Food is very mediocre! Customer service is ok

Quick and Delectable! After sitting through a tedious amount of traffic due to the construction on Evergreen Rd, I can safely say it was worth the wait. The food isn't the "cream of the crop" of Thai food, but it'll definitely leave you licking your teeth on your way back to work, school or on your way home. My favorite is the E2: Gang Ped. It's basically Pad Ped for you Thai food enthusiasts. If you don't mind the traffic, give it a try!

Good customer service! My Chicken Pad Thai however was nothing to me but noodles and a brown sauce with peanuts. What happened to the eggs that should be in it?

Good for a carry out, not so much for eating in. There's only a few tables that seat 2 people each. Also, the spice changes daily. One time you need to get medium plus, the next medium, the next hot. Good food for the price though, I always have left overs.

Worst. Pad. Thai. Ever. It had no spice (after I asked for medium) and it was burnt throughout. I only give thos place 2 stars because they are nice and they took my order 5 minutes before opening. Not much more redeeming.

Let me start by stating that the restaurant itself was a fairly neat little hole in the wall, with lovely shades of green. The service was pleasant enough. I ordered a spring roll and Pad Thai Curry. The spring roll was bland, tasted like various textures of plastic. I was unimpressed, but hopeful with the main dish. Boy, was I wrong. I asked for my dish to be moderately spicy, but bit into flames. The heat wouldn't have been so bad, but that's all I got. There was no flavor to this dish--where in the f*** was the MSG?? It was totally lacking real flavor, despite the heap of salt that I dumped on it. I finally gave up and tossed it out. Hey, there is a truth to stereotypes: a Thai person who can't cook Thai food is akin to black folks who can't dance. There are just some things that I should be able to count on.

I agree with the previous post food is mediocre. Anything express is just ok. The mom and pop thai restaurants are the best.

I got the Red Curry with Tofu to-go and I really enjoyed it. The curry had a good balance of sweet and spicy and the portion size was more then I could handle in one sitting. I will be back the next time I am in Southfield.

Thai Quest 2010 brought me to a new place. I ventured out to the mysterious Evergreen Road in Southfield, deep in the land of tall buildings, beige strip malls, and weird condos. On the way to Thai Xpress I passed the Southfield City Buildings, the Mary Thompson farm and some other interesting places. Thai Xpress is small. There are only about five, two seat high-tops in the place. This is definitely a carry-out place and probably does a lot of business at lunch. I tried the Curry Pad Thai. I don't know if it's an "authentic" dish but I like the curry and noodle combination. I ordered my food and the food was out in 5 minutes. When they say Xpress, they really mean it. The food was hot and fresh and very tasty. The dish had a nice yellow curry color. I ordered medium spicy and I think it was spiced perfectly. It was enough to feel the heat, but it didn't force you to consume a lot of water. The most interesting part of the menu is "create your own stir-fry". Here, you pick a protein, rice or noodles, a sauce and as many vegetables as you want. The proteins are the typical beef, chicken, pork or tofu. The vegetables options are a good selection of a lot of different vegetables. There are about 8 sauces to choose from and pretty much any kind of Thai sauce you could ask for. I was impressed by the speed and the flavor of the food. I just wish this place was a little more inviting to sit and eat a meal and not just get take-away.

One of my most favorite Thai places!! The staff is really nice. The only gripe is that it seems like they raise the prices every time I go.

I decided to try this place despite the mixed reviews because it is near my workplace. There were two ladies working at the front counter, one who talked a lot and another who said nothing at all. I innocently asked the one who spoke if she knew which sauces did not contain fish sauce. "How should I know?" she shot back. "I don't make the sauces." Not "I don't know, let me check" or even "I'm sorry, I don't know" but a flip, smart-aleck remark. Then, she turned away. I left immediately and do not intend to come back.

I never tasted Thai food like this!! They try to vary the food by means of color, we ordered three dishes and the dishes came in red, yellow and cream colored sauce variation. I requested the lady to switch ON the AC, she said it was ON. The room was fuming hot! They charge extra for hot sauce which's nothing but just crushed dry red chillies.!! Bad experience. Sorry! Not recommended.

I love their Pad See Ewe. They are very accommodating when adding or deleting items. The staff is friendly, the small restaurant is clean and the food is prepared quickly when ordered.

Dear Thai Xpress: I find myself unwilling to commit to an ongoing committed lunchtime relationship with you. And let me just start by saying, it's not you, it's me. I mean you're clean, your service is prompt, and OMG you are right next to where I work. And that's great...but...it's just that...I'm just not that into you. I'm really looking for some Thai food that's salty, spicy, sour, sweet, and bitter. But you're just salty and hot. Not that that's a bad thing! I mean I like salty and I most certainly like hot ... but I guess I just need more...depth. And this is NOT about the size of your portions either. They are adequate. So anyway, I'm sorry. I really wanted to be your regular. I just can't. I hope someday you find someone with no taste buds, who can love you the way you deserve. Best, Heather G. P.S. Out of respect for you, I just wanted to let you know in case you see me driving by, I've been visiting Sukho Thai to satisfy my needs. I hope you understand.

When they say "express," they mean in. This isn't a normal Thai restaurant, as the seating is very limited and is designed more like the front area of a pizza shop, than a fully-fledged restaurant. Thai Xpress caters to people that want a quick lunch with no fuss. Since it is placed in the heart of downtown Southfield, this location is frequented by office workers looking for something different. While I would never suggest to eat here for a true Thai experience, it does what it is supposed to do in a pinch...provide food fast. The quality of the food is decent. The prices range, but there is always a special going on. The meal containers are huge and all portions come with a lot of rice. The prices tend to be higher than average, but you do get a lot of food. Not the best value in town, but good for speed and necessity.

The food is great! We usually get it for carry out and head to the park just north of there since there is not much seating.

Been there twice now since it's right next to work. First time was great food but yesterday (12/20) food was sub par. Might go there one more time but that's about it if the food sucks. Both times I've tried the special for lunch which is about $9 and as mentioned before first time the food was great. Yesterday it sucked - it was some sort of coconut curry stir fry. Not worth it - the vegetables were old, chicken was stale, even the egg roll tasted stale. Oh well atleast I didn't get sick.

This is not an enjoyable eat in restaurant, but that's okay and they don't pretend to be that. Get your food to go. Went with a friend tonight and we were very cramped at the same table. All food is packaged 'to go' anyway. My chicken 'satay' was more like big chicken fingers and the peanut sauce with it was void of any flavor. My friend got scallops with veggies and rice noodles and ordered it spicy hot. It was hot, but I tasted sand in the scallops and the noodles were cooked to mush - ugh. Not much flavor all the way around. I did however really like the springroll, it was light, crisp and did have good flavor with the sauce. Could have been a bad night but don't know if I will go here again...

I'm very surprised about the first review. I wasn't aware they deliver, so I wonder if the reviewer is talking about the same restaurant, but maybe he is. Anyway, I think this is a decent place for quick, good quality take-out. I've never been disappointed here. I always order the food spicy and it seems there is some inconsistency in the spiciness level, but they have small cups of crushed peppers that you can take with you to make your meal spicier. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for Thai food on the go.

The worst Thai place I've been to, hands down. The food sucked, it was a little dirty, and the staff was just weird and a bit rude on both visits I made there. It is hard to screw up Thai food, but they found a way.

I genuinely hate giving out 1's, esp to mom and pop restaurants. Unfortunately though, this had to be one of the worst take out places I've ever been too. I know the family's not doing poorly though cause their kids rolled up in a Navigator when they delivered. That said, c'mon, I couldn't even finish my meal cause it was so gross. You guys earn good cash for what it's worth, so please don't bastardize Thai food like Mcdonald's bastardized the burger.

Firstly, to R.C. in case u didn't know 95% of all Thai Restaurants in Michigan is owned by Hmong and 100% of the Thai Restaurants have Hmong people as the main chefs. I know the Hmong society quite well, so I know. Besides that, this place is Great, everytime I go in there!! Keep up the good job! Rumor has it that parking might expand and so they will offer dine in afterwards.
