Husband and I sat at the bar, which is gorgeous--very chic and sophisticated and hip. The service was quite friendly. The piano player that evening was wonderfully talented and a joy to listen to. So why only two stars? We each ordered a drink. My pinot grigio was $9, which I thought was pricey, but I was willing to overlook that for the fancy venue. My husband's beer was $7. Again, expensive, but oh well. However, both our drinks had this skunky, funky, moldy odor. They were barely drinkable. I mean, think of drinking stale beer out of a plastic cup in the mustiest basement bar you've ever been in--that's what it reminded us of. I think if it hadn't been for the incredible pianist, we would have refused to pay for those nasty drinks and just walked out. As it was, we had been planning to order dinner at the bar, but after the initial ickiness, we opted out.

Best linguine with clams I've ever had, and I oftentimes have it! Great food, great service!

Love it Everyone is so friendly here! This is hands down the best service I've had at any restaurant before, I'm very impressed! We were greeted and seated quickly, the waiter was all-smiles and he thoroughly explained all of the dishes with enthusiasm. He checked in on us a few times during the meal too to make sure everything was tasting good and if we needed any fresh pepper or parmesan, lemon, etc. I also loved that our waters were being filled constantly and the woman was very sweet and polite. We had a group of 4; 2 got the tuna sandwich with their house made chips, 1 got the turkey sandwich with the parma salad, and I got the ravioli ($13). The noodles are made in house daily, and it had fresh roasted tomatoes and garlic. It tasted so fresh and authentic! I would definitely get that again. I highly recommend this place!

Had dinner at Parma tonight and really enjoyed it. Sat down and was promptly served bread and water, drinks took a little longer, but we were not in a hurry so it was fine. Jenna arrived and took our drink order, we ordered a couple really great tasting cocktails, Spicy Citrus and Moonrise Kingdom, kuddos to the bartenders. We couldn't decide on food choices, and Jenna was great in helping, very knowledgeable and friendly. I truly appreciate when servers have an opinion and suggestions. We ordered the rice balls as an appetizer, great choice, very, very good. Up next was the watermelon salad, wow, this was a surprise, did not expect we would enjoy this so much! Appetizers and salad were timed well, but our entrees took quite a long time. Not sure where the slow down occurred, but we waited over 30 minutes for the entrees to show up. Again, we weren't in a hurry, but had we been, this would have created a problem. Finally the Halibut and Bucatini showed up. Great choices. We added the shrimp on to the Bucatini and that was a good option. Halibut was really good, but the highlight was the gnocchi served with it. A really great entree! Overall, would recommend. Service was really good, other than the slowdown we experienced. Would be nice if they could figure out that slight service piece, then I would be giving 5 stars! (Almost forgot! Took the butterscotch panna cotta home for dessert, wow, so glad we didn't skip this, yummy!!!!!)

Great service and food is quite delicious. I had the sirloin and it was cooked perfect to medium. An assortment of apps were ordered for our table and the rice balls really stood out. Great atmosphere.

Rice Balls must order. Butterscotch Desert Must order. This is a good menu from Pasta to Seafood to even a good steak. The location is not perfect for the weekend night outs. But I believe it is worth the trip. That little outdoor patio in the summer is a gem!

It's the middle of winter and I'm thinking longingly about Parma 8200's patio...... The food here is good; I've been here once for dinner and about a million times for their happy hour. Amongst a sea of office buildings, parking lots and winding, confusing roads is Parma 8200. And in the back of the restaurant, outside the door is Parma's oasis of a patio. It oddly enough has a pool table (billiards if you're fancy!) off to the side, which is random and a bit out of place. It's open, breezy and relaxing; everything you want in a patio. Right now, it's below zero outside, but in my mind I'm going to Carolinaaaaa... Just kidding, James Taylor. In my mind I'm on Parma's patio sipping wine and enjoying much better weather than we've got right now.

My coworkers and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch this week because it was one of the featured restaurant week deals and the D'Amico family of restaurants has yet to steer me wrong. It's tucked away in a business park, in a really nice building, but the restaurant ambiance is even nicer. Very clean, contemporary styling inside makes it feel like a classy place you could go for lunch with a client or get cocktails on a weekend for an evening. Apparently their "Restaurant Week" deal is their everyday lunch combo, so if you are looking for something that isn't typically affordable but on special for the occasion this would not be my top choice. However, the food was good and ten dollars for a pick two deal was a nice value. I ordered the house salad and the half turkey sandwich with avocado and bacon. All the food was tasty, nothing to rave or gripe about, just a solid lunch. I picture myself coming back for a summer happy hour on the patio rather than for another meal, but I would definitely come give it another try.

Tasty restaurant, the food was all good and fresh, typical Italian. I thought date night on Sunday evening was a good deal. The butterscotch dessert was amazing!!! I also recommend dining in the outdoor patio if it's nice out. It is beautiful out there and you can enjoy the few short months of summer:) it was pretty windy (maybe just this time of year in June?) but the wind would come and go, and it wasn't a major problem.

My wife and I went there for her birthday. The vibe is pretty neat for being in a office building complex. Service was good and food was average. There was a cool breeze in the part of the dining room that made it a bit uncomfortable most of the evening.

I loved the atmosphere of this location, despite it being hidden and difficult to find. The food was good but not for the price. It wouldn't be the first place I go back to but I would eat again if a friend requested it.

I made a reservation for Aug 22, 2014 for a special birthday dinner for 4. They seated us in the back corner for the restaurant and were served by Maggie. We had cocktails, wine, apps, lovely - everything is usually fantastic! We ordered dinner and I asked about a new item on the menu: Crab Linguine with chile, toasted garlic, almonds and lemon $22.5. When the dish arrive it was absolutely covered in green onion (and I really dislike green onions), no one had mentioned green onions when describing this dish verbally or written on the menu. I told the waitress I didn't love the taste of the green onions nor did I understand the dish would be COATED in them. It was not like you could just scrape them off, they were everywhere (really odd for a pasta dish to be covered in green onions and no mention of that). Anyway, I asked if I could instead get a simple pasta as a replacement - I did not even indicate which pasta, said I would be happy with anything - as everyone else was already eating. She brought me a pasta with tomato sauce (which was great) and I ate it happily. When the bill was dropped they had charged me for both pastas. I waited 10 minutes for the waitress to return and she did not. Everyone was waiting to leave and since I was paying for dinner and did not want to make my guests feel awkard. I went to the host stand and waited for a few minutes, again no one was available. So, I ended up paying $40 for 1 simple tomato pasta dish. I was very disappointed that Parma did not just replace the pasta on the bill, but instead charged me for both. Not very customer service friendly, especially when you have a $200+ bill.

Great food, amazing Sunday dinner deal! It's a little odd to get there as you have to park in the ramp of an office building but it's worth it when you get in. We have only ever gone for the Sunday deal (that all D'amico restaurants have) but it was fantastic. As a random note, the wait staff was all incredibly tall

I was very excited to eat here after reading all the reviews. I made reservations on yelp and got set to go. When we got there (my husband and I) they sat us at a table that was in doorway even though lots of other tables were available. Someone came and got our drink order and told us our waiter would be with us shortly. It took a long time until our waiter showed up. It was exactly an hour before our appetizers showed up. Then we waited some more for the entrees which was fish. Then as you can guess we waited some more for the Panna Cotta which was very good. So the service we received was unacceptable for a place of this quality, the food however was very good.

Reasonably good service and food though many of the menu items seemed overpriced. The restaurant design and space is very nice with clearly a goal of excellent service and food. However the music is horrendous old top 40 hits that are annoying and obnoxious with cheap speakers in the background adding to the noise. When I mentioned something to the manager she said that the owner was adamant about his music selection and that it came out of New York! Really?! Not good. Turn it off, folks!

Went to dinner here with a large group and was very unimpressed. The atmosphere is drab and the food is not worth the price. I am a huge fan of the other D'amico restaurants, but I would not recommend Parma - there are plenty of better Italian restaurants in the city!

We visited Parma 8200 on a Friday night. As others have said - we did find it hard to find even after doing the research and reading reviews. Once there we were greeted and seated in a nice both in the rear of the restaurant. Our server Maggie was excellent. Right after ordering, it occurred to me that we were sitting next to an empty 12 top table. I wondered about it but figured it was a large group - no big deal for me. Boy was I wrong. Inbound from the front was 3 couples and 6 young kids. And what did they act like - go figure - kids. They were loud and rambunctious and distracting. I am not a child hater, but I just felt these couples were rude to bring these kids in to what is arguably a high end restaurant for dinner on a Friday. The kids were so loud that our server Maggie had to apologize because she had to yell the dessert choices to us so we could hear her. Ridiculous. We ended up 86'ing dessert and left because of the group next to us. I don't hold this against Parma 8200 - I don't think they can prevent people from bringing kids - I blame the parents who decided to have a nice night out with half a second grade classroom. I was really happy with the food - and I think Maggie was excellent so I give 5 stars. I think that evening my experience was more of a 1-2 star night. Parents - be considerate of others and either head to a family restaurant or get a sitter. PS - Maggie if you read this thanks for grabbing my cell phone for me when I forgot it! I should have slipped you another $20 at the time, but those kids had me so knackered I was off my game. Send me a message and tell me what I ordered and I will ship it to you in the mail!

Without a doubt, one must order the linguine with clams. The watermelon salad is a refreshing appetizer. I also loved the taste of the vanilla bean soda.

We went back for the first time in about 2 years. This was one of our favorites, but no longer can we give it that acclaim. Service was decent. Server gave a solid overview of the menu and recommended some good wine. Although, there were a few times where it appears like the server was eating something has they approached our table. Kind of unprofessional, but overall they were cordial. Food was average. Veal Cannelloni and Panna Cotta were excellent. Pork Osso Bucco had potential but lacked balance. It needed some more acid and risotto to offset the shank. Calamari was below average, expected more since Campiello, sister restaurant, has some of the best in the city. My wife plucked a hair from the plate, which happens, but was a very negative moment for the meal. We should have said something, but the Minnesota nice took hold. Overall, decent restaurant worth a try but we will spend our money elsewhere from now on.

Insanely over priced. $35 for a child's portion of Halibut, drenched in a piccata sauce (lemon, butter and capers), with three pieces of gnocchi? I suppose if you absolutely have to eat at a trendy establishment, this place is for you. These people are laughing all the way to the bank...on your dime! Do the math...Halibut and a glass of wine....$50! This place wont last. As soon as the bloom is off the rose they will close.

Wow, what a truly inconvenient venue. From waiting for the valet to waiting for the coat check to taking 2 3/4's hours for dinner, it was sloooow! Food was good but overpriced. Avoid the bar, I was charged $18 for a McCallan 12 year old and got a thimble full of whiskey. When I got home I noticed that I had been charged $2 additional because I ordered it neat. I called and questioned this, got an exasperated manager who told me they would credit me the two dollars because I complained. Really, you want to cheat your own customers and see if they catch you? Go to Kincaid's. Same office complex, an honest bartender and resteraunt.

I went here last week and had a wonderful experience. Let me start off by saying that I read a few reviews prior to going to Parma 8200, and one thing that people couldn't seem to decide on was the quality of service. I can only speak from my experience, but the wait staff was excellent. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, explained the specials in detail, and made recommendations. Our food was brought out promptly and by several people simultaneously (I was with group of 5) and we were constantly being attended to-- but not in an annoying way. As a group we started off with the calamari. I would say the calamari itself was fairly average, but I really liked their unique take on the jalapeno garnish because I like spicy food. Next, I split the beet salad with one of my co-workers. I ordered it because it sounded very different, and it was. I'm not sure that I'd order it again, but it was certainly tasty and a nice change up from a standard dinner salad. For my entree I ordered the sea bass but I substituted the caramelized gnocchi for vegetables. It was delicious! I also had the pleasure of trying one of the lamb meatballs that was in my co-worker's pasta dish and that was excellent too. Although the entree's were definitely a hit with everyone, I'd have to say the best part of this meal were the desserts. We ordered the Butterscotch Panna Cotta, the Cannolli, and the Warm Almond Crepes. All of them were AMAZING! I'd probably say the panna cotta topped my list, but that's only personal preference, they were all truly fantastic.

I usually don't write reviews but felt I needed to. My dining companions were anticipating a great meal after a memorable meal three years prior and are now happy to forget. Service on the patio was slow although it was a Monday night which would have been forgivable if the old was good. It was terrible other than the bread. (The free bread and whipped butter, not the puffed bread with melted cheese spread) tuna carpachio was too salty with the park and roe added. Pea salad was ok as was the house but neither memorable. Crab and linguine wad tasteless and the penne with tomato sauce could have come from a jar. None of the dishes are easy to screw up but somehow Parma successfully did. There is no question that there are better places to spend $70 per person for a couple of drinks and dinner. Will not be going back..

Nice little gem in an office building complex. If I worked there I would go regularly, especially for the happy hour- great deal! Since I don't work there, it was an adventure (well worth it) parking and finding Parma. First, try the Parma Sliders- two tasty perfectly toasted buns with a sweetness coming from caramelized onions. The patties themselves are juicy and topped with melted cheese, they are a bit of paradise! The only downside is Parma is still on the pork belly trend and they added belly to the meat which didn't do much for flavor but did add a bit of a stringy texture. I am so done with the pork belly fad. I can say that with certainty as I rode the wave and definitely have had my share! Second, if you are with friends try the Gnocco Fries. I say friends because it is a large portion of fried doe that is topped with parmesan cheese and served with a spread of whipped ricotta and pancetta. The spread is delicious; I would eat it on toast! Being there solo, having a couple of Fultons (local brew), the sliders and the generous Gnocco portion left me full. Lastly, go for happy hour, all of the above was delicious and under $20, beers included. Crowd was minimal and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the food.

Another D'Amico franchise that's got it down! 2 items for $9.99?! Like, a 22-dollar tab after a lunch meeting, with good, efficient service and some high-caliber cuisine? Bingo Bango. I had the tomato soup and a tuna sandwich. Sounds pretty standard, right? Well, the tomato soup was fire roasted tomato soup, with a floating oasis of chevre in the middle, bursting with flavor. The tuna sandwich was thick, meaty tuna, with a sweet onion chutney and olives, on a housemade baguette. No mayo whatsoever. And then, the chips. They were deli-thin, flash fried and served with a garlic/herb garnish. Not really a fan of garlic, especially over lunch, but they're crunchiness and twisted gloriousness paired greatly with the soup. My counterpart ordered the garganelli (square and textured egg pasta, sealed by hand to form a loose ring) bolognese dish. Superb. House salad, a little underwhelming considering how everything else was. I left my lunch meeting feeling extremely satisfied. Like I won at something. There is a way to have a productive lunch meeting and not sacrifice quality. Parma8200 runs on all cylinders and has it's game down for the proverbial Normandale lunch rush. Find a reason to swing through or schedule a meeting there.

Wow! I didn't even know this D'Amico restaurant existed, and by looking at the low number of reviews (only 34 prior to me...) apparently others in the Cities aren't aware either. A work colleague suggested this location for our lunch meeting, and I could not have been more pleased! Service was fantastic! Super friendly.... fast....efficient... and we even had 4 servers bring all of our entrees out at the same time. Pretty cool! Loved the decor...upscale chic! For lunch they have a bunch of great $9.99 specials where you can select an antipasti and a "segondi course". (When technically it should be a Primi Piatti, right?) But.... i went off the regular menu and had the divine Sea Bass w/ asparagus and olive tapenade. Less than 500 calories too -- it was soooooo good! Plus they give you a small plate of cheesy bread triangles for starters. It is a little hidden.... you kinda have to drive around, but just look for the 8200 building and you'll find Parma on the first floor. I'm definitely looking fwd to dining here again. :)

$18 for a measley pour of a mediocre scotch. We had just come from Bluepoint where a much better scotch was $11 for a healthy pour. Even downtown, better scotchs than the Tallikser we had at Parma, are much less. WILL NOT GO BACK!

Solid Italian restaurant, but I wouldn't make the drive out to Bloomington for it again. If I lived there, I might consider going back. This restaurant is part of the D'Amico family. The pasta is homemade and they do a good job of cooking it al dente. We got the date night menu. For those who don't know what it is, it's a 3-course meal for two plus a bottle of wine for $50 on Sunday nights. We started with some cheesy garlic bread. It would've been soooo much better if it came to the table hot. And, it would've been even better if it came with some hot marinara sauce for dipping. In retrospect, i should've asked for some. And I should've asked them to heat the bread. For the first course, I got the fried Sicilian rice balls. The order came with two sitting in a pool of hot marinara sauce. It was delicious. I was disappointed I only got two, but then quickly realized I didn't need more than two balls of fried cheesy risotto goodness. My fiance got the house salad which had a surprisingly good lemon vinaigrette. For the second course, we got the pasta bolognese (with ground veal) and the cavatelli with pork short rib ragu in a tomato sauce. Our server raved about the bolognese but we didn't think it lived up to his hype. Our server told me it was a tomato sauce, but it was too creamy for my tastes. The pork ragu sauce was super tomato-y which I really enjoyed. Dessert was nothing special. We got a scoop of strawberry cheesecake gelato (which sounds a lot better than it tasted) and a caramel panna cotta, which was too sweet. The service was polite, professional and fast. No complaints there. Note that it's located in an office building. We had a bit of trouble finding the entrance.

First let me preface this review by saying that my brother and I, who have not had a moment together in close to 40 years (distance and family members are always present) are 100% Italian. My mother's side is from Sicily, and dad's side is from Naples. With that said, we both have high expectations from an Italian restaurant. As a matter of fact, I seldom frequent them because I can usually make it better at home--capish? My brother was on business in the Twin Cities and he suggested we try Parma 8200. Without a doubt, it was one of the finest Italian meals I have ever had, and that includes my time in Rome and Sicily. The place was empty when we arrived at 5:30 (we had reservations for 6pm) so we decided to have a martini (turned into two martinis) with blue cheese olives. Had Grey Goose vodka and the bartender simply terrific. When we turned around, the place was packed, and it was a Wednesday night. Bob and I started out with appetizers. We don't like deep fried calamari, but we do like it sautéed. Despite the fact, that that was not an option, our server, Carolyn (a 5 Star culinary professional) asked the chef if he could accommodate us. He did, and we also ordered a cheese sampling (A Robiola) that was to die for. The squid melted in your mouth, just like our little Italian grandmothers! And of course the bread! None of this mushy crap; this bread had a just right hard flaky crust. My brother picked the red wine (Italian of course) and then we both ordered the Parma House Salad that comes with arugula, cherry tomatoes, Parmigiano and a lemon vinaigrette dressing. Superb! Then we ordered the main course. Bob had a porchetta with soft polenta and I had a homemade pasta dish, which was Lamb Agnolotti with castelvetrano olives, tomato and mint. Shortly afterwards Carolyn returns and informs us that they had no more polenta left that night. She suggested risotto, which was a good choice. Like everything else, the main course was perfect, ample portions, hot, and the service outstanding. Now my brother is a long time New Yorker (I left NY in 1977) and he could not resist some friendly teasing of our server Carolyn. He said something to the effect of: "You know Carolyn, this was a most memorable night, but it was marred by the lack of polenta. I just had to have a little polenta tonight." She informed us that somehow they would rectify this flaw in our night together. Moments later she returns with 3 House-made Chocolate Ricotta Cannoli with amaretti-almond crunch--courtesy of the chef! What can I say? This place was awesome. And to top it off, my brother received a handwritten card just a few days ago, from Carolyn, hoping that we enjoyed our night and hoping we would consider returning. And the answer to that is: OF COURSE WE WILL!!

Food, service, ambiance, and price are all D'amico quality. For those that have not dined at D'Amico Kitchen, D'Amico and Sons, Campiello, or Cafe and Bar Lurcat, think upscale Italian with medium to high American flair in an upscale/trendy environment. Continue to think tasty, smaller but filling portions unless bread based. Also think generally great ingredients and skilled cooks, trained servers, and very good cocktails. I think the most difficult aspect of Parma is their consistency and pricing. Yeah, it's on the pricy side, and some items really are just expensive and time consuming to produce. Some items are not though, so I don't disagree with the complaint. Consistency, or lack their of, is due to their price and decor generating higher expectations of all their cooks and servers. One person dropping the ball on the dining experience tends to be pretty detrimental to the entire perception of the restaurant. As for me, I just really like Parma's food, especially their happy hour and big patio.

I think all of the Parma billboards coupled with a name like Parma sort of set me up for a small let down. "Parma." Say it once, out loud, like your nonna would, with an Italian drawl..... it just has that comforting, roll-off-your-tongue, lustful kind of tone to it, doesn't it? It made me romanticize the actual restaurant a little bit (described on their website as an Italian taverna), which was my first mistake: setting an expectation. We went on a Tuesday night, with a reservation, that we clearly didn't need. To start, the directions to the parking were a little unclear; we followed the ambiguous parking sign, ended up in a loading dock behind the building, and immediately relented to the convenient valet option. (Part of their plan, by chance?) The restaurant is located inside of a large corporate building, which gives it the feel of a hotel bar - not what I was hoping for from a "taverna." The space itself is a little dark, with minimalistic decor. It didn't feel cold, but it didn't feel "Parma" warm. Our server was a lovely pregnant gal who was extremely helpful in making suggestions. Like, suggesting we have a half-price bottle of wine - don't mind if we do! My husband and I decided to split an app, entree and dessert because we didn't want any leftovers to take home. We started with the prosciutto and arugula flatbread, which was absolutely delicious. The flatbread itself was not the typical toasted/grilled pizza crust; it was a flaky, deep-fried, crunchy circle of decadence. Excellent way to start the meal. The entree makes up the majority of the star-worthiness of my reviews (app-entree-dessert, 25%-50%-25%), and what we ordered (the chicken penne with a tomato cream vodka sauce) was very, very boring, minus the unexpected red pepper flakes that popped up out of nowhere. We both felt like it was something we could have easily made at home. Lastly, the dessert... thank goodness for a success to end the meal. The butterscotch pannacotta was phe.nom.en.al . Emphasis on the nom. It might actually be one of my favorite desserts ever, and probably the one thing that makes me want to go back and try something else on the entree menu (as I would obviously not stray from the dessert choice I made). If you go here, get it. A few other things: the patio looks very cute, although we ate inside because it was quite warm out that evening. There was a pool table beneath a pergola on the other side of the window we sat next to, which I think seems like a fantastic idea. Again, the server was excellent, as was the host and valet kid (it was his first day). Overall, not a bad experience, but I was hoping for better.

Gorgeous patio. If you can't sit on the patio, don't bother coming. The prices were ridiculous for the quality of the food. And the service was laughable (finished dinner before my glass of wine showed up). I'm assuming this place survives because of the suits who expense their meals and have nowhere else to go nearby.

I must say I had higher expectations for this place. The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I was informed that they have various events and wine tastings in the restaurant, which I thought was a great idea, but unfortunately have not been able to attend any yet. Maybe one of the events will get me to come back.

I brought my grandma here for her birthday, because she was craving Italian, and it didn't disappoint. First off, our server, Maggie, was fantastic. Very friendly, good energy, enthusiastic about the food, and gave great, delicious-sounding descriptions of everything. She also happened to be pretty cute, but that in no way affects my review. We started with calamari, which was pretty good. I enjoyed the fried hot peppers, and the fried lemon slices were an odd, but interesting, touch. It was not a presentation I'd seen before, but I liked it. I had Linguine with clams, and it was delicious, though not quite as good as some of the other reviewers had led me to believe. It was swimming in sauce, which I thought was a little too strongly-flavored, and could have used about another fistful of pasta to even everything out. Grandma had spaghetti marinara with meatballs, and she assured me that it was delicious. I'm not really a marinara fan, so, although I tried a bit, I can't really comment as to how good it may or may not have been. But, one of many apt ways to describe my grandma is "spaghetti connoisseur," and she enjoyed it quite a bit. For dessert, grandma had a (complimentary, for her birthday) raspberry sorbet with a chocolate-dipped pizelle, which were both tasty. Nice and fruity, and not too sweet. I had cannoli with a lemon filling, dipped in, I think, toffee. They were easily some of the best cannoli I've had. I will happily be back.

I was not expecting much of anything when I walked inside this nondescript restaurant stuck in an industrial park in the middle of nowhere, but I'm going say, that I was kind of blown away. I sat down at the bar with a martini and some italian bread with whipped butter. I ordered an apple salad with romaine, red onion, candied hazelnuts and gorgonzola dressing on the side. It sounds so simple yet it was so delicous. The salad was well dressed with a light citrusy dressing that elevated it beyond salad status. For dinner I choose the Wednesday special Porchetta with braised pork, broccoli rabe and soft polenta. I actually put my fork down after a few bites to savour all the flavors that were captured in this dish. The pork was perfectly braised and fork tender; the polenta was soft and creamy; the broccoli rabe was blanched, lightly sauteed with olive oil and crushed pepper, perhaps? All I know is that I didn't need to add any pepper or salt. Everything was splendid! It took me 1 hour to eat this dish because I wanted it to last forever. Well done Parma!

Since I'm such a sucker for Damico's restaurants (particularly the Damico's on 50th and France) I had to try this place. I especially wanted to try it during the happy hour as they had such great prices on food and drink. I really liked it! It was in an odd location, but once you got past that, it was a really cozy lounge with a good atmosphere. I did think that they would do better having shades or something on the large windows because it would have made it feel less like we were in the middle of a suburban office building. Food was good, and I'd definitely come back for more though I don't think that they will take the place of my usual D's in Edina. I'd like to try the wine boot camps or music nights they have - sounds fun! The waitress was super friendly. The crowd was definitely a bit older and more post-work than you'd get downtown, but I would say this is one of the better places to stop by after work if you work in the suburbs..

A few thoughts before I begin the actual review of the food: 1. This place is hard to find. Like other people have mentioned, the location is really strange. It's in an office building and as you are driving there isn't a sign marking the restaurant. We had to call to ask how to get there. The only sign was tiny and located in the parking garage. 2. I HATE it when restaurants boast about their happy hour specials on their website, but fail to mention that happy hour is only good in the bar. Why would I pay $9.50 for an appetizer at my table when I could have gotten it for $3 at the bar?? It's the same food and I'm only 10 feet from the bar! Now, on to the food. I thought everything we had at Parma was pretty good, but nothing stood out enough to make me want to come back. The meal started with complimentary cheese bread, which was excellent. My husband said he could have kept eating it all night for his entree. The entrees include pasta dishes that you can get in a large or small portion size. Most large sizes are around $17. I decided to order the special for Friday night, pink snapper piccata with gnocchi. The flavors of this dish were great and I loved the caramelized gnocchi. I actually wish there was more gnocchi and less fish. I wasn't a huge fan of the fish. Normally, fish has a flaky texture and you can eat with only a fork. This fish was very tough and more like chicken in texture. I had to use a knife to cut it, and even then it was difficult. It was slightly off-putting. I'm not sure if the fish wasn't cooked all the way or if it was overdone. I've never had such tough fish before. My husban ordered the rigatoni with homemade fennel sausage and ricotta. His dish had good flavor, but he thought it could have used less noodles and more sausage. To me, it tasted like sausage pizza. For dessert, we went with the server's recomendation and ordered the chocolate panini with vanilla gelato. This was excellent. The panini bread was coated in cinnamon sugar so it had a nice crunchy crust. The chocolate filling was the perfect combination of rich and sweet. My only complaint was the price. $7 seems a little high for a chocolate sandwich.

I have tried Parma twice for work lunches. I have ordered the beet salad and the caprese. Maybe I need to try other items because both salads came overly salted and ruined the flavor of the dishes. The proportions of the salad were fine. For the price, I was unimpressed by the quality. The sandwiches my co-workers ordered were huge. Friendly service though. Over-priced suburban lunch option.

Was a little disappointed this time around. The cheese plate was the shining point and it was really good. However, the pasta selection is lacking for an Italian restaurant. And the pastas they do offer aren't the least bit unique. We ordered one and found that it needed more seasoning. Not send-it-back bad or anything, just a bit bland. Same with the Sea Bass. This does not mean that it needed to be drowned in salt. The salt content was fine. What those dishes needed were some spice or fresh herbs to bring more flavor.

I have been here a few times and I have to say I just want to keep coming back! On my most recent visit the food and service were both outstanding. We arrived a little before our reservation and our table wasn't quite ready yet so we sat by the bar. If we hadn't been meeting friends for dinner I could have easily stayed at the bar and ordered off the menu. Certainly a great spot to go to if you want to have a drink or quick bite to eat. There is also a nice lounge area as you walk in (directly across from the bar) with lots of cozy chairs and sofas for catching some casual "chit-chat". I've ordered the fish on the menu both of the times I've been here (and you have to know I'm a picky fish eater). On both occasions it was prepared perfectly. The pan seared swordfish was served with a mixture of vegetables and corona beans. Gets a 5 star in my book! I love the "chic' look inside the restaurant but I think that their outside patio is one of the "best keep" secrets in town. It's private yet cozy with lots of different seating options. A great spot for a summer afternoon or evening out. Depending on what you order this place can get a little spending. It might not be someplace you can afford on a regular basis but check out their "happy hour" on weekdays from 3 to 6pm. $3 drinks and appetizers. Lots drinks options including wines, beer and mixed drinks. See you there!

I made a reservation at this restaurant at the spur of the moment. I was glad I did because my husband and I were both pleasantly surprised. The food was good, but the atmosphere inside was great! It's tucked into the corner of a very non-assuming office building in Bloomington WAY off the beaten track. I actually had problems getting into the restaurant - one, because I'm an idiot, and two because you would expect an outdoor entrance rather than having to go inside the lobby of the building THEN into the restaurant. (To be fair, because my husband is a gentleman he had dropped me off near what looked like the outside entrance -- and maybe it is during the summer months.) The restaurant was PACKED! I was happy we were able to get in even with late reservations. They had just held a pinot noir boot camp class so maybe people were lingering after that. It was a Thursday night -- perhaps an early start to the weekend, as well? Anyway, I was greeted right away by the hostesses and seated within 5-minutes. My husband found me 5 more minutes later and the waiter (I can't remember his name, unfortunately) showed up for our drink orders right away. We started out with an artisanal cheese plate -- of which they had a few great selections to choose from. I then opted for the pear & feta salad rather than the beet and mozzarella salad which the waiter had suggested. I don't know, I like a heartie, stinkier cheese to go with my beets and the mozzarella wouldn't seem to... CUT it. ;) (Ha, a little cheese humor. I AM from Wisconsin, after all.) :) The waiter suggested the chicken parmesan so my husband ordered that. I had the other dish that the waiter recommended -- the scallops, which were great -- especially the truffled mashed cauliflauer it sat on top of. Surprisingly, the chicken parmesan was really dry, which is too bad. As a standard for an Italian restaurant it shouldn't have been and that is unfortunately, what my husband remembers the most out of our dining experience. I will not be able to talk him into going back again. He is not one to complain or send anything back, so he ate it. :/

I work in the 8200 building and have been soooo excited for Parma to open. The beautiful patio with the pool table outside, the huge bar where you can watch the chefs at work, the dark mahoganey wood work. This restaurant should have been a slam dunk, but when I went for lunch with clients it fell short of my expecations. The meal started promising with some delicious (and complimentary) cheese bread. The fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade was also tasty--though it is made with sparkling soda. I had the caprese sandwich, which consisted of mostly bread and a very meager amount of mozzerella, tomato, and basil. The only thing that saved this meal was the home-made chips. Wow, they were good. I dare you to try to stop eating them, even if you are full. If I had to do it over again, I'd get the meatball sub. It looked awesome. Willing to give this place another chance but overall disappointed that it didn't knock my socks off after the anticipated wait. Looks like a great spot for happy hour drinks on the patio on a sunny afternoon.

Happy hour with some friends. Location is kind of away from anything but fairly easy to get to with ample parking. Happy hour menu was great and cheap! We enjoyed the flat bread and bruschetta (2 pieces per order didn't quite make it around the table...). I also ordered off the main menu because I was starving. Small portions for the cost. I did really like their fresh fruit cup with the kids menu--had all of my little ones favorites. Expansive patio with ample seating areas. Enjoyed on a nice, warm summer day.

A gem in the suburbs, Parma is great. I work in the office park, so I may be biased, but I love this place. If I lived in the area, I would surely be back on the evenings and weekends for the nice atmosphere and good food. Their lunch and happy hour is great- and their garlic chips are to die for!

Finally checked out Parma 8200 during restaurant week. Overall, I had a great experience. My friend and I got there early (6:30) so the restaurant was fairly quiet (minus the bar/lounge area). We had the fried rice balls. They were pretty good. The sauce was a stand out. They provided us with garlic cheese bread, which I thought resembled super market quality but oh well, you cant win on everything. I had the rigatoni, which was great. It had homemade ricotta and sausage with a little kick of red pepper flakes. The highlight by far was the dessert. OMG, I know everyone raves but the butterscotch panna cotta was outstanding. The waiter was friendly and informative. And fun side note, we saw Andrew zimmern dressed like a homeless man sitting in the corner of the restaurant w/his fam.

I was a bit of a skeptic as I walked into Parma on a sunny Friday evening, however I was in for quite a treat. It was restaurant week that loured the parentals and myself into the restaurant, however none of us ended up ordering off the special menu, as we preferred the options in the menu instead. Patio: Incredible! We lucked on on one of the prettiest days of summer, and it is a very relaxing and comfortable area. Only downside: kind of reminds me of being in Florida, as most outside furniture is white and khaki. This could be a plus, as I felt I was on vacation? Food: I got the Chicken Parmigiana and woah it was delicious! It was crazily proportioned, as I have leftovers that may last me lunch AND dinner tomorrow. Plus, their bread for the table is toasty and delicious, with cheese on top. Their bruschetta appetizer was very tasty as well, however overpriced for the portion given ($9.50 for two halves of thin toasted bread, with around 4 tomato slices. Prego?). The only thing that irked me about this place was the servers. If I got a nickel for every time one smiled at me and said "You're very welcome" I may had gone away with a free dinner for the evening. I'm not saying I don't love friendly servers, however a little TOO friendly can get slightly uncomfortable. Overall, it's definitely worth a shot to enjoy a delicious and well proportioned meal, out on their Miami-esque patio. Also, there are heat lamps and a fireplace, so this is even an option when it gets a little chilly.

The latest iteration from D'Amico is an excellent addition to the west metro. You can expect service that's as good as any white linen downtown spot and food that tastes like you are actually in Italy (I know - was there last fall). Be sure to try the rice ball appetizer and any of the house made pastas. Even their bread is special - more like cheesy garlic breat - like getting an appetizer for free! Definitely worth a try.

All around great experience. Antipasto of cured meats and cheese variety was great. The Blistered Romaine salad was done perfectly. Sea Bass; very nice. Service was great- attentive and friendly. I could do it all over again tomorrow night.

While my husband and I typically travel over our anniversary we opted to stay in town and hit some spots we haven't been to yet. BRILLIANT! We hit PARMA 8200 and all I had to do was browse the menu to know that I'd be hitting it again...and again. A terrific happy hour ($3 stuff!) Sunday~Date Night with a $50 meal for 2 including a modest bottle of wine. Pork Tenderloin? Holy Sh*t! Melt in your mouth! Gary had the Chef's family recipe of Cavaletti... SUPER tasty! Sweet Patio...has heaters for chilly days/nights. Decor is really modern and relaxed. Wait staff (Sara) AWsome! Felt bad for parking over at Kincades! ;) Can't wait to go back and try more from the huge menu! Okay, one bad thing...the Fried Sicilian Rice Balls...these should be on a stick at the Minnesota State Fair in a booth near the Midway. NOT GOOD. Bleh :P

I would give Parma 8200 3 stars for being pretty good/not great, but they get an extra star for their gorgeous patio. Definitely head for the patio whenever you can. The food is good and they have a nice happy hour menu (those rice balls are delicious!) Indoor ambiance is just okay, kinda business-y for a fun night out (but perfect for a corporate lunch or dinner.) I've gone there many times for happy hour, and when I first started going I loved it. But over time, the portion sizes have really shrunk. The happy hour appetizers are literally half the size they were when I first visited. I find this completely insulting--don't call it a happy hour special when it's really just a far smaller portion.

I've eaten here probably a half dozen times for work as I used to work in the Normandal Office buildings. Overall, this is probably your best bet in the office park if you're trying to choose. It's nothing spectacular, the Italian dishes are your usual chain-type offerings and the portions are huge, just like the chains. This is probably a little more unique of a place to take colleagues or even a date than an Olive Garden, but don't expect the food to be any more inspired than an Olive Garden. It's ok, nothing wrong with this place. I'd choose it over it's neighbor, Kincaid's.

Two things that prevented this from being 4+ stars: * located in an office building. You park in the ramp. This means you start out with a zero on the love connection scale. * prices. There food is delicious but seems priced about 20% higher than places like al Vento (a much better option for this kind of food, location, ambiance). On the positive side: * the food was very good. Our party of three all had pasta dishes (super simple to make) and they were all great. * beer list not bad given you are in a Bloomington office building. * the butter scotch panna cotta dessert is 5 star, unreal, delicious. Maybe worth the trip by itself. On a side note, ask NOT to be seated by the back door. People come and go from this entrance and a BLAST of frigid air will knock you out of your seat. I'm not kidding.

We are visiting MN for a Christmas party and had a night to ourselves. The staff at Hilton Garden Inn recommended Parma and we were very pleased. The service was great and the pasta was very tasty. The best part of the meal was the Butterscotch Panna Cota. OMG, it was so tasty.

Second time to this Italian Oasis. Both times we had great food! But the shining star of this restaurant is the service. Waiters and hosts were polite, helpful and timely. Though the ambiance is confusing--is it Italian or high-end, trendy, suburban. I would say, the food is worth it. Wanna smile? Try the Fried Rice Balls. Wanna leave satisfied? go with the meat ball sandwich. If I could suggest something to stay away from, I would say the turkey, bacon, avacado sandwich... The sauce is a lemon mayo and it has onion marmalade on it, I thought the mix of sweet and salty did not compliment well and found it confusing.

I was here with several colleagues during restuarant week and was seriously disappointed! We got to the restaurant at 6 and didn't leave until almost 9:30. There were 9 of us ordering off of a set menu, minus a few extra apps and drinks. The time it took for everything was not ok. The servers were terrible (sub par at best), but the water refill guy was good. At several points during the meal the main server forgot to take orders from part of the table. Even though we requested bread at least 3 times from 2 different people, we never got it. Wine refills took at least 15 minutes each (when they happened) and I asked for no cheese on my salad and got it with cheese anyway... need I go on? The restaurant week menu was weak! The pesto was too oily, the steak had no flavor and I'm certain that nothing on the menu was worth a total of $30. I heard the salmon was ok. Overall a pretty disappointing experience. No one at the table left satisfied and we all got progressively grumpy because it took so long. When we asked the server to put in dessert orders she wouldn't do it until our dinner plates were cleared, so there goes another 20 minutes of sitting with dirty dishes in front of us and no progression in the meal. I was generally annoyed and will never go back. Restuarant week should be the time to impress, but it did nothing but depress.

Parma is a nice spot for what it is, but frankly I felt it was a little pretentious. I was there with a group of co-workers, so maybe that impacted my feelings. It seemed like a lovely spot for a romantic evening or girls night out. The food was really good and the service was good. I felt like it was what you'd expect for the price and style, but nothing spectacular. Sorry Parma, I save my 4 and 5 star ratings for places that are more than what you pay for. Nice spot, but there's cooler places in Minneapolis.

The location is weird- its in a large office complex. Just not my thing. The food was just ok. We went about a month ago and were seated near the doors to the patio. Every time the doors opened-alot- I froze my butt off! It was quite awful and uncomfortable. We decided to try this place because we normally love D'Amico restaurants. I still miss the old Campiello in uptown. This one does not compare however.

A new restaurant that feels out of place - attempting to be hip but missing by quite a bit. Parma's pricey food is just average. The waiter raved about the grilled prosciutto with mozzarella. I was intrigued and ordered it. I don't know what I was expecting, but certainly not what I got. A piece of prosciutto wrapped around a slice of baguette and a small piece of mozzarella, and there was only one piece. Really? It was almost $13...it was a sad piece of bread swimming in tomato paste, and it did not taste fresh. I ordered the linguine with clams. It was so-so. I've definitely had better elsewhere. The service was also lacking. We asked at least three wait staff to turn off the fan above us and each one said yes, but no one did anything about it. Or, maybe they did, but no one bothered to inform us why they couldn't turn it off. We finally asked our waiter what happened and he let us know he had tried but it wasn't working properly. OK then why not ask if we wanted to move? Just completely irritating. It's too bad that we didn't have a better experience at Parma. I hear it's a part of the D'Amico and Sons chain so there's still time and room for improvements I guess.

The restaurant is located inside an office building. It's located on the first floor which is accessible via the adjacent parking garages by skybridge or land. The atmosphere gets down to business with a nice layout and conteporary decor; This is definitely a spot to bring business acquantances or dates to. One thing unique to the spot is the pasta bar further in the dining area. I wanted to sit at a table, something low to the ground, however there was no hostess to greet me as I walked in. I chose to sit at the bar. The server quickly answered and offered a menu and house-made bread. I ordered the Chicken Parm with Spaghetti along with canoli's. I will say the food was good but nothing that couldn't be made at home. You can taste the quality in the food however the prices are a bit high for what they offer. You can get flavor and quality equally as good from somewhere cheaper like Olive Garden, the only difference here is either you're in the area, don't like olive garden or want a change of scenery.

I had very high expectations for Parma. I wouldn't say it was a disappointment, but I think I expected more...especially for the money. My biggest problem was the food was oversalted. We went for a nice work dinner and 3 of the 4 things I ate were way too salty for me to enjoy. I also agree with a previous comment that the service is great...but maybe a little too great. They kept interrupting us in the middle of conversations for no apparent reason. The ambience is beautiful and very comfortable. Overall, the staff is very welcoming. It was unclear to me which door to go in through...I am sure it is easy to figure out during the day, but in the evening, the place is a ghost town and it is difficult to figure out to walk through the office building. Patio is beautiful.

This place has amazing food although the lighting is quite dark which is frustrating, I wish it was better lit. Good appetizers if you get the meat and cheese sampler $15 for choosing 3 meats and 3 cheeses and you get this amazing toasted bread. You also get bread before your meal which is quite delicious and they offer refills. Yum. I always order their Lemon chicken which is the best lemon chicken I've ever had, hands down the best in Minnesota. The lemon juice thats dripping on the plate I could drink it tastes so good. Definitely try it, you will not regret it. I try to convince my boyfriend to come here more often just so I can get the lemon chicken again. Marvelous service with truly delicious food. Must try, cant wait to go in summer and sit by the fire pit!

What a fantastic happy hour! $3 drinks and yummy bites (rice balls were my fav); drinks include: prosecco, wine, mini-tinis, mixed drinks, and beer. What a deal! Their dinner menu looks fantastic too, I'll definitely have to return. My hh companion (Lilly M) arrived before me and first thought it was closed. From the outside it appears you enter through the patio and both doors were locked. Luckily we didn't leave and called them, it turns out they WERE open and you enter through the office building. We actually saw a car come and go, thinking the restaurant was closed. It would be nice to have a little signage on the patio door directing patrons to enter through the office tower.

I'm the least picky eater you could ever know. I eat anything and everything. I was very excited to go to Parma for my brothers birthday and it was a terrible disappointment. I ordered the penne with vodka sauce and it was one of the worst things I've ever had. Terrible taste, seasoning and terribly over salted. My brother got clams on linguini and had to send it back because it was way too salty. Even when something isn't good I can still eat it and if hungry enough I can finish it. This was not the case. I took about 4 bites and was done. Couldn't even force it down. Seriously would've rather eaten Chef Boyardee. Only took a few bites but there wasn't much left. Why? Because the portions are ridiculous. My brother asked me if I ordered a kids meal. I suppose if I'm going to throw food away at least it was minimal. On the bright side, they have the best bread. Seriously, their bread and butter is better than any Italian place I've been to. So imagine my disappointment in my entree after having this marvelous bread. Even if this was just a rare occurrence, it's too expensive to try again. Sorry, can't go back. Ever

My wife and I are regulars at Parma and were lured there by the Mojito sampler promotion on the 4th of July. Management underestimated the response to the promotion and the restaurant was understaffed as a result. However, the staff on hand really hustled and the service was OK (It's usually excellent). I had the halibut and, since I'm on a low-carb diet, I asked if the gnocchi side could be replaced with some sort of veggie medley. The kitchen responded with an inspired grilled zucchini/bell pepper medley that complimented the halibut, perfectly. My wife had her favorite dish, the lemon chicken, which was delicious, as usual! We love this place!

Went for restaurant week, I ordered off the restaurant week menu, she ordered off the regular menu. We had the Salumi tasting (I loved it, she thought it was meh), Caprese salad (both loved it), grilled hangar steak (i loved it, she liked it) & finally the best of all the items the Brasato. Neither of us had ever had it before and we were both amazed by how good it was. We finished it off with the Butterscotch Panna Cotta & were hoping to have a cappuccino to go with it. The power had gone out some time in the middle of dinner, so we were treated to an extra romantic atmosphere. This however led to complications when it came time to pay the bill and we ended with a longer than expected wait for the check. The parking situation over here could use a little better signage and directions.

I got sucked into going here because my roommate had one of those social coupon things. I smelled garlic and pretentiousness as I walked up to the building. Parking is kind of a pain. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Seating is close quarters through out the restaurant and it's a little noisy when it's full as it was. This paragraph is where I initially wrote about the main parts of the meal, but I'll summarize with this because it doesn't really matter that much: Blah blah blah, food, good, well seasoned, no need to add your own salt blah blah blah, go with the server's suggestions they know what they're talking about. Now to the exciting part!! I finally got over the pretentiousness of the restaurant and its patrons and just made light of it. During our "dessert menu tour" from Michael, our fantastic server, he stated he was a HUGE chocolate fan, but while this was true he was in love with the butterscotch panna cotta with chocolate shortbread sprinkled with sea salt. Michael said, "the cookies tell a story of their own." I flat out laughed at him for saying such a thing, I felt kind of bad, but like I said, I started making light of the pretentiousness of the place. This dessert may, quite possibly, be the best dessert in the metro area. NO JOKE!!! It's very sweet, smooth, and just perfect in all ways possible. I enjoyed with a cup of black coffee. I fessed up to Michael saying that I absolutely understood what he meant by the chocolate shortbread cookies having a story of their own. They melt in your mouth with the beautiful punctuation of sea salt sprinkled over the chocolate in which the cookie was dipped. I will go back to Parma JUST FOR THIS DESSERT! HOLY CRAP!! p.s. Don't touch the tiramisu dessert with at 20 foot pole, it's pretty flavorless and boring. Unless you count choking on the over use of the cinnamon as exciting, then it's not boring.

Think "SEVEN" rooftop meets typical hotel bar. First off, it's hard to get to. I drove by the sign twice...then tried two different doors just to get in. The parking lot is across the street - under an office building. There food is great - right on par with their other restaurants...which isn't a plus for me. In my opinion, if you open a new restaurant - do something new. The patio is great, better than the sports bars in the area - but all you end up looking at is cookie cutter office buildings. At least downtown you have foot traffic to keep your eye entertained. They did try something kinda cool, by introducing an "Antipasti Bar" - which looks like a sushi bar. But you can only watch them "thinly slice prosciutto" for so long...with sushi - the knife skills don't get old. You can serve great food - but doing the basics right, like making the door obvious - makes or breaks this place. All in all, I gave this a 3 instead of a 2, because this place is better than everything around it. But that's it.

Bad Things First: Tight space -we had a group of 6 but waiters had to seriously like move chairs to scoot between tables, weak waiter-maybe just a bad day or could be the norm (though he did let me substitute one thing for another and that makes me like him more than I would otherwise), and smaller portions-than would be expected. Good: Food-The cheesy bread they serve to the table is super delish-we were starving so it really hit the spot, the salad I subbed for potato chips (I don't like potato chips) was PERFECT!!!!!-it was simple but done so crazy well (wish they would sell me the salad dressing), and my cheese sandwich was pretty yummy as well. Decor-Really like their mix of rustic items with leather and very high end things. Nice balance and feel. I also think the porch would be fun to chill out on.

I recently went with a friend of mine who is in his sixties. I mention that because even though the restaurant wasn't very busy on a Wednesday night, it was extremely noisy because of the poor acoustics. Anyone hard of hearing is going to have a difficult time with this. We opted to eat outside instead. Nice outdoor atmosphere, but the heaters mounted about twelve feet up in the air are absolutely useless. We had two appetizers and we split a salad. The beef carpaccio was actually chewy (worst I ever had) and the shrimp appetizer had good flavor, but there were only four very little shrimps. The arugula salad was basic and lacked flavor. Since we were less than impressed, we opted to not stay for dinner. Our total bill for the two apps, a split salad and three drinks was $78! Give me a break. Sorry, but Parma doesn't walk the walk.

Beautiful dining room, incredible food, excellent service. Plus their Sunday date night is a fab deal.

We have brought our whole family here a few times, and it has become our place for birthday celebrations. They accommodate our youngest grandchild beautifully, and our 30's something children and their spouses love it. Great rice balls, wonderful sea bass, and savory meats. Delicious desserts....

The first time I went to Parma, I thought it rivaled one of my all time favorite restaurants, Perron's Sul Lago. I really enjoyed their seafood risotto, chicken Parmesan and gratuitous cheesy bread. They offered a Living Social or Groupon or whatever and I happily bought one so I could go with my husband. We used it last night and we were SO disappointed. So much so that I don't think I will ever return! First we stood around for about 10 minutes at the hostess stand after we had made a reservation and the guy that finally came over was RUDE. We each had a drink before dinner which ran us almost $20, pricey but not unheard of. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan on my recommendation and I ordered the carbonara special. I ordered the half size plate because the last time, I ordered a full and it was HUGE. I expected for just $4 less than the entree price, I'd get a size-able half order. We also requested an additional $8 glass of wine each to go with our meals, which we ordered with the meal. Our meal came out and the waitress said she'd be right back with our wine. Meanwhile, we hear her going over every detail of the dessert menu for a good 15 minutes with the table behind us, ignoring that we don't have our wine yet. A guy came over and asked how we were enjoying our meal and I said 'Fine, but we don't have our wine yet.' he goes 'Oh I'm so sorry, let me get that,' never to return. Honestly, she brought it over in time to enjoy the very last bite of dinner. UGH! We didn't spend $16 on wine to not enjoy it with our dinner! Also, I was so excited to get the carbonara special because it isn't offered often and I LOVE carbonara. Maybe I'm being unfair because I have enjoyed REAL carbonara in Rome and have learned to perfect it myself. This was not even CLOSE to real carbonara. The only thing that even resembled carbonara was the fact that it had bacon in it. Let me explain what carbonara should be; a thin fettuccine noodle with a wonderful creamy sauce consisting of Parmesan cheese, asiago cheese, half and half, and an egg with seasoning. The trick is mixing in the egg at the right moment to get the perfect blend of creaminess and gritty delicious cheese. Then light crispy bacon is tossed in to add a salty crunch. MAGNIFICO! Unless you are at Parma 8200. Here, you order carbonara and you are served a plate of noodles drowned in separated oil with fatty chewy bacon and loads of red onions. HOW is that carbonara?! No cheese, obviously no egg, just slick greasy noodles. This was about 16 hours ago and I STILL have a stomach ache from it. YUCK. It was a tiny, tiny plate of food too. Our bill was a staggering $80. The only thing worth eating was the Butterscotch Panna Cotta. Which was a knock off of 112 Eatery's Butterscotch Bundino. The atmosphere is so pretty but no way will I return for the sub quality food for top quality prices. Oh, and the downright sucky service. Forget it!

Restaurant Week in the Mini-apple is just the best. Being able to go to some of the best restaurants in the twin cities, at a very modest price, for either lunch or dinner is terrif. I decided to go to Parma 8200 for dinner and to try the $30.00 menu. When the decision presented itself between the $30.00 menu and the actual dinner menu, the decision was easy, the dinner menu. I started with the calamari, not bad but not the best. I followed this with the chicken parmigiana which was perfect, but the topper of the evening was the dessert. I can tell you that the butterscotch panna cotta is to die for. The flavor is beyond anything that I have ever tasted before...it is a most have. The only downside, and this is my pet peeve...the bartender did not know how to make a Lemon Drop. This was pointed out to the waitress but I just got a shrug of the shoulders. I would not let this dissuade me from going back. The Bloomington suburbs are very lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber. The prices are downtown prices but if you are willing to share it does lower the bill. I would put this eatery in my top 10 to visit again.

I have been to the Parma few times after work for happy hour. Per my observations and confirmed by the bartender, there is not much of a "happy hour" with regard to a packed bar, the place has a good ambiance. Great place to meet a friend after work for good conversation in an upscale and relaxing setting. GT

Overall Parma was good. This was my second time at the restaurant. My first time I was there for happy hour and frankly that's probably why I would return. The food was very good but the kitchen was very stingy in splitting a salad for us, so much so, that it was ridiculous. I thought the best part of the meal was the swordfish. Our server was well rehearsed but so intense it was uncomfortable. She also kept asking if we wanted more drinks. We would ask if we wanted more drinks. It was over the top. I liked the decor and the feel of the restaurant but I think I would just go back for happy hour where the drinks are cheap and the food good.

This place is OK, but just OK. I had made a reservation quite some time in-advance. But the two of us were seated at first in what looked like the worst table in the restaurant. We objected, and were seated in a better location, but that was certainly a poor beginning. I told the manager about this, and he apologized, but it did not seem genuine. The food was good, but nothing was out of the ordinary. The space they are in is in a lower level of a big office building. It seems like it's just placed there, with little thought about how to best lay out the restaurant. Overall, we won't go back.

Enjoyed EVERY bite and the service, impeccable and personable. We shut the place down. Every course we getting better and better (not your standard MN restaurant where the apps are great and the entree is less than satisfactory). Foods worth drooling over...the mussels apps, Beet & Burrata Salad, the cavatelli with pork ragu and especially the chocolate panini with vanilla gelato. Tried my husband's chicken, it was your basic chicken. Other than that, LOOOOOVVVED it. Can't wait for the patio to open up, it feels like you're in a different city.

Could it be?! Could the pot roast at Parma 8200 be EVEN BETTER than the pot roast at Café Lurcat??? It's a tough call. Perhaps it's a tie. My husband and I tried Parma 8200 last night for the first time and we were just wowed once again. We had the arugula salad, the penne with vodka, the pot roast, the salmon, and the best dessert I have had in a long time... the butterscotch panna cotta! The service was EXCELLENT and the restaurant was so comfortable and had a fun atmosphere. Everything was perfectly prepared. But what really impressed us was the quality that we find at all the D'Amico restaurants. One just can't go wrong at a D'Amico restaurant. Café Lurcat is still my very favorite because I am a big fan of "comfort food", but we will go to Parma 8200 again for sure!

Had a fantastic meal with a group of friends! The service was spot on and extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu - very impressive. Her recommendations were terrific. Loved the pizza-like bread & the cheese sampler appetizer & fresh salad. Enjoyed a cool, crisp Pinot along with the best halibut I've ever had. So light and flaky in an airy lemony cream sauce that was to die for. A little disappointed that it was served over 5 scrawny little asparagus sprigs. Delicious food but not enough of it for the price. Our server got this dreamy look in her eyes when describing the butterscotch dessert so we HAD to try it. It was everything she said it would be and more - delicious! Our group was also VERY impressed with the chic outdoor space. Fireplaces, cool furniture, a very relaxed vibe - loved it and will definitely return for drinks and dinner again soon! They also have a fantastic indoor/outdoor spot for private parties. I need to think of an excuse to have one just to book it!

Parma's food is quite good and the club-like decor is attractive. However, I think they have some kinks to work out at this restaurant. The staff was a little pretentious. I give it low marks on it's approach to their customer. When I phoned for a Friday night reservation, the staff could only offer 5:15 or 8:30 pm, yet they had several time slots available on Open Table. One very weird thing was the large screen TV's showing various games in the bar area. It just didn't fit with the rest of the restaurant, which has an elegant style. My husband and I shared a salad, which they split into two micro-sized salads and then charged us a split plate charge. It was a ridiculously small portion for $9.50 plus an extra $2, and I should have complained. The chicken Parmesan was very good. Two in our group had pasta which was also good. The menu is somewhat confusing as there was no pricing for the larger glass of beer. It's a nice restaurant but there are many that do a better job and don't take advantage of you in the process.

Ate on the patio last night. 4 of us did 3 entrees and split them as appetizer portions. We also ordered a side of the hommade kettle chips which were delic. Also had the apple something salad and a calmari app. EVERY item was great! All came out with super fresh ingredients, an artistic touch and perfectly executed. Two dishs that really stood out were the Halibut and the Pork tenderloin which came with a tangy pepper side. Couldn't have been more pleased as I was worried that this could be just another cool location with average food like it's neighbor, Kinkaids. I'm not sure I'd enjoy the main room as much as the patio as it was screaming busy inside and kind of loud. The patio was great. I ordered a Astoria Proseco bubbly at $28 to share which was a good value at $28 and paid a slightly pricey $20 corkage fee to bring in my own blt of Il Pogionne Brunello De Montlicno. Prefer $15 as a corkage fee by mile. The rest of the wine list is interesting but unfortunately most items are very overpriced except for some of the lower end stuff like the Astoria. I really like that they had real Riedel glasses for my red and Shotten? something Champagne stems. Bravo on the top shelf stem wear which most restaurants don't provide! Our waiter was enthusiastic and helpfull at every step. A great evening and we'll be back for sure. Tip well!

Went here with some colleagues from work. Everyone enjoyed their meal except another person and myself, we both ordered the same prosciutto dish and found it bland. However, she lived in Italy for awhile and I just got back from a few weeks there. Maybe our expectations were high but I just found the food and wine selections okay...actually, I had to exchange out of my glasses of wine because it was kind of sour. We waited 30-40 min for our table and I didn't think it was really worth. Sorry, I wanted to really enjoy it....

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
