There's a reason you need to break away from the "chains". This place is one of those reasons. Here's why....the food the management the waitstaff the price and the food. Did I say that already? Seriously. Come here. You won't be sorry.

A hidden gem. I grew up in the area and would pass by this place all the time. A good friend of mine told me that he and his family would go their often for the whitefish. By looking at this place you would never think that it would be a place where you would got get some tasty fish and you would be wrong. I am not the kind of person that goes out to order fish, but when I eat here, i do and you should as well. That being, the decor and atmosphere are a bit lacking, but match the expectation set by the exterior. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth a try.

Tim Nick & his staff do a great job on all counts. Just what you want in a local, comfort food place that features excellent burgers, ribs, salads & soups, plus a pretty good list of microbrews and cocktails. Tip - while their Caesar salad is terrific, ask for the dressing on the side, as they tend to really pile it on. AMAZING clam chowder!!

This is my father-in-law's regular; I'd heard him talk about it a few times before I went for the first time and I was sorry I hadn't been before. Nicer looking inside than you would expect from outside too and with Greek owners the menu is extensive, classic American, with extras like souvlaki and gyros. All is really good and the service is friendly. The chicken fingers are excellent. I've taken other good people here since - everyone has been impressed and pleased with their check at the end. Two thumbs up and five stars from me.

Expected a little better. The atmosphere is pleasant enough, a friendly dive bar vibe. Much of the clientele the night we tried it was elderly. The service was friendly and attentive. The beer list was anemic. Found one or two passable brews but was actually surprised how thin it was. I had a perfectly passable burger, not bad but nothing to write home about. The onion straws were fun, and the fries were decent. my husband had the ribs and chicken combo. He was impressed with the bbq sauce but the meat was clearly reheated. For the price, neither of us were impressed.

Very good ribs. Tender. Would not have minded more sauce and was tempted to ask for more., but there was enough to make a mess! Ok prices maybe a bit high of mid. I paid $25 pre tip for half rack and a tall brew. Very friendly staffl

We've been here twice and enjoyed our meals both times. The portions are very generous and it appears most of the food is made in-house. Good clam chowder (in a huge bowl!), French dip was good, and their lasagna is really tasty. I can't wait to try their olive burger next time. Smothered in green olives and a wonderful olive mayo on the side. Best thing? Nothing so far has been overly salty, which can't be said for a lot or restaurants.

My family and I went to Heroes for the first time today. We had heard that everything there is good and I must say it lived up to the hype. We were immediately greeted with warm and friendly service and when we informed them it was our first time there they spent time reviewing the menu with us. It was clean, current, and the food and service were great. We will certainly be back. They made the experience so personal and really made you feel how much they value their customers and the business. Well worth the money.

Went here again over the weekend and the excellent experience is always the same. They were much busier than normal, so the service wasn't as good - but still better than most other places in the area. While waiting for the meal, we enjoyed the free bread. It is very addicting! The food came out hot and as ordered. Couldn't ask for more!

Nice local place. Food is good and waitstaff is very friendly. Sometimes it can get crowded as often there are multiple large groups. Owner is always there and available.

One of our regular places to dine.: First, I will tell you what I like about Heroes. For starters they have the best Bloody Mary in SE Michigan. I recommend the larger version, but only one. The Delmonico steak is cooked to perfection every single time, and so deliciously flavored and burgers are worth a try. The ribs are decent too. Fish entrees are also winners here. Skip the baked potato and order the fries because they are golden brown potato sticks of goodness. Try the $10 mac 'n' cheese and let me know how it tastes--I'll take the box variety any day. Service here is consistently good and well paced. Potentially, the drawbacks are parking, although adequate, is sometimes a nightmare during the busy times of the night. OK, I know it's me, but I can't stand places that give you the mini loaf of bread. Again, it's me. The place is almost always busy, so it's also louder than most places you'll eat. The place has big screens as if it's a sports bar. But it's not a sports bar. Say high to L. Brooks Patterson when you're in there. He's a regular.

Solid restaurant and a regular spot for my family for years. I can't believe there aren't more reviews! Super nice staff and a great menu. The plank white fish is nice, as is the ground sirloin and all the pasta dishes. Most entrees get a starter salad, and the garlic bread that comes free is AMAZING. You'll stuff yourself on the bread alone. I really highly recommend it if you're looking for a new place to try. It's a little gem!

Rib & Chicken combo was very over priced. With tax comes out to almost $17! At that price it's either awesome and worth it or not. You only get 4 bones of pork based ribs (small) and 2 pieces of chicken (broiled) with bbq sauce on it. It also included some fries, tossed salad, and garlic bread. Fries were like the frozen ones you buy and were limpy. I didn't bother eating the tossed salad since it had the middle pieces from the iceberg lettuce head. The garlic bread was great tho. I'm in constant search of a decent bbq place, but my experience was just ok. I did like the bbq sauce. If the price was lower, it would be more practical in my opinion...

Me and a few coworkers were in Pontiac for business and decided to go here for dinner based on the good reviews we saw on the web. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. Our waitress was very unenthusiastic and not welcoming in the least. She tossed down our drink napkins, spoke in a monotone-bored voice, never looked us in the eye, and was very inattentive to our table. Secondly, the food was not worth the money. I had the Shrimp and Rib combo, and was very disappointed that a Bar-B Q restaurant would serve such bland food. The shrimp was most likely frozen, not fresh, and it was dried out and tough. The ribs were okay, but laced any kick or exciting BBQ flavor. Perhaps the problem was the tasteless Bar B Q sause, I expected so much more from a restaurant with Bar B Q in the name. On the side I had cole slaw, and like the rest of my meal, was bland and boring. Dont let other reviews fool you, this place is bland and not worth your money.

This restaurant is terribly over priced. The bar-b q is average at best. The ribs are average and they don't have much meat. Oh, and here's my biggest problem - the last 3 times I ate there, my dinner salad had brown, wilted lettuce. I asked the waitress why the salad looked old and she told me they make them well in advance. Yeah, like a week in advance.

Heard about this place from friends and decided to give it a whirl. Had the cheese sticks for an appetizer: they were fresh (didn't seem frozen) and the marina was delicious. My husband and I each had a burger and fries (burgers were made fresh, not frozen patties), with fresh toppings and the fries were thick cut. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders kid's meal: the waitress informed us that they cut and battered their own chicken...they were great! I highly recommend this restaurant...nice atmosphere too.

Popular spot, nice people. I love their pecan chicken! Although they aren't on the menu, they make great deep-fried pickles! I often order their peel-and-eat shrimp, too.
