Not much to say other than, hey, it's good, man. I tend to go for the tender bites, and they never let me down. For $7 you can get 6-8 of them (so says the receipt ... we got 8 each), a side, a sauce, and a roll. No complaints from me, it's a decent amount of food for the price. The sweet heat sauce that's fairly new isn't all that great. I'm not sure what it tastes like, but it's not hot, and it's not very sweet either. It should probably just be called ... nondescript flavor red color sauce. For sides, my girlfriend went with the broasted potatoes, and I got the onion rings. The broasted potatoes are always good, and you also get a nice portion of them for a side. The onion rings were fine and good, but I've had better, and the onion kept coming out after the first bite. Aw, damn it all. I like Chicken Shack. The food sometimes takes awhile to get because it's cooked to order, but I don't mind much. My knocks on this Chicken Shack are pretty small... first, there's no obvious sign in front of the building if you're heading east towards it. Second, the decor is super dated, but so is the Chicken Shack closer to my house. Actually, the one closer to my house is kind of literally falling apart, but I digress. Great chicken, great sides, "meh" dipping sauces. I thought the ranch was good, but it wasn't in a Chicken Shack container like the others, so it may very well be from Gordon Food Service. If that's the case... hell yeah, Gordon!

Really good place to get a nice greasy, delicious fried chicken meal. Have been here a few times, its one of those places that you just kinda get a craving for. The broasted potatoes are really really good, and swimming in butter, and the chicken is always cooked nicely. They have a few specials, (tub of dark meat) etc, that I think are fairly priced, and you can pick up a 2 liter if that is your thing. Me and my girlfriend are a big fan of chicken shack, its always hot and fresh, and the employees are really nice. We live close, so we always get it fresh and hot. If you are looking for a healthy meal, look elsewhere. BUT, if you want some damn good crispy fried chicken, hit up chicken shack!

Lets talk potatoes. BROASTED potatoes. Not familiar with broasting? Let me explain. You basically pressure deep fry a batch of home cut potatoes until they are crisp and golden brown. THEN you coat them in butter. Did you here me? You deep fry chopped potatoes in a pressure cooker, and then coat them in BUTTER. If that doesn't sound like the most amazing thing you ever heard, go eat a salad. The chicken and ribs are also top notch. But potatoes are to die for.

Break me off a piece of that...chicken leg! Although the place may look like a hovel from the outside, this shack has all the magic happening on the inside! Nestled in the heart of downtown Rochester, off the main drag of upscale restaurants, you will find a cozy little fast food appearing diner called chicken shack. For a fraction of the price of the what you would pay at one of those main street eateries, you could sink your teeth into some of the most succulant chicken and tender ribs anywhere to be found in Rochester. My husband and I come here after a brisk five miler as this shack is located just minutes off the beautiful paint creek trail. The food here is so good, cheap, and abundant enough to feed a family of four that I am tempted to call this funky little shack our "love shack," but that would be too corny. Enjoy!

I had the worst rib and Chicken combo dinner for 6 people and not one of us were happy.The ribs and chicken were very dry.I had ordered the food as a carry out and drove 5 miles to pick it up and didn't realize how bad my order was till we got home.I will never order from the location again.Royal Oaks chicken shack blows the Rochester Hills location out of the water.

Its a hit or miss in this place. But of late, its been barftastic. The oil factor has become more than I can withstand. Not eating here anymore, just completely grossed out.

This the fourth visit to Chicken Shack but this time I ordered the cod fish to go. Biting in to the peice all I got was soggy breading. All I had was a tiny strip of cod. The "Shack Taters" were laying in a pool of grease. Won't have that again.

I've driven by here a few times, and thought I would give this place a shot for a quick dinner last night. I didn't want anything fancy, so I came here. I have to say, this place isn't all that bad, but I wasn't overly impressed. For starters, the wait wasn't to bad, and the place was consistently busy with carry out orders and dine in people as well. I chose to dine in as I had a few other things on my agenda to do last night. The service was fine, and they have daily lunch specials that end at 4PM. Ordered the 3 piece chicken tenders with a side of the potatoes and a drink. After waiting about 15 minutes, my food finally came out, and it was HOT! I went with the BBQ sauce and ranch as side dips, as I like to rotate between both when eating chicken fingers. The BBQ sauce was not very good, and I found it to be bland and flavorless. The ranch was AWESOME! I even dipped my potatoes in it as well! The potatoes were awesome, and were covered in some kind of butter sauce that made them even more awesome. The chicken was okay, but nothing to write home about. I would eat it again, but didn't find it overly impressive. Definitely more of a good greasy meal, but was somewhat underwhelmed when I left.

What an incredibly awful experience from the greasy haired cook to the limp uncooked fries and overly breaded chicken, what a far cry it was from the great meals of our childhood. Wow this place has really gone downhill. During a visit home my 89 year old uncle suggested we try it for old times sake. Boy were we disappointed. Everything went into the trash and we pulled leftovers outbid the freezer. A waste of money and a terrible waste of time and energy. Run in the opposite direction.

Terrible service. Waited 25 minutes for my order while other customers after me received their food. No apology or even a simple I'm sorry. Ordered a simple lunch snack which was entered wrong told this after waiting 10 minutes. Correct oredr put in, yet people after me ordered and received their food 10 minutes before my daughter and I. Not happy when restaurant makes mostake then have to wait after others who came after me get served.

Fyi - they show up if you do a search for delivery, but the BEGINNING of their criteria is that your order is at least $100. So if you're thinking delivery for you and your sweetheart, think again!

The owner has turned this store around for the better. Service is fantastic and the workers are always welcoming. Food is always made fresh and is made to perdection. Potatoes are amazing. My suggestion is the Cod.
