Came on a Saturday for breakfast. I ended up ordering a breakfast sandwich, which I had never had from Grand Traverse Pie Co. Ok is the nicest I can say about it. You have your choice of egg and cheese, egg cheese and bacon or egg cheese and sausage. I got the egg, cheese, and bacon and it was extremely, extremely greasy. I understand that I ordered the one with bacon and believe me, I do love my fair share of grease, but I could only eat about half. The other reason I could only eat half was they put somet type of dressing or sauce on it. I want to say it tasted like mustard.... I generally like GTP, but will stick to their sandwiches, salad, soup, and of course, pie!!

I've been going here for some time as it's right down the street from my parent's house. Stopped in with my mom for lunch on monday. Their service can be a little iffy, but the food has always been good. I had the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. Soup was hot and sandwich was delicious. Mom had the manitou which is my usual go-to choice. I love that they give out samples... just makes me want to grab a slice for myself. Thier crumble pies are probably my favorite pie out there.

Definitely some good pies and desserts. The food is great. Sometimes the staff seems a bit disconnected, or just young and don't care! Haha, but I go for the food. The dining area is decent and nice location.

I have ordered sandwiches and the quiche here, and they are both very good, but lets face it I am visiting for the pie. The cherry pie is delicious and so are the other pies I have sampled here.

GTPC is the best. I have been going here for years and i have to say they have blown away my expectations. I used to go to Baker's Sq as a kid. Grand Traverse is the only show in town. They have friendly staff and service, are highly reliable around the holidays and OBVIOUSLY have the best tasting pie in the state. To prove they go the extra mile, I was recently there and my kid had a meltdown because he didn't like the slice of pie he chose (brat). One of the owners noticed and let my son pick out a completely different piece, for no charge. No more tears...happy parents. How can i NOT go back?

The pie may or may not be great - I didn't try it. We came here for lunch and were extremely disappointed. Our service experience was not unlike the many others who were rudely treated during the ordering process, so I'll leave it at that. The sandwiches, as served, were very small and unappetizing. The soup was good, but also a very small serving for the price. The turkey pot pie was disgusting. The tiny cubes of "turkey" had little if any flavor, the vegetables were mushy and also lacked any taste. The remaining filling had soaked into the crust. I lost my appetite about 1/2 way through the dish, and later felt nauseous.

Okay so I cannot speak for the regular menu items, as I exclusively visit here for treats and desserts. I am a sucker for pie. Good pie, that is. Especially of the fruity variety with crumb toppings. Ya can't really beat those buttery, sugary balls of dough atop a pie. I am a big fan of GT's cherry crumb pie, and have been stuck in a rut ordering this variety the last couple of times we visited. Blueberry is a favorite with my husband and stepdaughter, but the apple, raspberry and coconut cream pies are amazing in their own right as well. Brownies are good, not great..but the seven layer bar and cookies are just plain delicious. I have to say their regular menu feels a bit Panera-esque (soups, sandwiches and salads), with the exception of potpies. A potpie is one of these American items I have stayed clear off, but I've recently started liking them very much. I may just have to get back here and try one out. We don't really come here very much, so when we do it is a treat. I cannot tell you how many times I drive by right after nine, hitting the steering wheel all crabby and mad. My cravings come at the worst possible times, but these pies are worth waiting for.

I complete agree with Kristin D! Seriously?! People are complaining about how much fat is in the pies! Are you frickin' kidding me?! Next, we're going to hear about how the salads are too healthy! Anyway! :P I have sampled pretty much everything on the Grand Traverse menu. I love the salads, the sandwiches, and most definitely the pies! As Kristin stated before, I seriously had to wipe the drool from my chin from the taste of these pies! I loooooove their pies! There pies are better than Baker Squares ever were! Grand Traverse beats them with everything! Honestly, try this place! It's sooooooo worth it and make your own judgement!

Heard a lot of great things about this place and trust me it is warranted. First of all, the selection is vast. I would say about maybe 20 pie selections ( some already pre boxed) and sandwiches, pot pies, and maybe about 10-15 other bake good items (a huge i might add). Had the fruit cheesecake, which was on point and one of the better cheesecakes i done ever had. I also had the apple crumb pie which was delicious ( i actually liked it better in the fridge overnight than fresh). So yes Grand Traverse Pie Company, you have a new fan.

After reading the other reviews on this restaurant/pie shop, I was more than a little nervous about trying anything other than the pie. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the other food was! I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato and bacon and it was perfect! I also had the ABC (Apple Berry Cherry) pie (which you have to ask for... it's not sitting in the display case) with a scoop of ice cream on the side. It was a really delicious lunch!!

Are people seriously complaining/ knocking this place down to 1 star because a pie has too much fat? What's that you say?!?! The sky is blue!? No sh*t Sherlock. I've never sampled their salads/ sandwiches here but I special ordered a Lemon Meringue pie from here as i was short on time to make one for my boyfriends birthday. I had to wipe the drool from my chin as I stared at all the glistening pies in the display case when I came to pick it up. YUM! My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised as well. I asked how it was and he said it was one of the best Lemon Meringue Pies he has had. I can't wait to come back in here and get a Cherry Pie so I can accompany it with a scoop of Guernsey Vanilla Bean ice cream. Thank you for being you Grand Traverse Pie. Co... your sugary, diet-ruining, fruity, yummy self.

If you want pie, this is the place to come. A bit spendy but you know you want to indulge in more ways than one. Besides the only other pie specialty place (Baker's Square) is virtually disappearing from our area, you won't much care though once you taste these pies. The Grand Traverse Pie Company has food but for now all I am reviewing is dessert. This is possibly the best non-homemade pie I have ever had. The cream pies are smooth and creamy with flaky crusts. The crumb topped fruit pies are sweet and have the best crusts around. The traditional topped fruit pies are good but trust me, get crumb instead. Ironically the very best item in this place is a Lemon Square. A mere 1.99 and found in the refrigerated section. A taste of heaven in a bar. A shortcake like bottom with a creamy gel lemony middle topped with a bit of cakey layer covered in powdered sugar. Bliss, absolute freaking bliss. I could eat one every day of my life. The other bars are just ok. I can make better. Cookies are meh. Big and a decent value but as somewhat of a cookie expert I say don't waste the time or the calories. There is a peanut butter muffin looking creation with a swirled chocolate middle reminiscent of a kiss that is also 1.99 and to die for. My husband quite enjoys. It is a cross btween a cookie and a tart. The Lemon Meringue is the best of the cream pies, the perfect balance between sweet and tart. The Chocolate Peanut Butter is a great cream pie and just so delicious and smooth. The Key Lime is amazing, creamy and just the right pucker level. The Chocolate Cream is fine but I am not dying to have it again. The Strawberry Rhubarb Crumb is perfect. The Apple Crumb is a touch too sweet but that doesn't bother my sweet toothed husband. Blueberry Crumb is my father's absolute favorite pie there and I must admit it is quite good. The Cherry Crumb is great as well. All are great with the store ice cream with it, a delicious vanilla. As I am avoiding sweets I am doing my best to pretend this place does not exist. A word of warning though, do not buy the last Lemon Square just in case I have an emergency....

Grand Traverse Pie is OK. Not great, just OK. I would give it 3 stars, except that every time I've had apple pie there it hasn't been cooked all the way. I don't understand why people can't cook an apple pie...just because the top is the right color does not mean the pie is done. I don't know if it is their oven, their recipe, or the chef/cook, but I always end up with apple pie that has a cooked crust and a raw shell with an uncooked gooey center. Blech. The key lime pie is good, but I am suspicious...it looks a little too "factory" for me to believe that they make it from scratch. Maybe they do, and if they do I apologize, but if I had to call it I would say they're mass-produced at some magical key lime pie factory and shipped in. I am not a fan of creme pies so I don't have an opinion on those, nor have I tried any of their regular, non-pie foods. Three stars, except minus one because IMHO they serve raw pie.

Unbelievable tasting pies. I have had the Apple, Rhubarb, Pumpkin, and Apple Crumbler...I still have found nobody to touch the flavors and perfect crust as they do.. Must eat it to believe it.. I'm not kidding, This could be better than your grandma's pie. 5 outta 5, Never ate pies better than theirs.. They also offer * Culinary Creation Sandwiches * Grilled and Classic Sandwiches * Soups & Salads * Combos * Pot Pies and Quiche * Children's Menu * Breakfast Fare

I'm a liar. The cherry pie is only $13. And still awesome. GTP has really done a nice job with their holiday pre-ordered pies. I called Wednesday and picked up the pie Christmas eve. You pre-pay on the phone then go to the back of the store for pickup (vs waiting in line).

I have never eaten anything but pie here and I'm good with that. Several times my mom would bring come an apple pie with caramel dripped on top and I could eat half of it in one night it was that good! Everything from the flavorful crust, to the fresh, sweet apples is amazing. I can honestly say without a doubt this is the best pie I've ever had in my life.

The mountain berry pie with crumble topping is delicious, I have also tried the abc but the berry one is my go to. Order in advance if this is a holiday treat.

Stop here from time to time and I feel it's always good. Not great but nice and that's all I want sometimes for a quick lunch.

Delicious, but everything with a crust is unconscionably high in trans-fat. 24.7 (that's twenty-four) grams in a single serving of Apple Dumpling. That is a wad for your artery! Think I'm lying? Check out their online nutritional information. I hope enough people complain and they switch to good ol' honest butter.

Blech! Overprice and totally not worth it. Soggy salads and sandwiches. Pie was marginal at best. Don't waste your time or your hard earned money!
