Too Overpriced for an average burger. The fries which are not included with the burger, were horrible. I ordered one of their house draft beers, and it was disgusting,, I actually sent it back for a safe bottled beer. Service was just meh. Not going back

Went saturday night around 10:00. Was seated right away. Very friendly staff. I was so impressed with the owner of the place replying to the reviews on here that I wanted to go and come back and write a glowing review. Well... I like the place. Certainly is different in the Downriver landscape. The food was just ok though. I cannot rave about an $8.00 burger when I can get a better burger for half that at almost any bar downriver. The Mac and cheese was good but could have been a little creamier. I got their signature soda sampler that let me try 4 of their sodas. Again nothing special, though the Black Cherry soda was excellent. This is a likeable place. They are trying hard, but at these prices the food has got to come up a notch. I'd come back if I was out on a date, but not if I just wanted a good burger.

By chance we went to Bagger Daves and again the food was good, but this time service was very good too. We were in hurry and went to BWW and found there was a 30 min wait, so we seen only a handful of cars across street so we thought we'd give it another try. We said we were in a bit of a hurry and we had our drinks and food shortly after. I hope the good experience wasn't just because the place was empty, but definitely willing to go back at this point.

I had the tuscan chicken sandwich and my husband had a burger everything was very very good!! The fries are amazing and there own soda is very good as well! Highly recommend it!!! My waitress was awesome !!

Good variety of burgers. Come on Thursday for half off craft beer on draft.

Food sucks, seriously. I ordered the tomato onion basil grilled cheese, more onion than the tomato, cheese and basil combined. I should have taken a picture! Just another disappointing downriver restaurant.

3:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon (fathers day) and I was told there was a 25 minute wait for my party of 2. I pointed out numerous open and set tables, (more than 5) and a parking lot only 2/3 full. I was told there was nothing they could do. The staff was young and inexperienced so I just left. I cant see myself going back anytime in the near future.

Food was okay, but a little pricey for what you get. I would say that it was a good burger, but failed to amaze me and be labeled a great burger. I love the fries since they are made in peanut oil. Service was just okay. There was nothing that stood out and would make me come back again unless I was in the area.

Went there tonight. Made a yelp specifically to post this. The parking lot was half full. There was a half hour wait with open tables everywhere. Will not go back until they get it together. We also went there a week ago with the same results but we actually waited and the food was decent

The service I received here was probably the most remarkable - we had excellent service. I used the Build Your Burger option which was really fun. I wouldn't say it was the best burger ever but it was certainly decent and the fun of the build your burger menu adds to the experience. I also had the sweet potato chips with the honey cinnamon sauce and would definitely order those again. Last but not least I tried the mystery soda, which turned out to be Pomegranate Lemonade and that was also quite good.

Tried this place with my retired father, we had higher expectations. It was noisy, the staff didn't have a friendly feel, and the burgers were OK not amazing like you would expect for the price but OK. If this place is busy you probably want to find somewhere else to go as both of my trips here resulted in a long wait for service.

The burgers are boring, the only good thing is the staff, too bad they encourage typical corporate robot behavior instead of making it cool and fun!

Wow what a disappointment. Poor service, poor tasting burgers and $4.50 beer. The help seemed like zoombies.

If you came when it first opened and was disappointed you must try them again. Very friendly, service was good, and the food was great. They are so much better then the first few weeks they were open. We will be back.

I went here expecting the worst from these reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe they've read these reviews or maybe it was just because it was a Sunday night. Whatever the reason, thank God. We got there around 7pm and it was pretty full. We were told we'd have a 20 minute wait and that they'd text us when our table was ready. I thought it was odd that in a place that I had read had lines out of the door waiting, they had one tiny bench that seats maybe 4 people to wait on. So, we waited outside...for only about 10 minutes before our table was called. What got me here was that we were seated a table for 6...for the 2 of us. It was nice that we didn't have to wait long, but I noticed shortly after we were seated that there was a family of about 5-6 that came in and waited for almost half of our meal for a table nearby to clear up, while there was a 2 person table that cleared up as soon as we sat down next to us. Our waitress was pretty cool, but tired and she wasn't shy about letting us know it. She gave us the info on the homemade sodas, letting us know that the mystery drink was "nasty pomegranate carbonated lemonade" and that "we didn't want it." I ordered the black cherry soda, which our waitress described as a cross between Rock & Rye and Coke, and S got the orange. I was unimpressed. The flavor of the pop was good, but it was hardly carbonated and just tasted like flat pop. S' pop tasted no different than a bottle of Crush. Also, there are no prices for the soft drinks on the menu...but they're almost $3 a piece. Not worth it, if you ask me. We had the "spicy" artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was covered in pico and had jalapenos in it. It completely drowned out the "artichoke" taste and it just tasted like warm pico and it came with tortilla chips. I ordered a customized burger since nothing really appealed to me and S got the BBQ burger. My burger was good, exactly what I ordered (thanks to those helpful sheets on the table!), and cooked perfectly. $7 for a half pound prime rib burger is not bad at all. S was indifferent on his and said it was "alright." Fries don't come with your burger, so $3 for a side of those....which weren't anything to call home about. With the half pound burger, you can definitely split a side though. Overall, we paid $32, which is pretty average to me for a night out. We will probably go again, but stick with water and skip the appetizer.

I showed up for the first time and I can would recommend this to anyone who like burgers and beer. The beer selection was somewhat short but I was still satisfied with mine, and the food was unique and packed with flavor.

Great craft beer choice. Had a local brew from Mount Pleasant - MT. Town Brewery called the TrainWreck, which was very good. Thursday's has 50% which would have been nice. Got a burger and fries; that was very good. All around pretty good chill place. Never go wrong with a burger.

Very good burgers and the turkey burger was surprisingly good. Lots of tv's and fun way to order by just checking boxes on an order sheet on the table.

Concept is amazing. Food mediocre. Service thumbs down. Won't return. The only plus was gluten free options.

I really like the unique food and drinks that are offered at this restaurant. And they have a train that goes around the seating area! Choo choo!

    (4)
  • Diane V.

The burgers were good but not better than Red Robin. Nice atmosphere (love the train) but just too expensive for a burger joint. You have to pay extra for fries! I do like all the sauce choices (even though I personally didn't love any of them, but that's just me). My advice is to go to Red Robin for burgers for about the same price and are just as good but come with bottomless fries.

We headed there on a Tuesday evening; upon arriving at the front door we noticed numerous tables open on the patio but lots of people waiting to be seated. The hostess informed us of a 20 minute wait so we figured we would head to the bar and grab a drink well we were waiting. Well walking to the bar we again noticed numerous tables open. At the bar service was "ok" but by no means friendly or enticing to stay and have a drink or watch the game. We received a text that our table was ready in about ten minutes. Our waitress was mediocre at best and the waitstaff in general seemed rather stressed. We had the spinach artichoke dip which was decent. All of the burgers were alright, but nothing any of us would return for (we could make a better burger ourselves). Finally the alcoholic beverages were pretty sugary. I order a hard cider which tasted like sprite and Marciano cherries - ugh! If you're looking for great burgers, head somewhere else. If you'd like to have a very bland mediocre experience or some great Michigan beers on tap head to Bagger Dave's.

We were reluctant to go to this restaurant because of some of the bad reviews. Either this was new restaurant problems, OR some nearby restaurants are trying to make this new place look bad. There were probably eight or ten employees near the door to greet us immediately as our party of four arrived at 5PM. There were plenty of tables available and we could sit where we wanted too. Most of us had our choice of hamburgers or turkey burger and fries. All of us agree that the food was great. Waitress came back multiple times to refill our drinks. Mostly enjoyable. The only gripe was that they sat a family of five with three little kids. One was very young and was constantly screaming. That did not make us happy. I wish they would think about doing that next to a group of seniors. Otherwise, the restaurant was very nice.

Burgers are excellent; love the "create your own" so many choices. Sweet potato chips are a hit. Good beer selection, GREAT SERVICE!

When they first opened, I was super giddy. I had a positive experience near the Brighton area and was anxious to eat more good burgers and drink homemade soda. I have gone here three times, now, and I just can't reproduce the same love I had. The buns are always poorly toasted, they taste like they've been out too long. The meat is cooked okay, but not seasoned much, which makes the eater have to heavily rely on the sauces. The service has been anywhere from adequate to poor and I always leave full, but not fulfilled saying, "I don't think I'll come back here, ever again." And yet, like any rocky relationship, I come back hoping that things will be different. Come to think about it, I wonder if they've changed since the last time I was there. Maybe they HAVE changed. I'll give them one more chance.

Service was good, food was not good at all. Mac n cheese was watery, burgers burnt and over cooked, salad was wilted and brown, with too much dressing. My wife liked the house salad. There is much better burgers out there, too bad, this place is a cool concept.

  • Steve S.

When you consider the farm raised turkeys, all the organic stuff, and how the food is actually good quality; then the price does fall into place. To me it was worth the money, and I will come back.

Their burgers and fries are consistent no matter the BD location. We like their burgers, which will be pink if ordered medium. My latest choice was the absolute best - 8oz, medium, Cajun seasoning,Swiss cheese, light mayo and double portion of sautéed mushrooms. Perfection! A tip: if you're creating your own burger and ordering fries, and you don't want the free sauce on your burger, considering getting it in the side for another fry dip. This location no longer gets as packed as it did upon first opening. We've never had to wait for a table...but we've not been there for weekend dinner. Good amount of TVs on the walls. Bar has craft and regular beers. Try their made from scratch sodas, especially the 4-pack sampler.

So I went to Bagger Dave's on a Sunday evening, heard how good the food was and was looking forward to it. Walked in to give the hostess my name and there were several parties waiting to be seated and was told a 25 minute wait while I seen open tables. We decided to just sit at the bar to eat thinking it was going to be faster and it was not. I understand that they are trying to do the craft beer thing, but the selection of brand name beer was poor. The bartenders or should I say bus boys working behind the bar hardly paid any attention to the people sitting at the bar and pretty much just shuffled dishes behind the bar. The menu selection was very poor. The worst thing was that they have home made fries. Home made fries are the worst and the so called bartender even said the customers had been complaining about how bad the fries were. When I finally got my burger I could see that it was frozen before being cooked. It was alright, but nothing to be excited about. Many places in downriver to get a much better bar burger at a better price. They have their own craft pop which had no taste at all. Will never go back and a total waste of time and money. I highly recommend going some place else.

Not a value place to eat. They were busy, it was lunch. We waited 9 minutes after being sat before we were acknowledged by a waitress. They explained the menu, ok pretty interesting. No coke or Pepsi, they have their own "brews". Looked at the menu, decided on water. Burger and fries will put you back $10 plus drink. When we received the burger, it was the same petal shaped frozen burgers that Sysco sells to restaurants yet they claim nothing is frozen. Waitress refilled drinks once. Bad experience. Won't be spending our hard earned money here. Maybe I am just not trendy enough.

All week my fiance and I have been talking about trying this place. We decided tonight was the night!! We walk in to an almost empty restaurant... we were a little skeptical, then we seen a basket full of deodorant, tooth brushes, soap, etc.. which didn't necessarily help our thought process.. we were greeted by a very friendly lady who turned out to be our waitress.. she explained how everything worked.. grabbed our drinks.. my fiance is a very picky person, and their michigan made pop was not for us.. my first reaction when he tells someone his bold emotions on their product is "oh shit, our food is getting spit on" lol but to my surprise she was awesome about the situation and even understood our sarcasm!! She was patient with us.. she also gave us great advice on the food.. we got half fries and half sweet potato chips.. and omg! Delicious!!! The honey dip was amazing!!.. our burgers come and they were so ginormous that I couldn't taste all the flavors at once. The burger was so wet, or greasy that you couldn't hold it.. definitely not somewhere you want to go on a date too.. the flavor was not bad, just was frustrating not being able to hold the burger.. we both ordered ours medium, they tasted fine but definitely looked rare... the manager came by to ask about our experience. We were completely honest, and instead of just smiling and walking away, she seemed like she genuinely cared, and listened.. Oh yea! Erin explained the toiletries!! They are sending them to the troops.. WOOTIE WOOT Pop= not for me fries & sweet potatochips= fucking phenomenal Hamburgers = too sloppy Customer service = 100 % above and beyond, to help us feel as welcome and comfortable as possible Erin and Laurel were absolutely amazing..

This is my second time here. I was here the week they first opened. Our food was good then but the wait to get in was horrible especially since not all the seats were occupied. Forward to today. No wait to get a seat. The food was good. I had the blue cheese burger with fries. The blue cheese was a little saltier than I like but still good. We had the chips with pico de gallo. I really like the pico de gallo. I had a Train-wreck ale which the board said was 8.2 abv. I asked the waitress if it was served in a the snifter. This is common for high abv beers. She said no but I could get it in the snifter. I was surprised when I received the bill and found out I paid for the larger glass of beer. If I would have known I would have had my beer in the pint glass. The only thing that ruined my experience was when a large party came in. It was a group of parents with very young children. The staff sat them at the high top tables in the area I would call the bar. My issue was that the group would not settle in. The waitress walked one of the babies on a tour of restaurant. The parent were standing directly behind me bouncing three babies. The waitress banged three baby carriers against my chair. Before stacking them on a nearby unoccupied table. Then they ran high chairs into my chair. I had to get up and change seats at my table. I sort expect this at a busy bar but there wasn't many people here on a Sunday at 3pm

One and done. My grown sons and I were looking forward to trying this new restaurant. It is very clean inside and has a lot of TVs. Kind of like a buffalo wild wings for hamburgers. We were seated upon arrival to a less than full restaurant. Good. Unfortunately the rest of the service was the worst I've had in years. We eat out often. This was especially poor. Our hamburgers were cooked correctly seated next to cold french fries. The special dipping sauce that supposed to come with the french fries was missing along with the staff. This is the type of restaurant where your waiter doesn't bring the food to the table. And your waiter does not come to the table either. So enjoy your hamburger and your initial drink. Because that's it. The manager did come by before the food was ordered or delivered to see if we were enjoying ourselves. How peculiar since nothing had been served and we never saw the manager again. I was supposed to get a carry out for our daughter. But that waitress just put down my $45 check for 3 for hamburgers and said 'let me know when it's ready'. So much for asking if we needed anything else or maybe a refill? Probably because I'm older I tend to leave a larger tip for hard working wait staff. Not a chance this time. Lowest tip I left in decades. I really don't like that.

Terrible, terrible! Over priced for tasteless food. Typical chain restaurant just appealing to the masses, but don't care about quality.

Worst service and cold burger! Took family out for lunch. The waitress was overwhelmed. Our food was cold and way below its expectations! Server never checked on us after it was delivered. Manager could care Less! 1.5 hrs for a $69 bill! Go to bw3

First we had to endure a 40 minute wait. I don't mind waiting so much, except when I can see a good 1/3 of the tables are open! It's Friday night people, plan accordingly! I'd still rather be seated at a table with a drink waiting than in the vestibule. Bad management planning - 1 star gone. So we ordered the food, and I'm told that they'll only go medium to well-done on a burger (2nd star gone). Sacrilege! I normally order my burger medium rare, so I'm none too happy that I can't get it my way (I know, wrong restaurant). I go ahead and order the basic cheeseburger, with all of the toppings on the side, and an order of fries. The food comes out in decent time and the burger is actually cooked closer to medium rare than medium (happy me). It's got a nice flame grilled crust on it, and is juicy & tasty. The cheese was just basic & bland, and woefully in need of some kaizen. The bun to burger ratio was good, and it came with a large dill pickle that was an excellent accompaniment. The "on the side" condiments (lettuce, onions, tomato) could have served as a salad if I had ordered dressing as a side (which is offered). When I mention this in jest to the server, I got a severe stink eye as a reply. The fries were actually pretty good. My one and only complaint there would be that they were all less than an inch long. Why? Was there a sale on stumpy potato's nobody told me about? Service was OK, nothing stellar. The décor is pleasant if a bit mish-mash. It's a new building that just recently opened so everything is clean and in working order (except the stalls in the women's bathroom. My daughter informed me they had no latches/locks on them & she had to hold it closed while she was in there). I think the price was actually about right for the food based on other comparable restaurants of this type. Will it fit in this area remains to be seen. I would have gone with a solid 2.5 stars if I could have. I was glad my daughter suggested Bagger Dave's as I'd not been yet, and I'd go back, just not as a first choice.

Being from Florida, never had nor heard of a Bagger Dave's. I must say better than Five guys any day, had the turkey burger with the honey cinnamon sea salt sauce, tomatoes and lettuce, I must say, amazing! The side salad with balsamic vinaigrette was amazing as well, but the fries...........WOW!

  • James M.

Been there twice since it opened. Service was really good both times, just wish I could say the same of the food. It was just okay @ best. Fries were actually cold. I know they are pretty new, so I may give them another try?

  • Billy L.

Recently visited Bagger Dave's for the first time, and overall it was a good experience. The beer selection is OK, but for as much as they hype the "we have craft beer" it wasn't an amazing selection. Short's, Founders, Dragonmead and other larger Michigan craft breweries were represented. I like the idea of using a form to build your burger. I wish more places would do this. The burger I built came out really good and I was quite happy with it. My side of sweet potato chips with honey cinnamon sauce were very good except for the occasional chewy chip. I'm not sure if some from the bottom of the barrel made it to me or something, but 95% were just fine.

Everytime I drive by this restaurant the parking lot is nearly empty, so I guess I should have taken the hint, but my father really wanted to try this restaurant so we stopped by. We walked into a very loud and nearly empty restaurant. We were greated and seated pretty fast. The waitress asked for our drink orders, but they don't have regular soda, only special Michigan pop. Michigan is known for some wonderful things, but apparently pop is not one of them. It was awful. We ordered our food and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Fast forward almost a half hour (in a restaurant that was not even 1/4 full) and we finally get our food. My father got the taco salad. It was too soggy to really eat. I got a BBQ burger cooked medium well. It was still much closer to mid rare, but it probably wouldn't have been edible even if it was cooked right. The bacon was like rubber, the tomato was almost green, and the lettuce (just a tiny sliver) was wilted. It was practically drowning in BBQ sauce. The fries, which cost extra in a burger bar, were greasy and cold. The waitress never came back after we got our food except to drop off the bill. Overall, I will not be going back. It was a very disappointing experience. There are plenty of bars downriver with better burgers and better prices.

I LOVED my experience at the Traverse City location a few weeks ago so we decided to go here on a Friday night for a big family dinner. The wait was atrocious but we expected that on a Friday. It was also OBSCENELY loud in there. I get it, it's kind of a trendy bar atmosphere, but we weren't sitting anywhere near the bar and it was a struggle for us to talk amongst ourselves as a family because of all the obnoxious drunks all around us. What are ya gonna do? Not go there on a Friday I guess ;) The reason this experience scored 2/5 wasn't because of the service (which was great) or the atmosphere (which is out of their control except for their very loud music), but because the food SUCKED. I was so surprised. I thought my tuna melt in Traverse City was honestly the best one I had ever eaten. I put that in my Yelp! review! I ordered the exact same thing here. I guess it goes to prove that they do make everything on site and not the typical Applebees type way where they open a package of pre-made food that is the same at every location. The tuna melt was subpar and the macaroni and cheese tasted like the chef accidentally dumped the entire pepper shaker in the pot. Everyone at the table felt their food was definitely over peppered, and with a picky kid at the table who hates pepper and a baby who hates noise, we really just didn't have the same experience as their other location. For the cost of their food, we were definitely disappointed. Just a side note: DO NOT waste your time or money on the honey cinnamon milkshake. It tasted like sour milk. :)

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and is different for the Woodhaven area. The food didnt take long. We made our own burger medium 8oz prime rib on pretzel bun with loaded toppings, Twisted Mac n cheese, & the fresh cut fries and the black cherry cream soda. One word to sum up all the tastes of each of the items would be, "HEALTHY," that being sAid the food was NOT disappointing but not what we expected either. The burger was nothing special it was cooked well but maybe not such a clean/neat presentation. The Mac n cheese was pretty good not heavy at all just light and flavorful but the entree wasnt such a big portion for being an entree. The fries were good and the soda wasnt so sweet that it made my teeth hurt (yes!). Overall nice new experience we will probably come again but only when we are in the mood for it not too frequent.

Burgers are their specialty. But if you order a regular burger without cheese, expect to get yours after everyone is finished eating. My poor mother ordered a regular hamburger without cheese. So when they fixed her order, we had eaten our meals already while she nibbled on fries. All three of us agreed their fries are great but it pairs nicely with your burger. My meal was tasty but slightly over cooked for a medium well blu cheese burger. They use a pretzel bun with gives a rich texture but I find it filling and takes away from the prime rib pattie recipe these use. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. I felt bad for her. The restaurant wasn't busy but she had to wait too long for our orders. And I had to request a new set of utensils. As mine was found to enclose a dirty knife. :/

Being a new place I was expecting some great service and food, only to be disappointed by almost everything. When ordering there was a variety of items to pick from, made my selection of a bbq bacon burger which came out pretty good. My wife did the make your own, and requested well done. I may be use to other locations where you actually get sides and sauces included, but here if you want fries too it's another $3-4. Portion size of dipping sauces are kind of small and cost another $.50 for each additional, more like being nickel and dimed for everything. They have their own pop they offer, which unfortunately tasted a bit flat. Once the food arrived it looked good, but my wife's was very pink and needed to have it well done, a simple request. The waitress said she would have it taken off the bill only to find later they added the burger twice and removed once. When you say you will take care of it I would not think you mean to charge again for it. We received the bill and questioned her about the double charge, at this time and during most of the meal she did not apologize for any of the issues and really did not smile or make it feel like a friendly environment. When requesting anything after our initial complaint on the burger not fully cooked it took a long time to receive any refills or help. When leaving the building waitresses would watch us as we left but not even say bye or anything for that matter. Makes the whole visit seem cold and callous. Although the manager did pass by once right before we could take a bite of our burgers to check on how the food was, the appetizer was good at least. Unless something changes drastically, this is the first and last visit we will be making to the Woodhaven location. Not only did I find it a little expensive for 2 people to eat at a burger place (about $35), but the service itself gave this review a 1 star rating.
