    We went there for lunch from work recently and the food was quite good. It seemed to be a little more authentic than other Mexican places in strip malls. The prices and portions were reasonable. About $7 for a two beef & bean burrito combo meal with rice and beans. Service was friendly too. Will probably return in future.

    As I work close to 5mile / Beck Rd. I am able to hop over quick to Don Beto's for lunch. I've been there now well over 15 times, and I have enjoyed it each time. Great selection of Mexican food, with even better prices. The lunch specials are all under 8 bucks, which is great as I'm not one to spend over $10 bucks for lunch (if I can avoid it). Great place for lunch if you are staying in (not too much space, as seating is limited) or taking out.

    Wow. They call this place a Mexican Restaurant. I've ate here twice now. I always give a place a second chance if the food sucks the first time. Well I was duped twice. The food is horrible, nothing like real Mexican food. The prices for what you get are overpriced. I won't be eating here again unless real Mexican food is created.

    i've been going here for a bit now so a quick update. Burritos are great here as are the enchiladas. The chimichangas aren't great, pretty bland. Refried beans are likewise under-seasoned. Overall I like this place but the menu is somewhat hit or miss.

    Had a hankering for tamales last night and stopped by about 5PM. No one around - customers, that is. I got the tamale dinner (three with rice and beans). I think they got them from a jar from Krogers and nuked them in the microwave. One was so hard I couldn't even cut into it. I left them - half done. I'm done with this place. blech

    I hate giving bad reviews because everyone has different opinions on what good food is. However after coming here I was really confused by the reviews, until I saw that they're from about two years ago. Not to mention the only recent review is five stars and it's the reviewers only review, ever. When I stepped inside I immediately knew what kind of place it was. I went against my instincts and ordered anyways. In this area most people are friendly and greet you with a smile and some sort of "hello, how are you?". I understand it was close to the end of the night but all I heard was a mumbled "hey" or "hi". Couldn't really tell. Still I went ahead and ordered. When my buddy asked what he recommended the guy at the counter (Beto himself?) basically said "uh I don't know... everything" which in restaurant translation is "uh shit nothing". The one other worker there, the cook, pretty much starred at us the whole time. Almost like he was pissed he had to work. So we ordered some tacos and a Mexican plate which they call a "Platio Mexicano". We took a seat at a table as we waited for our food which was ordered for takeout. It took about 20 minutes, which was ok but kind of lame. I say this because in the time we sat and waited we heard only the sounds of a deep fryer and a microwave being used. I saw a big ass stove top but I guess it's just for show. Not to mention the two guys working were moving slow as fuck. We finally get our food, get home and get to eating. The rice is bland, the beans are bland and every type of meat I had on my plate was bland. Not to mention if the meat wasn't watered down then it was dried out. Probably from the microwave. The salsa we ordered was "hot" but tasted no where near hot. Not to mention it was watery and if they didn't make it there then it was store bought. Every bite I took of my food was bland. This is probably some of the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Not worth the $25 for two fucking plates. Seriously bland, shitty excuse for food.

    The restaurant is next to Arby's in the strip mall. They have about 10 tables, but most of their customers are take out customers. The food is decent, however there are better Mexican places around the town. Friendly service and prompt. Give it a try and tell me what you think. I haven't gone back in long time due to work and travel, but I'll go back again. Price is not bad, but they may have raised the price.

    I hate giving bad reviews, I really do. I know this is a fast food Mexican joint, but it's honestly not worth the time to stop. Came in here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night craving Mexican food. Dirty wrappers and a pile of rice were just kicking in on a few of the tables, with no customers in the restaurant. The owner/ chef, whoever was just sitting in a chair near the kitchen looking almost pissed that we walked in 2 hours before they closed. Um I'm sorry? I decided to play it safe and get the taco platter with beef & chicken to go, and the boy got the Platillo Mexicano. For a place that wasn't busy it took about 30 minutes to get our food. The disturbing thing was I didn't hear a grill or anything cooking our food. Just the familiar hymns of a microwave getting revved up. Finally got our food home, and everything was extremely disappointing. The tacos had no flavor what so ever. I couldn't tell what kind of meat I was eating it was THAT bland. The 'hot' salsa was like chili water. The only thing that was halfway decent were the chips. I don't know if I'm more disappointed in Don Beto's or myself for not walking out. Not worth your $$
