborhood.

In the past few months, I've had this beef brisket crave. I've been to Q, Bakers and others. Don't get me wrong they're great. But living in Minneapolis, Firebox Deli is the place. I first tried it last week, and it was good, but I was on the fence about it. Then one week later, yesterday, I had the crave again. There's something about their beef brisket sandwich and bbq sauce that hits the spot. I hope they will allow me to order double meat, because that's what I'm going to do next time. I know everyone has different tastes, and there are going to be good and bad days. But if you're in the neighborhood, this place is a must try!!

The food is good but it is overpriced. I got the brisket meal that came with two sides and it was just under $20. Again it is good but I know of other places just as good for about $5-$10 cheaper. Big Daddy's in St. Paul I think is better when considering overall value. Especially for the area it's surprising to see them charging so much. Tough to buy this when you go down 20 yards to a Cuban restaurant that is selling meals starting at $5 and it is solid.

Easily the best BBQ in MN. The brisket is fork tender, and smokey. The ribs are juicey and smokey. The coleslaw is excellent. The pickled mustard greens are exquisite. The Mac and cheese is wondrous. The staff is ultra friendly. This is a Northside Gem. If the serves booze the line would be blocks long to get in.

Wasn't sure what to expect as this is a fairly new establishment (1 year come Labor day 2015) and the location is right off the freeway and by businesses but we had a coupon for it and some of the reviews I read seemed pretty good. I ordered pulled pork sandwich which came with 1 side, I picked cole slaw to add to the sandwich. Husband got the same but a dinner version. He also got slaw and fries. Everything was really good. Hot food was hot and slaw was cold and in a separate container so as not to run into the sandwich. Nice touch to avoid a soggy bun. There were only about a half dozen tables and the atmosphere was geared more for the take out business, which was brisk. Only complaint was a strange smell when we walked in. Kind of that old building smell, which it probably was, but it seemed to go away after a bit and didn't distract from the food.

This little non chain privately owned northside gem is a suprise! It is not fancy. It is not classy. But the food is absolutely excellent. I highly recommend you checking it out this place is a legend in eatin meat!

Just stopped by for some take out dinner. Friendly service and quality bbq! Went for a rack of pork ribs, beef brisket, Mac n' cheese , potato salad and coleslaw. Everything was good and the pork ribs , Mac n cheese, and coleslaw were extra killer. BBQ in general is hard is hard to find in the Twin Cities, yet alone good bbq! Stoked to go back here. Only downside is no beer.

Just finished up lunch here with a couple of co-workers. I've had it book marked for a couple months now but BBQ generally isn't my usual choice for lunch! Firstly, when you walk in, that smokey meat smell hits you! Mmm, I am a fan of smokey meat smells, so it instantly made me even hungrier. The menu is up in chalk on a huge chalk board behind the register. It's a smaller place with only a handful of tables, but we had no problem snagging a table of 4. A lot of people came in and out doing take out. I've looked over the menu before and decided to go with the fries. Our food was brought out together quick enough. My co-worker, who also ordered the fries, had extra meat added on to his ($3 upcharge), but instead of looking like mine with just a bunch more meat, he got more fries and meat, so the dish was significantly larger, not quite what he was expecting. The fries themselves were excellent. Just the right amount of meat and cheese and a bit of sweet bbq sauce all mixed in. It was a generous portion, even though I came in hungry I could only eat about 3/4 of it! Definitely seems like a top notch place. I need to come back and bring the hubs, I've heard great thing about the brisket sandwich! Great find in N Mpls!

First time customer, I ordered the Beef Brisket sandwich (I got the large, with 5 oz of meat, vs the small with 3.5 oz). It comes with one side, I chose the Mac & Cheese. I selected sauce on thesandwich instead of on the side. Order took less than ten minutes, brisket came on thick toasted bread (like Texas Toast). The Mac & Cheese had this great crispy topping, tasted incredible, so I pretty much devoured that before biting into my sandwich. (I had ordered to go, but smelled so good, I just took a seat and ate it there). The meat on the sandwich was tender, sauce was delicious. It could have been a little juicier, though, so I'm giving them 4 stars. Was definitely better than 7 out of 10 bbq places I've been in the Twin Cities, though. I went on a Sunday afternoon, so I'll return on a Friday night, see if a busier night changes things up in the kitchen. Definitely coming back for the Firebox Fries, those sounded bomb!

I came here ordered my food to go. When I arrived it was finished yet I decided to eat there because the place looked clean and there was seating. I was with my boyfriend and son. I ordered the ribs and sticky rice. I got chicken wings and fries for my son, and my boyfriend got the beef brisket and potato salad. The food was Delicious. I tried everyone's meal and everything was delicious. The ribs weren't dry. The chicken wings were cooked to perfection with a smoked bbq taste. The sticky rice was good. The potato salad was very fresh and tasty. Fries were even remarkably great. It's not often you find a great take out place but I think I found my new favorite spot. Would highly recommend!!!!

We decided to go and check out this butcher looking place. We walked in and it looked way better than we thought it would look like. I loved the farmers look to it. They had this huge chalk board menu and it was kept pretty simple. Made it great and simple to order. When we got the food and finally tasted the food. It was pretty good. I had the chicken wing with the two sides (mac & cheese with fries). The chicken was sweeter than I expected (I didn't expect it to be sweet at all). The mac & cheese was a little on the bland side but the fries were good. My fiancé had the pulled pork with two sides (mac & cheese and cole slaw). The pulled pork was delicious. I can actually say this because I am not big on pulled pork at all. Most places drench their pulled pork in BBQ sauce - they didn't and I wanted to steal my fiancés pulled pork and eat it for myself. I don't do cole slaw but my fiancé loved it. We also ordered a side of pork tips - it was delicious!!! I do not like BBQ sauce at all. This sauce they had was not too tangy and it wasn't ridiculously sweet and I actually had about 5 pieces of it. And if you knew me you'd know, I wouldn't eat anything with BBQ at all. I'm not big on a lot of sauce (ketchup, mustard, mayo, BBQ.. etc) and I liked it. So I'm sure you would too. The only reason it didn't get all five stars is because the Mac & cheese wasn't was tasty as I thought it would be. But we'd go back for sure and next time, I'm getting the pulled pork.

I definitely found my new favorite BBQ spot in the Twin Cities! So lucky my fiancé and I stumbled upon this place. We shared a brisket meat plate & a pulled pork meat plate. Mac & cheese, fries, sweet potatoes and potato salad for sides. Both came with Texas toast (as they should). I was wowed by each item on our plates. Some reviewers called the food over-priced but I'm willing to pay for good BBQ, plus the portions are HUGE! I brought half home with me in a biodegradable takeout container. (Win! ) Definitely stop here if you are in the area or if you're hungry for some awesome BBQ, go ahead and make the trip over. You won't be disappointed!

I had fairly low expectations heading in, but I was blown away. The price was appropriate, and the seating area was adequate. The food, on the other hand, was fantastic. I refer my clients to it regularly if they're in the neighborhood.

Without a doubt, best brisket in the twin cites. Nuf said. Since I have to say more I will say that there potato salad has no hard boiled eggs which to me is key.

Been here four times now. I wish in my dreams I could make brisket that tender without boiling it, or slow cooking over a couple days. Don't bother with their fries, go for their sweet potato. Cubes and prepared perfectly. IHMO of course.

They have very good food. Ribs, Brisket, pulled pork. It is small inside, 7 tables -2 that seat 4 5 that seat 2. My wife and I love coming here.

Good rib tips ...tender and juicy and not dried out like other places tend to be. tasted like they used sweet baby rays bbq sauce. The Mac n cheese was not good. No flavor in the Mac n cheese. Ur good to go if u get the ribs and fries

So far we've only gotten take-out since we live in the area, but everything we've tried has been delicious, and the family that runs this place is wonderful. Great service, and always with smiles!

This place was surprisingly good and very well priced. The ribs were tender and the beef brisket was amazing! The coleslaw wasn't my favorite but their potato salad and macaroni and cheese were very good. I can't wait to go again, and will definitely be getting the beef brisket every time!

Great food and I'm glad there's sticky rice. Pork ribs were not dry. Would go eat again.

Great Texas style BBQ. Perfect brisket - great outer bark, tender and juicy inside. Get the sauce on the side so you can savor the spices and smoky flavor on your first bite and then douse the brisket with their tangy, spicy sauce. Great sides ( the mac and cheese is the real deal, leave your diet at home and put your cardiologist on speed dial) Get here early - they were sold out of the ribs - that's ok, it'll give me another reason to go back. It's a very unassuming facade and a pretty simple interior - nice, clean and no frills. I can't wait to go back!
