This is a good neighborhood standby. However, even as a standby, it's never busy, even when we go on a Fri or Sat night between 11pm -2am in the middle of the summer when most people are there at their lake cabins. The staff is friendly, drinks are inexpensive, they serve decent food, and they have several pool tables that are in pretty decent shape. I honestly don't know what the owners can do to turn it around, but I'm honestly amazed it's still there after seeing it basically empty time after time. If you live in the Portage area, visit them. As long as you don't go there to look for lobsters and high end menu items like that, you'll be ok.
