Very good service, excellent food with large portions. I tend to get the pad prik with Chicken spiced hot. They make sure it is definitely hot. I have never had any gristle with my chicken and little fat. The sauce is different than I was used to but no Thai restaurant seems to have the same recipe for its dishes so I think it best to check the ingredients before ordering to make sure it is compatible with what you want rather than assume it is going to be the same.

The food is very good, but medium spice is rather hot. Decor is nice, but not too fancy. The servers are mostly foreign and language is sometimes a problem. Overall a positive experience.

F-ing DISGUSTING!! I have been here twice and have heard testimonials from several friends... this place is terrible! There is another Bangkok Cuisine in Clinton Twp which is where I'm from and their food is fantastic. When I came here the waitress was in a terrible mood, all of our chicken dishes had gristle in them, and the plates & glasses were all dirty. The first time I thought this was just a bad day but it happened again a month later. I have heard the same story from three or four friends and I really have no idea how this place is still open. I live downtown and every time I drive by there is nobody eating inside. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again.

This place was really good the first time I tried it, but after that-bland overpriced and under spiced.Gave it three more times the last few weeks and seems the ownership could care less.I see that their prices continue to rise as the quality diminishes. I had the Pad Kow Pode and almost vomited on the chunks of fat my meat possessed. The other location is better on Garfield but their quality has taken a hit too. I'm learning to make my own Thai now, good luck.

I came here for a late lunch on a midweek afternoon. I was seated quickly and given a menu, a glass of iced water, a bowl of chips/crackers and a bowl of hot soup. The entree followed quickly and was delicious. The service was fast and attentive. Perfect!

Yummy Thai food coming out of here!! I've been coming here for years. They have a building right next to Dari Queen in Rochester. It's in a prime location. The food here is Dynamo! We usually get the Pad Thai with chicken and the Gang Kewn Warn. All the ingredients are fresh and the hot sauce is always consistently in the right range. The soup is included with your meals. We get the hot and sour soup. Excellent! They have great service too. Always willing to fill up your glass, get your soup out quickly and make sure all is well too! We can't wait to get back in here or for carry out too.

Awesome Thai food! Great pad Thai and so much more. Service is great and you get plenty of food for the price. Definitely would recommend going for dinner or lunch on any given day. Always have had a great experience.

Best Thai food in the metro Detroit area! Been going to Bangkok Cuisine for over 10 years now. Have tried several items from the menu over the years but my favorites are the Pad Thai with chicken and the Pad Se Ew with beef. I have gone to other Thai places and none of them are as good as Bangkok Cusine.

We came in on a Friday evening and received excellent service. We had our one and half year old son with us and our waitress was very thoughtful. She brought us a styrofoam cup with a lid and straw of water for our little man and we didn't even have to ask. So many times our little one is over looked. He likes water too! It was nice to not have to ask. When dinner was about to be served she gave us a baby spoon and small plate so he could eat too! Thank you for the great hospitality. We are also always very happy with our food. Tom Yum soup is our favorite soup. Lots of flavor. I highly recommend it.

Bangkok Cuisine was and continues to be my favorite Thai restaurant since I moved to the area in the 1990's. Their Hot & Sour Soup is second to none. The dishes I order most often are the Gang Garee, a delicious yellow curry/ coconut milk/ potatoes with chicken and Neauyang Namprik Pow, thinly sliced barbecued beef in Thai chili sauce. Both of these are phenomenal! My wife favors the Pad Prik with shrimp. Portions are generous. We always eat until we are full and have enough for another meal.

This is my favorite place to get my chicken pad thai. They make it amazingly fast, the price is decent and it's very consistent. The people at the counter are friendly, understandable and helpful.

My 2nd fav Thai in Rochester. Have eaten here dozens of times over the course of many years. They have a good selection of nice tasting dishes, and they consistently deliver exactly what I'm looking for every time I go. Highly recommend their spicy Fish (fried catfish) with egg plant. OMG that is such a good dish - I could eat that every night.

Let me be clear that this review stands for this location only! For years, this, shit hole of a restaurant has been serving up what I would consider the worst "Thai Food" I've ever ingested and my last visit insured that I shall never return. Let me start by informing those not in the know, that this place at one time was revered as one of the better Thai restaurants in the area. Well, that may have been true, in some long forgotten age, but in my last 10 years of sporadic visits, I have never found this to be the case. My review here is based on my last visit over the weekend. I can start off by telling you that at about 7 or so PM on a Saturday night, this place was completely dead, except for the party of wait staff, cooks and dishwashers who essentially take up residence at a giant table in the back, out in the open while you are eating. Lots of laughing it up and rough housing and having a good time while you choke down their nasty "food". No joke, every employee in the place was having a grand old time laughing and slap boxing and dicking around when they should be cleaning up the place and fixing all the broken nasty crap in the joint. Can you tell how irritated I get when a place is a dump? I was suckered into going here because of a Groupon. I will also let you know that this filth pit is a former, original, ancient Elias brothers Big Boy restaurant, that, aside from some glossy black paint on the decrepit looking cedar shake roofing tiles that hang strangely inside the restaurant, little else has been done other than a few randomly placed Asian tchotchkes' here and there to make it look "Oriental" or anything else other than its former self, a shitty Big Boy. That being said, if you are familiar with the old Big boys, you know the interior... Dingy looking, brown restaurant tile floor, brick atrium/sun room with dusty hanging plants and filthy old sun screen blinds. Crazy mismatched, filthy gold tone lighting fixtures with burned out lights in each. This especially irks me... If the lights burn out, fucking replace them! This isn't your house, it's a business that you expect people to give you money to patronize. Holy crap! Not only was I greeted to a (and I shit you not) propane lit heater INSIDE the restaurant pointing on the cashier desk, because apparently there is no heat or a giant draft problem; but also over time, it seems that as lights burn out, they are no longer replaced. So when you go in, you essentially have what looks like a Freddy Kruger basement looking lighting scheme. It's insane that this place is still here. It should be torn down, because I am sure that with all the gross shit I can see, there is probably twice as much that I cannot see! Anyway, on with the show! The booths are so old and filthy that all the padding has dry rotted. This is nasty on its own because you can see every sickening stain on the black Harvard cloth like material covering the seats, but what's even better is that they are so old and rotted that when you sit down or bump the seat backs, you are treated to a magic show where puffs of the decomposed material waifs out in tufts of nasty "smoke"! It really is that kind of gross up in this piece. The restrooms are SUPER filthy and freezing. The setup is so incredible, you should really go check it out. The soap dispenser, which is the most common type that requires you to place your hand below it and pump with the palm is so effing close to the sink, the back of your hand could possibly get stuck between while trying to get soap out! So if you are a fatty, bring your own soap! Not that you will have any better luck because at the same time, the hanging urinal pisser is literally on top of the sink and there is no way you will fit to wash your hands! You could stand in the wall wizzer and use the sink, it's that effin close, and if you are in a wheel chair? Forget it! Bring you some handy wipes because you are not using this bathroom. But even if you do manage to wash your hands, you will be met with ICE COLD water from the "hot" side of the sink. Now on to the food... Salt. That's really all that needs to be said about it. The food is overly salty and bland. I believe the use of salt is to cover up the poor quality ingredients used. Pad Ce Eww is never sweet, the potato dishes are salty and have no flavor. The peanuts they use always taste stale. I always felt that the food never tasted authentic in any way, and I found out why. People can argue with me and say whatever they want but nothing will ever change my opinion that this place is the worst, most unauthentic garbage Thai in Michigan. I strongly urge you, if you are even thinking of arguing with me about this, go to the restaurant on a Saturday night and just peek in the kitchen. After doing that, if you can still maintain a straight face and at the same time tell me that this is an authentic Thai restaurant, more power to ya! I'm done talking about this place. It sucks and it sickens me.

I have been going to this location for several years. I love how they are opening up more if these in metro Detroit along with Bangkok Express. I am Vegetarian and live their tofu. I tend to always get the vegetable curry tofu. But have been stepping out of comfort zone as of late. I bought the cookbook the owner made... But prefer when they make it for me.

I first began going to Rexi's Bangkok Cuisine Royal Oak, but it closed. This location is nice - it's always quiet, and never really crowded with a consistent flow of people. I usually order the nong tong to start. The Pad Thai is good, but the Bangkok Chicken has to be their signature meal. It is perfection. The only negative is the lack of appetizer options. There are only a few and I've been to several Thai restaurants which offer more.

We ate here last evening using a groupon coupon. It started with complimentary house soup which my husband had & I chose the hot & sour soup. Mine was quite good, but the other soup was way too salty. We ordered 2 dishes, an eggplant with rice & the noodle dish was pad se ew. Both dishes were decent, good sized portions & spicy. The one thing that I really disliked about the restaurant was that the ventilation was horrible inside. With the endless nonstop cooking, you could see a film of oil mist hovering the ceilings, even very apparent when you walk in. I will probably eat here again, but it most likely will be take out next time.

I love this place!! Not chicago level Thai food, but good Thai food. You know they are doing something right if they have multiple locations. They even have a cookbook found at your local library or you can purchase in store. Bonus points that it contains meekrob or meekrop. Too bad that is not on the menu. Free soup and shrimp chips with your meal. I usually stick with pad see ew, massaman, or pad thai....I love they give you a spice kit to kick it up or add extra peanuts.....I would pass on the pineapple curry....no basil in it and hot pepper thai in waterford makes it right. The builing is weird....we usually sit in the "greenhouse" type room..... We always have plenty of left overs. Just be aware they are not very consistant on the heat.

The best Thai food I have had. The prices are best for lunch on a weekday. They know what "spicy" means. I ordered hot my first time there and my pad thai was glowing red. It was delicious, but also sweat inducing. Also, try the spring rolls with the peanut sauce; they are absolutely on point.

The food is great! I've been to other Bangkok Cuisine restaurants and this one is by far the best and most consistent with quality.

I love this place because when I order something "extra hot," they don't give me medium. They give me extra f*&^ing hot. I feel this is a rare thing when I order Thai food. I've had their curries and noodle dishes, all are pretty average and satisfying. If you dine in you get the yummy chips before your meal. Bangkok is good, but not to my stomach. Every time I've eaten here, my stomach has felt terrible afterwards. But that won't stop me from coming back!

Our favorite option for Thai. Pad Thai, Pad Se-ew, Bangkok chicken, etc. These are our favorite dishes. The hot and sour soup is pretty good too.

Great food! Had the lettuce wrap, pad thai, fried rice, and beef and broccoli. Everything was delicious besides the beef and broccoli it was too saucy and the beef was very rough. Other then that, I will be returning.

All time favorite Thai restaurant. The food is made to order and the waitstaff is always so fast and attentive. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, and you also get free hot and sour soup and shrimp chips!

I decided to give Bangkok Cuisine another shot after my six year ban of the place. Thank you Groupon. I frequent the sister location in Sterling Heights. The Rochester location has never compared. I decided to order the same thing as I would the Sterling Heights location since the menu was the same. Even the prices. The Tom Yum soup was delicous except for the unedible pieces of tree branches and leaves (lemongrass?). The lettuce wraps were delicious! Very moist and full of that wonderful lettuce wrap sauce (dark brown). My gang garee (potato in curry) with shrimp (they were out of scallops) was a little too spicy for 'medium'. I must have given the waitress the 'make it hot' eyes. Everything was going good until I waited, then asked, then waited, for my bill. It took me 25 minutes from the time I was done eating to receive my bill. Then I went up to pay, and the 6 year old behind the counter just sat there. He said he just sweeps and picks up tips. Finally his mother came out and took my money. This was a great reminder on why I only get carry out from here and do not eat in. The edible food was great. I like the same menu from Sterling Heights. But I really didn't have an hour and a half to spend in a restaurant this evening. Next time I'm craving Gang Garee Ill get take out.

We were starved after a long day of Math Pentathlon at nearby Stony Creek HS. Thanks to Groupon we stopped in to give this place a try. Service was prompt & friendly, bathrooms fairly clean. Ordered the Masaman curry & pad pak. Each came with a hot & sour soup and shrimp chips. The daughter did a great job on the chips, her favorite part! Soup was a bit too thick but decent flavor. The dishes were just ok. The pad pak was missing that sweet dimension I've grown to love from my favorite Thai place, instead just salty. Doctored up the leftovers at home & it was much improved. First time to order the masaman, it was OK, texture of the potatoes were a bit soft and it was also a bit too salty. I also like the peanut curry from my favorite Thai place better. With my family there couldn't get my usual 2x extra hot, wife thought 'medium' was pretty toasty but I could definitely have gone hotter. The wait staff was great with the water refills & shrimp chip refills and also quick with the check. We'll try the Sterling Heights location next to see how it compares.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. The interior is nice enough, but not fantastic. I would recommend sitting in one of the booths near the window, that side of the restaurant is more inviting. The staff is accommodating and timely. I've tried a number of dishes and never been disappointed with my meal. That said, I do tend to stick with my favorite (Drunken Noodle) which is delicious. The Pad Thai is also good, and my girlfriend loves the Pad Prik King with tofu. The food is quite spicy (medium is hot enough for most people) and the portion sizes are large. If you're in Rochester or the surrounding area I would recommend this place.

I'm giving Bangkok Cuisine 4 stars, but only in comparison to other Thai restaurants I have been to in S.E. Michigan. I have been here probably a couple dozen times in the past 2 years, so that probably tells you something. The food here is usually pretty good. The portions are big, even this big man has plenty of leftovers after eating a meal here. The service is friendly too. I have minor gripes about the inconsistency of the spice "heat" levels. Once I had Medium spicy that was crazy intense hot and on my next visit I had Mild Plus come out very bland and not spicy at all etc... I like spicy food but I don't like my meal to be a battle to get down so I order Mild + or Medium if I'm feeling adventurous, they also have a condiment tray that you can ask for that has more ground chili spice, and crushed peanuts if you want to kick it up a notch. They raised the prices too, but what can I say about that, gas and food costs go up as well, it only figures. I tend to order the same things over and over again at Thai restaurants, my favorites here are the; "Masaman", Chicken, Peanuts, onions, potatoes in a Masaman curry and coconut milk. It's very rich and on the salty side. "Pad SE-EW" Chicken, Sautéed thick rice noodles, eggs, and broccoli. This is in a dark sweet soy like sauce, it's yummy. "Bangkok Chicken" Lightly breaded chicken sautéed with sweet & sour sauce, and topped with green onion. This one is sort of like a Indo Chinese version of General Tso's. The chicken is cut small and probably dredged in cornstarch before hitting the fryer, it's really crispy. The Pad Thai here is ok too, I have had better and much worst. Anyways, go on in and give it a try, hope you enjoy it as much as I do :) btw, this place looks like it used to be a Big Boy back in the day. They also have several locations and have their own cookbook for sale.

Blah, of all the Thai restaurants that I've eaten at over the course of the past year (and I was on a Thai rampage for a lot of it), this place has got to be the worst. I ordered my typical Chicken Panang Curry, and it just did not hold up. It wasn't the sweet and spicy, coconutty deliciousness that I have grown used too, it was just salty...and that's about it. After this meal, I came to a final conclusion--I will NEVER find a Chicken Panang Curry as wonderful as they serve as Cambodian Thai in South Bend--and I've been to 10-15 Thai restaurants trying to find it. One saving grace, my girlfriends fried rice was super good--although it may just have tasted extra good because mine was so awful.

This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I have friends who have moved away, and make it a major point of their visits to the state to stop here for lunch. Pros: Huge portions - once I add rice to any of the curry dishes, it's usually enough to eat 'til I'm stuffed, then take the rest home for the rest of the day. Great taste - I have yet to find a restaurant here or anywhere else that makes Thai food like these folks do, they're the only place I've found so far that actually cooks the potatoes COMPLETELY in a Masaman dish. Service - we've never had slow service here, and I've never lacked water (a pet peeve of mine). Cons: As someone else mentioned, the spice level can be somewhat inconsistent. I usually get mine Medium, it'll range anywhere from a mild-plus to a medium-plus - you won't burn yourself or be completely disappointed, but you can definitely tell what mood the chef's in! The location also used to be a fast-food restaurant, and you can tell - it's clean and well-taken-care-of, but it's not exactly lavish or creatively decorated.

Really disappointing. I got one of the fried rice dishes (#14) and steamed broccoli with peanut sauce (#32). The predominant flavor in the fried rice was salt, while the steamed dish was thin and sugar sweet. Nothing complex or interesting in the flavors of either dish. Please remind me not to go back.

Great thai food. If you like egg-plant, try the pad mahker. Mmmmm delicious!

This is by far the best thai food I have ever had. Whenever I am in Rochester I always order the Pad Se-Ew tofu with medium spice. It is great to eat there or take home. The service is also very fast. Lunch comes with soup and shrimp chips. If it is your first time eating here I recommend only ordering medium spice -- anything above is very spicy!

Bangkok Cuisine has got to be the best Thai restaurant I know of. I have tried Thai on Main in Royal Oak and another Thai restaurant on 16 and Rochester and both were not as good. Both were more pricey and did not offer free Hot n Sour soup and both their food was not as spicy. My family and I always get carryout from here which is very easy to do and is amazing, as well as me and a friend get lunch here sometimes. Wait staff is very nice and polite, the food is excellent, free Hot n Sour soup is served, and the restaurant has a very nice feel of Thai culture to it. Lunch is cheaper then dinner with dinner starting at around 4 or 5 I believe and my lunch with my dish, soup, and drink is always $9 and fills me up for the rest of the day. Defiantly a must try for any Thai lovers.

This is one of the better Thai restaurants in the area. It's located in downtown Rochester, a gorgeous view from the window and the perfect place to go for lunch when you want to take a walk downtown, the park, or need a bite to eat. The food here is excellent. Sure it isn't the greatest Thai restaurant in Michigan but it comes very close. The wait staff are very friendly though they seem to always be doing their own thing in the back or at the tables near the kitchen. They serve hot and sour soup with each meals, which is very good. They also give shrimp chips when you dine in as well. So far, have never had any problems with them. Their food is great, reasonably priced and the proportions are great as well. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area.

This is the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. I went at least every month for about four years, and since I've moved away I've made a point of going to Bangkok Cuisine every time I go to Rochester. Among my favorite dishes are the Pad Se-Ew, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Lettuce Wraps, and the Thai Iced Tea is always good. Going at lunch is better than going at dinner- free soup and cheaper entrees! It is a little crowded at lunch. Service is always fast, too!
