I used to love Honey tree at other locations, but the food here tastes odd to me. I don't know if they changes the menu or the cook puts their own spin on things. Everyone there is very nice, and the convenience of the location is great.

Fair priced food, the chicken strips here are good for the price, food comes out fast!

I've been to other Honey Tree locations which seemed like upscale Coneys. The Novi location was nothing like those experiences, however, in that it's just an excellent restaurant with good greek fare. I ordered the spinach pie on the waitress's recommendation and was blown away. Two good size pies wrapped in lots of flaky, delicious phyllo dough and stuffed with gooey warm spinach and feta. They are clearly homemade and were served with a rice pilaf with a great, homemade red sauce and some seasoned veggies. My wife had an excellent fajita wrap that was served with homemade chips. The service was excellent. Given how difficult it is to get a decent spinach pie in the suburbs, I'm thrilled to have found a place in Novi that nails it. I can't wait to come back.

Stopped in for quick bite mid-afternoon on a Sunday. It was pretty dead in there but they had many carry out orders being picked up when we were there so I figured that was a good sign. As many other Yelpers have mentioned, it's more of a classy coney island/greek restaurant than our local chains around here. It reminds me of the old local family restaurants that were around metro Detroit when I was younger. I had the small greek salad which was a good size for being a small but a size I would expect for the price. I didn't get chicken on it and I think that put it at around $7. I was kind of surprised to not get a pita or bread with it but my willpower was grateful. The ingredients incl. romaine/iceberg, tom., chickpeas, pickled beets, pepperocinis, really good feta cheese and olives. Their homemade greek dressing is one of the best I've had in a long time. It's no wonder why someone came in to buy a bottle. They were kind enough to give me a full new side of dressing for my doggy bag, too! I snuck a fry from my mom's plate, seal of approval for those coated, crispy potatoes. Her gyro looked pretty standard but she enjoyed her meal as well.

New Owners.....Yahoooo Just had a great breakfast here....the eggs were done perfect....the sausage was cooked, Nice portion of Hashbrowns..... The waitress was attentive and the coffee never ran out.....The owner came by to check on us....when checking out, she thanked us for coming in, and mentioned she was the owner, I asked her how long ago, she said 2 years....I didn't know that.....I will definitely be in to try the lunch, and dinner....I didn't like this place, before...... I will be back, she says they will be changing the name to Adriana's Cafe....all the food is homemade and the Gyro Meat is shaved off the shank....not frozen....

I have been going to this place for years for breakfast and dinner. Honey Tree has always had an excellent breakfast. Their hashbrowns are not greasy like most places. You can have a big breakfast without feeling like you're about to have a heart attack. Their dinner menu is large with lots of tasty options. They recently went through a change in ownership, and the food quality has definitely improved. Veggies that were once bland and mushy are now crisp and delicious. If you are looking for an inexpensive, local, family restaurant, Honey Tree is the place to go.

Honestly, I come here all the time just because of the convenience of my grandmother and I can find really nothing to complain about. Whenever I get food it always tastes for the most part good and the owners and waitresses there are some of the nicest people I've met. The only thing I have to say is that the prices can get very ridiculous. Just my grandmother and I will go there and the bill will say 23 dollars! Other than that, the food tastes good and the service is great!

Honey Tree restaurant has been Walter's favorite place to eat the past few months. He has eaten there 17 times, 16 of which he enjoyed the same menu items - Greek Salad & Spinach Pie. Doesn't matter whether for Lunch or Dinner, Greek Salad & Spinach PIe. The Greek Salad has been fresh 16 out of 16 times. The house made dressing is excellent ! With the Salad comes fresh house made bread - two thick slices. The bread is so good, Walter does not even use butter. But, Walter does save part of the second piece of bread to mop up the last bit of salad dressing. The Spinach Pie is fresh house made, two large triangles, light and fluffy brown, its the finest in the town. And, the Spinach Pie comes with Salca Kosi (a.k.a. Tzatiki Sauce). Salca Kosi is the bomb ! This ain't no ordinary tzatiki sauce. Its like Turkish Delight, only made by Albanians. Walter wakes up in the morning with an obsession of the mind. Salca Kosi, Salca Kosi, Salca Kosi,..... Honey Tree has had a new owner since the summer of 2012. The new Honey Tree in no way resembles the old Honey Tree. The old Honey Tree was the Bill Knapps of local coney restaurants - bland food, white haired customers (Walter is now white haired but is the exception to the rule). Today's Honey Tree is owned and operated by the Kalj family of Novi, Michigan. Husband wife team of Robert and Ardiana, and their two offspring, Viktor and Marissa. Readers might be wondering what Walter had the one time he did not get the spinach pie. Well, just a couple of days ago, dinning with partner Jules, Walter had a feisty chicken lawash with fries. Jules had an omelet and hash brown with toast. Walter always finishes his fries first, get em while there hot !!! Walter started in on the chicken wrap, but could not stop thinking about salca kosi. So he ordered a side. The feisty sauce went rather nicely with the salca kosi. Oh, with water to drink, the bill for a wonderful Albanian Greek Salad with fabulous Albanian Bread, and Albanian Spinach Pie, was just over $8, tax included. Walter left a $4 tip.

The first time I had visited this location was well over two years ago and I actually don't recall how my experience was. Due to this reason, my husband and I decided to try it out again a couple months ago during a lunch on the go. We expected it to be similar to an upscale coney, where the food is okay quality yet cheap. My expectations weren't very high, yet this location managed to still fail me. The menu prices were definitely higher than what you'd expect for the food, and the food quality was definitely lower than expected. I ordered breakfast (scrambled eggs, toast, and some bacon) and my eggs were cold and runny and unappetizing. My husband ordered a soup that was disgusting and then ordered a main dish (I believe it was spaghetti or a meatball sandwich) and the marinara was gross. Even after this bad experience, I returned with a group of people for a business meeting and had another terrible meal. I'm not sure I'd be willing to give it another try to see if there is, in fact, something tasty in their menu.

The new owners have done a tremendous job in improving this place. The whole family is involved and you can feel the friendliness as you walk in. The servers are very attentive and always polite. The food is exceptional now.

Honey Tree has been under new ownership for the past several months, and the food and service have improved markedly. This is a solid restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

    1. Never a bad meal. 2. Genuinely great faire at a reasonably good value! 3. Locally owned. 4. Chicken Lemonato with artichokes and rice with capers was head spinning delicious. 5. Wonderful people. I'm a loyal customer and will remain that way for a long time!

Just got home from Honey tree. Probably the worst dining experience I've ever had. We had to stop a waitress to place our order. To our surprise it wasn't our waitress. We waited 20 minutes for the food and I was starving. We ordered a Rueben to split with fries and an order of cheese sticks. First off I am a chef myself and I understand things happen in the industry and I hate to leave negative feedback ever. Once I seen a togo order got served to the door when they put there order in 10 minutes after us I started to get frustrated. When the food finally arrived I was excited. That was soon followed by disappointment. The fries were ice cold, the Rueben had no 1000 island on it and not served on the side. The lower piece of bread was so soggy it felt and looked like buttered bread. The plate on the cheese sticks was 5 times hotter than the sticks them self. Which was served over wilted warm shredded lettuce. The chef came out after I asked the server for fresh fries and asked what the problem was. Unproffesional. She was wearing a dirty apron with her hair down so it was just a horrible experience. Oh yea I got some fresh fries alright. REDROPPED FRIES. Which means they were soaked with grease. When I asked the chef why I didn't get 100 island on or with my sandwich, she said because they had to many complaints. The good news is I didn't pay. There was one lady who was very nice I don't know her name. Not only will I never eat there again. I will not eat at another honey tree again. It was that bad. Good luck staying open. FIND A NEW CHEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been to other HoneyTree locations that are way better than this one. I'm unsure if they are a related franchise at all. I had a gyro and the Avgolemono (lemon rice) soup for a carry out. The tzatziki sauce (if that's what it was) tasted like watered down plain yogurt. No cucumber taste or texture at all. The soup was ok but had way too much lemon in it (and I like lemon). The size of the gyro was small too for the price. I will not be back.

I have not been to this location in over 8yrs. Last time I purposely went in there the place was more like a Coney Island eatery than it is now. It is still American-Greek Food however it seems to have a great appeal to the local Senior Citizens. This morning i went in to kill time and to eat breakfast. Besides myself and the 2 waitresses, everyone else seemed to be over 60yrs old. And there were quite a few of them. To me its a mixed signal - Seniors from my experience like tradition and inexpensive bland food. I ordered some Hot Tea as usual this place does not believe in ND creamer. Its a real shame. I cannot get a cup of coffee anywhere these days. Its very sad that people assume everyone Drinks/Uses Milk. I barely looked over the menu, found a "Lenten Breakfast" since it was Good Friday, I decided why not at least pretend to follow my Catholic upbringing. Not to get too religious, I am what some refer to as a Fallen Catholic. LOL whatever. At least I am not holier than thou. Anywho. this Lenten Breakfast was a sort of Hash - eggwhites, hash brown potatoes, diced tomatoes, spinach, onion, and Monterrey jack cheese. The food came fast and it was actually hot and inexpensive, only $4.35. the Hot Tea was over priced in my book - $1.45 and the lady wouldn't give me a 2nd tea bag unless I paid for it. What a crock. Its frigging Tea for God's Sake. geesh. The hash was bland as bland. Yep its Senior Citizen food... I asked for some Hot Sauce - which they did not HAVE. WTF Hot Sauce in Detroit is practically a Staple. I made do with a lot of old black pepper which didn't have much flavor either. The decor was new. there was nothing offensive except for an oversized TV that was turned on to some Martha Stewart channel. One old couple sat behind me and the old guy spoke what sounded like a combination of German, Russian, Polish, French, English. It was funny - I wasn't purposely eavesdropping but they say right behind my booth. Ok summary - Clean, fresh decor, Cheap Prices, Bland Traditional Greek/American food. Perfect if you are White and Over 60years old.

New Owners on June 1st. They have been awesome. I've had a much better experience since the new owners took over. They pay attention to detail and service is faster. I'm starting to become a regular at this place.

I live around the corner from Honey Tree and I try to avoid it. The food is very nice and always looks and tastes fresh and delicious. The problem I have is their prices. They are very high for this type of restaurant. A hamburger is 6.49 plus .69 for cheese add fries for $1.99 and you get a $9.17 cheeseburger with fries, come on man really Bagger Daves is cheaper. A club sandwich is $7.00 coney dogs are $2.59 each and they aren't all that. These guys fell off the deep end when they published the new menu. This place is classic American / Greek restaurant fare and really not worth the high prices. I hate to pile on but every time my wife picks up our take out she always dismantles the bags do to prior screw ups from young inexperienced staff members. You guys at the tree need to be on point when you charge the prices you do. I still go there out of convenience so like I said the food is tasty.
