As much as I enjoy non food chains, it's definitely a hit or miss. Having never stepped foot into a bar Louie or better yet never having heard of it prior to moving to the Midwest, it sounded like a fun night out with coworkers. We went on a Friday night after work to grab a couple happy hour martinis and apps. The place is pretty sizable with a large centrally located bar, TV's facing every which way throughout the space, and outdoor patio seating. We were seated promptly after arriving, and being a large group out on a Thursday night during happy hour this was a definite win. Their martinis, appetizers, and flatbreads were all half off so we ordered family style and got a little bit of everything. I started with an Effen Good Martini. This was one of the most refreshing martinis I've had in a while and the alcohol to agave and lime juice ratio was perfect (I hate when bartenders are shiesty with their alcohol). It wasn't too sweet or too sour, and the cucumber and mint really shine through, it's perfection in a glass. And because It was so delicious I kept drinking them all night long. While indulging in our martinis the food began to come out. We had an array Of fried calamari served with a side of cocktail and creamy Tartar like sauce, hot and fresh pretzel sticks that came with a side of cinnamon apple butter and hot cheese dip, fresh bruschetta, and spinach artichoke dip. While everything sounds pretty standard for bar food, having the different condiments for the appetizers, presentation considerations, and having fresh elements within the dishes took their food above and beyond a standard chain restaurant. On top of surprisingly good food their service has always been on par, the servers are knowledgable, and you can't beat half off prices!

This is a great Bar Louie! I try to come here as much as I can on Tuesday nights, they have the $1 Burger deal when you purchase any beverage. It is such a great deal to have a good size burger for only a buck. The waitresses are always nice and I order two of the burgers. You can also pick from a Chicken Breast or a Veggie option, both are still the $1 price. This Bar Louie is always clean, and the atmosphere is always friendly. This is another reason why I like going to this Bar Louie out of all the others.

Happy hour prices are great on draft beer, apps and flatbreads. Apps are decent but nothing I drool over. Tempura shrimp, pretzel sticks, chicken quesadilla are among my consistent go-tos. In fact, the chicken quesadilla I had during HH yesterday just might have been the best I've had there (used to be regular HH goers 2011-2012). Aside from that, I wouldn't pay full price for anything that I've had here recently or in years past; there are many more choices in or outside of Fountain Walk for quality food. There is plenty of bar seating and tables for large groups. There is also a nice patio/outdoor lounge setting if you can catch it on a nice summer day in MI.

Ok this place is loud, crowded & the food is pricey. All that being said it is a go to spot for happy hour, although it is very busy we can normally find a spot to sit, you can always catch the game on a TV, as they are all over the bar. The draft selection is second to none but the staff is hit and miss. I normally only stop by for beer or two, once in a while I'll get a app or a $2 burger on Tuesday (Keep in mind they charge you for every topping so it's normally a $4 burger. still not bad). Overall, a nice modern bar feel, not date night but to watch a game, chat with friends or grab a beer after a movie it's the perfect place.

We came here for lunch yesterday around 2-2:30. There was 2 customers in the building. I'm assuming their lunch rush had just ended. (That's usually a slow time at any restaurant) We sat down and got greeted immediately by our waiter and were also told about the specials. We ordered our drinks. And they were delivered very quickly. He gave us some time to look at the menu and I ordered the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer. Which when it came out it wasn't that great. Small portion and it tasted frozen not fresh. But it came out quickly. We then ordered or lunch. Two of us got the bbq burgers which came out missing the fried onions and one ordered the street tacos. Food was okay nothing to rave about. Also we tried the Mac n cheese and that was horrendous. I would come back to try something else.

Went here this past Saturday night for Fourth of July. Waitress took awhile to come over to our table. Tried the orange mule. It tasted horrible and didn't even come in the correct cup.

Good place to go for a happy hour. The drinks and apps we ordered were perfect! The nachos from the app menu were the best nacho apps I had in a long time!

Met a friend here for drinks today. Cocktails were excellent, beer selection was impressive. My only complaint was that our service was inconsistent. At times, she hovered so much we wondered if something was wrong; but then she would leave us alone with empty glasses for long periods of time. Overall, it was okay. I'd go again, but I wouldn't necessarily suggest it.

All the charm of a walnut. Food is fare, at best. Staff is marginal. Not worth your time. Among the mini chains it is mediocre.

Good trip to Bar Louie. My wife and I sat at the bar and had a drink and appetizer. Food was delicious. We shared the skewed shrimp. Service was pretty quick. Bartenders were pleasant enough. Not overly friendly, but checked in on us a few times and were quick with a drink refill. Beer selection on tap is really good. My wife had a dirty martini that she said was really good. We'll definitely return.

The worst drinks ever...Don't even know how to make a simple Virgin mojito... I mean seriously..?? I ordered 3 times and every time I had to return it..!! And the staff made funny faces when I returned the drink... so rude!!!

Left the kids at the movies next door. Sat down ordered mojitos and chicken nachos. Both are to die for. Love this place.

Some of the food, and food and drink specials are worth a drop in, but overall the service is so-so, maybe what one would expect from a bar chain that tries to set up like a neighborhood bar? I've visited this place off and one for the past several years, and in groups of a variety of sizes. We haven't experienced bad food at all, but the service is inconsistent, flaky. If all of my visits were when the place was busy, I'd give it a pass, but at several of them, there pockets of waitstaff standing around chatting waiting for the crowd to pick up. Even if our server weren't in the group, they couldn't see we were looking around and motioning? It's just odd. The staff also tends to be ruder than normal when it takes awhile for a complete party to arrive or more people come than planned. Of the dozens of visits, only a couple have been been when the bar was packed, and I can understand wanting full tables to maximize earnings. Again, many times the place was 1/2 full and saving two or three extra seats shouldn't have been an issue. Still the food is good solid flavor and generally served quickly. They have good drink specials after work. If the location works, use it to your advantage. If you're looking for something fair and not trying to break the bank, this is as good of a spot as any.

Visiting family here. Food was good. Server was ok. Many beers on tap. Tasty sangria. Three of us had burgers and the fourth person had the breakfast taco. He needed more tortillas and the server said it would cost more. It did cost a $1.00 extra.

I can't warm up to bar Louie . The last review was for the Livonia location. We were a large group - Wednesday before thanksgiving and the novi BL WEBSITE ADVERTISED $1 taps , their calendar advertised $1 taps, ( for that day)the waitress even blasted FB advertising $1 taps, yet when we asked about it, the manager was confused. So what he offered was $1 first round for those of us already seated. Now we should have gotten up and had we been a smaller party we might have ( Livonia was serving$1 Taps on Wednesday - regardless if the next day was thanksgiving) . Our waitress was fast with service and checking in on us but not engaging- a tad on the serious side. Seemed a bit put off that we asked for separate running tabs- Food was eh- meh... Half off apps so can't complain. So I ordered 2 beers $1, $3.25, a diva $5+change, fries$4 and got a bill for $17... Waitress overcharged me, then came back with the correct amount but presented some story that the manager did me a favor and didn't charge me for my first beer. My friend who cashed out earlier than I did said she was overcharged too. So check your bill and keep your own running tab. There are so many awesome bars that not choosing this one for our happy hour fun won't be a downer

Bar Louie! This place is cool. Been in here a few times and the food is always great. Came in a couple of Fridays ago after work and the place was very busy. People sitting and talking all around, patio is open, the fires are burning, very rambunctious and lively. Wait staff seemed nice and enthusiastic as well as the general crowd. Upbeat, good beer selection, I will definetely be back in the future.

I Love going to this Bar Louie on Wednesdays for a couple drinks, all day they have domestic beers for $1.50 and their loaded tots appetizer is really good. I normally sit at the bar and the service is good.

I came yesterday to watch a football game. I had a seat at the bar and one of the bartenders came over immediately to hand me a menu. She, however, did not mention any of their specials to me (I didn't even know there were specials until another bartender told a couple sitting next to me about them). I asked her to come back after I looked at the menu. It was quite awhile before she or any other bartender asked me what I'd like. I ordered a glass of red wine and a cheeseburger. The pour on the glass of wine was pretty damn stingy for $8 a pop. The cheeseburger came out pretty quickly and was quite underwhelming. There was a fair amount of beef but it was so tasteless. It was a really bland burger overall. The fries were good. I also didn't like that the bartenders seemed to push you into buying more drinks. I barely had a few sips of my wine and they were already asking if I wanted another. It's just awkward and kind of irresponsible. I don't want to have to call a taxi because I'm too drunk to drive home. And the bartenders circle around so all of them were asking me, it seemed like every five minutes a different bartender was asking if I wanted a refill.

So I just waited 55 mins on a salad, side of fries, burger, and Shrimp appetizer AND the food was just average.

The atmosphere was great and I love the style of the bar and the food was good. Really good burgers and baked macaroni and cheese. The service was unimpressive. We waited for almost an hour to be sat at a table and then the waitress informed us that there was a reservation coming in about an hour and we needed to be gone before then, otherwise, we would have to wait longer for a table.

There are many options at the Fountain Walking Mall in Novi, and I think this is my favorite place for a drink or two. Its a large open space, with many seating options from booths, to high top tables and normal tables. There is also a large center bar. Great Happy Hour specials - 1/2 off on appetizers, and daily specials for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. During the summer, their outside patio is very nice, with gas flames down the center of the table - glass enclosed. Its fairly upscale, compared to the wing joints. There is enough TV's to keep up with the game, but the screens are not over consuming like other places. Service can be extremely fast, but friendly enough.

Loud, overpriced, and very slow. Came on a Monday around 7:30 p.m. Maybe half the tables were occupied. Our appetizer took 15 minutes, our entrees nearly 40. Server never apologized or even stopped by to say, "food is coming up!" I used to really, really like Bar Louie, and I do still like the food. But it has gotten very pricey ($14 for a club sandwich? And $1 extra to swap fries for broccoli?) and slow. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Great food, expensive drinks, but 3 stars because the bouncer yells at the crowd at 2:05am. I'm finishing my food and beer bud, relax!

Ate at Bar Louie just before seeing a movie at E-Magine. 1/2 off appetizers and happy hour made this an outstanding choice. Sliders & Tater Tots were hot & tasty! Huge selection of draft beers ...not very smokey...high ceilings and good ventilation. All with a smiling prompt server. I will be back.

$5 for a domestic draft! Sorry, that's insane. The food was amazing. The Shrimp Po Boy was one of the best I've ever had. Everything we tried was quite spicy, which was a nice surprise but might turn some people off. Our server was a little bitchy. The place was not busy on a Friday night, which was nice (but we figured out why when we got our bill!) We may return during happy hour, but I am too cheap to spend this kind of $ on Miller Lite.

The only reason im giving it two stars is because our server tom was outstanding. First,we got there and was told we had to wait 5 min.. Which I normally wouldnt care but the hostess said "we just dont have the tables right now." When there were over 20 tables open. Then I stopped a server and asked her and she said they were just understaffed...which I also completely understand.( I am also a fine dining server)...but if they were so understaffed and busy then why were all the servers standing ar the hostess stand gossiping. The food was ok...except we ordered our apps and food at the same time...but everyone who got sat 30 min after us had received their food before us..so I asked our server tom what was going on...i guess the food runner dropped our food and didnt tell our server...45min after we ordered we received our food...tom had the manager comp our food...he went over and beyond to make our visit better.even made me a special nonalchoholic drink because im pregnant. Tom is too good to be at a mediocre restaurant.

There are several Bar Louie's nearby, so I had heard of it but never been until a friend recommended it as a good place to grab a beer and burger. I thought, "It has a martini glass on the logo, is she crazy?". But I had enough confidence in my friend to convince the hubby (who was also scared because of the martini glass) and another couple to go. We walked in and were surprised to find about 50 (just guessing here) beers on tap. Very impressive for a restaurant with a martini glass as its logo (its probably obvious by now that I am not a cocktail girl). We got there in time for happy hour, which is always nice. Our server was very friendly but had trouble answering hubby's well-meaning question, "What is this restaurant good at?". You see, he is in a marketing class and since we all thought that Bar Louie was a cocktail lounge or something, we were dying to know what they thought their specialty or differentiation was. The answer (finally), "A bar with good food". So we ordered dinner- burgers for the boys and other sandwiches for the girls. My sandwich was fine but there is a certain kind of shredded lettuce that some cafeterias use which I call "dirty lettuce" and I found it on my sandwich. The burgers appeared to be outstanding based on the noises the boys were making so I realized immediately that I should have stuck closely to the recommendation of my friend. Overall, the biggest plus to this place was the beer selection. We will probably go back on other occasions when all we want is a beer, a burger, and classier atmosphere than the local pub.

just moving from chicago i sought bar louie out as it was a stand-by in chicago when i couldn't decide what else to eat. it helped that it was in walking distance of where i lived. i remember when it started in chicago and when the prices seemed cheap. but, i guess times are a changin and everything can't be cheap anymore! it is pretty standard in terms of prices now, though the portions did seem smaller than what i am used to for bar louie. that is fine though... you get plenty of food. i love the buffalo calamari. LOVE IT my boy always gets the chicken tenders, he loves bar louie specifically for them. i like their iced tea.. spinach and artichoke dip is standard and standard-ly good. i usually get a grilled cheese. i know, i could make that shit at home for nothing! but i love it here... it's the cheese or something. and the tater tots. YUM. the mac & cheese gets 5 stars. i like all mac & cheese, i don't discriminate... from homemade baked to the powder cheese mix.... this version is a few kinds of cheese with bread crumbs and parmesan on top. creamy with a bite and a crunchy top, perfect! the service was pretty good. not caring for the atmosphere... the chicago versions have a more intimate (& varied) atmosphere. this one was just too spacious and sterile... i felt like i was in a hotel lobby. overall i'd go back - it's decent, consistent bar food. which i crave a lot.

I went there a few weeks back and really liked the layout of the place. It was spacious, clean, and the wait staff was quite good. I didn't get anything to eat, but everything my friends ordered looked really tasty. The location is also really good as it is near the novi mall, a movie theatre, and lucky's.

Boring. My husband and I stopped in here after shopping and I was completely bored with the place. We had a coupon for a free appetizer, so we got the Bavarian Pretzels (which my husband observed were merely microwaved), which came with cheese, cinnamon butter, & hot mustard; this part was excellent. I had the Hong Kong Salad & my husband had a steak of some sort with sweet potato fries. If you are looking for a good home-cooked meal, don't go here. Also, if you are looking for a place to bring the kids, don't go here, as the waitresses wear skimpy tops & short mini jean skirts (competing with Hooters next door, perhaps?).

Bar Louie come to Fountain Walk! Just noticed a new place next to Hooters while leaving Emagine and we decided to give it a try. They was a crowd of folks eating drinking and making a pleasant rumble and the smell helped us make this a stop. A very long bar that wraps around the center of the building is the most popular seating area. There are also many cozy looking stuffed booths. There was an equal amount of people just drinking or drinking and ordering. Had one of the cheeseburgers with a fried egg on top. Not sure what they called this combination but it was done well, smoky beef thick slice of melted cheddar cheese and strips of crisp bacon with the over easy egg. Sheer happiness to eat, Its a little messy of course but you won't care due to the taste and the casual setting of beer drinkers or cranberry vodka sippers makes a messy burger okay here. I will be back to try more of the menu.

I have never written a review but I have to say that the service and food was awful. The sliders had practically no sauce and it took longer than 30 minutes for them to come out. Mind you, there was almost no one in the bar.

  • Anne Marie V.

I would give zero stars if I could. If you sign up for the loyalty program don't expect the free appetizer on that same visit. Bad advertising on their end. Food wasn't great and service was slow and rude. Not worth my time to come back.

  • M C.

Too noisy, overpriced booze, boring food, and service was not so great (took way too long to even get water delivered to our table). I have no idea how this place is thriving. I suggest going anywhere else in Novi. Good 'ol Library Pub off Grand River provides better quality food, atmosphere, and service. However..... The Bar Louie in Laurel Park has a much better atmosphere & for some reason, I recall their menu offering some different items. Not sure if they are affiliated.

  • Jessica W.

On the nights I stay in Novi, Bar Louie is one of the few (if not only) options that is open past 9pm. So, accordingly, after we're delayed getting dinner for a couple hours, we end up at Bar Louie. It's always a bit louder than I'd prefer (it's a bar, I know, so I'm lame to think so), but the service is adequate and the food is edible. Not a shining endorsement, but take it for what it is: a late dinner spot in the middle of the suburban void.

  • Donna B.

I am 62 years old and the server asked to see my ID, outside of my wallet, so they could verify the year! If your server can't tell the difference between a 62 year old and a 21 year old you should fire them. Age discrimination? Saw a movie at the Emangine Theatre and took my movie ticket in, on a Tuesday between 4 and 7pm, for a free appitizer as poster at Emangine advertised. Manager refused to honor it unless I ordered an addition $10 worth. False advertising?

  • Steve L.

Modern chain. Very affordable. The food: Not bad at all. Far from gourmet, but defiantly unique. Good portions, value. Quality matches price. The bar: Plenty variety on tap, creative concoctions. Dollar drafts on Wednesdays! The staff: Friendly, professional, attentive, sexy. The location: Surrounded by competition in an outdoor west coastish shopping center. Atmosphere: Tall ceilings with a beefy hvac ensures temperature survival on the busiest nights. Modern/hip. Loud casual classy. Ideal for: Corporate get togethers, happy hour.

Love Bar Louie's Novi! Best happy hour specials and great martinis. The bartenders are always making their rounds and you never have to wait around for a drink.

Had the most AWFUL experience at this Bar Louie last night. This was my first time at this one, but I've visited the Auburn Hills and Tampa location several times without issue. Our server and the manager tried to get us to pay for a bill that had already been taken care of when my cousin and her daughter cashed out. They also tried to charge us for drinks that no one at our table drank. It was a HUGE scene that took more than an hour to figure out. Do not waste your money here. Novi has plenty of other bars and restaurants with better drink deals, tastier food, and honest management!

I like Bar Louies. It is always a lively and fun place to go with friends. The food is good and so are the drinks. It has an upscale, hip environment with friendly people. I usually enjoy the visit. I have not had one bad visit yet.

I met friends for drinks and food on a Sunday afternoon. The place was half empty, and it seemed like we had three waitresses serving our table. Despite that, we had to ask for refills of soft drinks and water. A different waitress brought the drinks we ordered, and she carried two stemmed glasses in one hand. This led to one drink dribbling out onto the other glass, and she didn't even know what was in either glass, which made it interesting when she tried to guess who ordered them. Another waitress took our food order, with a charming "So? Are you ordering food?" She wrote our orders on a napkin. The third and fourth to order asked for lettuce wraps, and somehow those came out 20 minutes after everyone else's food. And somehow they were out of tater tots. The two orders of "baked" macaroni and cheese had never seen an oven - no crispy bits, and the parmesan on top wasn't melted. Overall, not very impressed by any of the staff, except maybe the bartender - drinks were good. I've had a much better experience at Mynt, and would recommend it over this location of Bar Louie.

Three points: 1). Location; located in the mall makes it very easy for parking and meeting friends. 2). Drinks; they have a large selection but what you are choosing from is on the low end of the adult beverage scale. 3). Food; NOTHING creative. Place your order and the cook opens a freezer bag and dumps the food you ordered in a fryer. Ding, the alarm goes off, your food comes out of the fryer. Ding, the fried stuff is dumped on a plate with a wedge of iceberg lettuce and served. Yummy!

It's always a struggle to decide if we are going to this location or Livona. This location wins 50% of the time only because its just a hop down M-5 and the food here is 100% better then at Livonia. Typically fast service and not much to screw up on. Some waitresses I've seen here in the last month or so are not a pretty sight, though. They don't pour heavy drinks here though. Out of 10 drinks I would say 3 are heavy.

  • K K.

I would love to give this place 4 stars, but just can't. It has many pros - I always think about them as a potential visit when I leave the house, but I just don't go there that much. It's just too loud, and the drinks are overpriced. When I go out with friends I want to talk and I want to drink. smh

  • Mariah H.

I used to visit frequently because of the fact that I worked at another location in the plaza and this place has gone WAY downhill. In the beginning, the food was good, drinks were fair priced and service was always pretty decent. On a recent visit, it was painfully obvious that all of the food comes out of a bag, can or freezer before it's slapped on your plate. My favorite appetizer, buffalo chicken flatbread, is now an over salted, dry, piece of card board. If you're going for food I'd say burgers are usually a safe bet. Drink prices seem to have gone up significantly....I paid $10.50 for a mojito that was 75% syrup and glass full of leaves. I know the drink calls for mint, but if I wanted a salad I would've ordered one!! I used to really love this place, but now it's not worth the heartburn.

  • D M.

Should be a 3.5 but can't. First the drinks were not good for $9. That's damn near half the cost of bottle of whiskey. Next the breadsticks and cheese were killer. The short rib sliders were average but the flatbread again killer. Will go back again and keep my right arm and have a nice glass of refreshing water.

~ ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! Actually witnessed the "BARTENDER PUT "DEODORANT" on at the BAR! Yes at the Bar I asked to talked to MGT and explain what I witnessed and all she said was sorry here are 2 comp appetizers for your next vista.. HELL NO NEVER GOING AGAIN

Really? On a Saturday night you don't have a waitress outside and we have to get our own drinks at the bar? Then we can sit and watch the carnival of trash outside walking through Fountainwalk. What's that a waitress is out here? Oh, she's only serving one table of her friends, not us. This location is good for happy hour during the week and only good for people watching on the weekend nights.

Our first visit. Special Anniversary. Waiter was totally friendly, but not at all fast. The place wasn't packed at all, 6:15pm. Had quite a wait for our first cocktails. The food was good but my biggest issue is that the happy hour appetizer menu is totally deceiving. Both lettuce wraps and sliders seem to be under the appetizer area but when we got the bill at full price, the waiter said "nope". Also, draft is a happy hour special and ... "sorry, all drafts are broke" on this night! so much for checking out a new, fun, bargain place!

My issue has more to do with the type of people who tend to frequent this place than the employees and service provided. The customer base is the worst blend of rude, pretentious, want- to-be yuppies one could possibly hope to encounter. The entire area, and surrounding cities, have been ruined by these types of folks who think way too highly of themselves. Sad, yet true...

  • Tamra W.

Good drinks and food. The wedge salad was great, we tried a bunch of different appetizers and it was a great way to meet and mingle before the matinee. We were very pleased with our service - thanks, Jenny! By the way, if you show your movie ticket you'll get a free appetizer.

  • M L.

Over priced. Terrible service. Took 30 minutes to get someone to take our drink order at 8pm on a Thursday. Overall a simple meal took 2 hours and 30 minutes from the time we sat until we paid and left. To add insult to injury it was also super expensive for what we got.

    (2)
  • Amelia L.

We got seated right away but that's the only thing that was fast. Service is very slow, it's not even busy for a Saturday night and it took over 10 minutes to get our first drinks. We ordered 2 more drinks in advance cause we knew it would take long, when the server came back she sincerely apologized because her managers were having a "water gun fight" excerpt not with water, hot sauce... I have never heard a waitress say something like this, very unprofessional on the mangers part and her part for blaming the wait on her managers when we ordered drinks from the bar

This Bar Louie location is kind of the textbook chain bar with food. The food is supposed to be upscale pub grub, but ends up being kind of just Applebees Light. There is an expansive beer menu, but they seem to push their mainstream beers like Budweiser and Amstel instead of the available and fantastic local microbrews. On the suggestion of my friends, I went with the Fried Louie - a burger served with bacon, cheddar, and a fried egg. Fresh lettuce, tomato and red onions served on a toasted bun. I've stopped being surprised that even after asking how I would like the meat cooked (medium to medium-rare), it is still served quite well done and quite dry. The produce is very fresh. However, the side of fries are very frozen-from-a-bag and not fresh. The ambiance is loud and service is slow. There are several televisions throughout, so whatever game you're looking to watch, it's probably on somewhere. Prices are not bad. Not terrible, but I don't believe I'll be back.

We come to this location at least every two weeks for happy hour. This day we arrived earlier than usual around 4:30pm. Our waitress was obviously new and barely knew what she was doing. My ice tea and water both came with no ice? My husband ordered a draft beer. Only a few tables were full but all 15 waitresses were standing in a circle next to the bar laughing loudly and hanging out. Some were obviously not even working yet. It was so unprofessional and distracting. Where are the managers? And shame on them. Once we got the bill we were charged for a large draft beer full price. We clearly had the happy hour size draft. Once we told the waitress it was mistake she tried telling us we had ordered large a beer. She had no idea what sizes they even serve or anything about the happy hour. Once it was fixed she stated "the manager took care of it for you" as if he did us a favor? She also had no idea what beer from which brewery was on tap. Get it together.

Came here for some drinks with a friend and late night hunger pangs. Kind of awkwardly walked around until I realized you seat yourself. The servers weren't particularly helpful and took a while to come over, even though the place wasn't very busy. Had the bacon cheeseburger sliders and traditional style calamari which were both pretty good. A little expensive, but tasty nonetheless. The honeydew martini was pretty good. Solid place. Not much different from other bar louies.

I can understand the gripes written about this place because I very well could have had a difference experience. But everything about our two-hour-plus visit was spot on. First, we got here early enough: before the 9-5 crowd were out of work, which was probably our biggest advantage. Needless to say, it was fairly empty. It was also before happy hour started. Our bartender didn't pressure us to order, instead let us wait out the 15 minutes until the $3 drafts and 1/2 off appetizers kicked in. Not only that, he chatted up with us about the iPhone instead of giving us the cold shoulder for not ordering. Once the specials hit, we indulged ourselves. Bacon cheeseburger sliders: Holy bun but the applewood smoked bacon was really flavorful. Hummus plate to balance out the mini-burgers: the hummus wasn't anything to write home about, but the tzatziki was refreshingly light. It also came with plenty of pita slices and long, thin slices of cucumber. I've always been impressed with the lineup of beers they have on draft, which includes seasonals. Loved that I enjoyed a beer with the name Funkin Punkin so much! As for the atmosphere, it felt like the place got packed in five minutes. It actually caught me off guard with how quickly it happened. Still, our bartender continued to be attentive, making sure to ask if we wanted another drink before our glasses were empty. One odd, random thing: They would only serve my friend's manhattan in a martini glass because it was happy hour. Had it been any other time of day, he could've gotten it in a lowball.

...went during happy hour. Two beers and the nachos for $12. Lots of babes. Thank you dirt blonde at the bar... the leer lasted for two days...

Let's start with the service first. We sat at the bar- our bartender was very good with suggestive selling. It was all star home run derby night. Food - Chicken Nachos very good, but ask we could modify and were told no.... Surprised we could not add on. Good food and good service.....

You are paying for the location, the service, the food presentation and the back-to-back flat screens lining the bar. If you believe that you get good tasting food out of this place, you might be disappointed. The food was pleasing to the eyes - the appetizer sliders, the chicken flatbread, and the overpriced salad. The looks did not match the taste. The sliders were way small for the price and the texture was that of a dried out Alpo. The salad was overpowering with all the additions to it, outside of the ICEBERG lettuce. Maybe the salad addings were overpowering because iceberg lettuce taste very bland? I think Wendy's could have done a better job making a good tasting salad. The chicken on the flatbread was a bit dry and the sauce on the flatbread was spicy and salty. If you want something good to eat, walk by this place, But if you want to sit and chat in a trendy looking bar, get some good service, eat some wonderfully presented, but awful tasting food, come on in. This place is for you! I give this place 1 star for the food presentation and 1 star for the good service.

Only been here once and at the time of writing this review it was back December 2012. I liked my experience here, although it was a busy Friday night and anyone who knows the fountain walk knows the wait for a table at peak time in any bar/restaurant here. I suppose thought the tilted kilt and blackrock places hadn't opened at this stage so they might not be as busy as they were when I visited with a group last year. We had around a 20-30 minute wait. We couldnt even get a look in at the bar so didn't even try purchase a drink while we waited we just hung by the golf game by the door. The atmosphere was rushed but I like that busy Friday night meal and drinks type ambience sometimes so I didn't really mind the wait or rush. When we were seated we got a booth at the back, it was a kind of quiter area which I liked. It seems that the wait here is due to the fact that large groups stay for one or two more drinks after finishing a meal so the tables become available few and far between on busy weekend nights. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich and a berry mojito. The rest of my party, as far as I can remember, opted for burgers (being men of course they did). The food quality was about par for what I thought it would be, being so busy and rushed out in the dining area, I thought the food would be cooked in an equal rush. I loved my sandwich, the guys loved their burgers. The mojito was nice but like others have mention it didn't seem to have too much actual alcohol in it, it was nicely decorated with the mint leaves and sugar but...come on just gimme loads of alcohol for the price of the puny drink. Haven't been back yet as I moved to New York. I would like to try it again.

Overall: Only go for a cheap happy hour and quick eats. This place is INCONSISTENT! The waitresses are terrible, they'll force you out, but this is definitely due to their managers directions (who seems like a jerk), they are eye candy if you like trashy girls. Food is hit or miss, and when it hits it is more of a punch from a teenager than Evander Holyfield. The crowd is of a varied demographic, yet an essence of DB seems to resonate. Service and quality are inconsistent, but honestly if you're going for happy hour it's awesome! If you're going any other time... well, don't. --Food-- It's really not that great of quality. If you go for happy hour, I would definitely order couple of things because the prices are great! The queso on top of the nachos is good and they put fresh jalapenos on it too, which is definitely a plus. The buffalo wings are decent for your casual wing eater. The dumplings are tasty, of the frozen variety for sure. The bruchetta can actually be really good; however, more often than not your going to have burned bread and the tomatoes seem to have been sitting out for a while. Don't order the burger unless your there on dollar tuesdays, when you can justify eating a frozen school cafeteria quality burger. I'd honestly prefer fast food to it. Again, if you go when it's happy hour or discounted, the food is totally worth it. --Drinks-- Happy hour prices are okay for drinks. The bartenders are inconsistent. I've had really good ones and really bad ones. One guy in particular is fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. The drinks are inconsistent, which is something that the manager should be all over. He seems to busy wrangling and herding his waitresses like they are sheep. I had one of the worst manhattans ever here, so now I stick to the beer. The beer selection is very good! --Service-- Definitely the same quality as Hooters; however, these girls probably think they are a little classier... Psh! Now to be fair, I've had really nice, tasteful, and helpful service here, but then there are also girls here that you want to sterilize your glass after they give it to you, which more often than not takes 10 minutes too long. You might find yourself eating on scraps left from the previous patrons. To their credit, these girls are probably unaccustomed to cleaning devices as their parents do everything for them. I've had the wait staff start forcing us out on several occasions, which is stupid because we were still ordering drinks and food. On one occasion the waitress snuck up and loudly interjected right over my shoulder startling me, which caused me to knock over my drink. Pretty unprofessional and even more unprofessional was not noticing she did anything wrong or getting another craft beer. Most are young and probably simply don't know any better due to poor management. Again, you'll also have good waitresses/waiters, I guess you get what you pay for during happy hour. --Atmosphere-- I think it's trying to be an upper class bar, but it's slightly confused. You get the suit and tie crowd after work, which is exactly why we go. I've seen families here, I hope they know the staff because I'd never encourage anyone to bring their kids. More prevailing is the douchey 20-30 male demographic. I'm completely used to this demographic, but I understand why someone would feel the need to turn around and run away. To be fair, there are also average people, nice couples, and really nice groups that I've sparked conversation with. The prices and location simply attract people from all walks of life. If you stay much later it gets really crowded and the music turns up a bit. All in all, I'll continue to meet with great friends and coworkers here. I encourage you to do the same, but I advise you to leave when happy hour is over and even if you decide to stay, you'll probably have the staff start to pressure you to leave. After writing this, I kind of half expect to be punched in the face by the douchey manager next time I'm there.

I am soooooooo disappointed with Bar Louie's!!! I went there for the first time in September 2013. I ordered 2 of the best appetizer's I ever had, truffle butter popcorn & schezuan wings.... OMG!!!! So good.... I took those to my movie with me, SHHHHH... Every time since then when I go to the show I take those 2 items with me.... I was going to the show tonight(1/31/2014), I called my order in, & they took the Truffle Butter Popcorn off of the menu, I AM DEVASTATED! They got a new menu this past Monday & removed one of my favorites!! The Popcorn is gone!!! Truffle Butter!!!

Wanna get ripped off ? Drop on in for a $10 bloody mary with a 1/2 shot of well vodka. Oh and if you're in the mood for some meat - hunker down on the firecracker flat bread!! It's packing an entire bottle cap of taco bell style hamburger! Bravo!! Never again..

Decent tap list, but lots of the handles are the awful watered down domestics or faux-craft beers marketed by the international conglomerates. TVs around the bar are great. Staff knows little to nothing abut the beers but are very nice otherwise. Food is so-so -- flatbread pizzas are a good dish to share for a snack. Half of the time I am there the staff is complaining about the manager on duty and there is lots of standing around and complaining. Convenient location if traveling between Lansing and Detroit - I only stop in when I want a slightly better beer than I can get at the neighboring Buffalo Wild Wings.

Went here on a saturday for dinner and to watch the wings and tigers game...... Of course it is very loud, so if you do not like noise then you do not want to go here. DINNER: my boyfriend ordered their salmon dish, I tried it as well and it was really tasty just alittle salty. I ordered a salad and they messed up my order and even after they took it back to "fix it" its still was not right. They do have alot of beers on tap. When they run a special on drinks its not all that great... and you really dont get much to choose from. The salsa that came with the chips and salsa was very good, tasted fresh. Waitress had a good attitude. overall just an OK experience.

Slow inattentive service at the bar. That was followed by a 45 min wait for appetizers which came out cold - like they were prepared 45 minutes ago.

GREAT Experience. I had my husband's birthday party there with about 35 people total. The manager was easy to get ahold of and worked with me to create an appetizer package that was reasonably priced. The food was REALLY good! We had a mixture of apps like spinach dip, wings, potstickers & hummus. The staff was very helpful and did a great job with the food, drinks and our cake while we were there. For the amount of people we had, we never had to wait too long for our next drink. It was great! I would highly recommend Bar Louie in Novi for your next event!!

This is our go-to spot for after work drinks! Excellent happy hour specials and really good food! My favorites are the fabulous selection of Martinis and the buffalo calamari. And don't forget every Tuesday is $1 burger night!!!

If you want to drink, good spot to hang out. However, I took my wife and daughter to lunch and it was a disaster and no one really seemed to give damn. Bottom line, they over cooked everything (3 separate items) and the Manager was unapologetic and pretty much clueless. My advice, if you are going to order food, don't expect much and for the prices they charge, not a good value. I won't be going back anytime soon.

Good drinks- check Fun atmosphere-check Decent food-check This place is a good choice if you want to meet a friend/date after work for a drink. A nice bonus is the outdoor seating. It is in the Fountain Walk area of Novi, so it is conveniently located. The Emagine theater is right next door, so you can stop into Bar Louie after the show for a quick bite to eat and a refreshing drink.

I was actually looking for a place to go eat brunch but stumbled upon the reviews for Bar Louie. I checked out their menu online and they had some interesting menu combo/choices so we headed over there asap! Brunch is served from 10-3pm. There were only a hand full of tables occupied around 11am and you seat yourself so we opted for a table right next to the bar which boasted 11 flat screen TV's all around it. I ordered the Morning After Skillet which consisted of tater tots covered in green/red peppers, onions, scrambled eggs, chorizo, bacon and queso...so yum! My hubby ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy which was good but the shrimp was sauteed rather than fried but the sauce on the sandwich was really good! AND before our meals came out they give you a complimentary bag of donuts that comes with a raspberry and chocolate dipping sauce. The donuts were ok but I thought it was a cute touch!

Friendly, efficient service. Fun variety of drink options. I recommend the 'diva' martini (if u like sweet drinks). My friend really liked the 'effen good' martini. Nice atmosphere. Lots of TV's there so good bar choice to watch games too. Didn't eat..can't comment on the food yet...

Very poor service, we waited. For ten minutes after sitting and had to find a waitress. Most of the waitresses were sitting with I guess the manager on thier phones not doing any work. The food was horrible, soggy flatbread with items on it not listed on the menu and my burger was bland, bun was stale and I felt horrid the rest of the day. I do not recommend wasting time and money at this place

They always have some type of deal or offer that every customer enjoys. Great bar arrangement. It comes off as an adult place but kids can eat free on Sundays. TVs are everywhere almost like a b dubs. Also a great place to go when everything else in fountain walk is packed. They also have pretty waitresses

Just your average chain bar. I kind of felt like I was at a glorified TGI Friday's or worse an upscale Applebee's. It's like they are trying to create a trendy city bar ambiance, but failed to recognize that the key to being "cool" or "trendy" is to not try to be anything, especially something you're not. Considering we went there on Saturday night at like 10 pm, I was surprised to see parents carting around their children (we are talking like ages 3-8). I found it highly inappropriate and disturbing that kids were there, being the place was packed with 23 year-old binge drinking post-college types doing blow job shots and jager bombs.

This place loses some serious stars because one of the waitresses convinced me to enter in their 3rd Annual Rock the Tot, Tater Tot Eating Competition. I ate 1.75 pounds of tater tots in about five minutes and it didn't feel too hot. My tale pales in comparison to the guy next to me who ate 3.4 pounds of tater tots, puked eight times and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Enough about the competition though, this place is actually pretty cool. I've been here a few times and the prices are okay for a bar of this ambiance and the food is good. I've ordered the nachos before, the loaded tater tots - although I will likely never eat tots again - and the Dagwood. All have been delicious. The dips, however are not good. Just about everyone I have talked to, Bar Louie Staff included, agree the salsa is awful. The artichoke/crab dip is pretty bland as well. As for beverages, Bar Louie has an impressive list of draft and bottle beers. Some of them can be expensive, but if you go on the right night and get the specials, you can be pretty frugal. Often times, Bar Louie has $2 pints and half of appetizers - I've seen this a lot on Thursdays. The discounted pints are available on nearly all beers on the menu including some more expensive brews like Blue Moon, Oberon, and Heineken. This restaurant is located in Fountain Walk withing walking distance of about three or four other bars including Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, Liquor Store, Lucky's and the new swanky bar, Rojo. Bar Louie is pretty modern and a nice place for groups of friends or a date. It has an outdoor patio that sits on a bustling sidewalk of an outdoor mall, lots of windows, a big wooden bar, and leather seats and booths. It is a dark and classy place with scantily clad waitresses - the ones who wear dark shorts and knee high striped athletic socks. It also boasts a ton of flat screen televisions around the bar and on the back walls of the restaurant. Near the lobby there are some bar games like Golden Tee live, but this certainly isn't the type of place you go to play Golden Tee all night. There people are too pretty to focus on video golf all night.

Bar Louie is a solid 2 star joint - the rating says it all...meh...I've experienced better. I will say that our server was pretty great, keeping my water refilled without having to ask, but towards the end of the meal he kind of disappeared. We sat with empty plates on our tables for a good 10 minutes before he came by with our check - we weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal, but it was kind of annoying. I ordered the 4 tacos platter, which had 4 teeny tortillas "stuffed" (that's sarcasm) with about a teaspoon of plain shredded chicken and a tiny slice of avacado. Then, spread over the 4 tacos was literally, 1 medium diced onion. I mean there was onion OVERFLOWING out of my tacos. It was sick, and I even like onions! I ended up scraping all of the raw onion out so all I had was a super small tortilla with a miniscule amount of chicken...I put some of the beans in there and it was edible, but definitely not worth the $13 I paid for it. Pretty disappointing. The BF likes just about anything edible so he was happy with his Mario sandwich and mac n cheese - although the sandwich looked pretty soaked in whatever dressing was on it. My wine was also pretty nasty - I got the pinot grigio and it tasted really off, for $7.50 a glass I expected a little more than a super bitter wine. Overall, for a $40 meal, this was definitely not worth it. The server saved it from a 1 star rating but this isn't a place I'm dying to return to anytime soon.

  • Bar Louie is a chain of restuarant/bars. The Novi location is in the Fountain Walk Center at I-96 and Novi Road, even though the address shows 12 Mile Rd. I went to Bar Louie after catching a movie at the Emagine Theater, also in Fountain Walk, last night, which happened to be a Friday night. The bar had plenty of seating, including large round booths that could seat 8 people comfortably. There is quite the selection of beer on tap. We went with Oberon, a Michigan brew recently released for the season. We were a bit surprised to find out our 20 oz. beer cost $7 per glass. Considering the open space and that the bar was not packed, I was surprised by how loud it was. I had no problem talking to the person next to me, but I doubt the large parties at the u-shaped booths could hear the person seated across the table without shouting. The lights were very dim, which gave the bar a little romantic ambiance. It seems like a nice place to grab some food or a couple drinks, but it's not a place to go for intimate conversations because of the noise. Stick to going here with a group of friends and take your date elsewhere.

We tried this place again last Friday, 1/7/11. Service was great, the food was good, and the price was right. We tried the cheese quesadilla and the sloppy joey sliders. Both were half off and good. They arrived minutes after ordering. Our server, Dana, did a great job of keeping our glasses full! I did note that the crowd was very light. I don't know if this is because of the time of the year, or if others had the same experience we had. Happy again!

I had been there a few time right after it opened and was happy with it, but not enough to go back in the last 18 months. I went there with my wife on a Saturday night and we had to wait 20 minutes at 7 PM (not bad in my opinion). We got one of there big booths and felt very comfortable. The food was great. The fresh hot pretzel sticks w/dip are tasty. Both entrees were delicious and moderately priced. One complaint, the first time I went the servers wore t shirts and, like clothes. When I took my wife this time they were dressed like they just got off a shift at Hooter's next door.

Went here with my girls the Night before Halloween. Cue the creepy music. Hah! Just kidding. It was a blast! Wish I had listen to my gfs and wore a costume too. Everyone was decked out in their crazy costumes and it was fun to watch people outside heading to the clubs in various attire. :) There are plenty of drinks on the drink menu and thank you Bar Louie for having a section of non alcoholic drinks since I was DD for the night. I thought it was weird that they card us at the door and at the table when we ordered drinks though. Are the bars open to 18+ and I never knew?

Well, I'm not sure where these poor reviews are coming from, but I have been living out of state, and this restaurant/bar has since opened. I LOVE it! Their happy hour deals are unbeatable, the food (although only tried it a few times) was really good, fresh, and hot. Our service has been very good, and many times it's a nice spot to go to and just sit at the bar and have a few drinks. You should definitely give it a try and hey, maybe you'll love it too :)

Mediocre, expensive food prepared slower than moss grows on trees. Loud during the day, louder at night. Drinks are overpriced, even for the area. Waitresses are attractive and nearly competent.

Nice night weather-wise. Wanted to go to a restaurant that had outdoor seating. Out with the girls. We were not familiar w/ the area but found outdoor seating at this place. Typical chain feeling w/ the bar and the menu. Started with grilled shrimp skewers. VEry small shrimp. Not good grilling shrimp due to the size. Tasted like previously frozen shrimp. Way overpriced. Ordered the bbq salad. The salad was about $9 but then I had to add $4 more to get chicken or a different protein added to it. Who would want the salad without a protein for that price? Not much to the salad. Way overpriced for just lettuce and a bit of chicken. Nothing special about anyone's meal. Perfect example of why I dislike chains. Unless you want fattening fried foods, try and avoid "the chain," because even a salad there is fattening unless you completely strip it down.

This place is interesting...by which I mean confusing. It's a bar, but it's not dirty or smokey. It's in Novi but it's not crazy-expensive or super exclusive feeling. It's in Fountainwalk but it's not super packed (at least not the few times I was there). All of these add up to a squeeky clean bar experience. The last time I was here was to watch a monday night football game on their 7 million tvs and (if this tells you anything about the crowd in there) I think I was the only person watching. Everyone else was too busy being beautiful. The service is good. The drinks are solid. The seating is comfy and the bar is monstrous. If I had one complaint it's this: If you're there to actually watch something on TV (football, etc) the bar stools relationship to the 100" tvs is crazy. They're practically above your head and in your face. We ended up moving to a booth instead. Other than that....I'll go back here for the atmosphere and a good place to chill.

BAD SERVICE! They gave me the wrong bill then charge my credit card for the wrong bill! Then I told them and they credited me back but had a bad attitude. The waitresses are rude...I DONT LIKE to complain but man, I will not go here again. At least offer me something, like a small drink for the inconvenience. Basically I had only ordered two drinks cuz it was already late and they gave me someone elses bill. I dont like the service here at all. Food is great but I wouldnt go back.

I really give this Bar Louie 0 stars but that's not an option so I'll give it.1. My friends and I waited 45 minutes and when I went to ask the girl why we hadn't been seated yet she said she called me (I had no calls and we were standing a maximum of 10ft from the hostess stand). She told me we were next on the list. A table opened up and she promptly sat 2 other people there. I will never return and I will make it a point to tell everyone I know the same.

I was here to meet up with one of my friends from high school who I haven't been hanging out for a long time. The friendly hostess took us to the booth area by the bar. It is very comfortable seating area with candle on the table. I can see the TV screen from where I sit so it was perfect. I ordered the Chocolate Martini which was really good. They were doing half price special, so it was really nice. I also ordered Dumpling and Calamari served with seafood sauce(kinda spicy and sour..just about right.), and they were both really delicious. I was really impressed with this place. Our waitress is really friendly and helpful. My friends and I had a great time! Thank you Bar Louie!!!

I have not had a bad meal here, they have options that are a bit healthier. I love going here with friends and having a drink and catching up. Though it is louder on the music and noise issue. Overall I enjoy dropping in here sometimes and catching a bite with some drinks and good company.

I have been hearing a lot of buzz about this Bar Louie place that is supposed to be awesome...so I finally (!!!) got around to checking it out. Per normal, I went to their website first (well, after reading Yelp reviews that is!) and found that they have a great gluten free menu ( barlouieamerica.com ) that didn't leave me feeling "left out." I found the atmosphere of this location to be nice although it felt slightly bare because it was SO open. We were still able to hold a decent conversation although it did get louder throughout the night. So their Happy Hour is awesome! Half off all appetizers, $5 martinis (try the dirty CEO if you like it dirty!), and $3 short beers (the Livonia location has $4 glasses of wine too). We also happened to go on a Tuesday which is their burger night. $1 8oz burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion then you pay a little for each delightful topping you choose. It's executed through an easy to fill out form right on the table. Being gluten-free I ordered mine without a bun. I found the burger to be good, maybe a little overcooked but it was burger night so you kinda expect that. The toppings were great and in decent quantities. We ordered a basket each of tater tots and fries for the table (4 people). I wasn't a huge fan of the fries, they weren't bad but in comparison to the tots they don't stand a chance! Seriously, forget what you know about tater tots from the cafeteria - these rock! So as far as drinks, everyone was happy with the selection - beer and liquor. I really enjoyed the Dirty CEO but I wouldn't have minded a little dry vermouth in it...it was extra dry. The blue cheese olives were ok but kinda semi-stuffed and for me if you're not going to do a stuffed olive right you should just stick with the regular ones. The service was pretty good. Although our server was a bit flaky she was mostly attentive and was willing to get gluten-free questions answered. We were also "welcomed" by 2 "busboys" that were very friendly and helpful. Usually those guys seem to blow you off and I was impressed that they asked how our night was. I plan to go back especially during happy hour. It was comfortable, inviting, and had good food and drink. If you're gluten-free this is a gem, not too many places have this kind of menu :) The only thing that would've taken it over the top for me would be some kind of gluten-free dessert (creme brulee, anyone?)

My wife and I had an Hour for lunch today, I was hungry so we were going to go over to Lucky Strike for lunch as My wife had been there before but I had never been. Instead I saw a sign in the courtyard for Bar Louie 20min express lunch. We headed over to give this express lunch a shot hoping for something decent & cheap. I normally do not go for Bars even with the smoking ban, most Bars are not my style as I am not all that into drinking heavily & partying hard. A good burger or salad with some nice company is always my style hands down. We walked in and it was very empty. I think overall there might of been 4 tables of people sitting and eating and aside from the 2 waitresses almost everyone there were men. We opted to sit in a corner. The atmosphere in there is very laid back. There were a dozen TV's around the main bar in the middle with tables/chairs around the edge. On the left side of the entrance were rows of tables and another side booths. A skinny gal came to the table and we asked for drinks - my wife a coca-cola and me an ice tea. And we asked for the Express Lunch menu. The lady left and we sat and looked over the regular menus. The gal came back with our drinks and gave us the express menu and left again. We had been tossing around other ideas of where to eat and wondering if this place was worth it or not. My wife opted for the Chicken Quesadilla no sour cream and I opted for the Mario sandwich - turkey, ham, salami, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, onion, Italian dressing, provolone on toasted hoagie roll & fries. The waitress left again and came back with mustard and ketchup. That was pretty much it for the Waitress. She came and left our table essentially 2 times, 3 if we count her snagging mustard & ketchup from another table. She never said much. It had been maybe all of 5 mins. We chatted a bit more and I told my wife I had to use the bathroom. I asked her if the Waitress comes round again I want a refill of my ice tea. Bathrooms were very tiny considering how big this place is. Literally only 2 stalls & 3 urinals in the men's room. They were mostly clean but had a slight cleaning fluid odor to them. I was in there no more than 10mins. I was quite sure when I got back to the table our food and refills would be waiting. I washed up and went back to the table. But... no food... no refills. My wife said the waitress had not come by once the entire time I was gone. I was a bit miffed. We sat and looked around the restaurant and started to look at our watches. It was now pushing 30mins sitting there waiting for Food and Refills. And no waitress. Other tables had been leaving and the place was very low key for a lunch out. We started to wish we had went somewhere else entirely. I told my wife, ok they get 5 more mins and then We are leaving. I saw the waitress who took our order but she never did once come back with refills or to check on us. Most of her time was standing around at a table of 4 guys in the back corner. Perhaps she was flirting I have no clue. I do know I was effing hungry and effing pissed. I saw the chick walk by and look over at us, I stared daggers in her direction and waved my hand. She came over to our table... I said Excuse me its been 35mins waiting for our Lunch. And you've practically disappeared for the last 25mins. The gal gave us a dumb look and said she would go into the back to check on our orders. I told my wife this was bullshit and I am calling the manager. The waitress finally came back with the food... it was clearly only warm to the touch. It had been clearly sitting under some hot lamp for who knows how long. I told the waitress I want to see the Manager now. A couple minutes later and some guy in a hoodie came out and gave me his hand in greetings and said he was the Manager. We told the dude, We had an hour for lunch and were going to go to Lucky's but when I saw the 20min Express Lunch sign I opted to come to Louie's instead. I told the guy, The waitress had been to our table all told maybe 4 times. We anticipated getting refills too and she never once gave us refills. And our food was not even steaming hot which made us realize it had been likely sitting back in the kitchen for a little bit. The Manager was trying to salvage it however... He comped our lunch entirely. THIS IS THE ONLY REASON They Get 2 Stars and Not 1 stars. Between the lack of service from an Inept Server and the long wait for an alleged Express Lunch they would of only received 1 star. The Manager gave us additionally 2 Cards for Free Express Lunch the next time. Frankly I am not interested in coming back. We took our to go boxes of food to the car. The Food wasn't even worth it though. We ate a couple bites and threw it away. Fries with my sandwich reminded me of oversalted crap from Wendy's. I could of had better food from Tubby's.

Energetic, youthful vibe in the Fountain Walk strip. We had a chance to try this place out on a Friday night when everything else was a 45 minute to an hour wait. It's really open, has tons of seating and dimly lit for the night time crowd. They do allow smoking inside, but it wasn't too bad - just a little noticeable on our clothes after we left. Quite a bit of people were here so combined with the openness and music, it was noisy. This place has 40 beers on tap! Lots of Michigan brews like Oberon, Hopslam, Two Hearted, Red's Rye, Huma Lupa Licious and more. The food menu is nice too. We started with the hummus/tabouli/tzatziki served with warm pita wedges and long cucumber slices. It was a delicious and a refreshing alternative to most deep fried appetizers. For dinner I had the cajun chicken with mango salsa, black beans and rice which was spicy and very tasty. My husband had a hamburger and fries which he seemed to enjoy. Novi is a great spot to catch up with friends since it's close to I-275, 696 and 96 so I am definitely keeping this place in mind for a future hang out/get together spot.

To say that that the noise level is high is a gross understatement. Husband and I went with a friend to catch up on each other's lives....bad choice! We had to literally shout to be heard, and this morning we both have sore throats from it! Food is average, so is the service. Next time we'll try another restaurant in Fountain Walk.

I finally got a chance to eat here after seeing it open many times over the fall. I know the one out here in Ann Arbor is really popular on weekend nights, but I ended up here for lunch on a really cold Saturday so I got a different view. The bar itself is gigantic, with plenty of seating and a huge selection. As for food, their appetizers were definitely the best. The fry basket was gigantic; a heaping helping of fries that there was no chance of me finishing. We also got calamari for the table and it was served in a weird paper martini glass thingy with some yummy coleslaw-style salad. I had the gumbo, which wasn't that great (but few restaurants make good gumbo anyway), and some coffee, so it's hard to judge what a full meal might be like. Great service, solid appetizers, and plenty of seating made this a very acceptable place to grab lunch over at the Fountain Walk.

i used to be a server here, this place i can tell you truly from the inside to the out wants to make the guests happy, anytime anyone had a problem we were always told to make the guests happy no matter what, which some of the times meant entire free meals, the owners are great and like to pay attention to detail, the sandwiches here are the best, as well as the many signature drinks they have. The best happy hour ive ever seen, they have half off everything from 4-7 pm which is a steal, tuesdays they also have burgers for a buck and these are normal sized burgers...anyway id definitely recommend it to anyone, who is thinking about going out there for a large party or just a small get together...i cant wait till the next time im in the novi area to grab a brew and some food.

Great Happy Hour, not so great food! This place has many beers to choose from around the world. They could expand upon their MI micro brews, it is just a thought. Their food is expensive and lacks flavor. That is until you finished off a few pints.

A fun place to hangout after work, and on late Fri and Sat night... The fact that its next to Lucky Strike and the niteclub called Liquor Store - it gets lot of traffic on weekend! I haven't really tried their food, but the drinks are average priced.. Very attentive staff and professional late 20's crowd makes it a great place to spend weekend nights !

Recently had lunch here when I was in the area. Our server was terrific. The food is solid American fare with a few twists (carne aside tacos and chimichurri steak for example). I had the BLTT - bacon lettuce turkey and tomato. It was perfect. Friends had the fish and chips and the big bar Louie breakfast. They both enjoyed them. We did a dessert trio and the banana pudding was voted best followed closely by the campfire crunch. I had their flavored lemonade for a drink -get the blueberry! The prices aren't bad and the food was good. I will return.

Just in reference to Charles' one star review... While I imagine this gentleman was experiencing a tough time given his familial tumult, he was politely delivered a fairly reasonable request (Sir, you are one person taking up a table that seats eight. Could we seat you elsewhere?). This, of course, was a very busy evening, during a Detroit Red Wings play-off game. After cursing at the aforementioned manager, he walked out without paying his tab, leaving the server to pay for his Guinness. Not exactly behavior expected of someone purportedly familiar with the service industry. In other words, I wouldn't take his testimony too seriously. Given the other glowing reviews on this site, obviously few do. As far as losing him as a customer, I imagine the servers will be happy not having to foot the tabs he could potentially walk out on in the future. Make sure to check out their Happy Hour Specials (MON-FRI, 4-7pm): $2/$3 pints, $4 house wine, $5 select margaritas/martinis, 2-for-1 appetizers, and more!
