I like Outback and we always got curbside take-away at the location near our old house. This location is absolutely terribly terrible. There are no parking spots for take-away and the lane outside the cashier is marked no-standing. The cashier came out to have me sign a charge slip...after I paid online..and then went back inside and did not come back out. 17 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready I was still waiting and waiting. I saw her on the phone through the window. I finally had to go park in a neighboring parking lot and go inside the restaurant. The host went to check on my order and came back and led me through the restaurant to the take-away area where the manager was waiting with a smile..no apology..just a smile as if she expected a congratulations. By the time I got home the food was ice cold and terrible. I will never go back there again and don't know if I will ever return to Outback.

I have moved a bit further from this area (10 or so miles) so I haven't gone here as often as I once had. I have gone there at least once recently and I was still very happy. This restaurant was once one of our local favorites and still appears to be on top of things. Places which are 'independently owned and operated' typically mean that a well respected name doesn't amount to much. I have been to quite a few Outbacks and wasn't impressed until I found this one. I was pleasantly surprised by their steaks - commonly over-spiced and dry were still spicy but juicy. My happiest find was their king crab legs. I love crab legs, but are quickly annoyed by the amount of work involved in removing them from their shell. Not just snow or dungeness, but king as well in other places were still scrawny and (in my opinion) overpriced. Here I found easily removed pre-cut sides of king crab legs with meat the size of a banana for $10 - sold. Also try their Blue cheese chopped salad - admittedly I assume it is not their most health salad, but delicious. As with all Outbacks their Alice-Springs Chicken is phenomenal. Parking is a bit odd - no left turn onto Rochester, but they can't be blamed for that. However, nearby annual fireworks from Borden Park (oddly scheduled for late July) make this a popular place.

I hate to say this but this is the first time that I have ever been to an Outback and had HORRIBLE food. My fiance ordered prime rib and I ordered a filet, both were not cooked right at ALL and were nowhere near the quality of what Outback usually has. This was the fist visit ever for me to the Rochester location so I guess I have to think that it was just this location that was bad. The waitress was pretty okay and our food came out really fast.. but I would have much rather that it came out right,,, and good. Very disappointing after a long week and a million places to choose from. Will never go back to this location, sticking with the one on M59 and Schoenherr. Yuck.

Extremely slow service especially since the restaurant was less than half full. Staff spent more time socializing with friends than actually working. Steaks were really good but they forgot my boyfriends baked potatoe. By the time our waitress came back around we were done eating and ready to go. She did make a adjustment to the bill for the missing potatoe but we waited over ten minutes for her to come back to pick up the check

The absolute worst experience I've ever had. I understand this is outback, but this was below even their standards... From the simple bread and water taking 10 minutes, to our appetizers being all burnt to crisp, steaks being hard to cut/eat at medium temp. The staff was overwhelmed and not helpful whatsoever... Worst over all experience I've ever had.

We placed a curbside pickup for Saturday evening. When we got home one of our dinners were missing. Luckily we don't leave too far away and we drove back to get the other entree. We had to wait for them to prepare the entree all the while the rest of our dinner was getting cold. The only thing they offered for our trouble was a coupon for a free appetizer on our next visit. I don't think we will be returning and using the coupon.

We went for a late lunch. Place was not busy. Service was slow. Food was not great. I would not wait an hour at dinner time for this food.

We have been disappointed by this location in the past, but the service had always made up for the issues. It has been quite some time since we have gone to this location, we had to do shopping in the area so we thought we would give it another try. We should not have bothered. We waited 10 minutes to be seated in a half empty restaurant. Once seated we waited another 10 minutes for the server to come by to take our drink order. At this time we gave him our appetizer order: Aussie Cheese Fries. After 15 additional minutes, we had yet to actually order, our appetizer arrives. When the server set down the plate we had to ask if it was a full order. There are more fries in a large fast food order of fries than the amount of fries that were in the $8.99 appetizer that arrived at our table. At this point we decided that when the waiter arrived we would just ask for the bill and be done. After another 5 minutes passed the waiter came, we told him we were done and asked for the check. He told us to wait a moment....couple minutes more passed and a manager arrived stating they would comp the drinks and appetizer and asked if we would like to stay for dinner. We declined the offer, thanking her for the offer. She put us on a list to receive a complimentary meal but i doubt we will take them up on the generous offer.

I give them 4 stars for value. While they are nowhere close to something like a Ruth Chris, their steak is hard to beat for the price. We have gone to this location many times in the last 10 years - and while they are not always perfect, their steak is consistently good. And when they have made mistakes they have done good at correcting it.

So far this place is terrible. When I arrived there were several open tables and I was told the wait would be 15 to 20. I've been waiting 20 minutes staring at those same open tables with no one being seated. WTF? Revised my review up to 2 stars only because our waitress is great Food is inconsistent. Garlic mashed taters were good but ribeye was way over cooked.

Outback is my favorite chain restaurant for steaks. I was a little annoyed recently that the steak I usually get (6 oz. Outback Special, now called Outback Sirloin), went from $9.99 to $11.99, but it's always a tasty meal. {side note: they also need to bring back their sweet potato fries! Those were so good. Though the new garlic parmesan fries are also very good, with the aioli dipping sauce too.} I had never been to this location before, but the one closest to me, Madison Heights, isn't that great, and I was meeting friends here. The layout of this one is a little unusual but I liked it, it's on the end of a shopping plaza. I got to the restaurant before the 5 others in my party and the waitress brought fresh bread and waters for everyone. There was a little confusion on if happy hour was still happening or not, when I asked, but indeed it was (I think it's like 4-6pm weekdays), and we got HUGE beers for the price of a regular-sized one. I ordered my usual 6 oz. Outback sirloin but what I was unimpressed with is that the salad it came with came with the whole meal - this may have been because no one else in my party had ordered a steak / a side salad, but usually the salad comes out first, which not only left me with 3 big plates (and 6 of us at the table, so it was a little squished) but me feeling like I had to scarf down my salad. One of the ladies with us had a blue cheese allergy, and apparently the dish she ordered came without blue cheese (at her request) but ALSO came with a blue cheese dressing, so kudos on the server (not the waitress, but server) for catching that in time ... that would not have been good. Overall this location was fine - not fantastic, but definitely not bad either. I would come here over the MH location since I haven't had good experiences at that one.

Had $90 worth of gift cards to use, so myself (with three others) went to this Outback and had a great time! The wait was only about 10 minutes on a Saturday night. The service was amazing, the food was all good, and we had a good time in the hour we were there from walking in to walking out.

I have been here twice and both times my experience was bad. The service was poor and the food wasn't very good. I am in no way faulting the outback chain. It was only this location that was bad. Try the one near Hall Rd. The service and food there have always been great.

Yikes! So my husband, mom and I came here for dinner this week. We usually steer clear of chains (we like to support local restaurant owners), but the bloomin' onion lured us in. When we walked in I was very happy as the place only had about three other tables and part of the bar full. Our hungry bunch figured we would be eating in no time. Mom & husband both ordered steaks - medium-well & medium. I ordered the California Chicken sandwich. 25 minutes passes and we finally get our bloomin' onion. It was the greasiest thing I've ever seen. It was sitting in a pool of grease from the fryer on the plate - it's almost as if it was pulled directly from the fryer and plopped on the plate instead of letting the oil drain off of it. Another 30 minutes goes by and we finally get our food. My mom cut into her steak, and hers was a little over cooked, but she ended up liking it. No problems there. Then we look at my husband's steak, and it looks like a hockey puck. He cut into it and it was very well-done. He ordered medium! He would have eaten it if it wasn't so tough, but going against normal protocol, he sent it back. My mom and I were already finished eating (he insisted we eat and not wait for him) when they brought him a new steak out. I could already tell it was severely under-done - the edges were still raw and only the top and bottom of the steak were seared. He cut in, and the steak was practically mooing at him. So they take it back a second time to throw it back on the grill for a few minutes. It came back out and it was perfect that time. I guess it's true that third times a charm! The manager apologized and actually comped his meal which is why I am giving the two star review. Had that not happened, it would have only been one. However, we can't say third time is a charm with dining experiences at Outback because unfortunately we won't be going back.

This outback is pretty good, if you know the outback drill. A few times they've gotten orders among the table mixed up but there's never a problem with getting those corrected. I always order the most expensive steak so I can't comment on the cheaper stuff.

Great food and fast service. I don't go to outback often but even so, the waiter still knows my order without me even having to say anything. Staff is friendly as well

Everything is smaller in Australia. or No rules? There should be! I couldn't decide between these two titles, since it was that bad. The first thing that was smaller was our table. The bar area has some small tables that fit four adults there for drinks. They don't fit a family of five with a lot of food. It was very cramped and difficult to even have enough elbow room to cut a steak. Moving one's feet meant kicking someone. Not good. The second thing that was smaller was my prime rib. I love prime rib and order a 16oz prime rib at many different restaurants. Somehow, this Outback's 16oz is far smaller than other places. (Maybe they do some weird conversion to metric? Ha ha.) The third thing that was smaller was our cheesecake. Tiny. About 1/2 the size I expect at a restaurant. The first rule broken was that fish should be cooked all the way. My wife's fish wasn't and was cold to boot. The second rule broken was baked potatoes should not be leathery. Outback used to have amazing good potatoes, but if they sit for hours, they aren't good. The third rule broken was that service should be prompt and the kitchen quick. Two hours is too long for a meal with three young kids to last. Yes, they were busy, but it is the restaurant's job to make sure that it is properly staffed. After several bad experiences, Outback is crossed off our restaurant list.

Me and my boyfriend went today. The food was really good. Have to get a blooming onion if course and my waiter and the manager voluntarily gave me another steak because they think they cooked it a little too much. They were Jaclyn and Kevin! :) thank you!

As Outback Steak House's go, this one has to be one of the worse I've been to. I gave it 2 stars only because their food is consistently just ok. If you want to eat here on a Friday or Saturday night you better call ahead. The wait can be anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour + for 2 people. Don't order their sirloin, you can prepare a better steak for $6.00 at home on the grill. Blue cheese wedge salad was good.

Just left and will not be going back ! Wilted lettuce in the salad, think it was a couple days old. Limp soggy broccoli, hair in my mashed potatoes and hardly no seasoning on the steak. Oh but the bread was good for that they get one star.

We live within walking distance of this Outback, but we don't go here. We go to the one by Lakeside. Sole reason: This place never has the creamy onion soup. Look. There is only one thing that differentiates Outback from every other mediocre middle-end steakhouse out there. Texas Roadhouse has better bread. Longhorn has better appetizers. Both of those places quite frankly have better beef. Logan's Roadhouse... nah, Logan's is just kinda lousy. But MY POINT is that everyone does onion blooms, everyone does little loaves of warm bread, everyone does loaded baked potatoes, but there's only ONE restaurant where you can get a creamy bowl of onion-y nirvana made with LOVE and topped with the glorious colby-jack of justice. Unless you go to the Outback on Rochester Road, where We Apparently Can't Have Nice Things. If for some reason you don't care about the onion soup (!?), the food they do deign to serve you is fine. Service is okay. S'all good. Whatever. We don't eat here.

Waiting for our waitress to come back, we stopped the hostess who kept walking around, looking like she was bored if she could break a $20 for us so we could leave a cash tip. She tells us to go up to the bar and have the bartender break it. Then sticks her hands up and says sorry. We all looked at each other in shock thinking we were giving her something to do! Other than that, mediocre food tonight.

Service at this location was good. Standard big chain conformity all the food taste the same as any other location . Was never a big fan of the seasoning they use. The beer selection is very standard Sam Adams, Miller, no local beer.

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants. But as chains go this is a good place the wings, tuna and steaks as good as any chain out there. Fair prices and good service. Not a 10 but a good 8 in dinning.
