Wow. Love this place. Ordered a mix of items to try for the first time and was not disappointed. Prices are very reasonable. I found another favorite.

Food is good . But the service is very poor and extremely serious faces at the counter . Please learn to smile at your customers.

4.5 /5 - Hands down, some of the best Indian/mainly south indian food I have had in this country and Canada. We went multiple visits as a group and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. Some of my favs - Kuzhi paniyaram Idiyappam with stew Pani puri Honey garlic gobi - ask for crispy gobi Pongal with vada I think almost everything on the menu is downright fantastic and the service is very quick too. Bottomline - Highly recommended for authentic south indian food. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

This review would be 4 stars only if the koftas here were softer. The sauces here taste great, and I like how the food is organic and non- gmo. You should probably add more paneer and less besan in the koftas- some of ours were rock solid.

My wife and I are vegan. We love this place. So many options for us. Great place to grab dinner before heading out for a show.

Oh my god! Oh my god! How did I miss this place till now? I just visited this place yesterday for dinner. If you want to have authentic Tamil Nadu food, this is the place to go. Pros --------- I never had this tasteful coconut chutney anywhere in the U.S. Also this is the only place with Parotta & Kuruma, good Kotthu Parotta (yummyyyy!!) and sweet paniyaaram. Also, the ambience is good. So far this is the second restaurant with Tamil background songs (Madras Masala in Ann Arbor started recently). Cons: --------- The water in the jugs is not so good, so avoid them. But they have a water filter machine with hot and cold water and is good. It is self service, so you have to plan ahead. But if there's no crowd, they will come and give you the food at your table. There's no crowd but I still went to get the food, he asked me to sit and told "Making one to get up half way from eating is a sin, so I try to serve the food whenever possible". I'm really touched!! Verdict ------------- It's a must visit place, if you are from South India and a foodaholic :))

I love love love love love this place!!!the lunch buffet is so worth it, if you don't eat a lot of veggies regularly( like you should) you can get your fix here. The mango kulfi is unlike anything I've had... I want to swim in an ocean of it. Service is very friendly, they all wear hair nets which is a HUGE plus in my book. This is THE place to go for food if you are ever in this area.

This was my first time here and it definitely did not disappoint me. This is a South Indian food buffet place. They do not serve any kind of meat. We had to wait for around 20-25 min before getting place to sit. Food was warm and tasty. They do very well with South Indian traditional food but they are horrible with roti-sabji type food. So if you guys enjoy idli, vada sambar-this is ur place!! The most disgusting thing was we found hair in food. Now we don't know if it was from cook or some customer trying to get closer look of food. I hope they get better with cleanliness. My biggest disappointment was their policy regarding water. I wish thEy just serve some water jars on each table so people don't have to get up in middle of their lunch/dinner.

I have no idea where my previous review went but after some initial bumps in the road with organization this place really does a good job. At our initial visits there were problems with the register and items that could be ordered but what we ordered (rice and paneer dishes) were excellent. What I love the most though is the buffet. It's a ton of different varieties of food. It's the best buffet that I can think of in the area. Each item is flavored well (not too spicy to dull the flavor) and has a unique flavor . There was dessert and drinks as well. They have dosas as well that are delicious and filing (with plenty of chutney) if you want that and to skip the buffet.

Just had the Sunday Lunch Buffet...super impressed...absolutely delicious, Crisp dosas got fresh to table, yum ginger chutney, chana dal, poories, Gobi Manchurian, Hakka noodles, vadas could have been a bit more Crisp..as they usually are..makhani paneer, was fab..mint rice was OK...soft fresh idlis n Sambar, melt in ur mouth palak pakoras, my husband loved the rava khichidi\upma, Tasty tindora n beans usli\poriyal.. missed the eggplant with dry spices and really missed the veg cutlets that are served sometimes. I'm sure there were more items but I'm so in a food coma can't recall any more...dessert was sweet pongal..was yum! Congratulations Murali...again you are dishing out a scrumptious feast for us.

I thought I was sad about Mirchi becoming an IHOP, but now I am happy. My jones for Indian food caused me to try Turmerican's buffet today. It was great! Fresh food and a good variety. Multiple rice dishes, noodles, dal, paneer, okra, uttapam, sambar, fresh veggies and dosa served to our table. Perhaps the best kheer I have ever had for dessert. The staff took time to explain the dishes to my guest who was new to Indian cuisine. Everything was quite tasty...I even had seconds on the okra (which can go wrong in so many ways). A few more chutneys and my meal would have been perfect. I will definitely be returning soon.

This is authentic Tamilnadu style restaurent. Me being from the same part of India liked this restaurent. You have lot of new variety of dishes. Good hospitality and really quick service. Sambar for takeout was very less. Other than that really a good restaurent. Would definetely recommend it if you want to try authentic Tamil vegetarian food.

Great service and some of the best dosas available in metro Detroit! The menu is entirely vegetarian. Dining is casual. Flavors and spice levels are perfect! So glad this place is just down the street from me. Looking forward to visiting again.

What a find! It was bliss fest last Sunday night when we stumbled upon this wonderfully innovative restaurant in Novi. They have an extensive menu of delicious vegetarian, organic, non-gmo (mostly) Indian cuisine. Lots of nutrition, loads of exotic flavor all for a fair price.

Great place for authentic Tamilnadu cuisine. Had Kothu Parota, Kal dosa, Vada curry, Paniyaram, Filter Coffee etc., after long time. Tasty food, gentle and helpful staff. They also have excellent lunch buffet. Must go place if you are visiting Novi area

I came here 2 times... Perfect South Indian food... I like Kothuparota in here... Cut mirchi had a little extra peanut on it... Still i liked... They say they try to use non-GMO as much as possible... Perfect place for a south Indian vegetarian...

The food was amazing! The owners were so friendly, and it was a reasonable price. Everything was bursting with flavor. It's more of a casual place, so maybe not for a special occasion. But we will be eating here often.

Authentic South Indian vegetarian food. You won't even care that they don't have any meat dishes. The lunch buffet was $9.99 on Saturday. No need for dinner tonight.

Never having tasted Indian food, I was excited to try this local spot. Not being a vegetarian, I was worried I would not find enough to eat. I tried this place on Saturday, 01/03/15 with my family - husband and two kids. We ordered the Madu Vadu and Masal Vada appetizers. Both were yummy but the Masal was yummier. We also ordered the North Indian and South Indian Tiffin platters, french fries and sweet potato fries. My husband loved everything. For me-the Dosa were delicious. The sweet potato fries were divine. Some things were too spicy. At first, it hurt but then I kind of liked it. My daughter enjoyed most dishes but couldn't handle some of the spice. My son, well, he's 8 and loved the fries. We arrived at 6pm for dinner and there were (maybe) 3 other families there too. By 7:15pm, the crowd picked up and it became very loud and very busy. No problem for us, just F.Y.I: no servers and you bus your own table. Not everything comes out of the kitchen in order or at one time.

My family and I ate here opening week and it was delicious. My husband and I are Indian Americans and found some dishes that my parents ordered to be really spicy but everything we ordered was so flavorful we have no complaints. They were able to make the cheese chilli dosa without chillies so it wasn't too hot for my toddler. The Sambar was the tastiest I have had in town. Im hoping in the future they will offer a mild, medium and spicy option to each dish. As someone who blogs about green living I was really impressed with their commitment to healthier dishes, including organic lassis and the fact that the cookware we could see in the open kitchen were stainless steel and not pfoa-emitting teflon. We can't wait to eat here again.

We visit it multiple times over the month both for buffet and also alcarte for dinner. The food is excellent. The south Indian dishes, especially, are very good. With regards to the buffet, I like the huge variety of dishes that they serve. A typical buffet menu would include a dhal, two south Indian curries, couple of north Indian dishes, rice variety, three Tiffin varieties, sweet and fruit. The quality of food is outstanding and they have very good service. The alcarte dishes are very well cooked too. I have had kothu parota, different dosa dishes, and so far never been disappointed. If you like Indian food, especially south Indian, this place is a must go. It appears to be a family run place (not certain on this) and they are very friendly. The only issue I might take with them is they seem to have all but one waiter for the entire restaurant. That waiter is very efficient but it's my suggestion that they add a few more, at least on weekends, since the place gets very busy and that waiter seems to have his hands full.

This is a great veg restaurant. Some of the items in the buffet really tasted very authentic. All the items looked refreshing and tasted very good. It's little pricey compared to the other indian restaurants around the area but I felt it was totally worth it. Staff is very friendly and the ambience is welcoming.

This was the most awesome vegetarian food I have had. I am more of a non veg guy, but this was out of the world vegetarian food. I would definitely recommend this to all vegetarians. I have already been here twice in 2 successive weeks. And I wouldn't hesitate to go again. The lunch buffet was good. Lots of varieties of food and good quality.

Wow! I began with the delicious Pav Bhaji and have progressed to basmati rice with chickpeas and curry, tomatoes and cilantro. This is a NON GMO, Vegetarian restaurant with smells and flavors that are so exotic on the palate. Addicted to it. All very fresh and out of this world. My kids love the mango smoothies. Will try rose next time. Just some iced tea or diet coke would be perfect but they have pitchers of water with large glasses for everyone. Very friendly.

The lunch buffet is great. Every dish on the buffet was perfectly cooked. The organic brown rice dish was amazing. The topper was the masala tea.

The Service: Attentive. Tried to upsell beverage and other a la carte items. The Food: Weekday lunch special $8.99. Compared to LA's Indian buffet, this restaurant has way less varieties and choices. There are 4 different kinds of rice, 2 kinds of soup, 2 curry dishes and a few vegetable dishes. The Parking: Plaza parking lot. Plenty of spaces.

New favorite go to spot for quick healthy food! Great service too, staff was very helpful with the diverse menu. Non GMO is the way to go! Looking forward to many returns to check out more of their menu

I was excited to try this place after reading all the rave reviews. Hoping my visit was an anomaly as it was not very good. I ordered the vegetable kurma with brown rice and naan. The naan and rice were fine, but the kurma was room temperature at best. It seemed fresh and tasty, but serving it hot would have been a big improvement. I thought the portion was small for the price. It is an "order at the counter and they bring the food to you" place. But when they brought my food they didn't bring utensils or napkins; I had to ask for them. Other people had them on their tables so perhaps I was supposed to get my own? -- unclear. Then in the middle of the meal a server came and took the water pitcher off my table. No idea why. It was all a little odd. I will give them another try and see how it goes.

The service was not amazing. The place was overcrowded, the servers were underpopulated and stressed out, and it was a mess. The lady at the counter taking our order made me wait 10 min to get boxes, on top of having trouble taking our order. On top of that, it was pretty expensive. We paid $35 for a dinner for 3 people in what should be a "fast food" restaurant. Most fast food places are a lot cheaper... The only reason I'm rating it 3 stars is because the food was pretty good. A lot better than nearby Indian food! Overall this place is good when not too busy... I think they need to move to a bigger place and hire more workers before I give them a 5/5.

What a great find in Novi! Hidden in a strip mall is a homey vegetarian Indian buffet. It appears to be family owned and was full of Indian people having lunch. Their Aloo Gobi was exceptional, it reminded me of veggie sesame chicken. I also discovered two new dishes. Butta Sheek Kabab was crispy little corn fritters and Tindora Fry was spicy "ivy gourd" but reminded me of non-slimy okra. The paneer and eggplant were both very good also. Plus they delivered freshly made dosas directly to our table! The buffet includes free chai but it was unsweetened so not to my liking. I would have preferred everything a little spicier but it was probably just right for mass appeal.

Great Indian food!!!! The food is tastes like straight from its origin. There are many Indian restaurants around, but most are "americanized" to favor the taste buds of different ethnicity. But this place is totally ethnic food. No alterations. May be the only Indian restaurant I have see which is ethnic yet the customers were from different ethnicity. Their servers were fast and very courteous. The owner who seemed also works the kitchen walked around asking every table about their food. OH AND FIRST RESTAURANT I SAW WHICH SERVES A GREAT QUINOA DISH IN A BUFFET!!!!! Food is also organic so that says something about the quality served. Thus was our first time and definitely coming back here again!

My first Indian cuisine experience was at Turmerican and I'm hooked for life! I found out about this place because I was searching the Happy Cow website for a vegetarian place in Novi and it is an amazing example of how beautiful vegetarian food can be. I brought my grandmother who eats meat and even she said, "If food is cooked like this, I don't need meat." Previous to this experience, I had never had Indian before so I don't have anything else to compare it to but my grandma has had Indian before and she could not stop talking about how she can't wait to come back. She had the South Indian Tiffin platter and I had the vegan platter. Both were bursting with flavor. I LOVED all the chutneys- my favorites were the cilantro & the ginger (perfect amount of spice too). The vegan platter was my favorite because of the sides- one was potato based, a curried chickpea one and the cauliflower curry dish. All were mouthwatering. My piece of advice is to dine-in unless you are an Indian food expert because the lady who rang us up (who I assume is the owner) was very friendly, helped us order and gave us advice not to mention ended up hooking us up with a couple dishes free of charge which included the paneer (SO good) and another rice dish. Will be back soon and often!

Where have you been all my life??? You've unexpectedly surprised me with your delicious South Indian specialties such as dosa, uthapum, and chole batura. Your chutneys are amazing and so full of delicious flavor. Did I mention gluten free, organic, and non GMO dishes too? Don't believe them? Just look in their frozen pantry which is open glass to the public. I can't say enough about this place and it's so close to my house too. I found you only last week but have been here 3 times already. This will be my regular hangout until I've tried most of your dishes.

I remember the school nurse teaching us to consume a colorful diet for optimum health. As a young rebel, I took that to mean a bag of Skittles a day but I now understand what she was probably referring to is the foods of Turmerican. During their buffet, you can find lots of brightly colored vegetables in rich, creamy sauce, orange and yellow lentils and a variety of chutneys. Everything is flavorful and just the right spice for the palate (not too hot or mild). They advertise that they purchase from local farmers and encourage buffet eaters to only serve what they can consume. Advice well taken. There are a variety of lassis, smoothies and other drinks for purchase as well. I stuck with water but you'll get it in a small styrofoam cup and have to get up for refills. It would be nice to see reusable cups (with a pitcher per table) just like the reusable plastic cafeteria plates served for the buffet. I've only been to the buffet which was fantastic and look forward to trying their menu items in the future.

I live close to this place and so I would very much like this place to thrive and succeed and stay in business. The convenience of getting good south indian food is great. I have not been to their buffet yet and that is something I do plan to try to base my final opinion on whether this is a place worth going back to. However having been here a couple of times here are my observations 1) The chaat is so-so. There is nothing special about or kick to it. That doesn't mean I just want spicy chaat, in fact I prefer mild but the combination of spices/flavors is minimal at best. South indian places aren't first of all known for their chaat so I guess this is to be expected. Of course prices are higher at 5.49 but I don't get the taste I get at some other places with chaat. 2) For dinner we ordered two vegetables (Paneer and regular mixed vegetables) for take out. First the price at 10 and 11 per item is definitely on the higher side for the quantity being given, I would expect 8.99 or so(after all this isn't downtown Chicago). Second we were told that it would be 20 mins plus to get the item on the phone. We showed up 20 min later and finally when I got to paying for it, I noticed all that was happening was they were pouring the vegetable into the container in front of me. First my impression was if someone is paying 10 or 11 per item you would cook fresh. But keeping that aside even after paying I had to wait 5 plus minutes when all that was being done was pouring vegetable into a container. Knowing I ordered this, this should have been filled into the containers and kept ready when I arrived. In addition the taste was also very average. The paneer was chewy and the mixed vegetables was definitely not tasty. 3) This brings me to the third point which is efficiency. They are horribly understaffed. This is something I have faced from day one. The speed of service, having a separate line for carry out to take it out the door vs waiting in line behind people who will take their time to make up their mind causes me a headache. They need to tighten their processes and get faster during busy time. I realize being a smaller restaurant and balancing demand and cost of labor can be challenging but customers will demand quicker service than this.

I've noticed this place in the past but never gave it a try because it is a vegetarian restaurant. I happened to bump into the restaurant's owner at a dealership. He was such a great guy I figured I try this place out. It was absolutely fantastic. I can't believe food can taste this good without having any meat in it. Indian food is my favorite type of cuisine and I have never had any better than this. I will be back here at least once a week. To top it off, everyone who works there is extremely pleasant; an example a certain other Indian restaurant in the area would be wise to follow.

  • Minds E.

The food is good but the service and the ambience and the hot temperature inside the restaurant made for it to be an absolutely terrible experience. The lady at the counter is unapologetic and defiant and rude and the server is worse. Never coming back to shit sheet hole again.

It was my first ever visit to any Indian restaurant in Novi after I moved here with my family. We had a lunch buffet on Saturday few weeks before. It was jam-packed, so we had to wait outside along with some other customers. When it started drizzling, the waiter to which I requested allowed us to wait inside. While waiting for our turn, I found that they had bins for keeping dirty utensils just near to the entrance, which obviously is not welcoming to the any customer. The lunch buffet had so much options to choose from, and good thing is that if you still wants more after finishing one round, you can take it in the same price(no additional price you will have to pay). They had south Indian and North Indian options along-with Chinese noodles. The noodles was very spicy and so my 4 yr old could not ate that. They had few varieties of Pakoras too. To my surprise, when I ate to my full, the waiter came to us with dosas. Initially I thought that someone ordered it and by mistake he brought dosas on our table. But it was part of the lunch buffet. In sweets, we only get some south Indian dessert, rest all were gone. The owner and staff was smiling and friendly. The other negative point was that the wash-basin was inside the toilets, so to wash your hands, you may have to wait outside if someone is already using it. Also while taking the buffet, your eyes will surely fall upon the room next to dining area which is full of dirty utensils.Otherwise food was good and too much on this price, but there are certain area on which the owner needs to work.

Hands down the best Indian food in novi area. I didn't notice the place until I drove past it. I went on to find out they have been around for 6 months. The progressive and unique thing about this place in this area of the country is that it's mostly gluten free, organic, and non-gmo. We went for the 8.50 lunch buffet and it was all fresh, not over salted, nor greasy like most Indian restaurants. The staff was friendly, inviting, and hospitable. The atmosphere can be a bit fancier, but the food was authentic and delicious with many flavors.
