I normally love Olive Garden but this one was a dud. We walk in and the hostess who seated us was rude. When we got to our table there was food all over it and she placed our silverware and menus down without seeming to notice. Our server took about 10 minutes to even come over to take our drink order. We also witnessed staff cleaning other tables and not wiping them down. After we ordered we got our appetizers and salad which only had dressing at the bottom of the bowl but didn't get breadsticks. We finally asked for them after we got our food. I will definitely avoid this olive garden in the future.

This was my last try at Olive Garden. We went yesterday for my daughters 6th birthday because it was her choice. Without a word said, as we stood in the foyer, the hostess grabs silverware and walks away, then she came back and still without a word nodded that we should follow her. There was no way to know that without her speaking, she never said a word to us. I only heard her speak Spanish to the others at the hostess stand, maybe she doesn't speak English so I won't make a big deal. Oh well. Sat at our table that was wobbly and slanted, our drinks spilled a bit as the waiter sat them down and the table tilted. Stuck our napkins under the legs to even it out. Would've been nice to simply have a new table. I had Tour of Italy w/ chicken parm, fettuccine, and tortellini. I could NOT cut my chicken! There was some weird tendon(?) or something running down the center, and the breading slid off to reveal a shiny reddish color to the top of the breast that was rubbery and could be peeled away. I gave up, but was then grossed out and didn't want the rest. It seemed like the chicken had been microwaved. Didn't want to complain and bring negativity to my daughters birthday dinner. Husband didn't like his food either, he thought it was very bland. Our other daughter, 18, had Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo and liked it just fine. They did not honor the free birthday dessert because our 6yr old had not signed up for "e-club," so that was a bummer. I signed up then and there with the gaudy, dirty tablet on the table but still couldn't get the birthday dessert because it was not MY birthday. Whatever. Also, be careful of the tablet on the table used for various things including paying your bill at the end. If you touch the game icon it's very easy to accidentally add charges to your bill. Our daughter touched it for a game and it said something like "thank you for your purchase of 1.99, it will be added to your bill," thats not okay. You don't trick your customers into extra charges, and you can play with your phone for free. My husband didn't like the tablet for paying either, but I didn't mind. Cuts out waiting for the check. But also be careful with that, if your not paying attention it may auto choose your tip amount at 20%. Normally we are very good tippers, but with the bad food, bad table, and bad drink, and bad service, I couldn't do more than 15%, and that was only because the server doesn't own OG and can't help the situation.

Food is usually pretty good and the service is ok. It's an atmosphere for if you aren't sure what you are in the mood for. My favorite is the Zuppa Toscana and salad. Not a fan of most of the pasta as the noodles taste like starch and are either crunchy or over cooked. It's a great place for families though. I will continue going from time to time.

9 out 10 times I get great service and food, but the food is pretty genaral. Soup and salad is my favorite meal to get there it's light and filling and rarely it's messed up.

I feel Olive Garden is your average sit-down chain restaurant, however I eat there about once a year and I'm always satisfied with the food and service, I've really never had a problem. The all you can eat salad or soup is always tasty and a great starter along with the bread sticks. At least once a year they have bottomless pasta, however its always packed any night of the week so come for lunch or an odd time. Pros: Good all you can eat salad and bread sticks that comes standard with any entree. I visit about once a year and the ever changing menu gives me a new entree to try every time I come. The entrees are always prepared consistently so if you find something that you really like it typically will always be satisfying each time you come. Cons: This location is a nightmare on weekend nights and you can wait over an hour to get seated. There is some good nooks to be seated at, but the main dining areas are crowded and oddly configured. When I visited at lunch they had an offer going on where you could pick 2 entrees for around $18. One to eat now and another to bring home for dinner. Although it was an interesting offer, I must admit that nuking up the dinner wasn't very tasty and I wouldn't recommend. Instead, fill yourself up on tasty salad and bread sticks and then bring part of your entree home for left overs.

Food was pretty good, not superb but the service was great. Put the wrong sauce on my chicken Alfredo which wasn't a big deal but the manager went above and beyond to take care of us.

We went for the recent Jukebox the Ghost concert and is mostly centered around the fact that we ordered the "Dinner and Show" package. In my opinion, totally worth it! The food was pretty good, and I feel like you get your ~$20 out of it for the upgrade. Plus you get to sit down for all the acts. If you want to stand-up and get close up, you can always head down to the ground floor during the headliner (which many people in the dinner loft did). Even better for us who stayed, as there was an unobstructed view to the stage, which me (I'm short) and my wife (she's shorter) took advantage of. This is going to sound a bit weird, but their ranch dressing is really good. It's made in house, and if you get the dinner option, and they offer you a salad dressing. Go ranch. It's all garlicky and delicious. Steak was a bit chewy, the fish and chips were a more solid option, although the lasagna looked good as well. Table service was great. The waitresses were really nice and will keep you fed and boozed until the headliner goes up. Jukebox the Ghost is also an amazing live show. Just had to put that here.

The food quality is the same as any Olive Garden. The drawback of this location is that it seems to be really busy. My experience today was that the place was really loud, and my food took a while. Still, overall a solid food choice.

Had lunch here today. Flavorless mushrooms as an app. Really lousy entrees mushroom stuffed ravioli in a cheese sauce I cook better Italian at home. This place sucks. If dining out for Italian I will go to buca down the road.

I used to be a die hard Olive Garden fan. About 20 years ago, when I lived in Pennsylvania, I went at least once a week. My favorite? Plain ol' spaghetti and meatballs with tomato sauce. The food was good, the price was reasonable. I have a few things to say about OG in general: The prices have gotten a little out of control. For what we pay for a normal meal for 3, you would expect a much better dining experience at a better restaurant. A year or two ago, they changed their tomato sauce. I actually sent it back the kitchen because something was "off". I was explained to that the sauce itself had been changed chain-wide. The new sauce is like a Hunt's tomato paste. I'm sure it's cheaper. And it doesn't taste good. ...and about this site in Burnsville: I don't blame them for the crowds. What can they do? They are popular on weekends. If you don't want to wait, don't go on Fri - Sun at peak hours. Their take-out has really disappointed me. The kids in my and my neighbor's family still love OG so we get it every so often (usually as take-out). Two visits ago, we got a meals for 4 adults and 3 children and they sent us packing with no salad dressing! My last visit was last night and when I asked to tomato sauce, I was given meat sauce (they even read it back to me as tomato sauce). Needless to say, that meal is now in the refrigerator waiting for someone else to eat it because I won't. If you get take-out, check your order before you leave regardless of the crowd at the time or the inconvenience of having to dig through all your meals.... Salad and breadsticks are wonderful, as usual, but the rest can and should be looked at. Sit down meals, for the most part, have been fine. Friendly staff and decent service.

This is review is solely for the General Manager John of this location. My husband and I had a bad experience and I had filled out the customer feedback form on their website. John contacted me this morning to apologize for the experience and to hopefully welcome us back. Absolutely! When a manager takes the time to read the feedback and follow up with a situation, I will always give them a second chance. Thank you John!

Only good for breadsticks and salad , the rest is so blah and Americanized it is ridiculous, but then again this what most people eat in the US...you can have it!

My girlfriend and myself ate here awhile back and we both liked it. I had the pizzaiola meat sauce with angel hair pasta and it was really good. The salad and the breadstix were good as well. The place was packed but, we did get there around 7:00pm. Our bill for 2 people was about $24.00 which is cheap for dinner. We enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere and we will be back.

We thought that by getting there at 5:45 for dinner, there wouldn't be any waits and whatnot, but....holy moly! I didn't know Olive Garden was THE place to be at that time. We waited for about 1/2 hour to get a table for 4. The service was fine. But the food was really salty! And my pasta as overcooked. My husband could usually finish his plate, but he said his was pretty salty too. And he was so ready to take it to work for lunch the next day, but disappointed with the taste, he decided to have the waiter take his plate. All in all, it's Olive Garden....expectations aren't that high. If you're looking for Italian, go elsewhere.

Wow! I would like to start by saying that this review is not a hit piece by intent but this is some of the worst food I've ever eaten for $13! I had my wife grab some takeout for me while she was at out with my Mother for lunch. I decided to have her get Spaghetti and Meatballs as it's damn near impossible to screw up and re-heats fairly well. I expected the food to arrive cold and re-heat it myself but it was still hot when it arrived (15 min drive). I started to eat the food and discovered that the meatballs were the worst I have ever had. The consistency was similar to TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) and quite obviously from frozen. The noodles were spongy and, again, pre-portioned and microwaved. The most amazing thing is that it was clearly microwaved in the takeout container at the restaurant. I had mentioned to my wife that one side was hot and one side was cool. She asked, "Can you microwave in those containers?" I said, "Yes." I then noticed that the polystyrene plastic of the container was buckled on the hot side and was buckled on the bottom as well. Seriously? They microwaved a takeout container of Spaghetti and Meatballs? I would recommend any canned or frozen Spaghetti and Meatballs over this. They couldn't microwave it in a dish and then pour it in the container? It's a d*mn meatball!. Here's how to make a meatball: Step 1: Take some meat and make it into a ball. Step 2: Cook the d*mn thing! Step 3: Eat it.! Now, this may be an over-simplification, but with the minor addition of breadcrumbs, eggs, basil, oregano, and salt, this should be a daily restaurant prep process that shouldn't take more than 1/2 an hour. I am embarrassed that Olive Garden exists in my town. Please begin cooking food, not microwaving it.

Poor food quality, both in prep and flavor, when they are busy.

This place has terrible service and I will not come here ever again! Even if you think it's not going to happen to you, just don't come here! They need to get shut down! They add more meals onto the bill and most people don't even read theirs! They hike up the prices way high!

Olive Garden is an example of the type of restaurants that I typically try to avoid. However, after waiting in line forever to see Santa, we let our children select the dinner location. It has been YEARS since I have been to OG. It was exactly the same as it has always been. The server was very nice and did a great job with the exception of not filling our drinks even once throughout the meal. For a starter, we had their calamari which honestly left a lot to desire. My husband got their seafood alfredo which he said was about a 5 on a 1-10 scale. I had the soup and salad which is the safest thing on their menu simply because I know that their potato soup is enjoyable with its creaminess and spice. And our two children got variations off of the kid's menu. I did like that they could get grapes and broccoli instead of french fries or pasta. One thing that I did enjoy considerably more than I thought I would is their dessert. They had this really good chocolate layer mousse cake with ganache on top that was pure decadence. We also selected a raspberry cheesecake that was pretty good. Most likely, it will be years before we go here again unless it is just to pick up some cake to go.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
