Warning to vegetarians & vegans: Found out through questioning that their "vegetarian" section included foods cooked in chicken broth! They said they would change it when asked; resulting meal was way too salty. Service attentive, tho waiter didn't seem very knowledgable. Aso couldn't get club soda, no bar,

We have been eating here since the day they opened. They're the best Chinese in GR hands down. The restaurant is clean, the kitchen is clean and the owner is very nice. The fare is pretty standard, but the quality is top notch.

Very happy with their food! Their curry shrimp is delicious, soups are yummy, so far I've enjoyed just about everything, one item I wasn't too happy with was their pad thai. Service has always been great.

Somewhere between a 3 and 4, flipped a coin and put 3. All the food is pretty good and lunch deals are well priced. Probably my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant in the area.

Tasted just like any other Chinese restaurant

This used to be my favorite chinese restaurant in the area, but unfortunately the food tonight was tasteless.

Visited here the other day and was impressed. Blue Ginger serves what I would call Americanized Chinese food--not especially authentic or creative, but what most have come to expect for Chinese restaurant fare. While this isn't always my thing, Blue Ginger is definitely provides food that's a step above the take out joints. The veggies in my were crisp and food wasn't overly greasy or overflowing in unnatural looking sauces. Pleasantly surprised as the service was exceptional and the interior looked clean. Dine in and takeout.

The service was OK but the food made up for it. The flavors were wonderful and the beef and chicken in the dishes we ordered was tender and delicious The egg rolls and rangoons were great. My wife has been there a lot more than I and orders something different every time and says that one is as good as the next.

Blue Ginger is my faovorite Chinese this side of town. I've never eaten in, however their take-out is amazing! Check it out if you're unsatisfied with some of the Chinese options in the Grandville/Wyoming area.

Blue Ginger Asian Kitchen; service started out slow, edaname took 25 minutes they were in between lunch & dinner, not busy at all inside seating, although we saw several people coming in for pickup. We ordered the General sesame orange chicken, it was very tasty, I asked for sauté white meat and not deep fried they had no problem doing that, $10.55 and vegetable lettuce cups $8.25. The portions were fair, the restaurant was clean, and our waitress was brand new and had to ask a lot of questions, she was very friendly & sweet. They have very reasonable lunch specials before 3:00 Monday-Saturday.

The best Chinese in SW Michigan hands down! We used to drive 40 miles just to eat here. It's not super fancy, but definately very clean with nice decor and atmosphere than your runofthemill strip mall Chinese. Everything we've had has been delicious and I even took my strict vegan friend there. Highly recommend: spring rolls (get an order to go too), crab cheese (aka rangoon) LOVE the Mongolian Beef (get an extra one of those to go too!) The only thing I miss about Grand Rapids is Blue Ginger. We still go out of our way just to get a fix -- and always order extra to go because who knows when we'll be back!

Looks like I'm still looking for a good Chinese restaurant. The food was okay but not what I would consider great. The biggest disappointment is that a third of our take-out order was missing. Didn't realize it until we got home so back we went. I could excuse that if the food was amazing, but that's just not the case here. We ordered General Tso, sweet-n-sour chicken and some Lo-mein. The noodles were the only thing that I really enjoyed. I love a good spicy General Tso chicken but this didn't even approach spicy, and the flavor was just not that impressive. The sweet-n-sour was for the kids so I cannot comment on that. I may give it a second try, but as of right now. Not impressed.

It's your typical American-Chinese Restaurant. The food is alright, cheap and the lunch is served fast. I had the lunch Orange Chicken..... it was overly breaded (but I have yet to find an American-chinese restaurant not do that!), the sauce was to sweet for me but it was edible, it came with fried rice & 2 crab ragoons (why can't any of these Chinese restaurants actually put more filling inside of their ragoons!!) it cost me $6.95. The place look clean and the people were nice.

We were staying at the Hyatt down the street and wanted to order some take out. Blue Ginger was close, and so happy we ended up there! We've been talking about how to get back again. We were there on business, and I'm looking forward to the next trip to GR so we can feast here again! We made a pretty large order and everything was excellent. I dare say, you can't make a mistake!

I really like the food. The value for my money is great. I always have enough leftovers to take home. I love the fire pot appetizer. Best part is you don't get the scoots like you do at other Chinese restaurants.

Food was good had the generals chicken and it had a little too much sauce but not horrible by any means. Service attentive. For the price charged I think it was a great place to go for lunch. Not the most amazing Chinese restaurant I have been to, but a good solid place I would return to

One star only because I couldn't select less than that. We ordered orange beef and asked for it extra spicy and Hunan chicken which should be a spicy dish. The chicken had a hint of spice and the Orange beef was totally bland. The beef was described as "lightly" breaded when in fact we couldn't find the beef. Mentioned the spice/flavor issue to The waiter and his solution was to bring us a bottle of sriracha sauce. If we wanted to drown our food in Sriracha we can do that at home. Restaurant was also dirty (should have paid more attention when we walked in) crud on the wall of our booth. While paying I was asked "so how was everything tasting tonight?" To which I responded "disappointing". I explained why and her response was "I'm sorry" here is your change, have a nice night". Why ask if you're not going to pay attention to the answer?

This is just another American-Chinese food restaurant. Don't let the name fool you. There is no ginger here! They have the basic dishes at cheap prices... nothing I would care to eat or experience again. The service was nice. Cleanliness? Again, it's your typical American-Chinese restaurant.

Ok food, but they charge you whatever they want no matter what the menu says. The $6 Pad Thai lunch was actually $6.95. The worker said the price changed and they didn't change the menu. How much does a sharpie marker cost?

Out of towner just here for a few days. I had dinner from here and it was great! Hunan combo was just a tad bit spicy, and really good. Egg drop soup was traditional, somewhat bland was still good. Pork fried rice was great!! Just a really good traditional Chinese meal.

I love Blue Ginger! Compared to the other Chinese restaurant in town, it is phenomenal. I always get the veggie summer rolls - so fresh, so wonderful. Oh gosh, I am salivating just thinking about it.

Is it the best Asian Food restaurant in Grand Rapids? Maybe not, but the food is still delicious. It's been open for 7 years and I had no clue until I accidentally discovered them today. Wouldn't make it a destination Asian food restaurant but when I'm in the area and crave some crab ragoons or pad thai... This WILL be my spot!

One of my favorite places to get a good bowl of Hot and Sour soup, Crab Rangoon, and Mongolian Beef. It shouldn't be surprising the number of variations that can be found for both Hot and Sour soup and Mongolian Beef. However, this restaurant replaces my old favorite (and long closed) Three's Happiness on the northwest side for Chinese food.

Well I don't think they were that great at all. First off, The decor inside for eating in isn't very good, if you are eating in. It's not a very inviting set up. Then I opened the menu. Dinner include nothing but the main fish your ordering and white rice. I said 'how much for fried rice instead of steamed rice?' They said it's a $4 up charge. Wow!! Then I was like 'how much for chicken fried rice instead of stemmed rice?' They said I have to pay the full price for a full order of chicken fried rice, they dot do smaller portions. Fine. You just told me you offer no flexibility with your menu. So give me the fried rice. After telling him I will pay for the full plate of chicken fried rice and I don't want steamed rice I'm thinking this better be some amazing fried rice to add another $9 to my order for rice that I only pay a $2 up charge for at my favorite place right around the corner on 44th street. It was good, but it was not $9 amazing when I only wanted a dinner portion with my general chicken in the first place. The general chicken was pretty good. It was better than most actually. But they offer the same prices for dinner as other places without any extras. No soup, no egg roll and absolutely no flexibility in the menu without charging crazy amounts. The place on 44th offers the same things with only a $2 up charge for switching from white steamed rice to fried rice. AND the place on 44th has amazing chicken fried rice with huge chunks of chicken in it. This trip cost me close to $40 to feed me an my son. Like I said, the general chicken was good-but not that good. I get the same exact meal around the corner on 44th, with better chicken fried rice for about half the price. The server was nice enough, but that doesn't make up for my disappointment. If I were you, I would take Byron center down a little further and turn right on 44th. Drive until you see a shopping center on your right with a Chinese restaurant in it, that's where you go!! Some amount of food same or better quality at half the price!! That's where I will be going. Oh yea, an the decor on the inside of the 44th st restaurant is much more inviting if you are dining in.

This has become our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. This is not a Chinese buffet, it's a nice, casual "sit-down" type of place. Everything I have ordered here was excellent.

So I travel for work a lot, plus it was down the street from my hotel. Anyways, I gave it a try...ordered the General Tso, the sauce on it was good, but the chicken was horrible chewy, each piece was bad and hard to eat. I can assume it was overcooked/ dried out. Since it was take-out, I only finished 1/3 of it and the rest went into the trash. Pretty disappointed as I had high hopes from the reviews here.

Good service - very friendly. My husband and I are regulars here. A step up from your regular Chinese buffet type restaurant - very clean. Food is typical chinese and portions are large and pricing is fair. Highly recommend.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
