Nothing about Plymouth Crossing feels generic. It definitely has a somewhat outdated look to it. I guess that's what made me like it for the first 10 minutes as I sipped my wine. Prices are reasonable. Dinner for two with two cocktails and you're out the door for less than $60. Their main entrees are good to great. When it's 60 degrees outside (or more) and not raining, the patio is a nice escape too. If I was 16 and going to prom, I'd love to have dinner there. If I was 66 and celebrating my anniversary I'd love to have dinner there. But I'm 43 and just hanging with my hubby for a nice night out. We very much enjoy having dinner there.

I tried to go here last night-- the place is closed indefinitely. They say it is for renovations. I hope that they do not change what has always been so great about this place.

We had dinner there and it was very good. The seafood chowder was excellent and the vegetable florentine soup was good ---the spinach was overlooked though. I had the French dip and it was good. The fresh horseradish and good au jus made the sandwich especially good. My wife said the caesar salad wrap with chicken was very good---lots of tender chicken. Service was excellent. I would rate it 3.5 if I could!

This place was totally empty at 7:45pm on a Tuesday night, save for 4 people at the bar watching a baseball game. The server told us we were only his second table that night. I can definitely see this place attracting an older clientele. The interior is very 90's suburban - a bit dated, but has exposed brick and some modern-ish mass-produced art to give it a slightly more contemporary feel. The food was of decent quality. We didn't dislike anything that we had, but weren't wowed by it, either. Everything I had lacked seasoning (I'm not a fan of salt, but I mean ANY seasoning would've been welcome - pepper, garlic, etc.) - perhaps to cater to an older customer base? The filet was very simple, and served with mashed potatoes and crunchy green beans. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced - cocktails and wine, too. Parking was easy; although coming out at night, the parking lot was not well lit. It's not my style, but if you're hungry and want to take grandma to a nice dinner, or meet friends at the bar for drinks, this would be a solid place to do so. I don't think it's a date night place - unless you're over 50.

This is my favorite place to eat in Plymouth! The business is never really booming and I am not sure why... Everything is good from the food, to the service, to the wine! Any meal I have had here I was always pleased. And the one time I got a bad glass of wine they opened a whole new bottle. They aim to please here!

Kind of 2.5 stars, but I'm being nice and rounding up. First thing on the table was a bread basket... good start. The garlic herb butter olive oily whatever stuff on top was pretty delicious. It was also pretty messy, but worth it. I got the clam chowder and the surf and turf for linner. Dinner. I don't know, I guess it was dinner. Basically, the clam chowder is the best I've had in Michigan. I'm used to having some grit in the clams, but this was one of the first times I didn't get any -- huge plus. Additionally, the soup wasn't too thick, wasn't too salty, and was just really tasty stuff. The surf and turf was okay. The steak was cooked to my liking and had a good taste, but it was cold... as a matter of fact, none of the food any of us (a group of six) got was hot. Most of it was luke-warm. The vegetables that came with our meals (broccoli and zucchini) were only partially cooked, and pretty cold. The same can be said for the mashed potatoes. I thought those were pretty tasty, but yeah... basically room temperature. Nonetheless, I ate my whole meal. My mom wasn't nearly as impressed and thought the food was way overpriced. She told the server lady person that she wasn't really enjoying her meal, and the wound up getting a free dessert. The service was excellent, but the food was mediocre... especially for the price. I'd rather go to a Texas Roadhouse and get an, in my opinion, better steak for a cheaper price. I will say that the "surf" part of my meal (the shrimp) was actually WARM and the highlight of the dish. The clam chowder was still definitely my favorite thing. About 3 stars for the food (factoring in the price) and about 5 for the exceptional service. Service isn't the thing that brings me into a restaurant though... and for the price of this place, I'd sooner go somewhere else. Damn... what a boring review. No humor. I need to step up my game.

Where has this place been all my life? Or maybe the better question - how have I missed this place for so long?! Hubby and I stumbled upon this on our way back from a couple's massage at the Plymouth Wellness Center, and we were in the mood for a relaxing, indulgent experience. The Plymouth Crossing scratched that itch in spades. Our hostess was extremely knowledgeable, and very accommodating. She recommended the 10.99 (on Wednesdays) prime rib, and we chose that along with the surf and turf. Both were delicious and prepared to the temperature ordered - which is rare. But I'm skipping ahead... For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp cocktail and the steak bites. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were enormous and perfectly prepared, with the "squeak" texture that characterizes perfectly done shrimp. And the steak bites were good, made excellent by the perfectly seasoned, meaty, flavorful au-jus. Being an indulgent night, we did not leave without dessert, house made by their "dessert girl" who comes in every morning to prepare that day's selections. Hubby had strawberry cheesecake, creamy and fruity; I had creme brulee, which was respectable - not the very best I've ever had, but with a nice texture and good flavor. The decor is a bit outdated, but in a quaint, "this place has been here forever", comfortable sort of way. With drinks (2 beers for him, 3 glasses of wine for me), apps, entrees, and dessert, our tab, with tip, came to 99.95 - a very good value in my mind.

They have gutted this place, the heart and soul is gone. Went for lunch on a Friday, the chef is gone, the hostess gone and our favorite waitstaff has disappeared for greener pastures. One taste and I am gone too. The chowder was disgusting, portions are so small and there are no specials anymore. The poor waitress confided to us that there have been plenty of complaints from most all of the regular patrons, not just us. I doubt I will be back. So sad really.

No bleu cheese means NO BLUE CHEESE. I clearly, politely, and twice asked to NOT have any blue cheese, so of course my meal was smothered in blue cheese. The guy didn't bother with bringing a bread basket, a table next to me got one. I walked out, never to return.

I am not a fan of chain restaurants, especially steakhouses. So when I tried this place, I was very excited. Their filet is outstanding, and the chef cooked it perfectly. The service is awesome, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I enjoy sitting in the bar area, but I think I will sit outside next time. It is a great getaway when I'm not in the mood for the noisy bar scene.

Went there for the first time to celebrate an old friend's arrival back in Plymouth. I'd never been in before, so I figured "why not".. We got there late, so we didn't order food, but the Bartender was great. He even made us up a new creation drink called "SD coffee"....SD?, well you just had to be there. The bartender did say they were throwing out the old "stuffy" menu, and coming up with a whole new plan. I checked the website, and the menu did not seem new, and since the previous poster mentioned a burger [not on online menu?], I have to believe the website has not been updated. I like the place, just have to get in for a bite!

I went here last night because some friends were going and one of my friends is the bartender there. This place isn't crowded on a Tuesday night. Everyone pretty much knows each other by name. It's the local watering hole for many. They used to have a special collection of Red Stripe beers for me but I haven't been there in a while so they stopped carrying it. I ordered the white wine instead. I ordered the burger which was suppose to be a half-pound but I think it was closer to a pound. It was cooked medium like I wanted and it was delicious. My wife had the French Dip which was the recommended sandwich there and she loved it. There was also a white bean soup that was okay as well. There's WiFi here so don't be afraid to bring your laptop. You'll see other patrons on their laptops as well. At the end of the night, I was comped my 2 wines because my birthday was yesterday. Also, the bartender cleaned off my car since it started snowing pretty bad. Thanks guys. I like the Cheers-like atmosphere here.

I received a $10 coupon in the mail for The Plymouth Crossing. I drive by here all the time and haven't tried it yet. I looked on YELP to see if anyone has reviewed it, but no hits. So, I took this opportunity to try it out for y'all! The Crossing is just outside the main downtown area, by the railroad tracks. The restaurant is tucked in a historic brick building with a front patio. There are two entrances to the place. My fiancé and I were lucky enough to choose the wrong entrance. The wait staff seemed a little confused, but we made it to our table okay... I ordered the Chicken Tuscany. Drizzled with a lemon caper sauce, but I didn't taste the lemons or the capers. -shrug-. The meat was also a little dry. My fiancé ordered the steak with scallops. and oh my! Those scallops were thick and had an oh so velvety texture. I'd come back solely for those scallops! Service was good. Very personable. Breadbasket was tasty. Got that garlic-butter sheen on top. Yum. They have all you can eat crab leg Tuesdays. I think I'd come here again.

Sat at the bar. I was with my mother. But we are experienced. The bartender was, as well, as we had had some stressful stuff go down and we came here to chill. The drinks were poured in lovely fashion, and strong, but tasted like classic cocktails. Atmosphere nice. Ordered some fish and chips and split it so we had something to wash down with our drinks. Ordered a Malbec. Bartender let us taste. It made my mother so happy and me too. It was a little quiet in there for a Wed. night but kind of perfect for our visit, not hip trendy loud and overpriced. Just a really good spot. Will return for the classic bar, excellent bartender, friendly atmosphere and that old school Michigan roadhouse type menu. I mean, it's seriously something to treasure.
