Living in the suburbs has its advantages, but finding good, non-chain restaurants isn't typically one of them. When I want to go out for breakfast I sometimes draw a blank about where to go but last weekend remembered Buzz and their amazing waffle bar. Seriously so many options for the waffles, both sweet and savory. This time we went simple and opted for the Honey Butter. The waffle itself is cooked to perfection... crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. The honey butter is just as it sounds... butter mixed with honey. We wished there were a little bit more of it but it was good. They do breakfast sandwiches very well here. You can choose your type of carb and then from good options for the innards. We went with sausage, spinach, onion, artichoke hearts, egg and loved every bite. Can be hard to find if you've never been. In a strip mall and the sign looks like it just says "Coffee" from a distance, with Buzz much smaller. But it's a cute little spot with friendly service and solid food. Next time you're wondering where to head for breakfast or lunch that isn't a cookie cutter place, give them a try!

Very sweet cozy coffee shop in Burnsville and the Waffles are delicious to say the least. Went on a Wednesday and got my waffles half off which is a big plus. I recommend this place to anybody who likes waffles and coffee which is most everyone I know.

Cute & cosy. Came here for the first time after hearing about it from a friend many times. I ordered the honey cubano latte and a Mediterranean wrap. I normally don't drink coffee, and was pleasantly surprised by the smooth, rich flavor of my latte. The wrap tasted fresh and flavorful. Returned the next day with a friend for Waffle Wednesday. I ordered the white chocolate raspberry waffle and she ordered the strawberry fields. We loved them both. I also ordered a drink my mom had ordered the previous day and recommended, one of their specials, the root beer coffee smoothie (who would have thought of that combo?!?) and was again pleasantly surprised by the unique and smooth flavor. The first time I came, the staff was not overly friendly or polite. When I returned next, it was a different group and they all seemed happy to work there and served with smiles. The cosy atmosphere and rich coffee are what makes this café unique. It is a fun, small place that is the perfect picture of a coffee shop. I will defiantly be returning.

I swear this place is magic! This has become my "I don't have enough caffeine in me to deal to with this kind of traffic" coffee stop! What is amazing is that by the time I pull off the freeway, get my coffee, and get back on again, the traffic is gone. ... or, maybe I'm just too lost in my cup of warm deliciousness to care about tye traffic anymore! Great little place! Friendly staff. Cozy furniture. Probably 20 syrup flavors. They also habe a nice selection of muffins, etc. However, I'm pretty sure they must keep people coming back for the waffles! Looks like they have 20+ flavor combos, including bacon inside the waffles...and gluten free available, too!

Inferior coffee syrup brand used in espresso drinks. They put to little syrup / sauces in espresso drinks. I saw an employee simply dunk a plate in the sanitizer compartment for a split second and pull it out as if that met the time requirement for plates to sanitize. No timer on the espresso machine, how to they know that shots are being pulled for 21-25 seconds? Trick question, they don't know. Shots get pulled into metal glasses, not glass shot-glasses. How to you tell if the shot had a good crema? Another trick question, the don't know. They use different weights (in grams) for the same size air-pot of coffee depending upon the roast - the know NOTHING about drip coffee. Drip coffee brewed into metal-lined air-pot, not glass - thus taking away from coffee taste. They only change air-pot of coffee when it's almost empty, not based upon time. Therefor, if you go in before close and buy a roast that no one else wanted all day, it was probably brewed 12 hours prior - c'mon now! "Jamaican Me Crazy" blend tastes like toilet water, why would you offer a flavored drip roast in your line up? Eggs are "prepared" in a microwave. . . wow. Nepotism-based hiring system. All food container item's I've seen have been dated, but NOTHING is labeled. Shots are not tamped with proper amount of force. Milk always appears to be steamed to hot (probably to cover up the taste of the inferior drink preparation).

Organic espresso, 36 varieties of waffle styles, gluten-free waffle option (no GF bread at the time of this receive), and close to Interstate 35- can't go wrong! Staff very accommodating and the atmosphere relaxing even at 1pm on a weekday.

Absolutely love this place!! Has become one of my go-to spots, a good amount of seating available. The drinks are always so delicious & the gluten free waffles are amazing! Highly recommend :)

A great place to bring friends and enjoy a cup of coffee with delicious waffles

Honey neighborhood place. They serve waffles. I ordered a cinnamon cubano latte (I think) and enjoyed it thoroughly. I sat there reading for about an hour and they seem to do a good business - local stylists, businessmen and ladies meeting each other, passers by. They were training a new employee, too. All good signs that their product is probably rotating fairly quickly and they'll be here when I come back. Kind of grungy and there wasn't anybody cleaning the entire time I was there - pet peeve of mine. Workers were friendly but preoccupied, leaving customers waiting at times. Prices are as high or higher than chain shops, and the set-up and seating areas are awkward and mostly uncomfortable.

The Buzz is only the 2nd coffee shop that I have set foot in before, but they have a pretty wide range of food options and free WiFi so me and my friend decided to try it out for a business meeting. I am not a waffle guy (or coffee for that matter) but they have 2 menu's: one dedicated just to waffles and a second for everything else. I do like to stick to the specialties so I figured I would give a waffle a try. They have over 20 different "loaded" waffles that include s'mores waffle, pepperjack bacon waffle, "blueberry bomb", fruity pebbles waffle..you name it. I was intrigued by the Meat Lovers waffle that consists of bacon and ham baked inside the waffle with scrambled egg and sausage on top. I despise maple syrup but figured this would be a good combo that I could eat without any syrup. When it arrived at the table I gave out what I figured was a loud enough "ah-uggh" as I viewed a 12 inch hair baked inside my eggs that were lying on top. It was pretty repulsive and I wish she would have stopped there and said something. I opted to pull it out and continue with the meal. They have a great idea with their loaded waffles, but I was not impressed with the quantity or taste. Its an average size waffle with 1 scrambled egg on top, a pretty good supply of sausage but I could not taste the bacon or ham inside it. It was dull and needed syrup, but again this must be why I don't like waffles, syrup is just too sweet for me. At only $5.95 I should have realized it wasn't going to be a large meal by any means, that was my mistake. Overall, its hard for someone like me to rate a coffee shop when I don't even try the coffee, but the waffles look like something they are featured for and I wouldn't recommend them (hair or no hair)

My boyfriend and I tried this place out this morning, I was in waffle heaven! Every third Sunday they have all you can eat waffles for $6.00. I tried 3 different kind and all were amazing. They have both sweet and savory waffles to choose from. The service was great, the food was excellent, it was cozy and relaxing a bit loud but that's to be expected when there's lots of people in a smaller space.

Food/Drink: Coffee was average, nothing to write home about. I've had a few of their espresso drinks also and they're done pretty straightforwardly. Which is good if you're just here for the caffiene. They're not too strong and they have some juices and tea selection if that's what you're up to today. I've seen the food on the menu, but I think I'll pass or I'll maybe go for a simple baked items (be aware they do run out quickly...) Ambiance: One large table for groups, otherwise a bunch of single tables setup for the single worker or person/couple just trying to get a coffee and some quick grub. They have had some performances and they advertise quite a bit locally which is great. Service: Good, no complaints. I drank my coffee in, and she reminded me refills are free then which I appreciated (went straight to the tip jar). Tables are clean and the wifi is strong. Overall: Happy to come here for a few cups of coffee and to get some work done. No gimmick, just drink your coffee, work for an hour or so and get your day moving.

Fun little coffee shop. Its kinda awkward though when you are drinking your cup of coffee and eating a waffle and next door with the windows covered up is a cigar shoppe full of business man having happy hour smoking away but other than that fact this place is a great for a small snack that you can share or decide to be greedy. I like the bacon jalapeno waffles definitely something different. They didn't have much bakery items that looked super amazing. Everything is very inexpensive prices are reasonable for being a coffee shop. Small tip they close early around 6 ish most days so get there early not very office hour friendly for those looking to grab dinner. Do come on WEDS when there's a discount on their waffles!

I love the Panini Caprese there. It's so delicious. I don't know what they put in the green pesto but it's amazing. Their coffee smoothies are really good too. A small coffee smoothie is enough for me. It seems like they flavor the whip cream with vanilla because it's extra good.

Holy deliciousness, Batman! The drive down to Burnsville was totally worth it. I've heard good things about this place and I wanted to try it out for myself. The Waffle Menu here is amazing, I was salivating as I was standing in line. I decided to go for the S'mores... For the people that put syrup on waffles that already have drizzle on them - that's just strange.

A fun little place that provides a break from the typical coffee shop. People linger and it's not a huge place, but usually there's enough space. I feel like it's akin to having breakfast at a friend's house- nothing super amazing but it's comfortable and fun. This is not a place for foodies with high expectations, but more for laid back locals who want to chill for an hour over a mug of coffee and maybe a random waffle (they're pretty yummy). I like their Cubano drink best. Nutella waffles are delish but more dessert than breakfast (I don't mind!).

Have had mixed experiences here...at times the counter personnel have been downright cranky. Last time I was there with my son for the waffles, he instantly plugged his nose when we walked in due to the lingering stench of cigar smoke that seeps through the wall from neighboring "Burn." I tried the GF waffles and they were nasty. I commented about it and the employee there said they'd changed their mix recently. Would not go back for those again.

We went back and had waffles...good thing we got there at 1:45 because on the groupon it looks like they always serve waffles but they don't, they stop at 2. They were good, creative, light and fluffy. They weren't any nicer and I wouldn't go out of my way to go but it was good. Just nothing that would pull me back there.

I love waffles, and the waffles we had did not disappoint. I had the bacon with pepperjack. My wife had the cranberry with cream cheese. It's nothing too fancy, just pure deliciousness. Great location, friendly staff, and good coffee. I can't wait to go back for more!

Great food, great service and the price is a great value. The waffles are fabulous and if you're brave enough to try different combinations on their menu you are going to be pleasantly surprised more often than not. All you can eat waffles once a month.

Ate here for the first time today. Used a groupon and it was fantastic!!! Waffles are awesome and the coffee is great, too!! Will definitely make the drive from Minneapolis to Burnsville again!

We stopped in here while looking for an office building. We were super hungry and just came upon this cafe. The waffle choices were vast and very exciting. I ordered the Country Waffle without sausage and my roommate had the Peanut Butter and Banana Waffle. The food came quickly and was nice and hot. The waffles were crisp and everything a waffle should be. I didn't love my flavor/toppings, so I want to come back and try another one! Plus, half-price waffles on Wednesdays!

For Hot Chocolate/Cocoa drinkers: Not the place for hot chocolate. I misunderstood that the "spiced hot cocoa" was a combination of chocolate and mocha. I got to work and took a sip and thought it was a mistake because it smelled and tasted like a latte. Took it back and the woman who helped me later said, "did you give him a latte?" and then they explained the "spiced" hot cocoa was actually with a shot of mocha, much different than my thoughts of either some kind of winter pumpkin spice or a chile-based punch. I apologized for my misunderstanding and they made me a regular hot cocoa. I mean I saw ghiradelli products, but the regular also tasted a bit off. An acrid marshmellow weird taste, no chocolate taste at all. But one of the most amazing froths I've ever encountered. Bottom line: Looking for chocolaty-tasting hot chocolate, don't look for that here. Into adventure and mixing things up like that multicolor card when playing uno? Order any of the hot chocolates and hopefully you'll be presented with a beverage that you might just enjoy that's not hot chocolate! Counterstaff seems to know everyone and cordial, customers are very relaxed. A nice small business, so go support, especially if you like coffee, which it sounds like they do well.

We ordered a cinnamon roll waffle and a creme d'caramel waffle along with a honey cubano and a toffee mocha coffee. All were excellent! The texture of the waffles were amazing and though the cinnamon roll waffle was a bit less flavorful than the caramel companion, I would still eat it again. The atmosphere is open with all types of people coming and going. A must try!!

What a great find - The Buzz serves fantastic waffles and great coffee. Perfect brunch spot. Waits can be a little long, but there are plenty of way to entertain yourself while waiting - communal books, games, people-watching. Kid-friendly too! I wil be back many many times!

Food was OK Lots of noise. Very tight/close seating. Very busy. Our table was not cleaned after the previous customers left. The 3 employees that were there when we went seemed overloaded and stressed.

Hot & cold, just like the menu options. I have to say, the richly flavored non-fat capp I enjoyed as take-away yesterday was wonderful! The coffee was roasted well & brewed at a perfect consistency & temperature. Great job on my coffee drink....and that IS why I stopped, so can't complain about taste or value. However, I would caution anyone who expects to walk in and be greeted warmly at The Buzz. I think the 2 women behind the counter on Thursday had been working too closely; maybe it should have been break time? Grouchy, flustered, not completely connecting with new friendly faces (there were 3 of us ordering quite simple drinks).....a bit of a disappointment there :(

First time was great, 2nd time not so much. Used less than fresh fruit on the waffles. Not very appetizing. I'll give them one more try because the 1st time was so good.

My wife and I have visited this independent coffee shop twice (we live pretty far away). We originally came because we like supporting businesses that aren't chains. Chains destroy variety. I like the coffee here because it actually tastes like coffee. Most of the coffee chains create beverages that are mostly syrup. The barista/owner is very friendly and genuinely cares about his craft. The menu items are well made with generous portions. My wife likes the breakfast sandwiches. I like the oatmeal. My kids love the waffles.

This place is fantastic! It will make you forget you are in the middle of the sprawling corporate wasteland known as the southern suburbs. I found it by accident and would definitely come back if I lived/worked in the area. They have excellent daily specials a cool vibe and live music on the weekends. It's not just coffee... they have a cafe, too, with lunch and breakfast items.

We had groupons for waffles so we went there for breakfast last week. My son ordered a "fruit filled" waffle (as stated by the menu), and i ordered the Denver. My son's waffle had no fruit inside, and only a small handful of some kind of fruit-like substance on top. Likewise, my Denver had very little ham, cheese, and veggies. Had we paid full price, we would have asked them to re-make them correctly. We mentioned these issues to one of the employees, and they just shrugged their shoulders and said "thanks for telling us". They did not offer any compensation, no offer to remake, nothing. If you're looking for a satisfying dining experience, i suggest that you look elsewhere.

Went there for Sunday morning waffles. I got the Apple Crisp. Boring and didn't even taste the apples. Disappointed. My BF got the cranberry waffle - plain waffle topped with cranberry filing and whipped cream and he loved it. Cute little coffee shop. I've had their muffins before which are delicious and only $1 on Mondays.

Love The Buzz! Open early and late weekdays and weekends. Great coffee and location! Their coffee isn't outrageously priced or uncomparable to your big chain coffee shops. Sign up for the emails updates - you'll get $1.00 off a large cup of coffee - which means it is $.91! Or random updates and specials. Such as a medium ice tea or lemonade for $.50 on hot days. I'm a huge Starbuck's fan, but there isn't one nearby (it closed), only a Caribou... that doesn't compete. Buzz is located in a small strip mall, right next to Burn, a cigar shop. Buzz is cutely decorated and the owner is fantastic. He has a strong background in coffee and knows it well. He'll chat your ear off it you let him! Buzz also serves a small menu of breakfast items - eggs, waffles, lunch/dinner items - sandwhiches, wraps, hot dogs, soup, etc... Get a punch card and you'll rack up a free beverage.

I found this place through Yelp and decided to give it a go. When it comes to any local business, I try and support them when I can. This place is truely a gem with big corporate coffee chains out there its nice to find a cafe with soul. The drink I got was the Cinn-o-Nutt latte and I got the reuben sandwich. The drink was delish and the reuben was tasty. Next time I'm in Burnsville, I will definetly come back.

Went here with the girl for brunch one day, and it turned out to be a pretty awesome decision. I got the texas breakfast(or something to that degree), and a turtle mocha coffee. The food was great, as was the coffee. Can't complain about the atmosphere either, while I was sitting there enjoying my breakfast I overheard the owner have several conversations with different customers about their family, and how things were. It's always nice to visit a shop where the staff gets to know and appreciate their customers!!! Go for a good coffee, a nice meal, and a pleasant place to sit for a while!!
