Our office catered Bridgewood Cafe for lunch to mixed reviews. Sinced most of us had never heard of Bridgewood catering, we pulled up their menu so we could check out what they served while we ate. Granted, our office catered the meal so who knows if they made any changes to the menu offerings but based on what we received in our boxed lunches, we think we received the executive box lunch without the veggies and dip. The sandwiches tasted incredibly fresh and there was definitely a lot to their boxed lunches; we got chips, fruit, a cookie mints and a handy moist towelete. There were some oddities to the meal though. A couple people got the chicken salad sandwich and were surprised to find it was mustard based and not mayo based. Though they said the chicken salad was really good, it would have been nice if they had been labelled "honey mustard chicken salad" instead of just "chicken salad." Those who grabbed the ham or turkey sandwiches were also surprised to find they did not come with cheese even though all of their menu items mention having some sort of cheese in them. Half the cookies looked burned and the other half looked like they were wrapped in plastic before they had cooled because they plastic bags were covered in chocolate. Mine looked burned but somehow it was still soft. Lastly, one of my co-worker's boxed lunch was missing the chips. The mints and towelettes are a thoughtful touch but overall it didn't seem like as much thoughtfulness went in to making the fresher items. It definitely did the job of feeding all of us and at the end of the day, who can really complain about free food? It just seems like Bridgewood needs to up their game a bit if they are going to compete with the hoards of other places downtown that also cater sandwiches.
