One World Market Sushi Bar Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

One of the best Sushi bars/Japanese supermarkets I've even been to. Their sushi is top quality and priced just a little bit cheaper than everyone else too. Items in the supermarket are a little more pricey to offset what you saved getting sushi. There's also another Japanese store next door that sells mostly merchandise and entertainment stuff from Japan. Worth checking out before getting back in your car.

Fresh, fast and cheap. One World has been my favorite sushi spot for years for those three reasons. They have a small sushi bar with room for about 8, and a few booths as well. During lunch they're packed, so expect a wait, or get some to go from the premade cooler. In addition to sushi they have self serve miso for $1.20, and some hot dishes like curry rice, and udon. Everything is delicious and fresh. Free hot tea too!

In a small Asian grocery store. It has about 10 counter seats and 4 or 5 booths. Nothing fancy by way of looks, but oh my is the sushi DELICIOUS!!!!!! Some of the best sushi I've had. Super authentic and fresh. They have serve yourself green tea and miso soup which were also great!

Ordered: Spicy roll combo, Rainbow roll, Alaskan Roll, Curry Udon Price: $47.28 without tip Ambiance: "Restaurant" is to the far left corner of the grocery store although it really operates more like a fast food joint than anything. You grab a sheet at the counter, a menu, and pick your own seat from the 5 booths or ~16 sushi bar seats. You fill out your sheet and hand it to one of the chefs. They'll bring it the food out to you but you bus your own table when you're done and pay at the cashier in the front of the store (i.e. not the register in the restaurant) on your way out. Decorations are thematic and the place generally quiet, they have it decently walled off from the rest of the store so you can eat in relative peace. Staff were pretty quiet, possibly from a language barrier. Food: First thing is first, Noble Fish is better than this place. Yes both are similar but in that they don't do 'fancy' rolls and stick to the basics but everything from the quality of the fish to the execution of the rice was just a shade below par. That is not to say that this place was bad by any means. The fish had decent flavor but it wasn't melt in your mouth tender like some of the best sushi joints I've been to. The rice was a touch undercooked the day we went, being slightly grainy. We also had one roll where the seaweed was somewhat chewy. For the rolls themselves, the spicy tuna was the best. The roll had good flavor and they use whole tuna chunks instead of mashing it into a paste like other places. The rainbow roll was OK, they did add their version of coleslaw to it which was interesting/refreshing but I felt it distracted from the flavor of the fish. The alaskan roll was solid, no complaints there. The curry udon was also super yummy with perfectly cooked udon and a flavorful curry broth laden with beef, carrots and potatoes. Overall, this place is good and exactly what I would expect. It is not a high-end place, instead, it is a restaurant in a grocery store that probably uses the fish the store sells. I wasn't blown away by anything nor was anything really bad, the prices were also reasonable. I wouldn't mind coming back here but it certainly isn't my favorite place.

Love the food but they never have time to take a take out order over the phone. Called at 1pm to place lunch order and they said they were too busy. "Call back in 1hour". Too many good sushi places in the area to put up with that crap. If they don't want my business, I'll take it elsewhere. They shouldn't turn away business, they should hire more staff.

Best sushi I've had since leaving NYC. The 5 stars is based completely on the food. The dine-in experience can leave a little to be desired. It's pretty much cafeteria style. Small cafeteria style. It gets slammed from Noon-1:30 during the week. Quality of the sushi is unparalleled by any place I've tried in the metro Detroit area. Prices are extremely reasonable. You're not going to get 75 options for rolls like you can at some places, but what they do they do well. Definitely will be back. Definitely worth checking out.

ah, a great complement to ajishin across the street. udon at ajishin, cheap delicious sushi at one world market sushi bar. Had the salmon bowls and they were great, and like 5 bucks. It isn't fancy but I'm not there for fancy. I'm there for deliciousness and value.

I'm not a sushi connoisseur, but this was easily some of the best sushi I've eaten. Pros- Sushi, Value Cons- small dining area, no waitresses (some may not like that) Let me walk you through the process of dining here so you don't feel like a tourist. If you want any drinks, other than water, buy them from the marketplace and then go to the dining area. Get in line to find a seat (I'm assuming there will be a line) or just park at one of the booths or sushi bar if your lucky. Make sure you grab an ordering form and mark off what you want. I suggest doing it when you are waiting. Once you are seated, hand the form to one of the cooks and your food will be ready shortly. Eat, Love it, then pay for your sushi back in the market. We had the spicy combo platter. It was really good. We also ordered the Michigan Roll, which is a special roll. It was unreal and huge! I'm craving it just thinking about it. This place is the real deal and I highly suggest scoping it out. There is also a prepared section as well if you are on the go. I feel like this place is kind of a well kept secret. While I would love to keep this secret all to myself, Yelp really does need to eat here.

Best sushi bar in Detroit area. I tried Nobel fish, it really disappointed me. One World never let me down, not a single time!

We had just enough of a wait to figure out what rolls to order and scope out the premade section. This being our first time we wanted something familar so went with the Spicy Roll Combo that included a spicy CA, tuna, and salmon. We also selected something different that I spotted in the case, a Special MI Roll with brown rice. I was very happy with the size, taste, and quality of our rolls. The MI roll was the star of this lunch feast - I highly recommend it! If you don't already know, it's an inside out roll that contains a ton of spicy salmon, avocado, cucumber and some other tastiness for $9.95. Everything seemed to be reasonably priced and consistent with other places though I'm not up to speed on the cost of sushi restaurants. Drinks like water & tea are self serve or you can purchase a drink in the market and bring it in to dine. Soups are also self serve. You can also bring pre-purchased prepared food into the restaurant area to eat if you're short on time.

This place takes 'hidden gem' to the next level. It's a really cool, little place, extra emphasis on -little-. Went here on a limb with my family for a birthday lunch, and the 45 minute drive was worth it (thanks, Yelp!) The parking lot was almost full, and both the market and the sushi bar were crowded. After a short wait we seated ourselves. Grab the ordering sheets when you sit. After giving our order sheets to the chefs, we got our food about 10-15 minutes later, not bad. Since the sushi bar is foodcourt-esque, don't expect any table side service. You get your own drinks and clear your own table, which is fine (don't have to tip except the chefs). By far the best sushi I've ever had. Good proportions, great prices. I've never seen a sushi place able to price large rolls at less than 9 dollars. The ingredients were very fresh, and you could taste each one distinctively. Definitely will be come back when I'm in the area.

This Sushi joint is small and absolutely no frills. Get a white sushi order sheet, fill it out and hand it to a chef. When you are done eating, take it to the cash register at the front of the market and pay. Be aware that you may be waiting for a seat during peak hours. The occupancy sign on the wall says "33". Which is pretty accurate with only 5 booths and chairs at the bar. I would have to say for the freshness of the Sushi, this is the cheapest quality place I have ever been to. And I consider myself a Sushinut. You can generally base pricing of places off of their California roll. That will give you an idea of the overall pricing of their Sushi menu. Simple! Here the California roll is $3.50, which is extremely cheap compared to other places which are usually $5+ The Miso soup is probably one of the most flavorful I have ever had. It is self serve and the bowls they provide are very large compared to other establishments. The best part? Its only $1.20 a bowl. Free water (duh) is available in hot or cold. There are also free green tea bags available to enjoy some hot tea. You must check this place out. The small eating area is trumped by the quality of the food and pricing. Be sure to check out the Japanese product stocked market that this is located in, after you eat. Very cool stuff and great prices.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. It is located inside of the Japanese market, One World Market. You get a sushi order sheet, fill it out, & hand it to the chef. There is also a book filled with pictures of the sushi rolls. Big plus for that. You know exactly what you are ordering before you order it. I ordered: - Red wing roll ($6.75) - Alaskan roll ($5.25) - Spicy Salmon Bowl ($5.95) - 2 pieces of sweet shrimp nigiri ($2.00 per piece) - 1 piece of uni nigiri ($3.00 per piece) All of the rolls were delicious and fulfilling. I love it that they do not over kill the sushi roll with sauce. The fish is amazingly fresh. I was truly impressed with this place. There is also complimentary green tea. After you are done eating, just go to register to pay. Please tip because the staff are hardworking people. A few dollars goes a long way. The only flaw is the wait time. This is probably because this place is so popular for a small place with little staff. However, the staff makes up for it with incredibly friendly service. For the quality and quantity, this place cannot be beat. I will definitely be back. This is my favorite sushi joint in Metro-Detroit.

Whenever I'm in the area I have HAVE to stop at One World for sushi. Doesn't matter how recently I've eaten or plan to eat. The lure of that fresh, melt in your mouth sushi is enough to get me skidding into the parking lot. Yes, the fish is the freshest I've had just about anywhere (maybe next to their sister biz Noble Fish). Here I keep my rolls simple so I can really taste and enjoy the options. No need to fill it up with sauces, cream cheese, etc. This seafood stands on its own legs. My faves? Simple nigiri. Belly tuna and salmon. The salmon, you guys! Buttery and perfect. The Yellow tail and onion? Also a fave. If I feel fancy I go for the spicy tuna. That's about as decked out as I go. Let the fish shine through. Prices are great, especially considering the quality. It's very casual so while you'll get a kick ass meal you won't be coming into some frou frou sushi joint. A few booths, bar seating, styrofoam cups, a crock pot with miso soup....that's what you'll get here. Unpretentious and perfect. Aside from the sushi this market is also really great. Lots of fantastic Asian food staples and that beautiful sushi grade seafood that you can get to go if you want to make it at home yourself (or you just want to eat a whole plate of raw salmon on your own like I am likely to do).

It is a sushi bar located inside of a Japanese Market. It is a brother sushi bar with noble fish. I like this place better because there are more spaces/chairs vs noble fish where the space is really limited. There is a wide selection sushi rolls that you can select from. I ordered spider roll and regular udon. the sushi roll is absolutely AMAZING. Each ingredient is really fresh and the rice is fresh(the amount of vinegar is just right) the udon is awesome as well. The texture of udon is reall chewy and the broth is fresh/has right amount of salt. Overall, all the price for sushi are really reasonable. It is cheaper than most of sushi bars that i have been to. I would definitely come back again.

Yum, and Yum. Tiny market with tiny sushi area, totally worth it. Prices are good and the sushi fresh and in large portions. As my pal Katie D says, plan ahead and order. I waited about 20 minutes but it was totally worth it, while I grabbed some Pocky for dessert. No frills here, just great sushi and made fresh if you are willing to wait a bit.

This place has the best sushi for the price hands down, my mother can't even eat sushi from Japan compared to this. They are fast, cheap and quality all at once. I would recommend this place to anyone, simply the best. My favorites are the shrimp and cheese roll, Philadelphia, and the salmon bowl.

Sushi here was so good! Simple and fresh, although it wasn't the quickest. Mostly self service but a real hidden gem.

My go to sushi in southeastern Michigan. This is a special gem hidden at the corner inside a Japanese super market. Don't be fooled by the "fast food" appearance. Their sushi is fresh and delicious. Menu is somewhat limited but they have the core goods when it comes to getting your sashimi/nigiri fix on. Price is very good for the quality that you get. They are usually busy and the tables are usually full so I get it to go. If you plan to dine in its a self-bus lay out. Don't recommend this place if you are trying to bring someone on a date but if you want good sushi this is one of the best in Michigan.

This nice little sushi place is right inside a Japanese grocery market. They had a large selection of sushi choices and other entrees as well. My friend introduced this place to me and insisted that I try their curry rice. The menu didn't specify what protein is in the curry, but once I tasted it, I knew it was lamb. Nonetheless the type of protein, I love all curry. The curry had lamb, potatoes, and carrots. I loved the one shrimp tempura they give for the entree. It was so crispy and lightly battered. I also got an order of the Michigan roll, which was generously portioned. Everything was so fresh and made amazingly. The prices were definitely on par, not overpriced and cheaper than most of the larger sushi restaurants, though quality is equally as great. It's enough for a good meal. Definitely a go to place the next time I am in the area. Nice and simple place.

This place (and its sister establishment, Nobel Fish) probably has the freshest and most authentic sushi in Michigan. The sushi is well prepared and delicious. The typical 'Americanized' rolls are reasonable but the nigiri sushi can be expensive since the price are for single piece and not a pair. At $2+ for a piece of nigiri sushi can add up quickly, a $30 tab for me alone is not uncommon. Still a great place for me to get my authentic sushi fix however. The service is meh. You filled out a sheet as to what you want and then they'll serve you after it's done. I had to wait for almost twenty minutes once because my order sheet got shuffled around. They need to come up with a better system. The place is attached to a Japanese supermarket so you can actually go and pick up a bento box or a sashimi tray and pay for it at the cash register then take it to the dining area and eat them with your sushi. A four stars for the food, could be five but for the price and service.

So, this place is good- but NOT NOBLE FISH good (it's the atmosphere and food). I was on the search for a hole in the wall Sushi place. It did the job- except I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I'm going to try Ajishin next time, given all the reviews. Pros: -Spicy Roll Combo (3 rolls of Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salon, and Spicy California Rolls) for $7 Dollars- best deal -Red Wing Rolls- Shrimp Tempura and topped with Spicy Tuna/Avocado--- one of best rolls here! -Nigiri is generally good except I really like my fish cold. This was a little too room temperature for me. - Miso Soup (self serve) Cons: - Gets busy, but there is a decent amount of booths/sushi table space. - Atmosphere is friendly, but not like it's sister restaurant Noble fish. It lacks energy Remember to clean your own station and put away the dishes!

This restaurant is conveniently located in the back of One World Market. This small and authentic Japanese sushi bar is adorable. All the workers speak Japanese and English so you can order with ease. It's a self order type restaurant so you grab a sheet and fill out the items you want then turn it into the sushi chef. They have boxed combos in the market that you can buy and eat in the restaurant as well. We ordered the spicy roll combo and a curry udon. The sushi was very fresh and not too spicy which is good for me cause I'm a weak sauce. The curry udon was very flavorful. The noodles were cooked thoroughly so it was nice and soft. The broth was very good and it came with potatoes and beef cubes. I wish I had more time to explore their other menu options.

I used to make the trek from Farmington Hills to Clawson on the east side for "the best sushi in metro Detroit" from Noble Fish. I just discovered One World Market, their sister store, and I am so happy! I now name: - Noble Fish "Best Sushi in Metro Detroit - East Side" - One World Market "Best Sushi in Metro Detroit - West Side" Fresh fish, master sushi chefs, and great udon, too! TIP: Call ahead about 45 minutes to do take-out during busy times because I wandered around the grocery store section for around ~50 minutes the first time I went and ordered take-out in person.

I went to One World yesterday to eat with a few friends and it was an enjoyable experience as usual. You take a pen, order sheet and a menu to a booth, mark down what you want and bring it to the cash register. They will take your order and prepare it while you grab your own eating materials near the back of the area. I ordered the spicy salmon bowl, red wing roll, spicy combo and the Alaskan roll. All were very delicious and fresh. The staff are nice and when the place is crowded, service can be quite slow but it's a great place for some fresh seafood.

One World Market is by far my favorite Japanese grocery store and sushi bar. I have been going here for years and never had a bad experience, just the guilty conscience of spending good and authentic Japanese food. The sushi bar provides an inviting atmosphere and the sushi chefs are skilled beyond belief. The sushi/sashimi selections are extensive and almost impossible to choose from. I recently had the tofu roll and it was divine. Hot tea is always at no cost. Thinking of Japanese fast food for lunch? Try the convenience of their to-go cuisine selections. My favorites include freshly made to-go sushi, most especially spicy tuna, spicy shrimp and assorted nigiri. The bento boxes are excellent, superior-quality and delicious. Japanese desserts and sweets like daifukumochi and Japanese cakes are also offered. Their well-known sushi trays are always a lifesaver for company potlucks and family parties; just call them ahead of time to order, expect at least 30 minutes and it's ready. If you happen to have a little spare time, try to walk around the grocery store. I call it my little Tokyo. You will be surprised how much stuff they actually have. Compared to other Asian grocery stores, the place is always clean and the aisles are organized and well stocked. They have the best seafood selection, from the most exotic to astonishing. My personal choice for a nice, home-cooked dinner would include ahi (yellowfin) tuna, fresh octopus and baby squid from their shelves. I know its unorthodox but they are delectable for almost any cuisine. They sell fresh produce and frozen seafood too. It's a pescetarian's paradise. Hosting a sushi party for the weekend? One World Market is the store for you. They have everything you need including cookware to create one successful and unforgettable sushi party. Your guests may actually learn something and have fun doing it. Don't forget the traditional Japanese saké. The have a huge assortment of Japanese rice-based alcoholic beverage and Japanese beer. Overall, my knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culture has flourished over time because of One World Market.

My husband and I were sad to leave the east side of Detroit because Noble Fish in Clawson is AMAZING for seafood, but I was happy to find that One World Market in Novi is owned by the same people! The quality of the sushi is fabulous - tempura shrimp is always fresh and crunchy, the spicy tuna has the perfect amount of heat, and the seaweed and squid salads are seasoned perfectly. My husband and I made it a point to go there almost every week, and they never disappoint. I recently tried the salmon bowl and it is a great little meal! Also, there is a huge selection of fresh, frozen, and prepackages items to buy in their market - really a great place and I always take my sushi loving friends there!

  • Edy M.

The sushi here is just ok. The fish is ok but the nigiri is not put together by someone who really knows what they are doing. Rolls fall apart and if you use soy sauce, the rice might not hold together. I have heard that this place is owned by Noble Fish in Clawson and I would have to say that would surprise me because the quality is no where near as good. I have started going right down the street to Ajishin, which was DELICIOUS! It is a bit pricier, but worth it!

  • Ashley B.

Best damn sushi in Detroit! By far my favorite place to eat sushi. Its clean, fairly cheap and the chefs behind the counter are the real thing. I started eating sushi here in 2003, back then it was a unknown place that a few Asian friends from A2 knew about. After stuffing yourself full of deliciousness, you can peruse the market and discover cool and different Japanese.

  • Christina K.

This is the sushi bar that's inside One World Market. I've been coming here for years and it is by far one of the best places to get really fresh sushi. Also the prices are not as expensive as some other places in the area since they're located inside a store that has their own fish counter. They also have little freebies such as mini salads with ginger dressing or seaweed salad for dining in the sushi bar. They also have a miso soup station set up and all you do is put $1 in a jar and you ladle yourself a good portion of it. Or if you don't have the time to eat inside you can always pick up pre-made sushi packs they have set up right outside of the sushi bar. If you're ever in the area I recommend that you stop by and give this place a whirl. And you could even get all the ingredients to throw your own sushi party!

When I CRAVE sushi...I need it NOW. The sushi is not the best I have ever had, but it's very good. You won't spend $100USD to satisfy your craving....more like $20USD. My favorite part of this experience is the Japanese grocery store. After some fresh belly tuna, pick up some of the best fish in town. Enjoy!

An extension of the fabulous Noble fish in Clawson, but bigger. If you're looking for a full size Japanese grocery store with a restaurant/seating area that also serves up items that are hard to find outside of Japanese, this is it! Karaage, katsudon, Ramen, Croquettes are just a few things to try.

Great sushi at rock bottom prices, what else could you ask for. We went in market one day looking for Japanese bubble pop for my child and decided to check out the sushi. What a great surprise. The sushi is fresh. Prompt service. You take your bill up to the cash registers at the front of the supermarket.

  • Alesha S.

The sushi here is edible, but it is not delicious. The fish is fresh but manhandled and not the best quality, the rice is fine but loosely rolled, and the flavors are dull. If you are used to good sushi, or authentic sushi (like that found in Japan or California), you will be disappointed. Some of the workers in the sushi bar were Japanese, but the one who made my food was Filipino and it was obvious he's not trained like a master.

  • Jen Z.

Forget fancy restaurants. The sushi here is all you need! I've tried all kinds of sushi bars/restaurants around Ann Arbor and Metro Detroit, and this is the best. Well, they do have a sister store in Clawson (Noble Fish), which could very well be just as great. :) Helpful tip: the company's website only has the sushi menu online right now, but they do serve other items! If you're in a rush, just let them know-- they're very accomodating. Or, just grab some packaged sushi that they make fresh for the grocery store.

Hands down this place offers the freshest, most delicious, creative and reasonably priced sushi in the area. Maybe even the whole metro Detroit area! I won't say that too confidently as I do not even pretend to be an aficionado of sushi, but my sushi loving family has been coming here exclusively for years. Some favorites are the shrimp tempura roll, the Michigan roll (raw salmon with a spicy mayo and cucumber with a little sprinkling of parsley- perfection!) the spicy shrimp roll, and of course the California roll. We usually just do carry out here, but yesterday my mom and I decided to eat in. I am glad we did! The sushi bar kind of looks like it's plucked right from Tokyo- very minimal with neatly lined chairs at the "bar" and booths lining the wall opposite. Every station is equipped with soy sauce and chop sticks, and there is even a pot that holds miso soup that you can serve yourself a generous portion of for $1!!! If you are a sushi lover, you MUST check out the Sushi Bar @ One World Market.

Don't be mesmerized by the rave reviews of this place. The food is just ordinary. The sushi rice is just bearable, and most of the fish is o.k. The salmon, however, tends to be great. Loved their bowls of rice and fish, like Chirashi etc.

Great friendly service and authentic food. Some of their best rolls are not on the menu so think creative. Excellent stop for lunch.

The sushi here is excellent! This place has the freshest sushi and the service is quick. I really like their self serve miso soup and they have some nice green tea to drink with your sushi. Since they are inside of One World Market I always end up doing some grocery shopping afterwards. If you are ever stop by for some sushi, try the strawberry mochi ice cream in the frozen section of the grocery store. It's a great dessert!

Great sushi, and I've eaten a lot of sushi. Super quick service, and you cannot beat the prices. If you don't care about the surroundings (it's not a restaurant), I strongly recommend you give it a try.

Nothing better! We continue to look for quality sushi in the area, but nothing compares to One World Market. Delicious sushi at reasonable prices!

  • Kevin N.

If you're looking to initiate someone in to the world of sushi, look no further. Incredibly fresh fish, very low prices, a selection of "cooked" ingredients, and an unpretentious environment all come together well here. The only downside is when you go to a restaurant for sushi and wish you had paid half as much for sushi twice as good at One World. Keep in mind though, sushi is an art form, and despite the heathens who will say "It's just raw fish! How long does it take?", if you expect something made to order on the spot, expect to wait, if you're not there when business is slow. Around holidays, expect a wait of 30 minutes or more if you're getting take-out. By the way... this is a *good* thing, because you know their stock moves quickly. In the decade or so that I've been going, I've never once had an experience where freshness was questionable.

Honestly if you're within 10 miles of this place, you have to go. No questions asked. Great quality sushi, great price and fast chefs. Their salmon & avocado roll is massive. Miso soup is always fresh and tasty. Only downfall (if you'd call it that) is it's not really a sit down place. Its in the back of a market

  • Lin L.

I moved to Michigan about half year ago and I don't remember how many times I have been to One World sushi place already. My favorite is the salmon oyako bowl, for less than $6 you get a bowl of rice, dried fish, salmon roe and of course 2 pieces of salmon sashimi. The curry rice is also delicious, the curry sauce is not too salty and it came with a fried shrimp. The sushi combo is decent compare to Noble Fish, Ajishin and most Japanese restaurants in the area. The sashimi is great but sometimes the chef forgot to press it firmly with the rice. Overall, it's a great restaurant, the staffs are nice and polite.

Holy Sashimi! Took my better half out to lunch one afternoon and we both wanted Screwshi... After looking up a couple places and deciding we wanted something different we came across this place on Yelp. It's located inside a grocery store or "Market". A couple things you should know. Since it's located inside the Market you have to get any drinks that aren't water or hot tea, from outside the Sushi bar and from the Market coolers. There is no waiter service. You walk in the bar area, grab a menu and pen and find a seat. Fill out your menu and give it to someone behind the counter. The worst thing however is that they don't allow alcohol in the sushi bar area. I noticed a small sign on each table that stated such. So just a heads up. Now as far as the food. WOW. The nigiri was soft, succulent and soft as butter. Nothing was warm or cold, everything was room temperature as it should be. We had our usual, Rainbow Roll, Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna and etc. But we tried a new one, the Novi Roll. Not sure what was in it, think I tasted cooked beef but it was bad ass. The rolls were solid, you picked them up and they stayed together. Fantastic. It's hard to describe just how good this place is but It's definitely one of the best Sushi places I've ever been to. Once you're finished with your meal you pick up your plates, toss your trash and take your filled out menu up to the Market cashiers. Don't forget to leave a tip for the Chefs, they deserve it! Lastly, when I went it was packed and when I finally got a seat, I noticed the guy that was sitting there before me was sick. If you're sick please stay the fuck home. I'm not sick because my immune system is outstanding. However the fact that I had to sit where his disgusting ass sat did not please me. So like I said, if you're sick and probably can't taste the food anyways... Stay The Fuck Home.

The only thing that makes this place shy of 5 stars is that it isn't as great as Noble FIsh, even though it has the same owners. This is a hidden gem, truly! It is a little sushi bar in the back of a Japanese Market in the middle of Novi. The food is fresh and delicious, and the staff are wonderful. It is nothing fancy, but it's clean and offers great lunch specials, as well as cooked options, such as curry rice and udon, for those who aren't into raw sushi. I make a point to come here as often as possible, even if it's out of the way.

The sushi is really well done-- super fresh and flavorful. The prices are very reasonable. I wish I lived closer; I would go here all the time! The best thing ever is to go here and gorge yourself on delicious sushi and then mosey across the street to Pastry House Hippo for some red bean buns and other sweets.

I now go to One World Market once a week. I get the same thing every time because I live in a rut, but I brought my picky dad here and he also liked it. They have lunch specials and a case of food in front of the sushi bar where you can pick out salads or other prepared items. There is a microwave in case you want to warm anything up as well.

Definitely not what I expected when I first ate here. I mean it's a sushi bar in a grocery store! Now I think the idea is ingenious. I have brought many friends here and I honestly love that it is somewhat of a hole in the wall. I have enjoyed everything I have eaten here. It can be a bit self served at times cause you have to get your own drink and write your order and give it to the sushi chef because there is no real wait staff but I don't mind it because everything is fresh and prepared expertly. I'm craving sushi right now as I write this ha.

This really is a confusing place to go as they don't tell you at the counter when you are ordering they will b ring the food to your table. I guess you have to have been there before. They don't speak a lot of English. Be aware of that. Sushi is good but not great. Try Happy Sushi (also in Novi) instead at the same price but better service and quality.

This place has wrecked us from going to any other sushi restaurant. It is amazing!!! Simply the best sushi I have ever had. Keep up the good work guys!!!

I don't think that the comparisons to Noble Fish do Noble Fish justice. I LOVE Noble Fish but I find the sushi quality at One World Market mediocre. It's not terrible, but it's not AMAZING like Noble Fish is.

I'm relatively new to sushi as I've only been eating it from restaurants for two or three years now. Prior to that I had it every once in awhile in large party trays from supermarkets. If you're someone who has only had supermarket or buffet sushi, do yourself a favor and try One World Market's sushi. It's above and beyond what you'll find at the prior mentioned places. If you've never been here, or to any similar ordering style sushi bars, you may be a little confused when ordering for the first time. First, grab yourself a pen, menu, and sheet of their "ordering sheet" which looks somewhat like an inventory list. Take these back to your counter seats or booth. Browse the menu and decide what items you'd like. Be aware that there may be items that are on the ordering list but are not pictured in the menu. On the order sheet, write your name and mark whether your order is dine-in or carry out. Then, mark how many of the items that you'd like to order. Take this up to the counter and hand it to one of the sushi chefs. Then, wait for your food. It will be handed over the counter to you if you're at the counter, and will be delivered to you if you're in a booth. Some of my favorites are the shrimp tempura roll, Red Wing roll, California special roll, spicy shrimp roll, and their udon. The shrimp tempura roll is a good roll to try if you've never had sushi before and are used to American foods. It's basically a deep fried shrimp roll. The Red Wing roll is a deluxe version of the shrimp tempura roll. The California special is a simple California roll except that the crab is shredded instead of in stick form. The spicy shrimp is just how it sounds; shrimp with a spicy sauce. It should be noted that this is one of their 'large' rolls and are considerably larger than normal rolls. Lastly, udon is Japanese noodle soup. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Overall I think this is the best sushi place in western Oakland county. So it's inside the one world market grocery store, and you need to look for it, it's to the right near the back. They have a great and fresh selection of sushi as well as other Japanese lunch offerings. These items are made up fresh everyday, with the best selection available before noon, and by 5pm, there is a limit selection. You can neither take the sushi to the cashier and take it home or take it into the small sushi bar. So besides the prepared sushi just outside the market, at the sushi bar they have Miso soup, and beverages, and they have other sushi and sashimi options they can make for you. When I work in Novi, I would get lunch here at least 2-3 a month, now I make a special trip just to get my sushi fix. I recommend the fresh water eel roles.

Don't be lame like me. I missed the sushi bar several times, not realizing that there was an entryway to the left of the pre-made sushi case! I have eaten the ready-to-go sushi and ordered. Both have been great. The ready-to-go is much fresher than at any of the local grocery stores, and the made-to-order is even better, as it should be. They have a wide variety and take orders for parties.

The place is great! Just in the back of the market, so when you enter head to the back left. The sushi is very good and pretty cheap. Think I've been here about 4 or 5 times one of the occasions around dinner time it was very crowded so my girlfriend and I took seats at the bar. You just come in grab a order sheet, fill it out then hand it to one of the chefs, and they bring out the plate to you. When you are done you put your plate in the bus tub then take the sheet to the checkout. I was a little confused myself at first. Great Place, Good Sushi.

Excellent Sushi!!! Always fresh and very consistent. Staff is friendly, but communication can be a tad difficult at times...but not a huge deal. The are all polite. I love the spicy tuna roll! My wife and I have been here 100+ times, always great sushi. At the busy times you might have to wait for a table (I think there are six tables and around 12 sushi bar stools. Don't be afraid to sit at the bar! HIGHLY recommend if your in the area!!

Try the Novi roll! The salmon here is also some of the best I've ever had. I really loved the food here, though I admit I was a little nervous walking into the back of the market to a restaurant the quality and cleanliness was superb. The staff was also very accommodating to a few of the more picky customers I heard ordering. If you are looking for a date or upscale environment I wouldn't eat here, but if you want amazing food served in a reasonable time or want to bring something back to your house, you're in luck. I'm pretty picky when it comes to fish and grew up on the east coast in Rhode Island so when I say this sushi is worth a shot I hope you do your taste buds a favor and try out some of the spectacular rolls here.

The best sushi I've ever had, hands down. I've been coming here for a couple years now and have never been disappointed. I once ordered the wrong roll and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was, definitely a happy accident. They sadly no longer seem to offer free samples for some reason, which is a shame because it got me to branch out from the safety of the California roll. Great food, great prices and friendly sushi chefs.

Unfortunately every time I've been to Michigan my return flights were cancelled. First due to Sandy and then again because of Nemo. To cope with the reality that I would not be home for a few more days I turned to my one and only love, food. A colleague of mine suggested I make the drive from Novi to Clawson and check out Noble Fish. I checked the reviews and made sure to get there early to avoid a long wait. Got there just before the rush and snagged one of the last few seats at the bar. Everything was amazing. I took my time enjoying the food and chatted up the chefs and other patrons at the bar. I discovered One World Market on the Noble Fish website. It was their Novi location only a mile from my hotel! The experience was similar, a Japanese market with a sushi bar hidden in the back. The food was also on par with Noble Fish. I originally wanted to review Noble Fish but that place already has enough rave reviews so this place is getting some love. The next time there is a big storm I'll be flying to DTW and binging on sushi.

Love their sushi! They are probably the best sushi place I've been to. Try finding a place on weekends and you'll know exactly what I mean. Also don't forget to grab a cup of their miso soup while you're waiting for your sushi to be made! And while you're at it, enjoy the free green tea as well!

The Noble Fish of the Westside! Wow! I really loved this place! Much larger than Noble, OWM has a lot to offer but today I was there to try the well touted sushi at their sushi bar. It's laid out as 4-6 booths along the wall and a long sushi bar with around 10 seats I'd guess. The restaurant was clean and set up to run very smoothly. Grab a sushi menu, mark what you'd like to order, turn it in and within a couple minutes a beautiful plate of perfectly executed and perfectly fresh tasting sushi is handed over the glass (or sit at a booth and they'll bring it out to you straight away). If you're thirsty grab a cup of complimentary water from their water cooler or pick up something from the grocery to enjoy. I ordered my normal litmus test...tuna, white tuna, toro (not available that day), tomago/omelet, eel and a Spicy Tuna Roll. I couldn't have been more pleased with what their chefs made me. The fish was appropriately room temperature and firm. The tuna melted in my mouth and while the white tuna was slightly stringy it was still really nice. The tomago was sweet, but not overly, and it was the perfect texture. The eel was a nice meaty cut and it was maybe the best eel I've had recently. Finally the Spicy Tuna was spot on and it was chock full almost as if they had topped of each individual roll piece with a little more filling after slicing it. Service was stellar and all the sushi chefs were full of smiles, very friendly and very fluid which is always a good sign. Prices were incredibly reasonable and at the end of lunch you just need to run your order form to the cashier in the grocery, pay and be on your way. Just don't forget to run a tip back to your hosts. I really can't wait to come back here! My only hope is that it's consistently as good as it was this first time.

I loved this place but yesterday.. respected this place as well as a Japanese authenticated.. I had tuna and salmon sushi, but they seemed too small to fit the sushi rice. Uploaded the picture on yelp how they looked that tuna were torn and salmon were stretched. I suggest, if the restaurant wants to control of the amount of fish, reduce the size of rice. However, for recent extreme conpetitions for sushi restaurants. I doubt it works out. See competitors in the area, Ajishin and Ichiban, how they make the sushi and serve them to customers. We trust we are not paying all you can eat sushi level at any dine in restaurant. I gave one star because fish quality (material) is the best quality but product sushi is the opposite!

I wish the place was 4 times bigger! The food is great and the price isn't bad but the hours are short and the ambience is less than ideal. You are eating inside a market. Nothing really thrilling about that.

My husband and I have been coming here for years, and him by himself has been going here for even longer. We are loyal when we like something, and let me tell you - we really quite like this place! I like to stop by at the One World Market whenever we are in the area, just to browse and sometimes with an actual purpose of finding ingredients necessary for dinner. When we stop in, often we decide to head to the side/back of the store and grab some lunch at the built-in sushi bar. Hidden behind coolers with pre-made sushi and salads in a cool little nook is a teeny tiny sushi bar which you can easily pass, without knowing what you're about to be missing. The restaurant consists of maybe 10 bar seats and 5 booths all together, and it can get busy during lunch time. You order off of a sheet with sushi items, marking how much of each you would like (pretty standard). Then you hand this sheet off to the personnel, and they will put in the order. Once finished with your meal, you will have to take your order form up to the store registers for check out. They have hot, fresh miso soup in the back of the restaurant (self serve) as well as hot tea and a watercooler. All the standard sushi fare is represented, favorites of ours here include the spicy california, avocado, pickled radish, asparagus, tamagoyaki, unagi and inari. They are open until 7pm 7 days a week.

Fresh, excellently prepared sushi available at the bar or cheaply priced as takeout in a handful of varieties either as rolls or boxes. I don't get terribly adventurous outside of that, but I've never has a bad experience sticking with the nigiri lunch or any roll. Love this place.

Having been to Noble Fish for yrs, I was happy to know their sister store was right around the corner from me! This is my go-to place for sushi, and I have recommended this place to everyone I know that lives in the area. Everything is made to order and fresh. I have never had a bad experience here, and will keep coming back. If you love tuna, I suggest ordering the Michigan Roll - spicy deliciousness! I also love how the sushi bar is tied to a grocery store (just like Noble Fish), and love the variety of things you can buy from Japanese candies to beauty products. Did I mention that the sushi is reasonably priced? Best.place .ever!

It lacks energy Remember to clean your own station and put away the dishes!

ah, a great complement to ajishin across the street. udon at ajishin, cheap delicious sushi at one world market sushi bar. Had the salmon bowls and they were great, and like 5 bucks. It isn't fancy but I'm not there for fancy. I'm there for deliciousness and value.

I have always loved this place, it is a hidden gem inside of the Japanese grocery store. The sushi has always been top notch here. I've been going here for at least 10 yrs and it has always been top notch. Keep up the good work!

I don't think that the comparisons to Noble Fish do Noble Fish justice. I LOVE Noble Fish but I find the sushi quality at One World Market mediocre. It's not terrible, but it's not AMAZING like Noble Fish is.

  • Christine B.

  • Joel R.

  • Chelsea H.

  • Tiffany B.

  • Ed G.

    (2)
  • Liz D.

  • Christina G.

  • R S.
