Good folks to work with over the phone. I called in from another state and placed an order for someone. I am told the food is delicious, but I have not myself eaten it. The service--the portion of the business I have direct knowledge about--proved great. Thanks!

It's an average deli place. Had a grilled tuna sandwich. Didn't expect it but it was made with Miracle Whip, which had a tangy taste. Also the tuna was cold and the bread was hot. Expected the entire sandwich to be at least warm. Doubt I'll be back.

Great selection of food. I had a hard time deciding because everything sounded so good. I ended up getting the Nikki pita with sweet potato fries. My friend got the Greek salad. Mine tasted awesome and my friend was raving about her salad the entire time too. I definitely plan on going back to try more things on menu.

Been here a long time ago , but i think they expanded their menu a lot , very impressed with the place even more now , i ordered the Italian ( sub ) - Very Large with toasted sub bun and the meat was cooked to ( i think ) , VERY GOOD - a little tough to handle , but TASTY !!!!! They specialized in subs , but they added burgers , quesdillas , wraps , pitas , and even a decent breakfast ,,,,,,, but the only thing i couldn't figure out is , if they had waiter service ???? , because i did what the 2 ladies did in front of me - order at the register and then go sit down for it . Still way better sub than the competition in the area !!!!!

Love this place. Try the poppy sandwich (I sub goat cheese for feta). And the smoothies are all good!

I've recently had 2 very good tasting meals at Chomp. The portobello mushroom sandwich and a roasted apple with gouda burger. Both full of flavor and filling. What ruined the meal was the massive amount of liquid from the burgers, soaking the bottom bun, then soaking my hands. It made them very hard to eat and extremely messy. I order the 'Beet It' raw juice to accompany my burger. I love beet juice. This juice was not flavorful and the beets were not mellowed by the other juices in the mix. Then the price tag.. $19+ for lunch?!?! Ugg. I don't think I'll return on price alone. My mouth was happy, but my hands and wallet, not so much.

We haven't been back to this place since it opened and weren't all that impressed then. It has definitely improved. The burgers (a Chomp and avocado) were quite tasty, a bit too greasy, good portion size and garnished with fresh ingredients. The sautéed mushrooms on my burger clearly came from a can but everything else, including the sweet potato fries were enjoyable. I'll be back for the Siracha burger. I'd pick this place over B spot burgers @ the Village.

Great spot. My wife and I stopped for a quick lunch and loved it. The chicken siracha sandwich and chicken Caesar pita were killer! We will definitely be back!

Not bad, but not worth the money or time dissapointed by cleanliness and slow service

50 mins for a burnt salmon blt - not worth the wait. My family ordered salads, which were uninspired and also not worth the wait

I can't believe I ate the whole thing! This place is very laid back and the service was excellent. The menu consists of burgers, pita wraps and sandwiches. The philly cheese steak I had was probably the best I have ever eaten! My wife had the vegetable wrap and loved it. If I didn't live 200 miles away, I would make this a regular stop! Highly recommended!

Gourmet Deli? Can it be? Gourmet menu and priced right too. Fresh quality ingredients make their dishes taste great.

This was....disappointing. The atmosphere was chill and I liked how friendly the workers were, but I was really expecting more from the food based on the reviews. I got the cobb salad without blue cheese and my friend got the balsamic chicken salad. While the lettuce wasn't wilted it tasted fresh out of a non washed lettuce bag (that kind of chemically plastic taste), the toppings were all ok, but the chicken tasted like it was frozen precooked chicken that they reheat and cut up. The hard boiled egg tasted very old, and the bacon was oddly rubbery. My friend said his salad was abrasively sweet with the dressing and other ingredients. Overall I feel like it wasn't worth the money or the time. Hopefully I just tried the wrong thing?

Great food expensive for a walk in diner setting. . Will most definitely return when I can spend extra cash. . But I'd rather go to the local Coney island with these prices. .

Very good food, very... non-existent service. When you walk in, or even look at the building from the outside, you can see it's not very big. When you get through the door, there's a cashier in front of you with menus on the counter and you order right there. It's not a super unusual way of ordering food at a restaurant, but it's not typical. After paying, you sit down and wait for your food. I spent a little bit when I came here -- the BGC, a cup of wild rice and mushroom soup, and a Tea Time smoothie. The total was $16 or something like that, which is quite a bit more than I usually spend on a lunch. My girlfriend got the Poppy, a cup of chicken dumpling soup, and their shoestring fries. It all came out pretty quickly, even though they were relatively busy. My favorite thing was definitely the wild rice and mushroom soup... good lord. The only thing I regret was getting a cup instead of a bowl. I was also surprised to see the price. Only $2 for a cup, and $3 for a bowl? They could charge almost twice that and it would be worth it, in my opinion (PLEASE DON'T THOUGH). The BGC I thought was pretty good, but it was impossible to eat without making a huge mess out of it because everything kept sliding around. Additionally, the chicken breast on my sandwich was a little small for the bread. Maybe I just got unlucky, but a slightly bigger piece would have been nice. The Tea Time smoothie I got was good, as I expected it to be. At $5.50 the price may seem pretty high, but it's comparable to plenty of other places that serve smoothies. Chomp gets four stars from me for a couple reasons. First, everything is served a la carte. I find it really peculiar that even the burgers don't come with fries on the side or something. Since everything *is* a la carte, getting a side makes a typical meal cost more here than at other places in a similar price range. Second, there's no service. Almost literally. They give you your food, but that's it. My water was just about gone after I finished my soup, and I never got a refill. Third, it's a tight area and the tables are kind of small, so don't be surprised if your elbows get bumped or you trip on somebody's chair. Chomp has a pretty big menu and what I had I liked. The a la carte only sort of thing is a bit irritating, but I'd come back just to try something else off of their nice-sized menu. QUICK UPDATE: I went again today and ordered a bowl of their tortilla soup, a Sriracha burger (on special), a smoothie, and split an order of seasoned fries. It's tempting to lower my rating a star, but I won't. We got our sandwiches, fries, soup, and smoothies all at the same time, even though the restaurant was relatively empty -- more frustrating, we noticed people who came in after us got their orders before us. My burger, which I asked to have medium rare, was well-done. I think if you go there and ask for a well-done burger, you may just get a pile of ash. It was juicy and was really tasty, but can't you learn how to cook a burger? The smoothie was fine and good with nothing bad to say about it, and the seasoned fries were delicious as well. The tortilla soup wasn't bad, but could use some work. It was strangely thick, and just didn't taste like I imagined it would. I guess I thought it would taste more... Mexican? I don't know, it wasn't bad, but not nearly as good as that mushroom and wild rice soup I had the first time I was here. It was still a nice lunch, but if this was my first visit, I'd be a bit more hesitant to return.

I work at Rusted Roots Salon in downtown Rochester and Chomp is one of a few places that will deliver food. They are AMAZING. Rain, shine, twice in one day. They aren't bothered! Their menu is extensive and delicious. Try the chicken dumpling soup or one of their salads!

  • Katerina Y. Y.

The bad thing about this place is the cashier. She didn't know very much about the menu and just handed us the piece of paper no helpful hints and she didn't know her math was unable to give the correct change. otherwise I would say this is the most awesome place to have fresh sweet potato fries cut thick and authentic. The Turkey ruben was okay. Perhaps I was expecting sauerkraut and not a wet cole slaw on top of the Turkey. I don't like Cole slaw. My hot drink also came Luke warm. Yuk.

I find it very hard to eat healthy in michigan @ restaurants. This place though, is one that I can depend on. During my visit, I got a half-sized steak salad. A great deal at 8 bucks, with a good amount of meat. The meat was a bit over-done, but I guess in the future I can ask that to be changed. I also cheated a bit and got some onion petals - I believe it was 4 bucks extra for a heaping plate of them. I ate a 1/3 at the restaurant, and brought the rest back. Took me two days to finish the leftovers! There is an extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit juices and smoothies. Would definitely be back! Parking - on Main st, there is paid parking, but behind Main street (as in, the area behind this restaurant), there's multiple hour parking that's free and seems rather plentiful.

Solid place for a quick lunch! The smoothies are a little inconsistent. Sometimes they taste good, sometimes they're a bit watery. The worst thing is choosing what to get here; I think I take an average of 10 minutes to order! The food is good but I wouldn't call it anything out of the ordinary. Chomp is always a safe choice!

  • Christine E.

I have been here in the past and food was pretty good. However , I just ordered take out and it wasn't good at all. I was charged $5 for cup of soup that I think is out of a can. And salad was $14 and the salmon tasted like it was frozen. I remember last time we were there the food being fresh. New owners ?

Love this deli! From the outside, it doesn't look like much but the food and smoothies are fabulous! My daughter and I ate here and were both very impressed. I had a greek chicken pita. It was the best one I have had anywhere including Greek restaurants. The chicken was lean and perfectly cooked and it was loaded with fresh veggies! They also have a kids menu and my daughter got a small smoothie with her meal. It is small inside but you can take it to go. I also saw they have a Mexican grill out back. Would definitely go back to try it.

Note to owners: get some rugs or mats for under the tables to cut down on the echo in here. The food is pretty good here but the place is really small and EXTREMELY loud. The place seats about 30 but you'd think from the noise that there was 300 people in here. I recommend the food..to go

Second time I've been there and have enjoyed it each time. Have had the burgers and salads, as well as the onion petals. Will be back to try breakfast.

This place is awesome. Love the friendly staff and the food is tasty and often adventurous. I am particularly fond of the black bean quesadilla, but the soups and salads are always good. They often have seasonal specials so switch it up sometimes. The kids menu is great, my daughter requests to eat at Chomp frequently.

  • Doug B.

Apple on a burger? Oh yes. A recent special offers a baked (possibly cinnamon-y) apple as a burger condiment. This is the best idea since BWW put nacho chips on their Screamin' Nacho Burger! Seasoned Fries were also excellent - cooked/fried perfectly. And my date very much enjoyed her smoothie (as usual). The front of house staff always seem very immature. Not rude or mean in any way, just not particularly experienced in customer service. In summary: Worth the visit! Chomp's food never disappoints. Service? Eh.

A most excellent deli/sandwich shop on charming downtown Rochester with amazing, handmade breads, along with unique creations. The only bad part about Chomp is figuring out which of their delicious sandwiches you're actually going to order, and which you're going to save until the next visit!

  • J T.

I really wanted to like this place. They actually have a decent vegetarian selection and I really thought the food would be good. I ordered the black bean quesadilla (house-made black bean patty, onions, peppers, colby cheese, on grilled spinach tortilla) Sounds delish, but the taste fell flat. It would be better to have fewer vegetarian options that are actually good instead of lots of mediocre ones.

Food is amazing! We went to this place because of a yelp review and good thing we did! It is absolutely what I love in restaurants, a random small restaurant where you order at the counter. The Santa Fe salad is really good, and you can get a half size. I also had a bowl of the shrimp and corn chowder and it was hardy with large chunks of shrimp. My boyfriend got the chicken Caesar pita and he said it was delicious. Per another yelp review we tried the sweet potato fries and those were pretty great too! The great thing is it seems you can substitute anything on the menu. We are definitely coming here over and over again! I'm sad I live in royal oak.

Overall good atmosphere, and really good potential for a smaller restaurant. I got the club sandwich; it was decent except that it was obvious that they used regular old packaged lunchmeat. You could see that they didn't even bother layering it, but instead just took out four or five slices of turkey and just threw it on there as one big chunk. They also use miracle whip but call it mayonnaise on the menu -- miracle whip is fine for some people, but don't call it mayonnaise because there are jerks like me that can't friggin stand miracle whip. DEAL BREAKERS were as follows: 1. One of the cooks was using his phone, and laughing hysterically while showing pictures to other workers. He was doing this while hanging over the counter/window thing (so he was obviously on the clock). Your phone has some of the worst germs out of anything you own. And this guy was using his in the kitchen. Gross, man. 2. My girlfriend's sandwich had an eyelash in it. When she got up to notify the cashier, she also discovered another long hair on the sandwich. Luckily they offered her a refund for her sandwich. If you're not phased by those pretty nasty things, then I guess give the place a try.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We were greeted as we entered, we grabbed some menus and dove into all the options. There is no shortage of choices, as long as a sandwhich or salad is fine with you. Beyond burgers, wraps, pitas and salads, this place doesn't have anything else in terms of food. I went with a chicken pita, the wife ordered a turkey wrap with a spinach tortilla, our friend got a veggie wrap and his wife also ordered the chicken pita. All of us were very impressed with the speed at which the food was made. This initially had me worried, thinking it wouldn't taste fresh. I was wrong. The ingrediants tasted delicious, and the fries were completely acceptable. The location, the prices, the staff, and the food make this place a fantastic option if you are looking for a nice downtown restaurant for lunch. Highly, highly recommended.

Cute little place in downtown Rochester. Was driving by and looked it up to check out the reviews. Ended up enjoying it. The service was good. Had the Greek burger. It has feta cheese, spinach, and a dressing. The dressing made the bottom half of the bun soggy but it tasted good. Maybe light dressing or dressing on the side would be best for this meal. Fries were good too. Got a basket and shared it with a friend.

Great little place right on the south end of Main Street in dowtown Rochester. Very unique sandwiches....I tried the Donavan and it had turkey, brie, mixed greens and a mango or peach dressing (can't remember which) and it was fantastic. My wife had one if their salads, kids had grilled cheese and mac and cheese which everyone enjoyed. Make sure to try the onion petals - awesome!.

I love downtown Rochester, and have found that there's a bunch of cool places to hang out and eat at since moving to this side of town. I came here with my mom last night, and for a first visit, we had a really good time. We came in and loved the feel of the place. Quaint, intimate with a fair amount of seating and a great menu. They tend to fall between healthy and hearty, which we both loved. Big enough portions that you leave full, but not so fattening that you feel guilty after you eat there. It's a fast casual dining place, so you order at the counter and then they bring it out to you. They seem to have daily specials going on, but my mom and I ordered off the menu this time. We were really impressed with the selection of items, and they don't seem to try to hard at what they do. What I mean by that, is they have an awesome selection and make good food, but they don't try to overdo it. I was torn between a sandwich and a burger, so I went with the bbq burger. I can't remember what my mom had, but it came out with a pretzel bun. We both loved our meal, and the prices are fair. Plates were cute as could be, and staff was friendly and nice. The only downside is that the seating is limited, and even though we were there for a late dinner, some of the tables never got cleared the time we were there. The place was only about half full, but several of the tables were full of dirty dishes from previous diners, and stayed that way until we left. Normally I wouldn't notice such a thing, but since seating is limited to begin with, it made it even more limited as to where we sat. We had wanted to sit by the two top in the front of the restaurant by the window so we could watch people go by, and unfortunately, it was still dirty with plates and dishes. Being that this place is awesome, I would gladly give it another chance in a heartbeat.

The only bad things about Chomp are the hours and the small size. They close at 8 on most nights when I feel like they would definitely make more if they stayed open a bit later. It is also somewhat expensive but I am willing to pay for that if it means fresh and healthy food. Other than that, I really do love the food. They use a lot of fresh ingredients and always have really interesting specials available. The raw juices are very tasty and you can add things to your smoothies like bee pollen, protein, etc. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly. I probably eat here at least once every two weeks and am in love with the poppy, the BGC and the salmon salad.

  • Roger B.

Food is usually very good. Just be prepared to wait a long time for your food. Especially when you order carry out. I have never once called in and had my food ready in the timeframe they say online. Easily add 10-15 mins to whatever they tell you or be prepared to sit and wait.

I love this place! We always order delivery service at my office and everything always comes promptly and correct. Usually there's always something wrong with a carryout, but not with Chomp. The owner is pleasant as well. I love the Cobb salad and the Cajun Club. Their quesadilla is one of my favorites as well. Huge portions!

  • Francisco C.

I have only tried the burgers here but they are amazing! I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this place before. I had the Sriracha burger and asked for some of their secret sauce as well and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. The only downside I guess is that the burger alone was $10 but it was definitely worth the price.

After biking the Paint Creek Trail, we wanted something light for lunch. We had never been to Chomp and I am so glad we discovered it! They offer a variety of salads, sandwiches, and burgers, along with raw juices and smoothies. Three of the items we ordered included the BGC (balsamic glazed chicken breast, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, spinach, tomato, lemon-basil aioli on a ciabatta), Poppy (grilled chicken breast, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, basil, sun-dried tomato pesto on a grilled ciabatta) and the Philly (roast beef, provolone, sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms and mayo) and everything was great! We also had seasoned fries and mozzarella stings. The seasoned fries were great, but next time we will do without the $5 mozzarella sticks with no dipping sauce. Everything looked fantastic and tasted really fresh. We will defiantly dine at Chomp the next time we are in Rochester!

I had high expectations of this deli from past reviewers. I ordered the Nikki sandwich as a carry out, paid $10 and some odd cents, took one bite and threw it away. The chicken had a frozen residue taste and the pita was so soggy the sandwich wouldn't hold right in my hands. I see I'm not the first here to complain about the chicken not tasting fresh. Cute looking joint but needs improvements.

  • Steven B.

Great place to sit down or carry out. Burgers are always cooked to your taste, I think it's because they the same cook (he's doing a great job). Not many places can do what they do, the staff is ok but at least they're not rude. I would recommend that you try this place out you have to it great!

  • Neely G.

Healthy options and great salads, soups, sandwiches. Prices pretty good for the quality. Always busy. Maybe too many choices for someone like me to make a decision quickly which is a must since there is always a line of people waiting behind you. Had the pumpkin bacon soup and it was incredible.

  • Stacy M.

Great smoothies and service. Nice location with sunny and cozy interior. Sandwiches are good, nothing special, but solidly good. Definitely more expensive than your usual sandwich shop in Michigan, but I can see splurging every once in awhile.

Have sampled many of their salads but I am especially fond of their black bean quesadilla. It's very small and not particularly cozy but the food is good quality. Great place if you're trying to eat healthy.

I never really venture over to Rochester Hills but I was starving and out this way. Chomp seemed cute from the outside and I think the name is cute. Came in for a late lunch and everyone working was very nice. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. Pretty large menu. Wish I had more to say, the portions were large. I'll stop back in again if I am in the area.

We love this place! They are very respectful about all our crazy food allergies and everything is delicious! We eat here often and they've only messed up one meal which they promptly fixed. Breakfast here is fantastic and seems to be a bit of a secret- the place is always empty when we go.

  • Sara K.

Really enjoyed Chomp when it opened up but lately the quality of food and service has really gone down the gutter. I recently returned hoping that things turned back around after a few months of not visiting. I was wrong -The freshness of the food is beyond stale. The lettuce on my salad was on the verge of being wilted and soggy, and the chicken tasted like rubber. I really wish the resturant would go back to the Healthy local foods they used to boast they offered and not the GFS like products they very evidently using.

  • Wren P.

Chomp was always my go-to for lunch dates. It's a bit expensive but everything I've ever gotten there has been spot-on. Only downside-- not much floor space so things can get a little crowded if a big group comes in.

    (4)
  • Mike T.

Overpriced but you do get big portions. I give it an average, won't run there soon. They do have a small outdoor area. Food is good. Another thing I hate is everything is a la carte, and parking is not convenient. I'd recommend a Try at least.

The smoothies are a little gross honestly. But the avocado bacon grilled cheese was really good. Fast service. Clean too. Parking could difficult though. I like the place a quick bite.

I'm pretty new to hanging out in the downtown Rochester area, but on a walk home from the Rochester Mills Oktober-fest, my friend and I stopped in for a smoothie-dessert - we both got the peanut butter cup...it was pretty good...it took a bit to make them though...that seemed to be the norm for wherever we went that day...but it was all good....smoothies were creamy and well flavored.... I'll have to stop in for some of their raw juices, sandwiches or salads next time I'm around.

  • Courty C.

Giant, fresh salads and generous sandwiches. Logistics are simple here: order at the counter, and in 5 to 10 minutes time have a freshly prepared, relatively healthy lunch. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be back. The house dressing that came with the Chomp salad was delicious! Chicken was moist and plentiful.

I love chomp! Each time I have been impressed with the food and the price. The salad was great. Also soup and sandwiches were good......

    (5)
  • Holly L.

Check your carry out before you leave...I work nearby and Chomp is very convenient. What is not convenient is needing to come back for missing items (like every other order is missing some crucial item!)

  • Alex M.

Service nonexistent. Watered down juice. Meat on only half the sandwich. Manager, likely the owner, not responsive or sympathetic to customer concerns or qualms. Save your money. Eat better somewhere else. Don't go.

Met a buddy for lunch in downtown Rochester, MI. I'm not very fond of small diner like places, but this place had a pretty cool feel to it. Took our order quickly and the 'order taker' was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. I had the Salmon Burger, PHENOMENAL Cooked perfectly and was YUMMY. Will defintly consider visiting again. If it was a tad bit bigger I'd give it 5 stars.

If you have food allergies in your family, this isn't the place for you. The staff seems to have zero training answering question around common food allergies. More importantly, they have a hard time answering food allergen questions correctly. I was informed that the hamburger buns were free of the allergens that my son is allergic too, but after pushing further to see the ingredients on the packaging, they actually had one of the main allergens market clearly. Pretty scary. They seemed put out to share or investigate the ingredients in their food and a manager or owner was non existent.

I'd characterize this place as "meh or miss." I've eaten here three times, and it's been a not-so-great mixed bag. The first time we got burger melts (I got a veggie burger, hubby got a hamburger) and they were a bit greasy, but still pretty good. And the sweet potato fries were really good, so I was willing to go back for a second try. Second time I had breakfast with three colleagues and we all left much lighter in our wallets and not so satisfied with our meals: meh. But lunch today will be my last meal there. I ordered a black bean burger and when it arrived, the guy who delivered it to the table couldn't even identify what it was because of all the cheese and grease. Since I didn't order cheese, he very kindly told the cook to make another one. But when my new lunch arrived, it wasn't so much a black bean burger as it was a half-cup of lukewarm black bean paste slathered between an oil-soaked bun. I had three bites, worried about the health of my gallbladder, and we left.

Yum! My wife gets to work nearby, she is super lucky. I love this place, have only eaten here two or three times in the past year but I have always loved the food. Its just cool to go to a place that is like a high quality diner. Growing up in Flint I went to diners all the time in the format of Coney Islands. This place would be a high end restaurant compared to many diners I still love in Fli City. I have had a burger here, also fish tacos and a salmon burger. Fries here are amazing. All the soups here seem to be from scratch and are SOOOO tasty. Pablano Pepper Soup? Really?!! My daughter loves to have a quesadilla while sitting at the toddler table. Its a great place to bring kids in my opinion. Seriously, just go here.

This cute corner spot has delicious smoothies and yummy salads. I usually order the Michigan Salad, The raspberry vinaigrette is a little too sweet for me, but they easily substitute it for another. The offer half sizes, and thank goodness, because the portions are huge! I wish they had a better selection of soups, they might have a vegetarian option every few days, but there isn't any variety.

This unassuming deli in downtown Rochester is something of a hidden gem. It seems not a ton of people know about it but it's a great place to grab lunch if you're in the area. I work just a few blocks away from Chomp and I often order out on my lunch break. Because of that I've never actually sat down in the deli, so I cannot comment on their wait staff. (They're nice to me on the phone and at the register). I'm a big fan of burgers and sandwiches so that's what I've tried so far. Their Spicy Burger, while not being extraordinary patty-wise, is layered with a tasty sauce and jalapenos to give it a really flavorful, spicy crunch. The real star here for sandwich lovers is their Big Bite sandwich. It's a big sandwich, but if you're hungry enough you owe it to yourself to try it. Corned beef, coleslaw, tomatoes, thousand island dressing and french fries ON the sandwich, all between toasted rye bread. This might be my favorite sandwich ever. Give this place a shot.

It is a little cramped on the inside, but man are the sandwiches good!! Lots of unique sandwich options, especially on their daily special menu. Be prepared to spend a little more than you might expect on a "sandwich" lunch, and expect to feel a little claustrophobic during the lunch while you wait for your food...but it is worth it. There is limited outdoor seating a few doors down the side street (next to the shark mural on the side of the building).

I really like the food here - the burgers are pretty tasty and it's oddly hard to find a good burger around here. Also - they have lots of options, which I like. Sweet potato fries are also yummy, as are the salads. What i don't like is the way you have to order - at the counter and menus are not readily passed around so that you can study one before ordering. They should provide menus at the table or have a large overhead board. Sometimes ordering is not very efficient for this reason, and the place is a bit small.

My first time eating here. I work in downtown Rochester and I'm getting tired of the same places so I decided to walk a few blocks more and try Chomp. I wanted to eat somewhat healthy so I decided on the black bean quesadilla. The menu says it's a "house made black bean patty on grilled spinach tortilla." Um, no. It was more like baby food. Very soggy and hard to eat. The spinach tortilla wasn't grilled at all and there was a paste on the inside kind of like baby food. I could see black beans and corn in it. Not at all what the menu described. I ate about half of it because I was starving and it's the only lunch I have, but then had to trash the rest. Just too gross. The people working there were very nice and friendly but I won't be going back for a second try.

Chomp is great place for a quick stop to grab a sandwich, a smoothie, and be on your way. The lunching area is neat and clean, the servers are very polite, and on my first visit they did not took a long time to bring my food. I ask for a Reuben Grill and a apple base juice (I do not remember the exact name, but I know it had a lot of ginger). The sandwich had a good size and it was well prepared. My only complain is that it had a lot of sauce for my taste. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at the Chomp and I plan to return to taste some of their burgers.

This place breaks the bar on quick service, and quality food. I knew of the place for a while before actually eating there, and I am ashamed that I waited so long to see the light. My first time eating there was a few weeks ago, and I planned on writing a review sooner, but I've just been at Chomp the whole time. The workers are very friendly and helpful. Also a great feature is their gluten-free options, nice for our world of ever changing dietary concerns. The Philly is an awesome classic sandwich done right. The steak is juicy, and the cheese is great as well. The Fiesta Salad is one of the best salads I've ever had. The chicken is seasoned excellently, and the tortillas add a great crunch. Also the salad is pretty big. The smoothies are great, blended fresh fruit. They also have juices, both are a bit pricey, but smoothies and juices typically are. The Seasoned Fries are some of the best I have had. They are made fresh every order, and they don't mess around. Chomp makes them so you'll come back for more. The Avocado Burger... This burger... Is the best burger I have ever had... It actually brought a tear to my eye. A perfect sized, seasoned, juicy patty topped with lettuce, tomato, bacon, bleu cheese, and avocado all harmonize together for a taste unlike any other. If you like a mind-blowing burger, go get one now, seriously what are you waiting for. Prices are typically under $10, so about full-service restaurant prices, but the food is worth the price you pay. The building is a bit on the smaller size, but they do have outdoor seating. Very cleanly, very friendly, and freakin' delicious.

Stopped in here for a quick bite. The place has a diner-like feel to it with some teenagers taking order and the cook/owner?'s young daughter delivering the food. The venue itself wasn't overly impressive but the food was top notch for a deli/sandwich menu. I had the turkey melt. Cooked perfectly, paired with Munster cheese and a pretzel bun, it had a great satisfyingly salty taste. Similarly, my fiance had the BGC sandwich. She loved the balsamic glazed chicken, very tasty.

Fast food reinvented with a healthy twist. Fresh, good and always a great eating experience, what more shall I say. A must check out place for anyone who has not eaten here. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised and happy you decided to check it out.

I always go for a burger or salad when I'm here! they have AMAZING sweet potato fries! Haven't had a smoothie yet but friends are always impressed. Service is a bit slow... but i don't mind (i know they are making it fresh!) But the service is good! They also have Outdoor seating in the summer and it is PET FRIENDLY! so that is ALWAYS a plus for me since i live within walking distance and like to take the dogs with me. Their Chicken tortia soup is identical to Max & Erma's (which i love!)

Really good food and an excellent selection of items. Will do special adds to your order with no problem. Glad to see a "deli" that's something a little different. Personally don't care about juice or smoothies, and can't figure why others are focused on them in their reviews since it's not the focal point of the menu.

Great vegetarian food is hard to come by in the Northern Oakland County area. Their service was quick and the food was great. Their prices are a little high when just snagging lunch, and parking can be an issue at times. But, overall, great place to grab some great food.

They do an unadvertised breakfast! I checked it out while waiting for an oil change a few doors down. Blueberry crepes were scrumptious served with real blueberries versus canned! Not too sweet, and just the right amount of whipped cream!:)

I've had quite a few dishes here and I have to say the Chicken Tortilla Soup is my favorite. It has the perfect amount of kick. yumm! Also the chef is great, he makes a mean steak n' cheese with mushrooom and au jus sauce sandwich....it's not on the menu, but certainly ask. soo worth it. I want to support this family owned spot, so we try to go every month or so. Oh and I almost forgot, I love the sweet potato fries, delicious.

Ordered a tuna melt, tuna was o-k didn't taste really fresh I think Jimmy Johns tuna tastes much better. The cheese was only partially melted the place is far too small and there are way too many tables in such a tiny place. I was the third person in line and a fourth person came in and hit me opening the door, yeah too small....I won't be going back.

Family really likes to go here. Kids love the smoothies and my wife is a fan of the Spicy Turkey Burger. My favorite is their veggie burger, and the peanut butter cup smoothie is amazing!

BLT on chiabatta bread was very good. Kid's quesadilla was rated GOOD by my five year old.

I'm just going to say it... Chomp reminds me a lot of the restaurant that use to be in this exact same location. And the smoothies taste about the same. There are some differences- the wall color, the decor and the menu varies slightly. Chomp offers fresh juices, salads, burgers, hot dogs and a variety of fried finger foods. On this trip I tried a pomegranate breeze and tropical splash smoothie. They were both good, but next time I'll switch it to a milk based smoothie because I prefer a creamier texture. The girl behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I'll be back to try some more substantial menu items.

Ordered the Grilled Chicken Pita with Swiss chees, tomato, lettuce, and Ranch dressing. The pita was even grilled so it was very tasty. Food tasted fresh, quick service. Would definitely stop there for a bite again. Cute atmosphere too!!!

decent quick stop in kind of place for downtown rochester. smoothies were ok, sandwiches were ok, service was good (they made some mistakes, but apologized and were nice about it, and gave us free fries), but nothing stood out as being especially good or bad. we'll probably be back at some point, but definitely wouldn't plan an outing just to eat at chomp.

Stopped into this unsuspecting little gem for a late lunch...totally worth it! On the suggestion of who I believe was the owner, I got the chicken chili and the avacado burger. They were both delicious and very decently priced for such good quality food.
