One word ---- OUTSTANDING We had the lemon and ricotta pancakes and the chocolate chip pancakes. Both very good. The lemon ricotta cake is served with house made lemon curd (a guilty pleasure). Peggy the woman working the dining room is soooo nice. She is perfectly attentive and very friendly. Wish the world had more people like her. We will be coming back.

The breakfast here is great. We arrived at 9;30 am the place was empty, left at 10:30, it was full. I had the ricotta lemon pancakes, my husband had the eggs Benedict . Pancakes had homemade lemon curd that is spot on to what I make and the Benedict's Hollandaise was rich, creamy and just as it was supposed to be. It's a little hidden hole in the wall gem. Great for a home made breakfast and service was out of this world friendly. When I listened to the server describe the food after I asked a question, her spot on descriptive words put a smile on my face. And of course she was happy we visited and spent our time there! It might not be worth all the hype for some but for a homemade breakfast, close to home we will be back. It sure beats waiting 1.5 hours at some of the popular hipster places in RO or Ferndale.

Tiny parking lot, tiny restaurant, excellent food! Very quaint with an "at-home" feel. Service is very friendly. Boursin cheese omelette is my *JAM* and I'm not even an omelette guy! Hazelnut coffee would be connoisseur-approved. This place is a regular in my brunch rotation.

Took my son here as a treat a while back. It is everything the reviews say it is. Talk about service with a smile. A place like this takes you to another place - because there aren't really too many places around like it. My omelet (Keilbasa) was delicious but most importantly I just couldn't get over how invited we felt there by our server who kept telling us how happy she was to share our day with us. Yes, she may be a bit over the top, but I find that a big part of the charm of this place. I do plan to come back when I have time in the mornings again.

Best eggs Benedict I think I've had in Michigan. The chocolate berry french toast is also really good! Peggy is such a sweetheart but I can see why people think she's a bit much but I love seeing her every time I go lol !!!!! Only open thurs-Sunday !!!!! Prices are way cheaper than the breakfast club and quality of food is better in my opinion. I recommend this place! Super yummy little breakky spot :)

We came here based on the plethora of other positive reviews, and we weren't disappointed. I was surprised by how quickly this place filled to the brim with customers. We got there early so we didn't have a wait, but it seemed that everyone and their brother came about 15 minutes after we sat down. The staff was very friendly and informative.... so informative in fact that it sounded like they were reading off of a teleprompter, but in a strange and awkward way it was endearing. The food came out fairly quickly, and we were really satisfied with the service. I got the florentine 3 egg omelette (spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and swiss) that came with a side of potatoes and bread. I got the pumpernickel, which was thick and delicious, the potatoes had a nice flavor and texture, and I appreciated the green peppers, but I would have preferred the potatoes to be a bit more browned than they were. The omelette was good, but the cheese would be better if they folded it in or something as it didn't melt very well on the top. My man got an order of the potatoes and a side of bacon. He enjoyed the potatoes, but also yearned for more crisp and brown to them, but the bacon was amazing. It was very thick cut and done up crispy, as requested. Overall I liked this place, and I'll go back, but I feel like the prices are too high to have this be on our regular rotation.

My husband took me here for Valentine's day and it was nice. I loved the quotes on the table.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but this is exactly the kind of place whose praises deserve to be shouted from the rooftops. Not only is the food consistently delicious, the service makes you feel more at home than when you're actually home. Come here, get anything; you'll love it and leave feeling better about your entire life when you do. It's just that good.

This little joint is worth the wait (if you don't show up early enough). A coworker and I went here for lunch. I was pretty skeptical at first due to the size of the place from the outside. We gave it a shot based on the many great reviews I have read. Let's get it started: I ordered the chocolate berry stuffed french toast. This was the best french toast I have ever tasted...probably because I've never thought to put chocolate on my french toast. The french toast was stuffed with mixed berries and a chocolate/cream cheese mix. Absolutely delightful. It was then topped with berries and home made whipped cream then drizzled with chocolate. It was so good my taste buds' taste buds wanted more. My belly was filled to the brim with this meal. The atmosphere reminded me of my grandma's house (minus the dentures on the bathroom sink). It was cozy with an outdated decor. There were a few tables to sit at which were close together. I'd imagine if the restaurant was filled to capacity it would be hard to pull your chair out enough to loosen your belt after eating such a fantastic meal. The waitress, Peggy, was very polite and mild mannered. She walked me through the menu and knew pretty much anything about the menu that a new customer would need to know. She really made us feel like we were home. The only down side was the wait to check out. When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty empty. When we finished our meal, the restaurant filled up. This seemed to be a bit of a strain on our wonderful hostess' abilities. We weren't in a rush to get back to work though, so it wasn't a huge deal. I'd recommend you stop at the ATM and snag some green backs first. Try to pay with exact change so your can run outta there when the masses come for foods. Come to this tiny tavern of tantalizing tastes. I enjoyed my experience. The food is amazing!

Despite their limited hours, this is a great little place with quality food. This place is always packed, but the service is always excellent and the food is delicious. I'm partial to the sweet breakfast offerings. Pros: great food, reasonable prices, personal, friendly service. Cons: limited hours, small place. Tips: try the chocolate berry French toast and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Yum!

The Chocolate Chip Factoey is nothing fancy yo look upon. In fact...if not for my GPS I would have missed it entirely! But the ladies inside and the food...make ut all worthwhile! The lady taking my order. ..what a sweet lady! I wish all waitresses were as sweet as she was. Made you feel like you were doing her a huge service by coming here. I could talk to her all morning! I decided to try the hazelnut coffee. It has a nice taste to it. Not overpowering but a nice flavor to it. But the lemon ricotta oancakes ya'll.....to die for. I hate pancakes. But i will never haye this soft-fluffy pancake with homemade lemon curd. You need to try this. You will be a converyed pancake fan!!

A great experience. Without a doubt the most polite & informative server we have ever had. Coffee was great!

The Chocolate Gallery Cafe is just the place for breakfast or lunch. Unfortunately their hours don't go much past lunch, but if you're in the area before 2, check it out. Additional parking is in the back. The decor is nothing to write home about. A bit quaint with a plethora of fake flowers and the tables are pretty close to each other to accommodate more people, but I'm don't go for the design. The food is always a homerun. You may have to wait a few minutes to be seated, especially on the weekend, but it's well worth it if you're not in a hurry. Once you're seated, the wait for food is usually fairly quick for what you're getting. Their menu is breakfast, breakfast, breakfast. And who doesn't want breakfast for lunch sometimes? The specials are up on the board and are normally what I get. I've had chorizo omelettes, artichoke omelettes, Dinty Moore omelettes, you name it, it may be a special one day. Their crepes are awesome too. They use the utmost ingredients and execute everything very well. Seriously, it's one of the best breakfasts you'll ever have. I'm not a coffee person, but I hear their hazelnut coffee is pretty good too! Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

  • Ashley H.

Wowza, this place is tops! The ladies serving breakfast are so incredibly friendly. We felt so welcomed and they seemed genuinely interested in making our breakfast experience one of the best. The hazelnut coffee was delicious. My husband and I split a sweet item and a savory item. We had french toast with actual thick french bread filled with chocolate cream cheese topped with fresh berries and dark chocolate drizzle. Yum! And the eggs caliente with hungarian peppers, ham, and cheese. My nose was running a little, but man was it delicious! I can't recommend this place enough. It is a small space, and the name or the facade may throw you off, but this is a must-try!

Eggs Benedict and Irish omelette were great. Waitress was extremely nice. Will definitely come here again when we are out this way!!!

I had the pleasure of visiting this quaint café with my coworkers yesterday morning. Right away we were greeted by a very friendly server and another woman, (as I was told later) the owner's wife. From the outside, it looks extremely small. Once you enter, it is small however you feel a warmth that is emitted only by going home or a place that you love. The menu isn't extensive, but with their ongoing specials it doesn't need to be. Just from the pictures on Yelp, I knew right away I had to try the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Eggs Caliente. I was not disappointed. The Eggs Caliente was basically a scramble of eggs, ham, and onions with American fries on the side mixed with onions and bell peppers and topped with a crispy cheese wafer. The real star however was the Lemon Ricotta pancake. The lemon curd drizzle on top was the perfect equivalent to any grandmother's lemon bar or lemon curd recipe, maybe even better. It made the warm, fluffy pancakes heavenly. We were checked on quite frequently by our server and she was so nice that it made me uncomfortable. Not uncomfortable in a bad way but it made me wish I was a nicer person like she was! If only this café was open 7 days a week..*sigh. I guess I'll have to settle for after work breakfast dates with my co-workers.

Outstanding brunch! My boyfriend and I have been looking forward to trying the regular menu after having fallen in love with their Buckingham Torte. We were not disappointed! The service was outstanding. Both the specials and regular menu were mouth watering so we ordered veggie eggs Benedict, salmon quiche, and a monte cristo. The veggie eggs Benedict was one of the best I have ever had. The egg was cooked perfectly and served with home style potatoes. The same quiche was made with Gruyere made in-house. The Monte cristo is made on beautiful French toast. They serve hazelnut or regular coffee and beautiful fruit on the side.

Such a lovely little place for breakfast! Our waitress was the nicest person I have ever met. It was my first time here and I absolutely loved it. I had the chocolate mixed berries stuffed french toast and was in love. It is not a very big place so it won't be good for a large group of people but they do have takeout so that's another option. Definitely on the top of my list for breakfast, and I am a picky person when it comes to breakfast.

  • Megan S.

Our waitress Peggy made you feel welcome and at home! The service was FANTASTIC!!! The food was amazing! Delicious, home cooked food, you could really taste the love! We tried the strawberry stuffed French toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and the eggs caliente! All of them met our expectations and then some! The pancakes and French toast weren't overly sweet, they were just right! :)

Went here with my girlfriend on a Sunday. Their standard menu seems a little limited but they have a board of specials. I ended up getting a kielbasa and sausage omelette which was awesome. My girlfriend got apple and pecan French toast which was equally satisfying. You can tell all the food is home made here. The wait staff was very nice and very knowledgable. Completely recommend this place!

  • Michele A.

Good food taste like what mom would make for breakfast. I had the lemon pancakes they were good a bit sweet and 8$ for them with no sides was a bit expensive. My husband got an omelet it was good but tasted like something that I could make at home. Service was slow because there are only 2 people working there and only one of them takes orders and brings the food out.

    (3)
  • Natalie M.

This place doesn't warrant its current 4.5 star-rating. The food is middle of the road--fine if you live nearby but not worth a drive to "try something new."

  • Tonya T.

I have found a new favorite breakfast spot. The lemon ricotta pancakes are the most heavenly things I've eaten in a long time. The ladies are terrific and Ms. Peggy is simply 'da bomb! She should write a book on what good customer service is. Watching the service is even fairly entertaining. This place is so small and quaint but I'm sure that has a lot to do with the quality of their product. I will be coming back for sure and bringing people with me.

  • Aj K.

This place is amazing. Super polite staff and the chocolate raspberry pancake is to die for. Omelette was good too. Only thing is it's a small place so it gets pretty tight in there. Still not enough to lose a star tho!

  • Tim S.

service: phrase "faith in humanity" comes to mind because of how friendly and helpful the staff is decor: cozy like "moms house" wait for food: a little on the longer side, makes sense with how much detail they take into each order food: excellent...they use real french baguettes for the french toast, different bread cuts for different dishes. pancakes i order were from the special...super fluffy and topped with a lemon sauce that negates the need for maple syrup. i wish i tried their dessert...

  • Erin B.

This place is like going to your mom's house for breakfast, if your mom is a gourmet breakfast chef. I got the Eggs Benedict, which were wonderful. The rest of our table ordered the Chocolate and Berry Stuffed French Toast, the Kielbasa Omelette and the Western Omelette, all of which were just as delicious. It doesn't look like you could make a wrong choice on this menu, and I'm looking forward to verifying that in the weekends to come!

Wow, went there for the first time and can't wait to go back. Roman had the western omelet and it was so good. Loved the potatoes and fresh veggies. Kids had their french toast and chocolate chip pancakes. Service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back and try other things.

Absolutely amazing place to eat. The service is top notch, the food is fresh, large portions. Everything is just great. You can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch here. I've ordered both at the same time, no shame. You have to try this place out at least once.

  • Cari M.

This place is VERY delicious, but to add the absolute most genuine, friendly service on top? It makes The Gallery Cafe heavenly. It is close quarters in this humble joint, so if the employees had a 'tude- the whole place would know it, fast! Instead, the sweetness radiates from wall to wall and it felt like I was at a big Christmas breakfast with my whole family instead of the middle of summer with strangers. They were very accommodating and doting on my infant son. The specials are fantastic. EVERYTHING sounded good so we ordered some to take home. Please don't judge because if you go there you might do THE SAME THING, trust me! Fella got the chilli omelette and was a big fan. The chocolate berry french toast- you can't skip it, you just can't. Sweet and savory dishes here were equally perfect. I should've known I would love this place based on having the word CHOCOLATE in the name but it really surpassed expectation!

  • Bill S.

What a beautiful surprise. A very friendly and welcoming staff when entering the small hidden establishment. The menu was small with a large selection of daily specials up on the board . The kielbasa omelette with fried potatoes was a delicious change. There is much more to try on the next visit. Give them a try.

We loved the atmosphere in this place! it's so cute and small and transports you to a small town in the middle of a sprawling city. we read the reviews about the flambount owner and were curiously drawn to it, not to mention it's great reviews for a breakfast place. we've read reviews about outrageous owners before but our encounters are usually fairly mediocore. this place did not fail to impress. my boyfriend has a bee tattooed on his arm and as soon as she made it to our table to ask how we were she said: "Oh, I like your body art!" we still quote it to each other. i'm more of an egg person in the morning and the eggs were not really anything special. they were okay, but just run of the mill standard diner omlette eggs. the sweets are the thing to go for here. my boyfriend got chocolate strawberry french toast, which was great, and we got a dessert to go which was also exceptionally awesome! this place closes early, but the service is fun and the sweets are wonderful!

    (4)
  • Mario D.

The service here is top notch. This is the kind of place you can go to and no matter what kind of mood you were in, you'll walk out feeling great with a smile on your face. The food here is great. They always have excellent specials. Very cozy restaurant that you need to go to!

Happy is the word that comes to mind. Peggy the waitress is awesome. With all her kind adjectives and positive attitude. We love her. She treats my mom with kindness and patience. Wish they were open all week.

We went here for breakfast on a Saturday. They weren't busy. The waitresses were very friendly although the one that took our order kept forgetting what she was doing. It was a long wait to take our order, then a long wait to be served. My daughter had the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were good. I had the banana walnut pancakes expecting some amazing food. Mine were very doughy it was gross trying to eat basically raw pancake batter throughout much of mine. I was pretty disappointed that they didn't live up to the rave reviews.

  • Dede S.

Absolutely beautifully prepared dishes! Staff is very friendly , knowledgeable, and accommodating. Lemon ricotta pancakes are to die for!! Great little place, although a little tight, the ambiance reminds me of a small cafe somewhere in Europe . Can't wait go back again.

Enjoyed a catered dinner by Cathy and Chuck and was such a treat! The salad was extraordinary, fresh and light. And the main course was scrumptious steak with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Almost did not have too for dessert but found my way around a piece of Buckingham cake - just heavenly!

  • Shannon B.

Amazing service and even better food. Lemon Ricotta pancakes are amazing. I recommend this place to everyone in the area! Oh and the hashbrowns are fresh and seasoned perfectly. You'll love it too!

    (5)
  • Melissa C.

Truly scrumptious!!! I had the Boursin cheese, artichoke, mushroom and spinach omelette! My husband had the smoked salmon Benedict, my daughter had the French toast and my friend had the Berry stuffed French toast. All were amazing and delicious! This little restaurant is one of a kind! It's small so expect a little wait. The staff is delightfully friendly! I'm a little worried to post this review as this might make it harder to get a seat. The only downfall I see is the lack of days they're open.

Quaint, Delicious, and wonderful service. I cannot complain about this place. There food is delicious, and there service is impeccable. Totally love the eggs benedict and pancakes. Truthfully, everything is super fresh.

  • k a.

The food is delicious, high quality, craveable, made-from-scratch awesome. The regular menu is accompanied by a giant board of specials, so you can always order your favs or try something new. It's all good. I always start or end with the mushroom soup, it's too great to pass up. The monte cristo sandwich is another favorite. The benedicts are perfectly done with excellent hollandaise. My husband gets an omelette every time, but someone next to us had corned beef hash, and it looked fantastic so he's switching it up next visit. The waitress is so nice that you can't help smiling when you walk out the door. It's just a great place to get your day started. Thursday-Sunday only, 8-2, and it's less busy until 9 or after 1.

Metro Detroit has so many great brunch places to try but this one should be at the top of your list. Tiny place but full of love. Cheesy I know. Speaking of cheese. If you love omelettes have the boursin cheese omelette. And dont get me started on all the different French toasts! Go with friend and split everything.

I have fell in love with this cozy little café!!! The service was excellent and the food excellent. I recommend the Monte cristo!!!!!!

  • Bridgette Z.

The specials are what makes this place so great. They have a lot of variety. I would say they specialize more in dessert type breakfasts (pancakes and french toast) rather than eggs. Don't get me wrong my eggs were great! But the pumpkin pancakes we had were not normal. The best pancakes ive ever had!! Also loved the hazelnut coffee and the lovely Peggy who is the only server and although she speaks in a robotic manner she's an absolute joy. I love her. Great place but theres only 10 tables so you might wait a bit. Worth it. I loved it and will be back!

Oh my gouda! I cant even. This place is amazing. The Boursin cheese omelette is to die for (seriously) and the apple pecan french toast is fantastic too!

Prepare for the twilight zone. This place is amazing with the friendliest staff and jammed packed with great specials. The cafe is very very very old fashioned, but you will not be disappointed! Can't wait to go back.

  • Kimberly H.

I firmly believe the service alone would be worth the trip here. IF the food was average you would still walk out of there pleased and in a good mood. But the food isn't remotely average. It is incredible. Eggs Benedict was delicious, kielbasa omelette was amazing, and the potatoes with onions and peppers were the perfect accompaniment. By the end of the meal if you don't have the urge to go back in the kitchen and shake each employees hand then I would be shocked. Worth it. And inexpensive!

Happy 100th review to me !!! Thanks for sticking with me, fellow Yelpers, along my quest to be the foulest/funniest that I can be!!! All the while, helping YOU (and me) find places to love and to never see again! I have been waiting patiently to come across a place worthy of this Centennial of reviewness, and I'm sure this is the place!! I'm only sorry that Diva Queen didn't get to break this place in with me... (sorry LIz!) My story of this place begins about 5 years ago, driving my daughter to school. For 2 years, I never noticed this place whatsoever. For a year or so, I noticed it, but the name threw me off as a chocoltier or candy shoppe. Not my bag, so didn't give it a second thought. One day, about 2 years ago, my daughter pointed at this place and said "My Dad went there and he said the breakfast wasn't very good." My first thought was "Your dad thinks Ragu in a can is proper spaghetti sauce!" Followed right up by, "Wait!!! They have breakfast?" So, for the last 2 years I have known this place is a restaurant. Getting to it is another thing altogether... My daughter's school and where I live are NOT anywhere near each other, and generally i'm driving her to school and then straight to work. This is the tricky part. They are open Thursday - Sunday from 8am to 2pm ONLY. You see how this may put a bind on things. I was up bright and early Saturday morning and decided to take full advantage of the snow outside. Keeps alot of scaredy-cat drivers at home! Kitschy? Yeah, the place is kitschy as all getout, plastic table covers, pics of food on the walls (um, their food, hello!!) and one lady named Peggy who REALLY fucking loves her job!! She is suuuuuper sweet and nice, but I would never say fake. I would say... blessed. I thought she was great! I was so tempted by the berry chocolate french toast, and the strawberry stuffed french toast, and the lemon ricotta pancakes!! But I had to go with my egg lovin gut. Eggs Benny. It's burned me before, but it's my favorite! Hubby ordered plain ole boring breakfast ... Dang it Diva Queen! The eggs benny was DIVINE!!! Finally an awesome hollandaise! Comes with fried potatoes with onions that were a lil' too done for my liking but the rest was awesome! Hubby ate all his ...oooh, need to note : White, wheat, rye, marble rye, and pumpernickel were their toast choices!! Fun! I got the distinct pleasure of seeing the strawberry french toast, and the lemon ricotta pancakes (homemade fucking CURD ya'll!!) and I was still dying AFTER I ate my plate clean!! Even the orange garnish! LOL They have many homemade desserts too, and I can't wait to go back and try! Thankfully, they do love plastic as much as paper so that is a saving grace to lots of us!! Total for both of us with coffee and a can of Coke $19.77.. Go, go, go, PLEASE go!!! Just remember you can only go on Thurs-Sun 8am-2pm. Seriously. /Awesome!!!

Chocolate Gallery is the best kept secret of Warren. Hard to find, little parking, small, and a name that will make you drive by without realizing what your missing. Very fresh and creative breakfast items, although don't expect to find them on the menu, the main menu only has your usual breakfast, the specials are what makes this place. Hearing the waitress recite the specials can be a bit corny, but its part of the experience. Oh last thing, it is not the cheapest breakfast, a side of bacon is something like 2.99 for a few pieces, but then again I don't go for the bacon.

  • James R.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. The only downside is the small dining area. There may be a wait for your breakfast... For a reason... Can't recommend highly enough.

  • Gus M.

Where do I start... The service was great, my friend complained that the service was too good. I do have to admit our waitress was a little over the top, she seemed like she drank 4 red bulls in one hour lol. Anyway it's a very small resturaunt that packs a big punch when it comes to flavor. I ordered the stuffed French toast and the two egg special. The French toast was great, I only wish they used fresh Strawberry's instead of the syrup kind but it was still tasty. My eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was awesome, thick cut and crispy. The ham was great too. Unfortunately the toast was rock hard not edible at all. It's not worth the drive, but if your in the area it's a place I would visit frequent. :)

This place is very, very good. However, the waitress totally freaked me out. She was like a weird waitress-bot and she gave me the willies. She rattled off the specials and when she walked away, I saw people with other dishes that weren't on the menu, nor did she name them. When we asked what they were she was like "Oh! We also have that!" Well then...why don't you either put it on the special board or write it on the menu?? Service was VERY slow. After breakfast we wanted dessert, so she named off the desserts that they had (1/2 of what they had listed on the Desserts board) and then left us to "think about it" for literally 25 minutes. By the time she came back we were too full and too annoyed to want anything else. But, if you can get past that, the food is GOOD. I had the banana nut pancakes and they were amazing. Minus one more star for just having regular old Aunt Jemima's syrup. Either get real stuff or at least heat the AJ up! I was really disappointed about my experience there but honestly the food is legit.

I have only been here once, but I need to go back. It is a nice gem in Warren. The café is small, and the name is misleading, but the food is great. The menu is on the smaller side, but I had a Polish omelet which was on the long list of daily specials and it was great. What also makes this place nice is the staff seems genuinely happy to be working there and happy to see you.

I just love this place. The woman running the floor is always charming, genuine and efficient. The food is delicious. The decor is pretty hokey, but honestly, it adds to the charm for me. The frequently get the lemon ricotta pancakes and they are delicious - not to sweet, with great flavor. I have also enjoyed the veggie Benedict. Have not tried the desserts because I always end up going with a breakfast choice, and would not have room for dessert, anyway! They always look great, though.

My husband and I went there for the first time this morning. We shared the strawberry stuffed french toast and a side of bacon. Both were delicious and the waitress was very bubbly and service was good ! I think maybe Kelly K must have had a hangover when she was there.

It's a small quant place with a dated feel, but it actually works. The food was pretty good and they had some unique breakfast specials. The lady who waits on you, whom I believe is also the owner is truly a character. While she is super nice, I can see how she could annoy some people. Think of Glenn Close from the Stepford Wives and jack that up to ten. Before you can even order she insists on reading out to you every special on the board and go in to great length explaining the flavors and ingredients even if you already know what you want. After everything you order she replies with either "Ohhhhh! Great choice!" or a high pitched "Thank you!" which to some would seem fake, but I think she is actually being genuine about it. And a "For you!" in the same high pitched voice is accompanied by everything she sets on the table when your order is ready. And I mean everything. She sets down your toast, "For you!". Here comes your entree, "For you!". How about some syrup? "For you!" It can be a bit much. Overall it was good. Not the greatest, but good. It is a little bit of a drive for us so it is not a place I would go out of my way to go to for breakfast. If I am in the area and it is that time of the day I may stop in and see what they are offering.

This cafe is a true gem that is hidden along Chicago Rd. and unless you are aware of it you would not know it exist. My mother lived on Chicago Rd. and I must have driven past it at least 1000 times over 15 years. It wasn't until I found it on Yelp that I gave it a try. On the first visit my son and I went and we were delighted with the way Peggy presented us with the menu choices. So many to choose from. I settled on the Dinte Moore and my son got the Chicken Caesar Salad. Both were very tasty and unique. The family and I now go about once a week. We have ordered the Apple Pecan French toast, Eggs Benedict, Mexican Omelet, the homemade Corned Beef Hash and numerous Chicken Caesar Salads. Each menu item is carefully prepared and taste much better than most restaurants fare. The corned beef hash is made with hand cut chunks of corned beef and potatoes that are perfectly seasoned. Most places serve it from a can. I feel like we are going back in time when we visit this place. Nothing high tech or hurried about this place. Please enjoy!

Breakfast was delish. My friend and I shared the Boursin mushroom omelette and the apple pecan french toast. Can't wait to try the lemon ricotta pancakes next time!

My husband and I came for lunch and had a great, and tasty, experience! Not so crowded, service with heart, and flavorful food. We'll be back!

We've been on the search for all the possible fantastic breakfasts near us- and somehow this one had slipped under the radar. Now, I have to say that the outside of this place and the decor on the inside had me worried - the vinyl covered tablecloths and what-not screamed grandma special, and I'm not sure I trust their taste in breakfast. The normal menu isn't too exciting when it comes to breakfast - but have no fear!, that is why you must peruse the specials board. My husband ordered the chocolate stuffed and mixed berry covered french toast and I had the lemon ricotta pancakes - there were also strawberry stuffed french toast, a kielbasa omelette and other interesting options. Both of our dishes were yumtastic. The french toast was indulgence to the highest extreme... my pancakes were more subtle, but still delicious. The side of bacon here was the swanky thick cut deliciousness that I had expected at our trip to Beverly Hills Grill. Service was top notch. The waitress was unbelievably friendly and went out of her way to keep our little toddler happy. At first I thought she was being over-the-top just for our sake... but I quickly realized she really is just that happy and accomodating. They aren't open very many days or for very many hours- but I suggest you stop in. I want to return sometime soon to check out their amazing dessert list!

The Chocolate Gallery Cafe is a small breakfast place in a tiny, unassuming strip mall... talk about a hidden treasure! They have a regular breakfast and lunch menu, but the specials are, well, special! I decided to try the Eggs Caliente (how could you not love that name) - eggs scrambled with ham and Hungarian peppers, topped off with a piece of crispy cheddar. I loved this dish. The scramble was filling but not overwhelmingly so, and the peppers added a bit of heat. The crispy cheddar was cheddar cheese that had been broiled and was oh so delicious. I wish I could have had a whole stack of crispy cheddar pieces. The dish also came with breakfast potatoes and buttered toast. I really wanted to get dessert, as everything is made in-house, but I was too full, so I got a peanut butter chocolate bar for the road. Very tasty. The server is a reallllly nice lady who goes over all of the specials on the board. I look forward to going back to try more of the specials and, of course, more desserts!

It seems like it's harder and harder to find a really great omelet, especially one that tastes like real eggs were cracked in the making of the omelet. This restaurant always delivers a really delicious omelet and their special portabella, spinach omelet always makes my taste buds happy. Big slices of fresh portabellas, lots of fresh spinach and not too much Swiss cheese are added to this omelet, served with fried potatoes like my grandpa used to make and some marble rye The restaurant is small and a little kitschy and when it's packed (less than 12 tables) it can be a little tight but all the other diners I've been near are nice and make allowances for tables to get in and out. My thinking is because we all know what a great find this restaurant is and how you really won't find a nicer server then the waitress at this restaurant we're a little more generous. Other breakfast places in the area love the fact that they have a line out the door and almost enjoy making people wait. These owners could definitely move to a fancy new location and be just as busy but they choose to stay in the same place and keep their businees open enough to keep themselves happy, provide great food and service and I appreciate their efforts every time I have breakfast here.

This place looks and taste like grandma opened a restaurant in her living room. Service was amazingly friendly, kitchen was a little slow at first but picked towards the end. We ordered Baked Apple French Toast, it was like apple pie, French toast, and bread pudding all in one. Didn't even need syrup, so GOOD. Boyfriend got the Eggs Benedict, he said it was a tiny bit bland but it was the best poached egg he has had since we moved here. They actually cooked the home fries well down like we asked and they had peppers and onions in them. Yum. A little $$ but worth it, like $9 a plate. Good portions and good food. Ham looked the best out of the sausage/bacon/ham combo. Open four days a week till two. Wouldn't recommend going if you have a large group. Only 11 tables. Definitely recommend going!

I've lived less than 2 miles from this place for years and I never knew it was here until just a few weeks ago. Great little gem! I saw great reviews here on Yelp and thought I'd try it out. My mom and I loved our breakfast and the amazing service! The building doesn't look like much from the inside and outside, and the inside has very outdated décor but please do not let that fool you. Food is fresh and delicious here. The regular menu has your typical breakfast options, but the SPECIALS are where it's at. I had an omelet that was on special. Kielbasa omelet with green and red peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese. Came with seasoned redskin potatoes and they offered so many types of toast. I had marbled rye. Fresh hazelnut coffee topped it off. They are only open Thurs-Sun which I didn't understand, but if you're in the area check this place out. Food is delish!

we got the french toast and it was pretty good. it took a while for the food to come out, but the lady that works there was such a sweet lady that really knew their menu well.

Wow-this place packs in so much homemade, delicious food into a tiny space. I have been there twice in a week-and can't believe how charming the owner/server is. She just bubbles over with personality and kindness. The lemon ricotta pancakes are so delicious and light-I'm still thinking about them. The second visit, I had scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, bacon and marbled rye toast. Your order may take a bit more time to arrive, but know that the wait is more than worthwhile. Please drive past any of your old standby breakfast/lunch places (Thursday-Sunday only) and go straight to The Chocolate Gallery Cafe. This place does have quirky decor (Christmas lights and faux chocolate bunnies to name a couple) and you might drive straight past it, because it's such an unassuming little place. Don't let the facade fool you. This is food made with love and served with charm and genuine kindness. Definitely a place you need to experience soon!

After hearing good things about this place, I figured I would give it a try. It truly is a hidden Gem. All the reviews I read, were right on. The waitress was the most pleasant lady I have ever met. They made you feel like a part of the family. I was hopping to try the strawberry stuffed French toast, but that was not on the board for the day. So I choose the berry crepes. They were wonderful. My son had the apple walnut French toast. Again... Wonderful. It is a small place, but very cozy. As we sat there, I was watching the other plates come out. Everything looked amazing. I can't wait to go back and try the Eggs Benidict :)

I'm not quite sure if the woman who was helping us is an owner or just a server for the establishment but holy crap she was the most bubbly/direct/friendly server I've ever had in my entire life. When explaining what she reminded me of to my friends, I had to tell them she is basically a friendlier version of the "wife" played by Chris Farley in the old skit where he and Adam Sandler discuss Zagat restaurant reviews. You have to see it to believe/understand it. Their hardcopy menu seems relatively small and simple. Normal breakfast staples can be found on each page. Their "specials" menu is what I recommend checking out. The chocolate stuffed french toast covered with berries looked incredible. I didn't even want to try it because I didn't want to destroy the wonderful display. I ended up having a ham and pineapple omelet with cheddar cheese. I don't know what I was expecting but it ended up being...a ham and cheese omelet with a few pineapple pieces in it. It was good. Just not very exciting. The kielbasa omelet I tried, however, was great. If they advertised and actually had normal hours for people with real schedules it would be a true diamond in the rough.

aww i like this place. the people who work there are soo very sweet and accommodating! The Strawberry stuffed french toast was sooooooo good! The portion size was huge but how do you take french toast to go it just gets soggy. So I ate till I was at max capacity! ahahaa! I have had so many other things here always whatever is on special! The only reason i did not give it 5 stars was the seating oh lordie its close quarters in there! If you go with more than one person plan on eating with everyone else in the place. Usually I don't mind a busy place but this is just crazy how teeny it is. Either way they so a smashing good job and I will continue to go back and gorge myself on their yummy food!!

The place is most definitely not as fancy as its name. All the furnishings are 1970s/80s old, the joint is small. But it serves darn good food by darn pleasant people, and that goes a long way these days!

Yelp you never cease to amaze me. Awesome food & close to home does it get any better? A hands up to the excellent service (who truly envelops service with a smile) & the tasty food. The prices were reasonable. Please note the hours & selective days open. Make the trip neither you nor your taste buds will be disappointed!

This place has possibly THE best service I've ever experienced in my life. Decor is eh, but can be easily overlooked between the service and food. We ordered the strawberry french toast, totally decadent and delicious and a basic egg, toast, bacon and hash brown breakfast, which was also tasty. Coffee was hot and decent. I would choose over other places, but I'm going to keep on my breakfast tour, but I'm sure I will visit again. It was really tasty! Very kid friendly as well!

I've only been here 2 times and the only problem I have is deciding what to order. My latest visit I tried the Pumpkin Pancakes and they were amazing! There's a reason why they are one of the nominees for "Best Breakfast In Metro Detroit" and you will understand why, once you go.

The food is really good but the waitresses are fabulous! The specials were told in such a way that each one sounded more delicious than the next. Got dessert to go, portions are very generous! Can't wait to go back. Had the corned beef hash, delicious.

We went here based of a reccomendation from a friend and we were pretty happy with the result. It is similar to the Breakfast Club in Madison Heights, I would consider this place it's little sister. Both the meals were pretty good and the service was very friendly. I had the chocolate berry french toast it was very tasty!

Wasnt sure what to expect from the small unassuming exterior, but once we went inside we were pleasantly surprised from the small, quaint dining room to the very nice helpful staff. The food was excellent! I got the eggs benedict and it was perfect, my hubby got the strawberry stuffed french toast and it was extravagant! Great gem with great food at reasonable prices!

I have to agree about the corn beef and hash and biscuits and gravy! This place is delish. I am never disappointed and it is close to my old neighborhood where I grew up so it is a perfect place to meet old friends. The desserts are all homemade and over the moon wonderful. This is a family owned restaurant and they take great pride in their place. I am so happy they are doing well! GREAT JOB!

A small, friendly place for some great food. The waitress was one of the friendliest people that has ever taken my order, and the food was so delicious, we went there two days in a row. The biscuits and gravy is one of the best I've had - not too salty, not too spicy, not too chunky, just right! Other people in my group had the strawberry stuffed french toast and corned beef hash, and they all enjoyed their meals. On the second day I had the banana croissaint french toast, which was just perfect! I had my son with me, and they had a real baby seat, complete with a tray. I would tell anyone who's in the area to go and check this place out. I saw that they also make desserts, but we were too stuffed to try any.
