Great place! I have been here dozens of times. This place always is satisfying to our bellys! I don't agree with the low reviews.

I have been to this location twice, the first time the service was very slow and our food took forever! Once the food arrived it was nothing special. The second time I went I waited 45 min for a simple chicken pita! The waitress was nice but did not bother to fill up my water or come to check on us. Will not be going to this one again.

It was our first time here and our last! We were seated, ordered our beverages and looked over the menu. We all noticed that the staff/owner were not of middle eastern decent, rather Indian or Mexican - so this was a red flag, but since we already had our drinks, proceeded to order. We started off with lemon rice soup, the rice was hard (undercooked), the soup was watery and it was bland... not to mention COLD. It seems like they had a pot full of "cooked" rice and upon order put the rice in a bowl and poured broth on top. So we notified our server, which didn't seem pleased but she took them away. Next, our food came. We got the gyro plate (unassembled gyro), gyro sandwich and Greek salad with grilled chicken. Regarding the gyro plate and sanwich: gyro meat was burnt, the Tzatziki sauce was frozen. The salad was watered down, with a puddle of water on the bottom of the plate, the chicken was hard (not cooked to order). PS: the Tabasco at the table was watered down/filled with water! I wouldn't go here again and don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

OMG.........Red Olive is what it is............. not like I had super high expectations.. .....however, this Red Olive has to be the worst. The tabasco was refilled with WATER (probably by a patron.....ewwww)........the ketchup bottle had been refilled SEVERAL times (which means nasty old ketchup was getting mixed with new ketchup for God knows how long).........I asked for a fresh bottle (the server looked at me like I had two heads)...........she came back with another nasty bottle that had also been refilled several times......I get it, I used to work for a condiment company...........but when the bottle looks like its a year old...........it probably is.........and its probably been refilled as many times. No thanks.........will never go back to this location.

Ahh... Coney islands... Just your basic run of the mill family restaurant that continues to run rampant in the the Midwest. However, Michigan loves them and seems to enable mediocrity, so I shouldn't be too amazed how much people praise these places. When you walk in, there is nothing unique. You get the same lack of acknowledgement from the front door staff; same boring menu categories and decor, but only portion sizes, service and prices are the nuances to review. So keep expectations low as with any coney island because if you want well done hash browns, it won't happen. Want to feel rushed, impersonal service and pay for overpriced breakfasts, you've come to the right place. But one redeeming opportunity is that Mon - Sat mornings before 11am, omelets menu is $4.95. And the food and drink portions and taste were ok as expected; food was served within 15 minutes of placing the order with hash browns not well done as requested. Could I have made her go back and fix it? Sure, but remember, this was to be expected. .. lack of personal service to care enough about your requests even if she looks like she wrote it down and said it would not be a problem. So when the Server did the usual check back, it's really a loss cause because you're too hungry and half way into the meal. You pay at the front desk and will be asked if everything was OK. You can express that your modifications weren't made and just get a sincere apology from someone who's unempowered to do anything to rectify your complaint. In all, go if you must eat with friends that vote to come here, and expect apathy and lack of detail.

I have to say, I've been visiting all of the Red Olive locations for over 5 years now, and on almost every occasion things have been great! I've mostly been to all of the locations for breakfasts, and I'm almost always presented with hot, fresh, and delicious omelets, with hash browns cooked to perfection (not well done or burnt...gag!), toast done perfectly, and coffee that's ever-flowing.... There have been a couple of mishaps here and there, but when brought to the attention of the server, all issues were immediately resolved. For this particular location I've had a breakfast as well as light dinner (chicken salad) and again both experiences were satisfactory, I'll be going back for sure!*

Its good for breakfast, omelettes are good, pancakes are good, and staff members are friendly for the most part.

I frequent this red olive, as it's right by my home. The waitress who works in the mornings full time is awesome, her name slips me but she's tall and thin. Exceptional waitress. The rest of the staff are hit or miss on whether you'll get decent service, I've had good, I've had really bad. The food is good, not great, about what you'd expect out of what you pay. I would love to give this place four or five stars as I go there quite a bit. However, in the evening, this is the third time I have called to place a carry out order, to have nobody answer the phone. To update my review, my last several meals were very well done, and service had been good.

Unsanitary! Being a resident of Rochester Hills, I've eaten here a couple times and have been somewhat underwhelmed. However, this past New Year's day we were searching for a nice family place to have a simple breakfast. That's when everything took a terrible turn. I went to the men's room to wash my hands and lo and behold: I see the cook grabbing the urinal and vomiting profusely. He didn't even decide to use the toilet. As I was washing my hands, I saw him exit (WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS) as he wiped his mouth. Clearly he was hung over. I then rushed out to warn my family to put their food down. I spoke to the manager (I could also see the cook back in the kitchen doing his thing) and all he could muster was "Sorry, this shouldn't happen." I get it, everyone gets sick. But that doesn't mean he at least can't wash his hands, or tell his manager he's too sick and he needs to leave.

umm this place is okay for a lunch. They only have 1 size for take out soup, and once I found hair in my food, and that threw me off! But if you want try the Chicken Gyro and greek salad special for lunch! You cant beat the price, and by the time you get your gyro your stuffed from salad bc its that huge!

These days if I go to a restaurant at all - it is after sifting through my available coupons and then picking the best option. I came across a 15% off entire bill coupon for here and figured my tip is paid for so what the heck. The place was empty but it was a Tuesday late evening at 9pm, just an hour before close. The waitress was simple, quiet and effective. We ordered a gyro and fries that came out to a reasonable $8'ish. The gyro was very tasty and well endowed - hot & fresh. Loaded with plenty of meat, onion and tomato - it was most definitely an awesome and filling gyro sandwich. It came wrapped in foil which locked in the heat the whole time I ate it. The gyro was about as good as you could get in Greektown even. The fries on the side were XL-portioned - definitely enough fries for 2 to share. My complaint is that the tzatziki sauce was way too plain. There was no cucumber or parsley in it - it just tasted like plain yogurt almost. My fiancee got a tour of Greece type platter with a starter soup, Greek breads, gyros meat, moussaka, and an eggplant dish with rice. Her platter was so HUGE that after her soup and bread she was able to eat 1/3 of the dinner platter and save the rest. All in all, we both ate for $20 w/tip incld. the 15% off entire bill coupon. For that kind of pricing and having enough leftovers for both of our lunches the next day was awesome. This place will give you diner atmosphere, quality and quantity Greek food at a fair price. The value is great - especially with the coupon - and even without it is a fair place to try. Check it out!

I get carryout from this Red Olive usually 1-2x per week. The carryout service is great. Always friendly. I usually get omelets or salads and for awhile the food wasn't consistent. Sometimes it would be great other times just okay. For the past month or so though it has always been great. I don't know if they have new cooks or maybe just have improved. I have been so happy with every order I have gotten lately though. Their chicken is so good! And the salad dressings are amazing! Like I said their carryout service is great and they are so friendly. I will keep going back and definitely recommend them.

First of all, I don't blame the server. I blame the management for hiring 16-year-olds who have never been employed before and then leaving them in charge. There was no manager there that I could see. Our server forgot everything, forgot to bring us menus, forgot straws, forgot to bring the soup and appetizer BEFORE the meal. Every time we asked for something, we got a blank stare. My son thought we were on Candid Camera. I should also add that we were the only customers at about 7:30pm on a Tuesday. The hot dog that I got was cold on the inside, like they rolled it around on a grill for a minute to warm the outside. They didn't have relish. Also, you only get one refill on drinks, if that matters to you. It was just weird. They have everything on the menu, including Middle Eastern dishes. Why on earth would anybody open a restaurant that serves half-assed versions of the same dishes as Palm Palace in the same parking lot?

Awful...place was half full so the waitresses were not busy! Our waitress threw the menus on the table and as if on second thought turned and asked us so sweetly, "you want something to drink?". Our food order was wrong and we had to find another waitress to correct it. We never got drink refills...begrudgingly got a box and check. When I asked to speak to a manager the very young hostess stated she "called" him...indicating he was not on site. Two ruebens, one cheeseburger and fries with one very underdone flaming cheese with cold pita...40.00. We left feeling cheated and angry and they didn't seem to mind that we were the second table to leave this way. BTW...when did waitresses start wearing yoga pants?? Inappropriate.

Went for brunch on a Sunday around noon. The place was about half full, but not the cleanest with crap on the floor all over...weird since there were a lot of people working. It took like 5 min for the hostess to talk to us. Server was good, no complaints. I had a gyro omelet. Too much egg, not enough toppings. Hardly any gyro meat. They did serve it with tzatziki sauce, interesting and tasty. Hashbrowns could have been crispier. Toast was overdone. Not really worth the price. I've had better.

Service was horrible!! Even though she wouldn't admit it the waitress forgot to it our order in. It took 30 minutes to get 4 gyros & 1 pancake!! Then they didnt put tatziki sauce on any of the gyros. Ive ordered carry out from then before with no problems, so in the future I'll stick to that.

We decided to try someplace new for breakfast, and they were one of the few Rochester restaurants open on Labor Day. We were greeted and seated right away, but then it took a turn for the worse. I'd say the place was only about one-third full, and there was plenty of help available, but we were completely ignored. We watched for 15 minutes as the server stopped at the booth behind me, then would walk past us and stop at the booth on the other side. We waved at her a few times and kept thinking she would stop the next time she came by, but she never did. It was almost funny, except were were starving and wanted to order. After 15 minutes of no service, not even a glass of water, we got up and left. No one who worked there seemed to notice or care. I have never experienced anything like that before.

Sub standard food and service, but costs the same as better restaurants nearby. Why bother?

Best Breakfast in Rochester Hills area. Good service, good omelets, great prices on early bird specials. Nice atmosphere, open, light and uncrowded seating.

This is one of the nicer coney island/family restaurants around town. It is always very clean, good tasting food, and huge portions for very reasonable prices. The vegetarian omelet is my favorite. The menu selection is huge--almost too huge. I think they could take some of the Asian stuff off, b/c its kind of overwhelming and I doubt any one is going there for a stir fry anyways.
