Hermann’s Olde Town Grille Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I had a burger here on a Wednesday night. The burger and fries were excellent,, one of the best bar burgers I've had. Jamie the bartender was very accommodating and gracious enough to stop and chat with me and my buddy. I will definitely go back.

Hermann's or as we refer to it -the Moose Bar, has a fun casual atmosphere. If you just want to grab some food and some beer with your friends, maybe play some pool, catch a game and just hang out -Hermann's is the best place in Plymouth. Service is good even on busier nights, food is good, beers are reasonably priced and we always have a good time here. There is a game room with pool tables, stand-up arcade games and darts. The bar gets crowded and sometimes it's hard to find a table, or get into the game room, but overall this is a cool little bar.

Hermann's is our favorite place to go in Plymouth. Service is always outstanding! The staff is very friendly. The food is great. I have never ordered anything I did not like. Their daily specials are always great too. The beer selection is probably the best in Plymouth with rotating Michigan taps (mostly Bell's). They are very accommodating for large groups on short notice. It is very smoky, but May 1st that will change. I highly recommend this place!

A friend of mine lives near Hermann's. He never spoke fondly of his Plymouth hangouts, but he did bring me to Hermann's for some drinks and debauchery. Hermann's debauchery is a treat because they take the idea of the pint glass to a whole new level. They serve their mixed drinks in a pint glass for four bucks. Two of those babies and you are set for some summer fun or winter wind down. Ahhh.

This will always and forever be known to my friends and family as "Lowertown", which was the restaurant's name under a previous owner. This is the perfect place to have a birthday gathering, or meet up with old friends you haven't seen in awhile. This place is almost always busy on the weekends, and especially busy around holidays. I love the fact that there are several pool tables, a buffalo head on the wall that moves with the music on the jukebox, and touch screen/video poker machines to keep you occupied while you're waiting for a table. Best bar in downtown Plymouth, hands down.

Loved the food. Beef bites were wonderful. Had the plain but they also come in Cajun and another but forgot it. Also had some chicken quesadea and a spinach dip - all excellent. It is a sports bar but wish they had place to set up for quiet conversation. It is worth it for the food.

I agree with most posts. This place has great food and a great beer selection. However, when it is crowded it is smoky and annoying. So depends on what you are looking for and when you go. Suprisingly veggie-friendly menu for a bar!

Hey...Hermann's is a cool place. The place can get jammed! The staff is really good, with 1 exception...I won't name her, but she was supposed to be my server a few months ago and I walked out! Anyway...she's one in the whole place, don't hold that against them! Hermann's is decorated with all kinds of cool junk. A huge moose head hangs over the bar that nods up and down as long as somebody remembers to turn it on. Really cool signs, toys and other stuff everywhere. I never get tired of looking at it. Even a model C-47 hangs from the ceiling. Yes, I know...you're picturing a Bennigan's...no, not the same! I've had the burgers and the pizza. You won't be disappointed by either of them. They have many beers on tap as well as my old stand by, PBR. No longer served in a paper bag, however...I liked that touch! Hermann's attracts many different kinds of people, including many bikers on their way through Plymouth. Everyone always seems to get along quite well. I've made a number of friends there, of course if you're associating with me, well...what can I say... I must question your judgement! Check the place out. You'll like it. Tell everyone I said Hello! (They may look at you a little differently if you admit knowing me, but hey)

The service is great at the bar. Table service is hit or miss. Food quality seems to have really gone down hill in the last few months. Pizza and nachos were overcooked to the point of being burned. 2 weeks ago our GFS calzones came out cold in the middle. Oh Lowertown, I love you I really do, but please do something about the food quality. Otherwise this is our favorite local bar. *UPDATE* We were charged extra for the Ranch dressing we requested to manage consumption of said burned pizza. We were comped a round of beers but charged full price for the burned food. The beers were fine. Why not comp the bad food instead? We brought these issues to our server twice. No manager checked in with us during our visit.

This a great place to watch a game & grab some food & drink. Besides a nice beer & alcohol selection, they have your standard bar foods. Additionally, they have some standout offerings like sweet potatoe fries & fish tacos. Most impressive for me was that when I inquired about MSG being in any foods (i have a super sensitivity to it!) not only did the chef look stuff up online to ensure the brand of taco seasoning was safe, but they brought out the spice containers for my review. They were more thorough than some of my family, in making sure I could eat the food! This kind of effort alone makes them exceptional. We will go back to watch another game in the future.

Absolute worst place to go . Food is way over priced for basic bar food . Beers are more expensive then any other restaurant at bar in the area . Staff is very unfriendly and very Unprofessional, management is a bunch of kids, that treat they're Patrons with little respect... restaurant is very unclean , I was insulted by one waitstaff member, I would recommend to anyone... I will never go back..

Excellent chicken wings and pan pizza. They have a decent selection of craft beers as well as my favorite hard cider (JK Scrumpy). Came up here with a friend to watch the Lions game on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was attentive and friendly. It has that corner bar feeling but nicer then your typical corner bar.

We were looking for something in or near Plymouth that had some vegan or even vegetarian options and good beer. We decided to stop at Hermann's on a Thursday night about 10:00pm. Parking was easy. First surprise was being carded outside, just thought the guy was hanging out. :) Inside was crushed with people but we got lucky and found a table. It was so loud you could hardly have a conversation. TVs everywhere. The place is also a bit of a hipsterville...beards everywhere. :) Getting our food order taken was a little slow and we were a little hungry, so that was not good. The server when she did come over, seemed stressed out, but relaxed after a minute. But the important things... beer. I settled on a great black IPA that was very tasty. I ordered the veggie pizza, hold the cheese. It was quite good. The main negative was just the noise level... maybe that appeals to a younger crowd? Hey... get off my lawn!

Very friendly staff, comfortable environment, and good crowd. Never any nonsense when I've been here. They pour good drinks, and have a good beer selection. Also, their chicken tenders are AMAZING. No joke. Love this place!

Waitress kept forgetting stuff and took forever to bring anything. Serves warms shots. Even after I mentioned the first ones were warm they brought me another warm shot. Unreal.

Hermann's is our go-to spot after work. It's close, never too busy to find a seat, and decent food & drinks. Parking can be tricky sometimes, but I think it's a little easier to find a spot in this area versus the downtown Plymouth area. It's also hard to miss with the giant drooling moose painted on the side of the building. I mostly stop in for beer, but once in awhile I'll order food. In my opinion, it's pretty standard for bar food. The seasoned fries are good, which is always important to me. The beer selection is decent. They usually rotate a couple, and have some seasonal beers. Drink specials are pretty good too. During the summer, they have outdoor seating, which is also usually available. The service tends to be a little slower out there though.

I've been here several times but never reviewed it...not sure why. Oh well, moving on I can say one thing for sure....it's 100 times better now that there's no smoking! Before it was hard to breath let alone relax and enjoy a meal! I love this place because every where you look there's a tv making it a great place to catch a Wings game!! The food is way above average for bar food. Some of my fav's are: fish & chips, pizza, salads and they have great soups (yes, soup at a bar). Give the place a try...it just might become your favorite hang-out.

Our bachelorette party had dinner here on a Saturday. We had a reservation and they were ready for us when we arrived. I think that overall they did a great job managing our 15 large group, many of whom had been partaking in pre-party beverages. Our drink orders/appetizers were taken immediately and the food order in a respectable time afterwards. The appetizers seemed to be of the pretty-standard bar variety. I had a mozzarella stick from a friend's order (as it turned out it was good that I only had one, more on this later), which was pretty much what you would expect. I ordered the beer cheese soup. It was disappointing, if you are not able to do this well there is no point of it being on the menu. It was a very mild beer cheese and seemed to have some sort of filler (maybe too much chicken stock) with some small, cubed vegetables floating around. My friend ordered it as well, and she was the only person in our group to have a problem, and hers never made it to the table. Based on mine she did not mind and it was not on her bill. When all the meals came out there was only one issue. The same friend had her burger come with everything that she asked to be taken off, including the special sauce. The waitress immediately went and put the order in again. The next burger came out...and again had the sauce. At this point she had two bags of better made chips in front of her and the rest of us were mostly through our meals. Third time is a charm, and the last one came out as ordered. At this point she was barely hungry anymore. They did take it off the bill. I'm sure the staff did not intentionally pick on her, she just had some bad luck. On the positive side the rest of us enjoyed our food. The manager bought our bride a shot and treated her well. I had the burger with fried egg and bacon. Given the situation, I ended up eating it with a fork as it was messy. While the burger was a bit more done than ordered, it was still a solid burger. I'm not a big fan of better made chips (yup, grumble) but I am a fan of sweet potato fries. Theirs were crinkle cut AND it came with the sweet potato fry sauce, as it should, but many places do not (ketchup is for regular fries). It was good that there were plenty of fries as they ended up as a shared item. The waitress bought out separated bills and took care of them quickly given our size.

Solid food menu. Good variety of beers both craft and schwaggy. Reasonable prices with solid service. Tons of regulars but welcoming to all.

The Pub burger was good, the humans was great. Jamie J, the bar tender was terrible. She was more interested in hooking up with the guy from whole foods than actually tending bar.

This is a stand by place for us... When it doubt go to Hermann's. Not a big fan of their pizza, but I love their sandwiches and quesadillas. The homemade sauce for their sweet potato fries is dynamite.

Still a four, but an... upper four? It's been a few years since I've been here. Has this place always had a vomit and musk smell when you first walk in? Not exactly a great first impression. Alright, whatever -- I came here with a pretty big table full of people at about 5:30 on a Friday, before they got very busy. I decided to get the Regal burger, and holy hell I'm glad I did. The bun they use is grilled, tasty, and slightly sweet. The half pound burger is, uh, half a pound, and was cooked medium/medium rare like I asked. Good Lord, the burger was juicing everywhere. The bacon, egg, burger, bun... all of it was excellent. My only gripe with this place (and it's slight) is that it's slightly more expensive than many other bars, at least as far as the food is concerned. I didn't drink when I was here, so I don't remember the prices on that, but the burger and a small bag of Better Made potato chips was $9.50. Subbing fries or something would cost two or three bucks extra. $10 seems to be the standard for a half pound burger and fries at most places, so Hermann's isn't too far off -- but since the quality of the food here is so good, I'm fine with that dollar-or-so upcharge. One knock is that the service could have been a little bit better, and they need to clean their ice machine or something, because someone at our table had a black chunk of mold in his water -- mm, tasty. All-in-all, it's a bit dumpy, but the food is excellent, and there's a decent beer list for those interested in craft beer (LIKE ME!). One of the few places in Plymouth worth frequenting.

Great food. My friends and I have been going here every Monday night for years (we're the mountain bike crew). The specials can be interesting/great and their normal food is always solid. Probably the best bar nachos you'll ever have. Other highlights are salads, Pizza's, and burgers. Beer selection is great with a bunch of Michigan brews. Wait times vary depending on how busy they get. They have Trivia at 9PM on Mondays, plus they have a ton of TVs locked to sports, so during big games, it can get really busy in there.

Love the atmosphere and service, but food can be hit or miss and a bit steep $$ OTG Burger... DELICIOUS!!! Cooked to perfection $8 - no fries hubs was quite happy. Nacho supreme - a beautiful sight to behold, but fell quite short :( huge pile of chips and a mountain of lettuce, but sparse, so sparse with cheese, beef...no ooey, cheesy, messy, straight to your arse type nachos. :) it came with a tablespoon of salsa and sour cream. Seriously? Lol so I had some damn expensive tortilla chips with my beer! Baked potato soup was da'bomb!!! Wish I would have skipped nachos and just had a bowl of soup. We're slowly working our way through the menu and making a list of never again items and the must have things. So far, burgers and wings top the list :)

My wife and I eat here often and have recommended it to all our friends even the picky ones and they all liked it. Tried many things from the menu and haven't had a bad meal yet. The staff is friendly and very good at their jobs. they have a great bar area or if you want to just be in a quiet place that have booths in the back. Love this place.

I'm so glad that Michigan bars are smoke free now. This is one place that was just ok to come to because of all the smoke. Now it is so much more awesome because I can breathe! This place has a pretty laid back, casual atmosphere. The bar food is good and the beer tap selection is great - Bell's Two Hearted, Founders Red's Rye and one of my favorite fall seasonal's - Sam Adam's Octoberfest, as well as the usual brews. I really like the OTG Quesadilla - spinach, mushrooms, garlic and three cheeses. Service is pretty good and friendly. If a big sports game is on, I would recommend coming here, because they have a ton of TV's throughout the place.

I have a fond place for Hermann's. It's one of the first places I started going to when I moved to Plymouth, and now it's a place I never pass up. While many people might think it's just a bar, it has a great menu. Tons of options, good for large groups. I recommend the veggie wrap and the cobb salad. Both great. Hermann's is very smokey, which is the only drawback for me. I tend to sit in the back when I go, since that portion is smoke-free. The staff at Hermann's is the best. Always friendly and willing to help. During the summer there's a great side patio, too. Give this place a try during Ice Festival- it's off the beaten path!

We've usually only been here for lunch when my husband's office was over off Sheldon. The food has always been a bit better than typical bar food. We usually head there when my husband has a craving for a Hermann's Hammy (the ham sandwich). I didn't realize the restaurant went back much further than just the bar area until we met friends up there one evening. The back part felt sort of cold and deserted, but the service was still as good as usual. Unfortunately, both the front and back areas always smell kind of funny. I don't know why.

This is my type of place... It could be one of my favorite bars. They always have a good selection of beer, and good beer on tap. The staff here is very friendly and talkative. The crowd is very good. The food here is very good, they have a large selection of sandwiches, as well as sweet potato fries which are a huge plus. The pizza is really good, and the best part is that the food is very well priced. Not too expensive at all. The game room is awesome, there are two pool tables, a dart board, shuffle board, and a few arcades. Its just a great place to go hang out with friends in a good atmosphere.

nothing exceptional, but a nice atmosphere to hang out at. they've got a wide range of food and drink options. I've been here a couple times, most recently just before Christmas and the staff were very friendly. a large group of friends sat near us and were a bit noisy, but nothing too distracting. staff was very friendly and attentive.

Stopped in to Hermann's before the ice festival last night. I had been here before, I think when there was still smoking permitted, and the place was not tolerable for more than 5 minutes. It has a college bar type of feel, so I guess I was a bit surprised when they were on a wait for a table. We were able to belly up to the bar and decided to stay put there to watch the MSU basketball game. I was glad to be seated next to another Spartan fan, because the place is clearly heavily a U of M bar. The two bartenders were "all business". One of them was extremely built, and not really friendly at all but overall added to the charm of this place. The menu is great. Really have all sorts of sammies and burgers, and typical bar food. We started with the chips and salsa - the chips were the multicolored kind which I love and just salty enough. They could have been a little more generous with the store bought salsa. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad for my entrée, which I thought was delicious! The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the bbq chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce its self had a little kick to it which I really enjoyed. For me, sometimes the best part about trying out a new place is discovering if they have good ranch dressing. This place hits it out of the park! They had both excellent ranch and chipotle ranch dressing, very thin and full of flavor! If you don't have good dressing then its likely I won't want to come back - I order salads at most of the restaurants that we eat at so its a very important factor for me in deciding if I like a restaurant or not. In addition to their delicious food, they also have an awesome beer selection, both on tap and in the bottle. I tried my first Hopslam - very delicious and strong... had to switch to water after just one! I doubt I'll visit during March Madness or football Saturdays.. but yes, Hermann's is a great place, even if you root for the wrong team :)

This was my first, and only, time at Hermann's. A group of us went for dinner and drinks. We ordered the sweet potatoes appetizer and weren't told until 20mins after we placed the order that they were out of them. My entree was the fish tacos, which did not have many topics nor much flavor. The others in my party also weren't impressed with the food. Might be an ok place to watch a game but would not come here to eat again.

It's been nearly four years since I reviewed this place, so I guess it's about time I update it. Hermann's food is solid. I've eaten here several times now and I have yet to be disappointed with anything. The pizza is good (and I believe there's a Sunday special for it). I'm a sucker for the French Dip sandwich. The turkey pesto wrap is also good. The service is always good - but seems to be better when they are busier (at night). They do a really good job of rotating their taps and getting good microbrews in the house. The do a good job of featuring Michigan-brewed beers and the prices are reasonable. Overall, Hermann's is a good place to watch a game, grab a bite to eat, or just come out and hang for a few drinks. The one knock I have on the place is the game room that I used to love so much. They got rid of the Silver Strike Machine and added a mini-shuffleboard game...not a fan. Also, the pool tables (last I checked) are in desperate need of some work or need to be completely replaced. That being said...don't let it stop you from checking it out.

  • Bob R.

This is a great place with a busy fun bar type atmosphere. Personally we enjoy sitting at the bar when available more that at the tables, but that is just personal taste. Herman's always seems to have the best local beers as well as non-local, to fit just about anyone's tastes. If you like spicy hot food my favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, but I have them make it with the own "Danger" sauce (from their buffalo wings menu items). Super hot and super good! Their vegetarian offerings are also very good. If you go during prime times there will be a wait.

  • Kelley W.

Long overdue update...since Michigan's smoking laws have changed to no longer allow smoking in restaurants, Hermann's is awesome! The food is still tasty, the taps interesting and the service is usually great. I am a fan of their burgers and salads but they have pizza (including a gluten free option that's ok), sandwiches and more. A great place to catch a game or meet up with friends.

  • Amy B.

Had heard so much about this place and decided to try it out on a Saturday. The atmosphere is good but I was disappointed in the food. The fried pickle spears are good but I found the pretzel sticks to be just okay. My burger was under cooked and really didn't have much flavor at all. Kind of a bummer. Wanted it to be our "place" bit won't be back unless friends insist.

Great food! Great atmosphere! Great for birthday hangout with a group size of 10-15 at max. The service is a bit slow during busy times but they are busy so you have to understand.

  • Lauren P.

A little pricy, but the food and drinks were great! And, the bonus is that there's an outside seating area, so definitely a relaxed atmosphere for after work dinner and drinks with friends, while enjoying the sunshine and warmth!

  • Sarah R.

I don't know what people are raving about. Maybe it's because I was there on a busy night. Maybe it's because I was wearing a MSU shirt and the place was full of obvious Michigan fans. Maybe it's because when I was being shown to my seat outside, the owner (I'm guessing) remarked to other patrons that the State fan would have to go outside. I guess that's all in fun, but that was part of my first impression of this place. Once my friend and I were seated outside, practically in the dark because the outside lighting consists of nearby street lights, it took quite awhile for the waitress to take our drink orders. Like others have said, the waitstaff doesn't seem particularly interested in making sure people have what they need, like silverware or napkins (we had to ask for both). We had to share a menu and it took longer than it should have to get a couple burgers. The cole slaw is nothing to write home about because it's quite bland. The burger was okay, although I've had better. Neither of us finished everything on our plates, which is a sign to me that it wasn't spectacular. It's pretty standard bar fare, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. This State fan will take her money elsewhere.

So for almost a year, I've finally figured out the best thing to order on their new nd revamped menu, and although I've been told the grilled cheese sandwich is the best and Patrick won't turn down the fire sticks, I think the onion straws are the best item on the menu.

Have not been to Hermans in years. DTP was too crowded last night so we went to Hermans in Lower Town. I always liked Hermans but the smoke was always way too much there. First of all the place was packed...and fresh and clean without the disgusting smoke lingering everywhere. We split the steak bits and calamari and had a couple of beers and everything was very good!! A little different crowd than all the wannabe hipsters in DTP. A very nice change of pace. Plus there was some decent looking tail there as well.

Good food, craft beer on tap, friendly wait staff, lots of televisions showing sports and a nice sized bar with plenty of stools. We stop in about once a month for lunch on a Saturday and usually spend about twenty dollars for two people (drinking Coke). Everything I have had here is good - pizza, burgers, quesadillas. My husband got a chef salad today and really liked it also. The menu is a little bit more interesting than typical bar food - a few twists on sandwiches and burgers and appetizers that make it worth revisiting. You can street park in the Old Village, so it is easier to get in and out of than some of the bars and restaurants in downtown Plymouth.

I have been to Hermann's twice recently and on both trips, I have enjoyed my visit. The atmosphere is nice: there are more than enough televisions well spaced and turned to each of the relevant sporting events, the chairs are comfortable, and the tables are arranged such that you are not overly crammed in. On both trips, I have ordered the Patty Melt and paid the up charge for fries. The beef has been cooked property on both occasions, the bread toasted just right, and the fries are neither too crispy nor soggy. I greatly appreciate the consistency of the chefs, and I hope that it extended to other dishes as well. Everyone in my party was also pleased with their meals. The beer taps rotate and offer a good choice of standards and craft beer, and the prices are reasonable. Both visits were with large groups, and the waiter on my first visit was impeccable: he was attentive with each person at the table, checked in frequently, and was quite prompt with bringing drinks. The waitress on my last visit was not rude in any way, but utterly useless. My group was not asked if we wanted more drinks, how our food was, or even brought the tab at the end of the night. Each time we wanted something a member of the group had to leave the table to find her chatting at the bar. The rest of the staff I have encountered at Hermann's have been much, much better so I am inclined to view her behavior as the exception to the rule. If you are looking for above average bar food and a good place to watch a game, Hermann's is a good choice.

A lot of people (and friends alike) seem to really like this place. Which, once again, makes me feel like hubby and I are overly critical restaurant go-ers. The establishment itself has a wide array of clientele but seems to be popular with bikers (fine with me :) and has a bar area as well as a gaming room. As for the food, we both ordered a different burger and were underwhelmed with both. Two of three orders came out wrong and had to be re-made. One burger was burned to a crisp and somehow passed QC and was covered up with topping in hopes the overwhelming charred flavor would not be detected. Also, our sides were delivered 10 minutes after the fact, resulting in 2 separate "meals. Our waitress whom must not have been a day over 17 did not seem to care too much about anything, including refilling drinks and our dissatisfaction. I've heard friends rave about the burgers, pizza and salads. Unfortunately I don't think I will go back to try any of these other two suggestions.

Yeah, I kind of love Hermann's. It's a sports bar, it's a pub, it's a relaxing place to come with a few friends and have drinks without the pretentiousness. Food is awesome - from the pizza to any number of burger options and sandwiches. The fried pickles are awesome too - although on my last visit, they seemed to be a little stingy on the serving. No mind - they were still delicious. Oh, and Hopslam on draft? Excellent. I'll keep coming back, for sure.

I've been several times since my first experience, and they've done a pretty good job overall. I would consider this the best beer bar in Plymouth that I've been to. Service is friendly and courteous, and food is ok.

  • Kate R.

I met a couple Plymouth regulars here after a long day of painting and helping a friend out in their new home. Service was pleasant - actually quite witty, which was appreciated. The place itself seems like a good "regular" joint, but I wouldn't say it's a destination. Their menu is pretty extensive, spanning from quesadillas to sandwiches and pizza, but nothing really stood out. My french dip sandwich was average and the sweet potato fries were decent. Everyone else seemed reasonably please with their meals, but the whole experience for me was more about being with friends than going out for good food. I'd come back with my friends for a place to hang out, but I don't know that I'll be chomping at the bit...

First timers, and we were very happy. Thursday 7pm. Just missed the Happy Hour specials (which didn't sound too special - less than $1 off each drink - so no biggie). Very, very busy and loud. Staff had just cleaned the four top we snagged - no other table or bar stool in the joint. On tap menu goes beyond boring Bud Light to include some interesting choices. We ordered beers right away (shoot, I'm horrible with beer names... my first one was an Amber, and Ken liked it enough to get it as his 2nd beer. My second glass was Bass) and perused the food menu. We started by splitting the pepperjack cheese bites and pretzel sticks (on the specials menu, served with warm queso and grainy mustard dipping sauces - yum!). Ken got the Fish and Chips (three thick, flaky pieces served with housemade tartar, plus OK fries and coleslaw). I tried the 7" personal pepperoni pizza (nice thick hand-tossed crust, gooey cheese). Everything we had was delicious! This tells me that place does seriously good food all around. Our waitress was on the ball, with food recommendations and checking back just often enough. A side room has pool tables and dart boards. TVs everywhere. The crowd appears to get younger as the night goes on, but when we were there it was a mix of 20s to 40s, with a few older couples thrown in. We will go back. Soon, I expect.

Hermanns is one of those places I never went to before the smoking ban. It was a giant choking cloud, even outside. Luckily Michigan passed the ban, because Hermann's is a-ok in my book. I like the food. For a bar it is a good change of pace. Not everything is fried and there are some appealing healthier options (low carb) to boot. You can even take a veggie only pal here. It is not uber cheap nor is it terribly creative but it is solid and nice. Great with a beer or mixed cocktail. I had a Hawaiian chicken salad in here and it was very tasty. Spinach, mushrooms, caramelized pineapple, teriyaki chicken and macadamia nuts. Yum. A trifle on the sweet side but that is what I was looking for. Everything tasted fresh and the flavor combo worked. My husband ate a Texas burger, BBQ sauce, bacon and a battered onion ring on a half pound burger. He had his with cheddar cheese and opted for onion straws. It was a respectable bar burger. My husband also got a 2 buck PBR but I had to stick to non alcoholic this visit myself. Hermann's is casual and fun. The crowd is friendly. The waitstaff is on the ball. It will not blow you away but you will enjoy yourself enough to want a return visit. Its a three and a half for my money but Yelp doesn't allow me to do that.

Strolled in after realizing Liberty Street Brewing didn't serve food. Super stoked we did. This place is awesome! TV's galore, great beer choices, food was delicious and the prices weren't bad. I'd say it was a successful night out of exploring. Staff is uber polite. I had the OTG Quesadilla. It was filled with sauteed spinach, garlic, mushrooms and a trio of cheeses. It was super yummy. I can't wait to come back to order it again!

My new favorite Thursday night hot spot! I just moved to Plymouth over the summer and live in walking distance from Herman's, which is super convenient. The wait staff are witty and friendly and very attentive. My coworkers and I are now addicted to coming up for Trivia on Thursdays, the trivia host is really fun too!The food is typical bar food and pretty good. Deep friend pickle spears anyone? Yes please!

Maybe our server was just having a bad day... We ordered drinks, then an appetizer and pizza. The waitress brought one of our drinks, then returned a few minutes later saying she forgot what we ordered. When the pizza arrived, it had pepperoni on it that we did not order. The waitress just stared at us when we told her of the error and walked away. Half way through our pizza the second drink finally arrived. When the bill came we got charged for the late drink ($2.50 for a Coke, really??) and for 2 additional pizza toppings. The pizza was good, but not great. The continuous horrible service left a bad taste in my mouth and ruined thoughts of ever returning to this establishment.

The very best burger in town. Without a doubt. It is hard to not order one when in for trivia. We always come from work, Monday nights, for trivia. We are hungry and thirsty. The menu is really good...lots of very delicious things...but I always want the burger. GREAT fries too. White and Sweet Potato. Yummmmmm OH...and a terrific wait staff!!! Elise and Sara rock!

This is probably my new favorite place in Plymouth. My burger was excellent... fries were, too. Their beer selection is also nice, and it's worth a stop even with the brewery a few doors down. The atmosphere is casual, and the servers were nice and cute. The place is tucked away in a very quiet part of Plymouth, off the beaten path. If you can find it (easy to do), you will be rewarded.

Hermann's is a top quality establishment. Service is always quick, courteous, and friendly. Rotating craft beer draft choices along with a wide liquor selection and an excellent daily happy hour for both beer and mixed drinks. Daily food specials and a diverse menu. The management team is very actively involved in daily operations and is always striving to making everyone's visit a positive one.

One of my fave spots. I used to come here almost every Sunday night when a good friend lived nearby in Plymouth. Why Sunday? For their pizza special! $6 for a large one-item. I love many other items on the menu as well as their great beer selection. They have plenty of TVs for catching the game(s) and a patio in the summertime. I made the "mistake" of liking them on Facebook. So now I see their lunch specials in my daily feed. They all sound--and I just know they taste--amazing. I wish I wish I wish I lived closer.

Order the fried pickles here! Casual atmosphere, great bar food, decent beer selection, and reasonable prices. The sandwiches and burger I've tried here have been satisfying. A good place to hang out with friends to watch sports or play trivia.

Hermann's is a great local bar - the kind everyone wishes they had in their home town to unwind on a Friday night. Especially now that it's non-smoking, we go there to grab a bite of food and a good drink on a fairly regular basis. The atmosphere is good - it has that "I'm a fun bar, let's laugh" feeling to it when you walk in the door. There are also a couple pool tables and games around so there are ample opportunities for distraction. The food is pretty good for a bar. Typical american fare - pizzas, sandwiches, potato skins, etc. The pizzas are pretty good and the food is consistent. They have a good selection of beer on draft and lots of variety in bottles, as well as a full bar. Hermann's is definitely a good spot.

I've been to Hermann's quite a few times and I can't say I've ever had a bad time. I'm sure most of that has to do with my company but I enjoy this place. Hermann's is a casual fun bar you can go with friends, and not feel like you are there to hook up with some random idiot. They have a nice selection of beers and their menu is extensive. Although it mostly consists of bar food, everything I have tried there is really good! Also, the service is great. The servers are frequently on top of their game, and there are always a few scurrying around if you need to flag someone down quickly. I've closed Hermann's down a few more times than I'd like to admit, and they are always shoving us out the door. I would consider that a compliment since people don't seem to want to leave.

I really like Herman. I wanted to try something new but always ended up with ordering chicken fingers with fries combo with separate honey muster and BBQ sauce. Very nice atmosphere sitting outside in the summer. BBQ chicken pizza also really great. Beers are good, too.

This place has a giant mechanical moose head hanging above the bar and a couple arcade games featuring photo hunt. What's not to like? Beer is priced well and the food is solid. I've had great experience with pizza, wraps and subs here as well as soup. Seriously, I actually ordered soup at this bar once. I would have given this place a five star but it is not within walking distance of other watering-holes. But I guess that isn't there fault. Outdoor seating is sorta cool.

Yeah this is my go to spot in Plymouth, if I want to meet with friends for a casual night of good food pub food in a cool laid back environment this is the spot! The staff is always super nice and attentive, the tvs are clear and in HD (some bars cheap out on having real HD service on the tvs) if that's you're thing (I'm the only sports fan among my friends). The back room with pool tables is fun too, dollar tables. I've been here countless times and have loved all the food here.

Friendly atmosphere, great casual food, really good beer selection, and it is family friendly. We can count on a good experience every time we go to Hermanns with or without our children. Nick and his family have done a wonderful job with this place. We have tried most of the menu, and have not been disappointed with anything. They have a nice patio in the summer. Great spot to watch a game.

Much better now that there's no smoking - Yay!! The food is a definite step above the usual bar food, you must try the OTG Calamari - it is the stuff of dreams - thick strips of tender calamari lightly fried and served in a citrus beurre blanc with capers, fresh and sun dried tomatoes - amazing! And in a bar!! The burgers are good, everyone I've dined there with enjoyed their food as well - I can't seem to drag myself away from the calamari!! Good drink selection, a great place to catch a quick bite and drinks.

I like Hermann's for a bar to start the night out at. Unfortunately, it is a car drive to downtown Plymouth but we usually use Hermann's to plan the evening. The waitresses are all very friendly; sometimes it takes a while to get a refill but nothing unbearable. I don't smoke but my friends do and whenever we go out, there is always interesting conversation. Typically an older crowd but there are always a few attractive young ladies. Before eleven, the bar is not too crowded and we have always had a table. Good Guinness also which is always a plus. All in all, this is a great place to start an evening and get plans together along with a friendly small town feel.

I lived in the Plymouth-Canton area for close to 20 years, and never even knew about Hermann's, until I went home over Thanksgiving break. Trivia on Monday nights is a good time, and even better given the reasonable prices for beer and food. The restaurant was definitely crowded that night, but not so bad that you couldn't walk around. Looking forward to going back again and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere without seeing someone I know from high school every other minute.

I've been to Hermann's twice and never again. The first time we told the hostess guy (host seems wrong) that we needed a table for 3. We waited in the back game room for 20 mins or so until a table opened up. Finally he ushers us to a table for 2. When we explain we can take the table but need a third chair, he snaps "good luck finding it" and stomped away. We should have left. But we didn't. We stayed and ate and drank and I found the place to be just so-so. Food was OK. Good beer selection. The second and final time was also met with a gruff attitude from the "host." We stalked the bar looking for an open table and, after waiting one out, he runs over to slap a "reserved" sign on it as we were sitting down. Look, I don't need to beg some one to take my money. Save the attitude and hoof it over next door to Liberty Street for some good beer and better service.

Hermann's Grill (a.k.a. The Lowertown Saloon) is an excellent choice in Plymouth. Walter hangs with the FarmRATGolf/LowertownRATS. He starts out with a Diet Coke with lime. The RATS begin with popcorn & cashew nuts. If asked, Hermann's will re-pop any un-popped cornels of corn (sever Greg often anticipates and RATS don't have to ask). Next comes a Pizza Supreme or two. Very Nice !!!

Usually decent service but had 2 waitresses yesterday lunchtime that were pretty bad. Food was mediocre at best. The pizza is good but they wouldn't let me order a personal size because there was a large party in the back that were having pizza, that was the explanation anyway. Ha! Chips and very little salsa was $4!? Really? The waitress gave me the impression that they were complimentary. So I paid $18 for a veg quesadilla and chips/salsa. I get the sense that this is a place that only regulars are welcome at but I could be wrong. Won't be back anytime soon. There are plenty other places in the same area that will welcome me.

Was invited tor a relatives B-day and I found the place OK, My waitress Megan was cute and fun, knew the food well but didn't know her alcohol well. She recommended the pizza or burgers and most things seemed to be deep fried but they did have some salads an other such items. i ordered one of the OTG burgers and it was OK nothing special, good tasty, filling but a little plain. I do suggest upping to get the fries as they came out nice crisp but soft inside. Personally I dislike places that offer chips as a side. I'd rather they give less fries and add 75 cents to the price then make me order up. Here they give you a small bag of chips. Which I think if you don't eat they take it back. I was trying to get a flavor for the place but it really seems mixed. Its a long room, and has a patio but was to cold to hang out there. A lot to TV's but not really a sports bar. A stage where you get live music some days but none on this Saturday. The decor was a mix that really didn't fit yet didn't clash, not exactly eclectic but made do with. Even though I did not see anyone smoking nears us I came back smelling from smoke which i was a little surprised by, and no I'm not anti-smoke, I prefer to make my own choices, just a little smokier then expected. Best thing was a very WIDE variety of beer at a reasonable price. So would I go again yeah, if it was just a thing to do. Maybe a night with music and the patio might give me a better flavor.

tl;dr: great bar, if you can afford it. I've been a regular at Hermann's for many years now, and I'm sad to say that I can hardly afford to eat/drink there anymore. not sure what happened, or when, but a chicken wrap and one beer should not cost $18. for years I would have had nothing bad to say about this place; great burgers and daily specials, decent beer selection, and fantastic staff.. I'm just not sure why it has gotten so expensive. I've recommended this place to friends and strangers for a long time, but now i make sure to clarify that it's not as cheap as you would like a burger-and-a-beer kinda place to me.

Clearly it's been a while since my last review but this place still has mad character! It's still a little dingy and divey but the service has never failed me, the food is always legit and it's still a getaway when you want a bar that's not overrun with 20-somethings. The game room has changed a bit...they 86ed the steel tip dart boards...for shame! PLEASE PUT THEM BACK!!! But it still has two nice pool tables while their cues could use replacement since they're mostly all warped. That aside they have a nice, although small, patio. Service is always tip-top and it's a really unpretentious place that serves great beer, solid food and good drinks.

One of the few places in Plymouth worth frequenting.

nothing exceptional, but a nice atmosphere to hang out at. they've got a wide range of food and drink options.

A little pricy, but the food and drinks were great! And, the bonus is that there's an outside seating area, so definitely a relaxed atmosphere for after work dinner and drinks with friends, while enjoying the sunshine and warmth!

Order the fried pickles here! Casual atmosphere, great bar food, decent beer selection, and reasonable prices. The sandwiches and burger I've tried here have been satisfying. A good place to hang out with friends to watch sports or play trivia.
