I'm from the south and used to seeing these places everywhere. The food it great and great service, we moved up here from FL and noticed that there wasn't one in close driving distance. We heard that there was one located in the student union building off of Washington, but no parking. We offend went to the chick fil a in Bloomington and we highly recommend it to people that have not tried it yet.

I had completely forgotten about this place until someone at dinner tonight stated they would never eat here because their CEO is anti-gay. My rather shallow response: Who cares about their politics, that place sucks. The food isn't very good and it's really over-priced for fast food. Let's not even start with how they are not open on Sundays, how inconvenient is that? The truth is, I do care if the CEO is a homophobe but in reality, this place is a major fail to begin with. Their CEO could be mother theresa and I still wouldn't eat here. Get your act together, Sundays are chicken days, work on your food and prices, and oh yeah stop hating the gays. I don't want anyone preaching at me while serving me thousands of calories of junk food.

It's the located in the Student Union building it's more of a grab and go. It's quick but there's no parking that's the one thing I do not like I would to go there and grab something really quickly I would have to pay for parking but I just wonder why there's only one restaurant in the metro area doesn't make sense but overall I like it its close to my house but either way I wish there were more restaurants it's more of a cafeteria Field food court feel type place

I don't see the point of boycotting or supporting this establishment. They made it impossible to get to unless on foot.

I love that Minnesota finally has a Chick-Fil-A! But I'm very sad that it's not located anywhere else other than inside Coffman (because of the short hours). When I was living in the South, they had this fast food joint everywhere. What's good? Everything!!! Their waffle fries, chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, Chick-Fil-A sauce... Hopefully someone will read this Yelp! review and open one outside of campus.

Years ago, my friend who went to college in Florida told me there was now a Chick-fil-a in Coffman, Naturally, I was curious. Looking back, I have to admit that there was always something about me that was different. I just didn't want to eat beef. Sure, in junior high and high school I went to BBQs. I even ate at McDonalds. I didn't like it or crave it, but I thought I just hadn't found the hamburger for me yet. You have to understand, though, that in the 80s and 90s, in the north, we just weren't exposed to chicken sandwiches. At church they talked about that, "poultry," and how we would go to hell. I believed in the Biblical definition of meat- red meat. So we went to the Chik-fil-a. I expected to be repulsed by the sinfulness all around me but when I went it just seemed like fast food. I wouldn't actually buy anything of course, but I was confused. "Come on," my friend said. "I dare you to try a bite." The crazy student union foodcourt atmosphere made me feel bold and crazy, and I wanted to see how it was to eat the devil flesh. As she held out the sandwich to me, I looked in her eyes and took a bite. I slowly closed my eyes. So many feelings and sensations washed over me. I can't even describe what it was like. It felt so, so right. The taste, the smell... the tender bun, the chewy flesh. And it was juicy. Oh god, it was so juicy. It ran down my chin, and I moaned. I licked my lips, opened my eyes, and looked at my friend, breathing heavily. I felt flushed, lightheaded. I moaned, and she smiled at me. "I always knew it," she said. "I could tell." And she was right. ---- Zero stars for hatred. One star for honey bbq sauce. Seriously, though, this location sucks- cold, soggy, and not as delicious as my southern experiences with it.

I love Chick-Fil-A, They just know how to do chicken better than all the other fast food chains.

So, I have an idea. Let's create a food court in the student union building of the 4th largest state university's and in that food court put in some top fast food restaurant brands - including Chick-fil-a, which actually isn't available anywhere else in the state. Chick-fil-a, in case you're from around these parts, elicits a strong magnetic attraction to anyone from the South. It's like a Krispy Kreme to a North Caroliner or a In 'n' Out to a Californian. It's insane that there aren't more here. But, I digress... 52,000 students, on a campus known for some snow and inclement weather, and put one main food court in the main student union. And then, mind-numbingly inexplicably, let's CLOSE this very busy food court at 6:30 (right before anyone would, I don't know, eat dinner). And, also, even more inexplicably, don't open this food court at all on the weekends. Automatically, I know this business plan isn't gonna get me an A on my business class essay paper. But here's where my business school B-grade paper automatically becomes a D-... Despite those mindnumbingly stupid hours of operation.... let's close the most popular place, the Chick-fil-a, at 2 o'clock in the motherfucking afternoon. At some point, only a conspiracy theory involving payoffs from neighborhood fast food restaurants becomes the only logical explanation. 5 Stars for it being the only Chick-fil-a in like 600 miles. -1 Star for the skull-crushing inanity of its hours.

Some people at work (who also lived in the South at one point) scheduled a bus outing from downtown over to the U to get Chick-Fil-A. I got invited and said "There's no Chick-Fil-A in Minnesota. I know. I've bitched about this before." But I got on the bus, rode over, walked into the student union food court, and picked up food from the pre-made (but still surprisingly fresh) selection of waffle fries, chicken sandwiches, and chicken nuggets. But it's not a Chick-Fil-A chicken nugget without Polynesian sause, and thankfully they have big containers of the sauces right there for the taking. I resisted the urge and did not grab 20 Polynesian sauces and a straw because I reminded myself I can come back. Admittedly, this review is probably higher than it should be, but it brings back a little bit of my last home, so they get an extra star.
