I just want to say that I truly love white castle and wish they would build some on the Midwest like Nebraska and Iowa...My family and I went to this location white castle last night for food as we are on vacation and have eaten the last 15 meals of fast food and restaurants here in Minnesota, I have not been to a white castle in about 8 years and was so excited to get to one and eat a bunch of sliders....I did order quite a bit from the menu 10 sliders and what was supposed to be 2 extra sliders and 1 chicken 1 fish and 2 gooey butter cakes ended up being and was overcharged for 4 extra chciken and fish the 2 sliders but not included in the bag and the soda we got tasted like the syrup was out....the food was overall pretty awesome orher than 5 burgers supposed to not have onions had some on them and again the being overcharged is never fun...but good burgers and service was somewhat friendly..not sure I would go to this location again unless I was close..should do something about correcting the ordering system :-(

I hear White Castle, I think of finding Harold & Kumar. I saw that movie ages ago, but have never made it out to the fast food chain, as I never really saw the need to experience this classy joint... until last week. Apparently, for the past 20 years, White Castle has gone all out for Valentine's Day. I heard about it through one of my co-workers who has gone yearly with his wife (and now children and grandparents) for the past handful of years; he loves the novelty of it, as well as being able to treat his family to a fun event for cheap. Since I already dine out at fancy restaurants pretty often, I felt that a typical restaurant reservation for this year's Vday was simply too... mundane. So, for this year, we decided to spice it up! First off, in all seriousness, and in no laughing matter, you HAVE to make a reservation. Chad and I made our reservation two weeks earlier and got the very last table - a table for 2 at 8pm at the Hopkin's location. Serious. Next, dress code: anything goes. I was in business casual as I went from work, but there were folks in sweat pants as well as dresses! We pull up and first thing you notice is that it's dark inside - yup, mood lighting. The drive-through is closed and the restaurant is only open to those with reservations. One day only, White Castle has waitstaff. They have a make shift hostess stand by throwing a heart-decked table cloth over a huge trash can. You're taken to your candle-lite, table-clothed table where there's a special Valentine's Day menu, candies on the table, carnation in plastic vases center pieces and red helium mylar heart-shaped balloons! You're asked for your drink order (soft drinks, ice tea, chocolate shake, milk, or coffee) and then you decide what to get. As this was our first time there, we pretty much tried every item: a white castle hamburger (.65), Jalapeno cheeseburger (1.58), Bacon cheeseburger (1.09), A1 Slyder (1.59), Fish w/Cheese (1.29), Pulled pork slider (.99), and chicken ring w/cheese (1.29). For sides, we also tried the fish nibbler (2.79 small, 6.99 sack), onion chips (1.99 or 3.19), and cheese sticks (1.99-4.99). My favorite side were the onion chips - essentially like onion rings, but less onion and more fried goodness. Favorite sandwich was a toss-up between the bacon or jalapeno. We weren't sure how big these were, so we only got a few at first.. then tried a few more. In the end, our bill came to $18 and we were stuffed. It was definitely the most classy, romantic dinner ever... HAH. Completely out of my style, but very novel, and very much fun. Chad and I probably will not be doing this again next year, but it is definitely a must-do at some point. As we had the last call-times, we were able to take home some of the decorations - so kudos for the free carnations and helium balloons. =D

Gregory Lasica loves White Castle. This store is very clean, easy to get too, and has kid specials at night. The only drawback is drive though orders. About 1/3 of the time the order is wrong when I order for more than 1 person.

Do not go here and expect to make it through the drive thru fast. I swear this drive thru is so terribly slow and the service is not that great. However, if you go in the service upgrades. The staff doesn't seem as annoyed with you. When you order, it never sounds good. You always do the quick pray that they heard you correct since the screen is broken half the time. It it your traditional white castle. Make sure you order cheese on your sliders. The chicken sliders are great, the fries are boring...the cheese sticks are good but the sauce they come with is disgusting! Their breakfast is actually quite good. The egg often falls out when I try to eat them, but it is a real egg, not a precooked microwaved egg like you get at some of the other places around town.

For the alcohol consumers, we've all had the experience known as "beer goggles." The amount of alcohol you drink is directly proportional to the attractiveness of the opposite sex. This effect can also be attributed to food selection. At the beginning of the night, the idea of stuffing your food hole with small pieces of slimy meat (unknown origin) sandwiched between processed white bread is unappealing. However, after imbibing copious amounts of liquor, that same unappealing meal looks like a sampling from a Michelin star restaurant and tastes like food from a James Beard award winning chef. Unfortunately, the side effect from such gluttony normally includes abdominal pain or a memorable trip to the toilet within 6 hours of consumption. "Never again" will by my mantra after visiting any one of the White Castle chains. I will probably be saying those words for years to come.

I know it's a tradition for a lot of folks to eat sliders from White Castle, I just don't know how anyone would ever eat here a second time or recommend anyone else ever eat here. The service was fine. The prices were in line with other fast food places. The food was horrible. Yuk! I am not a fan.

The most dangerous food on the planet. No kidding, White Castle did an experiment in the 30's. They made a dude eat nothing but sliders for over 2 months straight. They measured his vitals daily and the corporate (I mean UofM) doctor "proved" that a diet of nothing but 'Castles improved his health. Google it... They have video on YouTube. Screw you Spurlock. Anyway, I love sliders. I'll eat 6-7 in one sitting, no pot or booze required. And onion chips. Add a sack of onion chips! But within hours, my body is producing a gas which is either a Marvel Universe "super fuel" source or maybe it's just a good old fashioned dog repellent. Despite that nightmare, my family are the only ones that regret the experience. I come back every few months for a fix. I do love this White Castle. Now, I cannot help but to think about the dude that ate these tasty little bastards for 13 weeks. Was it actually a military experiment, testing the gut of a willing soldier? Or testing his wifes olfactory sense? Only the guys in that grainy black and white video know for sure. I know that I love them. And this particular White Castle has provided exactly what I crave for many, many years.
