I'm not a big chain fan, but have always got a good "Perkins" meal here. We live nearby and have never been disappointed. (It is Perkins, so don't expect amazing, but it's pretty good for the price.)

I love a good Perkins breakfast on a Sunday afternoon, but the experience I'm having at this location at this very moment is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. First, the hostess was gruff and rude when showing us to the table. But she's always like that when we come here so I've come to expect it, almost like the "quaint peculiarities of a small town diner". Second, they have seating that is right outside of the kitchen and right in front of the server station. I'm ok with the kitchen door being right there. Even though it's loud and you can see how unclean it is, your food is hopefully a little more like warm when it comes out then if we say farther away. The server station situation is a little weirder. If you got time to lean, you got time to stare at the guests eating their food three feet away. Not to mention the staff gossiping and complaining loudly about things that should not be discussed in front of any guest of any business. We now know that one lady is so upset with her coworker for cutting lemons incorrectly and also cannot wait to get out of here. There is also the server who is taking from the till, but because of the way it has been handled, cannot be fired at this time. Now, approximately 30 minutes after ordering we finally have food. So I'm going to close this review at this point and hope the food at least turns things around to deserve this one star.

I ate there for the first time today and I normally love Perkins, but not this one! All of our meals were dumped into the to go box as if it went through a blender, like dumping food for pigs into a trough. The host at the register was rude and after I paid for the food he was so concerned about taking out his tip that he didn't even give me my food. After standing there staring at him for about a minute, he pointed at the to go bags next to him behind the counter and said "here's your food" but didn't hand it to me. I had to lean over the counter to get the bags, it was very rude and honestly quite strange!

It was late morning and 3 others and I were seated immediately. We were immediately greeted and our drink orders were promptly taken. Our server, Ross, was obviously a good salesmen, but seemed very scripted and artificial. He was brisk and professional but slightly forgetful and a pinch rude. Our food was as expected for an interstate Perkins. I had the 'everything omelet' which was good but a bit cheesy for my preferences. If you enjoy cheese I would recommend it. The coffee and blueberry muffin were exceptionally good. Overall it was a satisfactory breakfast experience but nothing particularly special.

I walked in and was waiting for someone to show me to a table. A large group was disbanding, heading for the cashier. The manager walked past me (I was there first) and said he'd get someone in a minute. He proceeded to ring checks. I saw him press a button to summon help. Nada. He pressed it again. Nada. And again. Someone finally came and showed me to a table. No, thanks, I won't have any coffee but I'll have the eggs benedict with a poached egg instead of a basted egg. And fruit. The meal came -- no undue delay there -- and the server (who has been there for years) apologized for the basted egg -- she had noticed it wasn't poached and asked if I wanted it redone. Nah, that's okay, I'M HUNGRY. The fresh fruit was five red grapes and some small pieces of underripe cantaloupe and honeydew and pineapple tidbits that had been rinsed in water--they were devoid of flavor. Whatever. She brought the check and left. I looked at the check and saw I'd been charged for coffee. Figured I'd take it up with the manager when I paid the bill and mention the screwed up order and green fruit while I was at it. Waitress was at the cashier, not the manager. I said I didn't have coffee and she said, "I didn't think you did." WTF? If she didn't think I did, why did she give me a bill that included it? Muffins to go, please. The box was on her side of the counter and she tells me to not forget my muffins. How about maybe you hand them to me? The place has declined. Next time I'll drive to Al's in Dinkytown and get real hollandaise sauce.

Cheap, friendly and empty on a Monday morning.
