This place is very small inside, and is best for carry out orders. The menu is very small and select, so if you don't like hoagies or you're looking for lots of side items, it's not the place for you. My boyfriend doesn't like onions, and he tried to sub mushrooms for the onions, but they would not allow that, so he had to pay extra. Other than that, the cheesesteaks are incredibly good and reasonably priced. I ate the entire thing, and was ready to go back for more!

As someone who lived in Philly I can honestly say this is good stuff. By far the most authentic in the area. A great hole in the wall that has been around for decades. A must if your within 15 miles.

My boyfriend and I are obsessed with the hoagies. I've been coming here since I was a little girl and have always loved the food! I then make others fall in love with the place. If there were one thing I could change, is that I wish the hoagies were a bit bigger. The price is decent, I just have to get two in order to get full. I would 100% recommend everyone here. I promise you'll fall in love.

There is a reason this place wins awards. They do hoagies and they do them really well. The staff is friendly and the place is clean (I had to use the restroom and didn't cringe when I opened the door). The value for your dollar is good and this is one of those spots where you might as well order a second sandwich to go with the first (because you'll start thinking about it halfway through your meal). Seating is adequate. Setup more for take-out but the tables aren't tiny. I'd suggest calling ahead to see how busy they are. I've always gone in the evening but the staff said that sometimes the line is huge.

Not Bad, could be better Now i think on this one i might be speaking from the other side of the fence. Me personally, I love me a good hoagie and this one one is good, but it has some drawbacks. One, the little amount of options on the menu is a major drop for me ( i understand just hoagies, but at least offer more sides), two i think the hoagies could either use more meat (or at least have the option to pay for more meat) and i don't think you should have to pay for extra red pepper relish. Overall is it a nice little place yes, but i can think of other places in the area with better hoagies.

This place is amazing! Great hoagies, for a great price (under $6.00). They don't skimp on the ingredients either. They make a tasty spicy, pepper-like sauce that you can either request to put on it, for a little extra, or get a side of it to try. They gave it to me to try for free for the first time. I HIGHLY recommend going here!

A simple place where a man can eat like a man. They have sandwiches, a regular Italian sub and of course their cheesesteak. Meat on meat action baby!!! It's filled to the brim with flavor, it's what a true man wants in a sandwich. Even more manly is unwrapping the 5 sheets of greasy paper to reveal this glorious meat tornado. And......and it comes with a hot pepper relish. It's a tangy & spicy way to wake your body up after a long day at work.

Gabriel's offers a very nice cheesesteak hoagie. Add their fantastic peppers and you are in for a solid treat. There is an area to sit inside and my boy and I (on one of our special Daddy-son meals) chose to do just that. The food is simple to order, though I must say the menu is super limited. The sandwiches are very good. My son was confused b/c he couldn't see any cheese but they pointed out that it melts into the meat. Regardless my recommendation to anyone wanting cheese is to order extra because there was not very much. The pepper sauce deserves it's own paragraph. It, truly, makes the sandwich. Get some. Now. Do it. All in all this is a good sandwich but both my son and I still prefer Izzy's on the other end of town for both flavor and variety. That is the main reason for 3 instead of 4 stars. We would (and will) go back, but maybe not as often as we would if Izzy's wasn't around.

5 stars simply because they don't presume to be anything other than exactly what they are. It's a simple hole in the wall that servers a top notch steak hoagie. Get it with extra peppers, extra cheese and mushrooms and you won't be disappointed. The peppers (more of a relish than anything) are sweet with a bit of a spicy kick, the steak is cut thin and done just right and the bread is excellent. They have other menu items, but like several other reviewers I feel no desire to try them. I wish they were closer to either AA or Ypsi but they're worth the drive every once and a while.

A solid cheese steak sub, in the middle of nowhere. I go here often to get my fix. I have one cheese steak snob tell me that it really doesn't compare with Philly, but I really like it. (In full disclosure, I admit that I am no authority) The sandwich is meaty and cheesy (get double cheese for the full effect) with onions topped with a vinegar spicy red pepper relish that is tasty. (Skip the canned schrooms...) Way better than any chain, and way more character. As an FYI, I guess the story is that 2 native philly airforce personal could not find any cheese steak places near the air base 40 years ago. This inspired them to open Gabriel's, and the rest is history. There is another location (westland?) but many drive a long way for a little bit of wiz.

There is a new location for Gabriel's in Saline and all I have to say is yuk! If you like a cheese steak hoagie that tastes like a whitecastle burger then this is your place. The atmosphere was generic. They only have a couple of items on the menu and you would think that these specialty items would be outstanding. A bland, dry white hoagie roll. Processed swiss cheese and canned Mushrooms all ground together to make a grinder type thing that tasted aweful! My daughter got the ham and cheese hoagie..... processed american, iceburg lettuce and rubbery processed ham.... yuk again. Don't bother, you will be disappointed.

I've lived in Ann Arbor for 25+ yrs and I cant believe I just discovered this gem. Its way out in the boondocks of Ypsi on Mi ave. I've literally driven by this place 100s of times without ever noticing it...if you aren't looking for it, you will probably miss it. Anyhow, the place itself is very straightforward...no frills, just awesome hoagies. I like mine with extra cheese, onions, and mushrooms. And be sure to get the peppers as well...I bought the whole jar and use it at home as a topping for hot dogs, hamburgers, etc... Also try the lunch meat special if you are in the mood for something different...basically a cold italian sub. I don't know what meats go into this...pretty sure ham is one one. But it's very simple and blows away any cold sub from your typical sub places. You gotta get peppers on this as well. Lastly...everything is under $5!

Not bad at all, could of been better taste wise when it came to the cheese steak. I took one home and let the juices soak and mmm it was good.

Checked this place out when I was in town last weekend, and I'm glad I did. This place has been around for 50 years or so and they basically sell one item: cheesesteaks. If you can last that long with just one item on your menu, you must be doing something right.

  • Brad T.

Perfect cheese steak sandwiches. Simple menu, good service, nothing complicated, just yummy cheese steaks and that's all. The interior is exactly what you'd expect from a small cheese steak take out place, the location is out of the way and weird (but that makes it feel special in my opinion), and the food is just awesome. Really, if you're going to a cheese steak take out place and you expect anything else than what I've written here, you're nuts. It's a cheese steak restaurant halfway between Ypsilanti and Canton on Michigan avenue, leave all pretension at the door and you'll experience one of the most unique dining experiences in Southeast Michigan.

I am a third generation Gabriel's patron. I used to enjoy my hoagie with mushrooms and cherry peppers. I have recently changed to no mushrooms, extra cheese and easy on the cherry peppers (so good!). I visit this chain whenever I visit my family in Michigan since I recently moved.

This place is great. Absolute dive and they do it wonderfully. I get the cheesesteak with everything on it. Thinly sliced ribeye on the flat top. Top that with grilled onions, American cheese, mushrooms, and a sweet pepper relish. The sweet peppers are a delicious substitute from the traditional bell pepper. The real kicker is their delicious soft steamy hoagie roll. It ties everything together so nicely. Those girls know what they're doin back there.

So my hubby brought me here some 14 years ago, and I had heard mention of this place from friends over the years. However, they never mentioned the amazing ham and cheese salads which seem to be equal amounts of toppings to vegetables. Yummmmo! We usually buy a jar of the hot peppers to have on hand at home... But get the cheese steaks with mushrooms and I get provolone and American cheese as well on mine, super cheese!!! So delicious, hot and gooey with a few spoonfuls of peppers. Comfort food fast.

The best. My mom used to bowl with Lillian the original owner, and it's kinda funny I think I've been eating these my whole life. Thanks for keeping it original. Just wish that there was one in Boaz Alabama. Have to get my fill every time we come back. The Cheese steak are great, but the Special is my favorite. Keep cooking and see you in August.

  • Mickie W.

My husband took me to this place several years ago bragging that it's the BEST cheese steak in the area. I had my doubts considering the size of the place but YUMMO. I base all my cheese steak reviews on this one. I wish they had more choices but I guess if you do something right, then stick with it. Sometimes the line is crazy but they get through it pretty quick.

How have I lived here for years and never heard of or been to this place? These are great cheesesteaks.. nothing fancy on the menu, cold sandwhiches and cheesesteaks. The chilies are awesome and the prices are great. They have a lot of history here and have been in business since 1959.. If you want a great cheesesteak .. go here.. plain and simple.. Extra Cheese, Chilies and mushrooms.. fantastic

One word that sort of encapsulates Gabriel's = "simple" This would apply to both the location and the sandwiches themselves. I believe hoagies are typically considered "cold" and might encompass a more broad line of ingredients. So if correct - that would NOT be a term best used for this location. The sandwich ingredients are made hot to order. The term cheese steak might better apply; although I would not consider this to the magnitude of what some might compare as genuine "Philly" quality. The first thing to understand is this is a "grab n go" style location. There is a minor seating area (but that is used mostly used while waiting for the cooked to order food). This place is very small (to say the least) and pretty much a cash counter with a cook line behind it. The couple of times I have frequented - there has always been a number of people in line getting food. So no doubt they are liked and doing good business on the simplicity aspect. If you are going to eat here - you basically have one thing in mind - a craving for a steak sandwich.. There is more of a standard sandwich (steak and grilled onions) and then one with the cheese. Add mushrooms if you like. I personally like the cheesesteak (but both sandwiches are good in their own way). It is nice to see them make your sandwich cooked to order and the freshness probably has a lot to do with drawing people in. My only real complaint is the food could raise to a whole new level for sake of the bun itself. (Hey - I'm a bread guy - what can I say?) All they use is a typical sub bun for the outside (and when you talk about more elite steak sandwich's - a lot stems from the bread). I would venture to say it is a major starting point as the basis for what makes these Philly type sandwiches different from the next - as the ingredients on the inside themselves are pretty straightforward. It's a bit of a letdown in that area when it comes to my final rating. What I will counter in saying though - in my opinion the cheese is balanced nicely on the sandwich (if you order that style) and not overbearing or just dripping all over. So it makes for a nice taste. Prices are right where they need to be and comparable to anything else. In closing - I think this place does the job and could be considered a great lunch or "on the go" stop. Would I drive across metro Detroit or further - not a chance - it's not that enticing. Yet locally it is worth checking out and will curve any steak sandwich craving you have at the time.

Walked in, told the gentlemen at the counter it was my first time..he was extremely enthusiastic for me. He highly recommended the steak and cheese w/ peppers. Great call. Came out in 3 mins. Great food, awesome staff

Best hoagies in town! The cheese steak with peppers is phenomenal! The deli sandwich is good too!

Yes, it's a hole in the wall... yes, it's out of my way... and yes, don't expect to find a lot of items on their menu... they keep it simple and that's how it should be!! and YES, its under $6 with mushroom added!! Walk up the stairs and through the doors, up to the counter and order what you want... there's steady flow of customers, but food comes out fast... I went with cheese steak hoagie with extra cheese and mushroom... i did not get onions with mine, but don't forget them as they give that little extra flavor. Do get the peppers... I got mine on the side, but next time I go, I'll ask for them on the hoagie. I somehow accidentally ordered two hoagies... LOL... I was going to eat the second one, but asked it be packed to go. The hoagies come cut in two pieces... yeah... it was gone within two minutes... and as I looked at the other hoagie in my bag... I was ready to finish it, but had to save room for dinner... as for the size, it's about 8 inches long... so one will fill you up... they also have small bag of chips and they serve pepsi (not a fan of pepsi, but did end up ordering the diet pepsi). From where I live to Gabriel's, it about 15 min drive... that's going to highway and backroads... but it's worth it... you'll find me here again.

My wife of 1 year tomorrow (143 babe!), introduced me to Gabriel's and the rest is history. They menu is very small, consisting of Cheese Steak Hoboes, Steak Hogies, lunchmeat sub, salad and soft drinks. Everything is priced under $5.

I came here a few days ago with my husband after reading the reviews on here and driving by it twice now, we took a chance. The place was smaller than I expected though, but it had a nostalgic feeling from the past which kept me on my toes. We got carry out and both of us ordered the Cheese Steak Hoagies and added mushrooms for an extra $0.65. It took them about 10 to 15 minutes to prepare and finish making our hoagies. We ate the two hoagies as soon as we got home. The bread was nicely toasted which kept the bread from becoming soggy. The meat seemed as fresh as it could be and rather tender. The cheese melted nicely and it's only an extra $0.30 for more cheese for those of you who are cheese lovers. The onions definitely made it more of a real Cheese Steak Hoagie, but, coming from Philadelphia myself and in comparison to a real authentic Philly Cheese Steak Hoagie, this shop has nothing on them. For their rendition, it is a quick decent and reasonable price for their menu. My only complaint was that I bit into chunks of fat while eating this hoagie. I, personally, do not like fat chunks at all and to have it in a hoagie is a big NO NO. Because of that and the improper upkeep cleaning maintenance to this little shop, I dropped the stars to 4 stars. I actually think that 4 stars is a bit too generous since I'm unsure if I would like to return. I will definitely give this some more thought and update. *Update: After much thought, my husband and I both have decided that we wouldn't return again. It could have been the workers that threw it off for us, but I believe there is better somewhere else. Because of this, I dropped another star since 4 stars is really too generous.

I absolutely love these cheesesteak hoagies. They always have beautiful women behind the counter. Super friendly, fast service, plenty of parking space, and always leave satisfied. For anyone reading this that has not stopped in to try their food, it's a must place to eat. PS add the peppers... Enjoy

So Gabriel's is a Ypsilanti institution which serves amazing cheesesteaks. That's basically it. What's cool about this mile of Michigan Avenue is that you have three amazing places that all essentially have one really great product, Bill's- hot dogs, Roy's- burgers and Gabriel's- cheesesteaks. I love that they are all small businesses and have a longtime relationship with the community. Some quick tips- order your cheesesteak with mushrooms! They do take credit cards here (not at Bill's, or Roy's.. which is why this place wins out if I'm short on physical cash). Order a cookie for dessert, really soft and a great compliment to your meal. Only compliant- no visible bathroom for customers.

Not a big variety, but if it's a cheese steak you want, and you don't want to drive to Philadelphia, this is a decent hoagie. Everybody in my group got a cheese steak hoagie with mushrooms. Some got double mushrooms, some got double cheese. I highly recommend the double cheese! The bread was a little too light and flaky for this type of sandwich, and it was a bit on the small side. The real shame was that they didn't use the Whiz! The result was rather bland. That being said, the price was right, and the service was fast and cheerful! It's a small place, so get there before 12:00 if you're planning to eat lunch there. It fills up quick. Unfortunately for them, I've been to Philadelphia and had 11 cheese steaks in 3 days. There were good and mediocre, but most were still better than Gabriel's.

After a bad experience with Mr. Spots, my family decided to check out Gabriel's - and I am SO glad that we did. First of all, the employees were super-friendly and welcoming. The cheesesteak hoagies were amazing and I felt like I wanted to eat 3 of them. :) Can't beat the prices either! We WILL be back!

Gabriel's has been serving up tasty concoctions since 1959. They have kept their menu simple. Therefore having time to concentrate on perfecting the selections. There's the plain hoagie, the cheese steak hoagie, ham & cheese and the lunchmeat special. The lunchmeat special is similiar to an italian sub but not quite. The cheese steak hoagie is my favorite. Served on a sourdough like bun. Thinly sliced and chopped beef layered on a smathering of cheese. Topped with mushrooms, onions with a heathy dose of chili pepper relish.True delishness and enough for two meals. Takeout orders are wrapped in papers that hold in the heat. They arrive to the destination while still piping hot. Yes, really. Pricing remains just under $5. In recent years salads have been added to the menu. But, why is my thought. A location has been opened in Westland and I'm hearing one is due to open soon in Ann Arbor.

I think it's clear that I need some therapy regarding my cheesesteak obsession. It's ok, I've come to terms with it. I recognize that I have a problem, but I'm okay with said problem, therefore I will never seek therapy for it. The cheesesteak here was delicious. They really do it well and it rivals Izzy's in Ann Arbor (currently my favorite hoagie). The bread is fresh and soft, the meat tender and flavorful, the onions sweet and almost caramelized and the whole thing is really reasonable. I did find the sub lacking the cholesterol-raising grease, but regardless it was a tasty sub. The service was great; quick, super friendly and the place was tiny but clean. I will definitely go back if I'm in the area.

This place is a hole in the wall. No atmosphere to speak of, it is slightly reminiscent of a bowling alley snackbar. The sandwiches are absolute heaven so I could care less. This is the best cheese steak outside of Philly. There is no real variety at Gabriels. You can have a cheese steak hoagie, a plain steak hoagie, a lunchmeat special (popular) or a ham and cheese. They also have a garden salad or a ham and cheese salad. You can also buy assorted bags of chips and Pepsi products. That is it. Really the only thing to order for my taste is a cheesesteak, I recommend extra cheese for sure, extra onions are great, mushrooms I can take or leave. The cherry pepper topping is a must. Get it on the side and just sample it if you must. That stuff haunts me in my dreams I tell ya. They sell jars of it and I am tempted, GERD and all. My husband is just anti-onion and hates it here. Spoilsport. I don't think they do cheese steak without the onions, I mean c'mon. This place is legendary at any rate and frankly my husband is just being picky as usual. The rest of my family adores it here. No coupons but everything in this joint is under 5 bucks. You have to try Gabriels, it's amazing.

Worried about a low score on your cholesterol test? Fear not. Gabriel's Cheese Steak Hoagies will help. I love this place and give it 5 stars for it's focus and value. A great steak hoagie on a soft white bread roll, served by an always pleasant staff. I usually get the steak hoagie, no cheese, extra peppers. What about their other offerings - a complete listing of which follows: "lunchmeat special", "ham & cheese", "ham & cheese salad", "garden salad"? I'll never know. Who wants to order "lunch meat" at a place with "Steak Hoagie" in their name?

  • Barbi P.

The place is the best. I am not a big cheese steak fan but my grandfather would always talk about how he use to stop in here on his way home from work and hes old enough to be considered a dinosaur at this point so you know they have been doing things right for a long time. I get the cold cut sandwich and it is amazing. I stay awake at night sometimes thinking about the oil and herbs they drizzle on top.mmmm. Earlier this month I got a sandwich on my way out of town and didn't have a chance to eat it for 3 days. the bread was hard and soggy at the same time and the lettuce was wilted and brown but it was still SO good that I couldn't just throw it out. My newer addiction is the salad. It is so basic that you would think anyone could make it but I can't find anyone that does it right. The salads are huge so you wont be able to down one with a sandwich but it doesn't stop me from ordering both. I hope this place is able to survive the "remodel" the county is doing on Michigan ave. It isn't the prettiest place and it isn't a major chain and those seem to be the two biggest qualifications for the county shutting a business down on this road.

I was here on vacation and once I had one hoagie, I ended up eating one everyday until I had to leave. They were so good! Anytime I come to Ypsilanti, I will be eating here. (:

  • Debra T.

I was born in Ypsilanti and went to Gabriel's as a child. We moved away and went back 30 years later and it's STILL the best tasting hoagie I have EVER had. The hoagies were as good as I remembered!!!

  • Beth S.

My husband ordered the cheesesteak which was edible but nothing special. I ordered the ham and cheese hoagie and the bread completely fell apart. I don't think we'll be returning there any time soon.

    (2)
  • Jerry D.

This is NOT a Philadelphia cheesesteak; not even close! The one ingredient that makes or breaks a cheesesteak is the roll, and this roll sucks! It's a glorified hotdog bun on steroids! It's dry, falls apart, and is flavorless... The cheese they use is yellow American slices from a processed block of cheese and there not even melted. All in all, it's an okay sandwich, but it should't be called a cheesesteak; it's a beef hoagie on a hotdog bun.

  • Ron W.

My father started going to Gabriel's Hoagies when they opened in 1959 on US-112 (Business US-12 today). Although they no longer serve their 16" sandwiches, the ones they offer today are about a foot-long. Moreover, they serve up some of the best cheesesteak hoagies in Southeast Lower Michigan. While other hoagie shops have come and gone in the area, Gabriel's is still the best.

I have been going here since I was a kid and I love my cheese steak with double cheese and hot pepper relish. So good my man and I went there on a particularly broke anniversary and walked away happy:)

I have never had a Philadelphia cheese steak hoagie so I cannot compare it to those. I will say that many many people have said that they are "overrated" as a benchmark for cheese steak, but again, I have no frame of reference to them. However, Gabriel's cheese steak hoagie is brilliant in its simplicity. The steak is great quality. I have seen it in the raw when they are preparing it before cooking. And, as anyone knows, fat is where the flavor comes from. It is lean meat but it does have fat which accounts for the flavor since otherwise there is no discernible spice used. I would prefer Swiss cheese on it because I like the bite of Swiss but the cheese they use is subtle and adds a smooth, creamy taste. I do not get onions or mushrooms as I like neither on a sandwich. The icing on the cake so to speak is their cherry pepper blend. Simply awesome. It's the only place I have found with such a blend. I've been to a few nice delis in New York and Montreal and both had peppers but none were as good as Gabriel's. Best of all is you can buy a jar to take home. I also used to get their Lunch Meat Special sandwich. It is also very good but I'm not a fan of the oil they put on it. Minus the oil and add the peppers and it is awesome as well. The "waitresses" are sweet and courteous. I do wish they would add a custom root beer to the menu. They otherwise have Pepsi products which I hate. Ice cold Coke or root beer would elevate them to 5 stars. Someone complained about dry bread. Not that there is an excuse for that, but from my hundreds of times eating at Gabriel's I have one had that happen a couple of times. They get their bread fresh daily.

My favorite cheesesteak hoagie around. Order extra cheese and mushrooms if you like them, you won't be disappointed. Fantastic. Gotta go here if you are in the area and if you aren't, it's worth the drive.

GEM GEM GEM!!!! Only about 7 items on the menu! I always get the party subs (Lunch meat special easy onion) for my kids bday parties here, & I always get compliments from the guests on how great the sub was!! And lemme tell you about the FAMOUS HOGIES! It really doesnt get it any get better. I havent found a place yet that has come close to the taste of the deliciousness! EXTRA CHEESE PLEASEEEEEEE!!!!!!! and make sure you get a side of the pepper sauce for a lil kick. I can go on and on and on, but just go and try for yourself! GO GO NOW!

Pretty good overall. Not exactly like you'd get in Philly but tasty and tender. I recommend double cheese, and provolone , with mushrooms

  • Marie H.

I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE 5 STARS BUT I THINK THE MENU IS WAY TOO SMALL. & I want my hoagie bun grilled & they wont do it. I also think the staff could be friendlier. I have always wanted fries when i went here. The hoagie I would give 4 stars also. I have only had one other hoagie that was better. Its pretty heavy as a hoagie should be & sometimes I feel sickly after but i dont think its the food. I have never had a bad hoagie here either & never had order messed up. I have been here plenty of times. If your looking for a good hoagie they are worth the drive to get it.

Stumbled across this place by accident and boy was I surprised. When we drove by we saw a constant flow of customers coming in and out with big smiles on their faces. One great indicator! Second great sign was bright yellow awning with the label they have been opened since 1959 as the Original CheeseHoagie spot! Third sign: Simple and short food menu... Minus all the 100 of cleaver names and ingredients. I personally respect a business that have the confidence to refine their offerings to the few items. It's like badge of honor to say you are the best at you do everyday! Deal with it! Lol! Fourth sign: clean & cool dining room and efficiency staff. Fifth sign: super delicious hoagies! I added cheese and mushrooms and I felt like I was in paradise! Soft bun, seasoned beef etc... How can you go wrong! Plus the sandwich was only $7! Another awesome treasure in Ypsilanti! I love it!

Ok; its offical Gabriel's is a 10 out of 10. If you read my reviews....you know I rarely give out 5 stars, but when you're doing it right and the quality is undeniable....I have no choice. The Salads are made to order, nothing pre-made in the morning and sitting in coolers. The cold cut sub was meaty and fresh. With the young ladies, providing exceptional customer service, you can't go wrong.

I wanted a cheese steak! So I searched Yelp for Philly cheese steak. Several places came up, but they all referenced hoagies. So I checked some pictures, and felt comfortable enough that phillies and hoagies are in the same family of sandwiches. I live much closer to Gabriel's Saline location, but with its mixed reviews I figured I'd try this location first so I can make a true comparison if I visit Saline. When I pulled up and got out of the car, the first thing I noticed was the smell. You can smell the steak. To me that was a good sign. The place is small and simple. Customer service isn't anything special, just enough to take care of the business you came in for. The process is very efficient. You order and wait, they call your name, and you leave (or eat in if you'd like) There isn't much seating, and is occupied mostly by folks waiting on their order. The sandwiches are made to order, and you can see the ladies in the back making the sandwiches, and there was a lady on the front line cutting, wrapping, and bagging. I ordered a regular cheese steak, and waited about 10 minutes. The hoagie was simple with a great balance of meat and cheese. I didn't realize I could choose another cheese until I heard that someone ordered theirs with provolone. I was pleased that the sandwich wasn't soggy. There was no mayo, like there is on phillies, but interestingly enough I didn't miss the mayo. Side are very limited- just two options of Lays potato chips, BBQ or Classic. So I decided to stop at Kroger on my way home and pick up a few things, mainly to get my own bag of chips and drink that would last longer (I was thinking I would split the hoagie in to tow meals - didn't happen that way). When I got home, to my surprise the hoagie was still warm enough to eat without having to reheat, and I ate the whole thing. One note, be sure to watch your step leaving the building. There is a nice little drop from the inside to the step. I noticed a few people being taken by surprise. An older lady almost fell and drop her hoagie, luckily there was another person coming in that caught her. I would definitely consider visiting again if I'm craving a cheese steak.
