Kind of a dump inside. Had the meatloaf, got sick . . . Never again!

Great food, great service! Every single thing that I have ordered within the last two years of living here has been great. I personally even think their better than Hell's Kitchen. I would consider myself a "choosy" eater. I don't like all the super processed breakfasts that IHOP and Denny's serve. Come here and order the Mexican omelette, it's really good :-)

We go here frequently, mostly because the breakfast is delicious and cheap. The wait staff is very nice. The owner isn't very friendly, but the wait staff and food make up for it. The breakfast is very good, the lunch is decent. Food comes very quickly and consistantly good.

Its obviously not "the best" place for breakfast but for being in the same category as Perkin's, Denny's, iHop, etc its the best out of those three!!! I had the "Everything Skillet" with over easy eggs, and I'd have to say this place understands "over easy" eggs. The whites cooked all the way through while the yoke has just started to cook yet still extremely runny!!! Everything about this place makes it stand out from the other chain family restaurants.

I hadn't been to an Embers in at least 15 years, but that changed today. Seeking a quick pit stop off 694 and Central, my friend Tim and I decided to give Embers a shot. Granted, it's a chain, but it did not at all feel like a chain. On a Sunday at about 10:30 AM, the place was busy, but not stressful busy. This joint has a friendly vibe to it - like the staff was legitimately happy we were coming in to dine. We only waited a couple minutes for a table, and our server was attentive and prompt throughout our meal I ordered up the Lotsa' Meat Skillet with a side of pancakes. Our server gave me an entire pot of coffee to keep at the table, so I was immediately a big fan of her. The skillet was exactly what I wanted: tasty and sizable. The pancakes were cooked to perfection and were a great complement to my skillet, which had bacon, sausage, ham, hashbrowns, two eggs, and hollandaise sauce. The prices were very reasonable - my skillet was 8 bucks (no extra charge for the pancakes). For a place that's easy to get to, quick, and friendly, Ricky's Embers is a great choice.

I was really happy to run across an Embers Restaraunt thats still operating in the Twin Cities area. Embers has always been my favorite chain restaraunt to get breakfast. Unfortunately for some strange reason all the ones I knew of are gone now, including the one in my hometown of Richfield MN. Pancakes here are thee best, hashbrowns are really good too, and they know how to properly cook bacon, always hate how at alot of places the bacon is too hard. Not here, everthing was very good. I'm especially glad that this particular location is one of the survivors because its one of the originals and has got the style of a classic roadside restaraunt. The unique roof shapes the interior ceiling and there is really neat memorabillia on the interior walls. If your coming this way and are looking for a great place to grab breakfast, I'd definetely recommend coming here, absolutely.

Ricky's Embers is a lot like a Denny's or Perkins only with more character (check out the historical photos of Fridley that adorn the walls). The joint is small and always full, but oddly there is rarely a wait. The food is good for what it is. If you order breakfast, be sure to order the coffee cake. Family owned (and staffed). Check it out!

I love exploring local eating establishments while working across the country. Ricky.s Embers was a real treat in Friedly MN. Breakfast was wholsome and delicious with generous portions. Service was fast and professional and the atmosphere cordial and family oriented. Dinner was excellent, I had the pot roast and the thick cut slices were tender and delicious. Highly recommend Embers be sure to come hungry and you. will leave very content. By the way the staff offer coloring books and crayons to the kids which you just don't see much anymore. Enjoyed the pancakes yesterday...with real warmed-up maple syrup! YUMMY! The service was stellar and friendly, too!

Went for dinner, it was busy, and service suffered a little bit. Food was adequate and price appropriate. I will return, give them a shot at breakfast.

I've been coming to this place since I was 5 with my family and I'm currently 21. This place is awesome, yes it's a bit run down, it's in need of a remodel. But the food Is always good, the customer service is spot on. And it's always awesome to see Ricky (host/owner) there, he always has a huge grin on when he sees my family walk in. The evrything skillet is the best thing in my opinion in the menu. Never disappoints.

I met a friend here for breakfast today. I was excited to return to an Embers restaurant after several years of settling for other locations. I arrived ahead of my friend, but the wonderful staff seated me at a table before she arrived and allowed me to wait. My server stopped by and asked if I wanted a beverage while I waited, and confirmed I wanted to wait to order until my friend arrived. My friend arrived, and our server was considerate. He took her beverage order and allowed her time to decide on what she wanted. I had the Denver Omelet which came with a side of hash browns and my choice of toast, pancakes, or coffee cake (I had the coffee cake, which came with a scoop of butter). The omelet was beautifully prepared and included caramelized onions, huge chunks of green pepper, and slivers of ham with plenty of cheese. The ingredients nearly exploded out of my omelet! On the down side, my hash browns were a bit overcooked (on the one side that saw the griddle), and my meal was served as a "skillet," although it was not advertised as one. My friend also found that to use the restroom she had to go downstairs. Overall, this was a great find in the affordably-priced breakfast market. I will certainly consider returning.

food is alright for the price, the guy who's the host is just rude. The service was overall ok.

Went here around noon on a Sunday for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. We were seated promptly and enjoyed great service. Both my boyfriend and I ordered the Double Play which comes with 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 strips of bacon and 2 sausage patties. The bacon was delightfully crisp to perfection and the pancakes were great as well. Will definitely return for more breakfast greatness.
