Went there for the first time. Pork fried rice: very good Beef n broccori: very good Chicken lo mein: it was ok. I've had better. Lacked ingredients like vegies. Cream cheese wontons: disappointed. They were quite small compared to all the other restaurants Ive had them at. They also lacked crispyness. The food was fast! I will go back.

Nice family own Chinese place. They have great value lunch specials. The lady at the counter, who I think is the owner, is very nice and very friendly.

Not Nearly As Good As They Used To Be... My wife and I have been a loyal customers to them for over 15 years and it is true they USED TO be a GREAT place for take out food. Cute, polite woman at the front counter and her family cooking/working behind the scene. She even recognized my voice and knew my preferences when I'd place a phone order. Best Sesame Chicken we'd ever tasted back then... However, about 5 years ago the food quality began slipping. The sesame chicken pieces were dry, there wasn't much sauce and the broccoli on the bottom was tough as leather -- why even bother to include it if its not edible? We thought the poor quality was a fluke at first but the next few orders were no better, so we stopped ordering from them. Last year we thought we'd try them again, but the sesame chicken was no better. In fact, my wife choked on a very dry piece of chicken and we almost had to call an ambulance! A few months ago we thought we'd give them ONE LAST TRY. I first called the owner (who sounded just like the "cute woman at the desk") to explain the food quality problems we had experienced over the years (she offered NO APOLOGY) and that we would order ONE LAST TIME, and if the problems still existed we were never coming back. She assured us the the food would be very good so we placed our order at that time. That order turned out as bad as the others so we called her to complain and she turned into a not so sweet person and basically told us we were the problem and all their other customers prefer the chicken dry, with little sauce and rubbery broccoli... Finally, I asked for a refund and she flatly denied to, then hung up on us! She certainly has no concept on how to treat loyal customers. Any reputable restaurant owner would want to know if their food quality was declining and do whatever was reasonable to compensate that customer for a bad meal; they understand the concept of how word-of-mouth advertizing from one unhappy customer spreads 10 time farther than from a happy customer. Maybe most of China Star's dishes are still quite good and a lot of people prefer dry sesame chicken (better tell that to Leann Chin so she can make her sesame chicken dry too). But China Star has lost this customer permanently because they are in denial about a food quality problem AND refuse to resolve an issue with a dissatisfied loyal customer.

Standard Chinese. Quality white chicken and not over breaded. Very very nice staff. Every time I go here they are very nice and happy. Clean environment.

I work about a 2 miles from this location and I must say. Hands down the best lunch I get to have a few times a week. Prices are great, the staff is great and the food is always consistent. General Tso is one of the best, but what I would recommend over and beyond everything. Is the fried dumplings. Best I've had in a long time and certainly a good meal every time I go there.

Meh... Lovely, friendly lady at the counter and good, fast service, but the food I tried was a step above marginal at best. I guess that explains why a whole plateful of food only costed 5 bucks...

For lunch I ordered General Tso's Chicken. It consisted of small nuggets of chicken with a huge amount of breading, fried hard as a rock, with an ultra-sweet gloppy sauce and raw brocoli. The rice had a off taste. This food is garbage.

I've been going to China Star since 1996. I really enjoy the place. The food is always fresh and well made. They pay attention to detail. Over the years I've pretty much narrowed down to my "regular" order, but everything is great. The mushroom fried rice is good, the hot & sour soup is really good. I always get ti chien noodles too, which are perfect. You can't find a better neighborhood Chinese restaurant in the area, in my opinion.

Nice little take out place, they have one or two tables if you really need to eat there (occasionally will see law enforcement eating at them, that's about it). I moved to Fridley and my Fiancee still makes me head over there for food as chinese by us is crap. I've never had bad food there and service is always friendly

We have been ordering from China Star for over 5 years. They have never made a mistake and always greet us by name and ask about which ever family members aren't present to pick up. When my son comes in with me, they give him cookies. I really love this place and am always happy to give them our business. It's always busy but food pretty much takes about 15minutes from order to ready no matter what time you call. Sesame Chicken is our usual favorite. Kung Bo Chicken has peanuts and is spicier and also makes the A list. We order the beef lo mein and shrimp or veggie mei fun frequently. Fried dumplings are yummy. Shrimp with garlic sauce is very good. We always have a bottle of siracha on the table to spice everything up more when we get home.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
