Always great hearty food at the Deadwood. Prime rib is a.staple here. The service is always frendly and courtious. The atmosphere is hunting log cabin and If you get bored there are 2 pool tables.

We decided to go here after work around 4.30 pm. Their Mojito isn't the best, but pretty good. Other Martinis were sooo good. Their Calamari sticks are to die for!! We were 6 of us and everyone shared so i got to try 6 different dishes. You wont go wrong with any chicken pastas for sure. Thwy have a very cozy patio perfect for relaxing with martini after work. Only thing I did not like were the garlic buttered toast they give. It was soaked in butter. Amost like a french toast except it was dipped in garlic butter instead of eggs..

I was lured in by the interesting menu. Based on experience, my wife and I felt certain that any chef who assembled such a menu would be creative. We were mistaken. I had the Traverse City Chicken Burger which was quite good. The kids seemed satisfied with their kids' meals, too. However, the dish improvised for my vegan wife was boring and bland ***at best***. Most restaurants which take any pride in their cuisine generally at least attempt to step up to the challenge; not in this case. The service was as indifferent as the chef's attempt at vegan improvisations. And ***slow***: when the server approached us for our main course order we asked for a few minutes to decide; she took 15 minutes at least. The place was nearly empty at the time. I wasn't watching the clock but after being served it seemed at least 30 minutes had passed before we were asked if we needed our drinks refilled, etc. I almost never leave less than 20% gratuity. I left a tad less than 15%. Upon initially reading the menu, I had once hoped that Deadwood would become a favorite. I had hoped to try the wild game, in particular. Oh, well.

I stopped in for a quick some carry out, because quite honestly, I pass by Deadwood everyday and thought they might have some great burgers and they did!! Ordered three to take home for my my boys and they like them a lot! Real pepper jack cheese, cooked just the way I ordered each one! The seasoned fries were delicious! The real treat, though, was for me! While I was waiting, I ordered an apple martini and it hit the spot! The bartender was also very nice and she helped turn a pretty sour work day into a pleasant experience! She also made a great martini!! I will be pulling into the Deadwood again soon!

I dined in at Deadwood Bar and Grill a couple days ago and sat outside on the patio.. It was a very nice time, plus the food was great.. I had the calamari as an appetizer it was so yummy.. I ll be back for that ..I can't complain about the food because the selection was great.. I did however have a very forgetful server (Paige) .. She seemed to forget my coffee several times and wasn't the most attentive .. She was missing for a long time and when she came back to check on us she forgot things .. I will be back but I ll make sure not too sit in her section.

Love! Start with a Wild Thang appetizer, try the ribs and cornbread, and end with a plate of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. If you feel adventurous, I recommend the venison chili (just a bit spicy) or the roadkill grill (bumper sticker included). Fun, relaxed atmosphere. We will be back.

We had planned on going to a different restaurant but ended up looking for an alternative and found Deadwood on the Yelp app and it happens to be my favorite TV show so we had to give it a try. We were here about 6.30 PM on a Saturday night, they said the wait would be 50 mins but it ended up being less. They seated us at a nice table near the window, I love the decor it feels like you're in a log house and they have lamps with bones and a big moose head on the wall. This is probably not a good place to bring animal activist friends to or vegans. We started off with the Buffalo BBQ Balls, buffalo meatballs with a Jack-Daniels BBQ balls. These are awesome! I love the meat flavor and the bbq flavor was a perfect combination. As the main dish I went with the Filet Mignon and I also added the wild green salad. The salad was delicious, lot's of fresh greens and pecan's. The filet mignon was pretty big and it was cooked like I had requested (medium). It was the best filet mignon I've had in a long time. I asked for the redskins potatoes, they were OK but nothing special. All in all, it was a really good meal. I just wish I had had room to try one of their desserts. The ambience was really nice, the restrooms were clean, the crowd at the restaurant all seemed to be decent people and it wasn't too loud. The service was excellent, we never had to wait to get our drinks refilled and she checked on us a number of times but not too often to be in the way either. The general manager also came by to make sure we were well taken care of, lately it has seemed like we don't typically run into the general manager of any of the restaurants we've been going to. We'll definitely be back here..SOON!!

It is what I imagine suburban people who have never been to the woods or eat game meat think a wilderness hunting lodge should be like. Food isnt very good, it is ok, just not good. Ive tried a few times and still do not like it.

This is the only place I can think of 'round these parts where you can order venison, rabbit, duck etc. I got the wild thang appetizer and liked every part of it - especially the duck nuggets and summer sausage. I also got the shepherds pie (it's not lamb though, it's beef) and I'd recommend it. The free cookies at the end are a nice touch, all homemade and gooey...

Fresh, local and delicious. I had the Traverse City chicken burger with goat cheese, arugula and cherry jam. It was perfect. My friend got the road kill special (the one that comes with a sticker) and LOVED it. The veggies were fresh (not frozen). Plate of homemade cookies for dessert, fresh from the oven. This is real food. (Also, antler chandeliers!)

The food and idea is interesting but the taste is nothing special. If you're in the area, it's a decent place to stop but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. If you have a dog though, ask for a bone. They give out free ones and your dog will love it.

If you thought you'd have to travel to the U.P to get your fix of venison or wild boar, you're wrong. Just under 30 miles from the Motor City , you'll find yourself transported to a large wooden cabin where there's a giant moose head to welcome you and a fire place to keep you warm. Deadwood Bar & Grill is a happening place with daily specials to keep things interesting. We went for the 'Road Kill' dish more out of curiosity than the appetizing name. We were served 3 large pieces of venison which had been cooked in bacon for that extra flavor. Each piece was cooked a little different (one was medium-rare, one was well done and one was a little too done) and had a slightly gamey taste but wasn't bad. The dish also came with broiled quail (watch out for those bones) and wild boar sausage. The quail was the darkest of the meat and the boar sausage was the juiciest. You can get a side of rice or potatoes (or better yet, sweet potatoes) with the dish and corn with rye bread and gravy. The portion size is enough to feed two and even if you finish all your food, you won't leave empty handed because everyone who gets this dish also receives a bumper sticker that says, 'I eat my roadkill'. Whether you stick it on your car is up to you but hey..., you gotta give them some credit for the unique souvenir, right? As a side note for those who have dogs, your loyal pal can enjoy the various beef bones of Deadwood Bar & Grill. Just look at the bottom of the daily menu and it will say if they have bones in at the moment. It's not an everyday thing but if they are in, just ask for a 'doggie' bag ;-)

Went her on 3-8-15 arrived about 5:30pm, and they were already slammed and the wait was an hour. But I didn't mind because my sole purpose was to have a prime rib dinner. First off the only reason it is 3 stars instead of 4 is staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and there isn't a whole lot of places to wait when they are that busy, BUT I am NOT saying service was bad, but just the opposite!!! Considering ALL the people wanting to get in there... Ok, wings were very good crispy sauced well, and the braided pretzels..!!! Hell yeah!! With the cheese sauce (get extra!!) were excellent. The prime rib was great, got it just the way I asked, and a lot of places can't even get that right, came with 2 sides but was potato and vegetable of the day, which I wish they would have just given an alternative of soup or salad which you can get, but at an extra charge... Because I didn't really care for the veggies, French onion soup was good but they didn't have the beer cheese that I really wanted to try, that is only on certain days I guess. Ribs were very good but were fall off the bone. They are a bit pricey but I will be back, I would recommend that you give them a try, and I it is closer to 3 &1/2 to 4 stars but can't give a half star, you may want to pick a different night other then Saturday...

I am a huge fan of Deadwood. We came here for the first time in a while last Saturday with my wife and son. The menu and atmosphere make it a great spot for a hearty fall/winter meal (or "feast" as my son called it). I tried the Venison Brochette for the first time which was awesome. The meat was cooked perfectly and the bacon and gravy served with it were a perfect complement. The side of corn was very good and the homemade black bread was awesome. My wife had the herb chicken which she was very happy with. What I appreciate about Deadwood is that their kids meals aren't an afterthought. My son's sandwich was big and sliced up in triangles for kids. When you get a fruit cup with most restaurant's kids menus the fruit is limp and is straight from the can. My son's fruit cup was very fresh and tasty. Their attention to the kid's menu is likely why Deadwood is so popular with families -- you can get a great meal for both kids and adults. For dessert you can't go wrong with the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

Oh Deadwood. I've tried to love you, I really have. I have concluded that it's not me, it's you. We need a break for a bit, a small seperation. Maybe we can work things out in the future. For now you will get 2.5 stars, which is right in the middle between bad and awesome. Starting with the positive, my husband really likes the campfire mushrooms. This is a little crock filled with button mushrooms which are sprinkled with some parmesan cheese. We are also a fan of the dark bread in the bread basket and I personally enjoy the fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil salad app with balsamic (aka caprese salad). The main problem we seem to encounter is food temperature related. Every warm dish we have ever ordered has come out luke warm at best, and the sides are often cold to the touch. Mushroom ravioli, though it has good flavor, should not be cold at the (pasta) ends and have a congealed, gloppy cold sauce on top. Roast chicken should not be undercooked (raw) with cold vegetables. My husband has expressed to me several times it reminds him of cafeteria style cooking, where perhaps items are previously prepared and held too long before plating. Who knows, but either way it is disappointing. Everything else is just a matter of taste, which is hard to argue with. Some people like certain things and others don't, but I'll still give you a heads up on two small things - at least you'll know what to expect when ordering. Personally, I find the Caesar dressing oddly sweet. The whitefish pate is really more a spread than a pate as it is a creamy saucy concoction with pieces of fish throughout, too creamy and not fishy enough (for me).. Management handled the chicken incident with class, by the way. Their apologetic solution was unnecessarily generous, but appreciated. Lastly, everybody seems to love the cookies here - but beware, though good, these guys are salty and filling!

Fun place. Great service. Noise level tolerable. No background music (hooray). HUGE portions. My salad would feed four normal mortals. Prices reasonable. Outside eating area looked very inviting, but had party poopers in tow.

We went here about 5yrs a go and liked it so we thought we would give it a try again. Went on Saturday around 5pm. Service was slow and all food was cold. Tortilla chips were stale. It was over priced for the quality of food. We wont go here again.

This is another situation where if I had reviewed Deadwood a year ago, my rating would have been higher. The variety of food, in general, is good. I like coming here with family because there's something to please everyone, even those with a little more exotic tongue like, with the roadkill platter. The two dishes that have been reliable are the prime rib and fish & chips (or mac). They have a bottomless portion of f&c which is a nice option for those who have a larger appetite. The sides are average, their baked potato is of the variety you would make at home, no salt rub or anything just about as plane jane as you can get. I remember their fish tacos being good too. As for starters, I have no beef with their clam chowder and venison chili. The combo platter of duck, buffalo balls, etc. is also good but a step above what you would get having the regular cheese stick, potato skin kind of combo platter. Beer selection is good and there's a full bar. The bartenders work their butts off. Unfortunately we chose to avoid a long wait for a table and sat at the bar this past visit. They were so busy making drinks for the service window that our service suffered, good for business, but not ours. I do love the ambience/lodge feeling here. It's especially nice during the Holidays. You definitely feel at home. We'll be back but probably choose to sit at a table, and avoid the recent dishes that Yelpers have given poor ratings to.

Food and service is inconsistent. It can be good but when it's bad it's really a waste of money and disappointing. No one HAS to go out to eat. The food isn't cheap here so the dining experience should be special. At the very least, the food should be good if not excellent. This place had earned a low score based on my experience. There is no excuse for poor service nor is their any excuse for food that is good one day and lousy the next. I didn't complain to management just have them offer something that fails to makeup for the poor food and service and ruins the experience.. I don't think there is any reason to return. But hey! Many people love this place - if you like road kill - their words not mine.

First timers, we came in to check and see what it's all about. Great martini menu, and the menu is just okay. I had the macaroni and cheese, it was very good. I'm sure very funny. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich, it was okay. Our waitress seemed to be very busy, it was hard to get a water, ranch for a buffalo wings, or a second drink for that matter. A good place to come, close to home, seems like I need patio atmosphere, but our visit was just so-so.

Deadwood is a Northville staple. They do have some good meat but I find their menu needs a bit of a refresher. Been going here for years and nothing much has changed. Even the specials are always the same. Id like to see some variety added here. Salads are big but too much lettuce and minimal toppings. The Mozzerella and pesto appetizer is a must. One thing not to miss is the sparkler enhanced plate of chocolate chip cookies when dining out for a birthday! So fun, and the cookies are some of my favorites - super salty :)

Crabby wait staff. Showed them a chip in my water glass and got a dirty look and heavy sigh. Took 5+ minutes to get a replacement.

Went here with a group of friends. The atmosphere is very wood-cabin-esque with lots of exposed wood, antlers, and animal heads. It's a cozy atmosphere and the outdoor seating area looked nice, along with the two pool tables indoors that I was sorely tempted to try. We had a wait, but thankfully, there is a small group of wood and leather chairs you can sit in while you wait. We were even given drinks and were able to order an app while we waited. We ordered the creek fries, which are lightly fried, thick cut potatoes smothered in cheese, bacon, and other toppings. It was a big, greasy and overly cheesy dish. It was good for about 5 bites, then the amount of fat just got to me too much. We were seated after and ordered the BBQ plate, the venison brochettes, the filet and the "buffaloaf." My husband really enjoyed the BBQ. I found the ribs a little too soft and "falling off the bone" to me, but the sauce and seasoning were pretty good. My venison brochette didn't taste like venison so much as it tasted like bacon-wrapped meat. Not a lot of flavor, just meat texture. I was sorta disappointed. If I didn't have the gravy, it would've been worse. My friend which ordered the filet was pleased, although the roasted mushrooms she didn't want we're tasty in my opinion. Our other companion which ordered the buffaloaf attempted to devour it immediately. We were able to score a few bites and declared it delicious -- although it was huge. The coleslaw which came with my husband's BBQ was made incorrectly and tasted like Someone made it with butter. Yes, butter. We notified our server and she promised to look into it. The service was good, the food was good, too. Although, I wouldn't really recommend my venison brochette dish. They did have an extensive specials list for the day that I should've ordered off of.

We have been to Deadwood 2 times once for lunch and once for dinner. First let me say they have a great log lodge atmosphere and decorate real nice for Christmas season. The dinner my wife and I went for was great! we first ordered the BBQ buffalo balls. (Relax they are meatballs) they were awesome as was the venison chili. My wife had pine nut pesto salmon and she said it was good but wished she would have ordered the steak instead. I had the prime rib and it was delicious! We also went for lunch another day. My son had the buffalo burger and loved it. Wife had the U.P. scramble and said it was delicious! Highly recommended. I had the prime rib sandwich. Very good! Only negative was the ice cream sandwich. Was ok. They have 2 pool tables and a few tv's. Nice place. We will for sure return!

I really don't understand how this place has such high ratings. Perhaps it's one of those places that's been around for so long that it's accrued a devoted following of longtime Northville residents? I haven't honestly pored over the other reviews myself, but I definitely remember my first impressions of Deadwood, despite that it's been months since we dined there. We ordered a wild game appetizer to start with, and everything was tough, overcooked, and dry. My entree was salmon with veggies and sweet potatoes, and it was all overcooked, too. My veggies were essentially mush, and my sweet potatoes looked like overcooked hockey pucks. Everything on my plate was swimming in liquid, presumably from my veggies, and despite that, my salmon still managed to be dry. I couldn't believe how much liquid was there when I drained it off onto my side plate. My husband gave me a bite of his venison brochette, to see if I wanted to switch, and I could barely swallow it. It tasted like the meat had gone bad. Even dessert was a huge disappointment. We got banana cream pie, except it wasn't pie at all. It was served in a boat-shaped casserole dish, and 3/4ths of the "pie" was a mountain of store-bought cool whip. I wish I were exaggerating. I should have known better when the server told us there was "quite a bit of whipped cream on it". Speaking of the server, I gave this place an extra star for the service alone. Overall, this place left a bad taste in my mouth and an awful feeling in my stomach later that night. The food was bad, and the service was, in my opinion, its one saving grace. I would not go back if someone paid me to.

Went with my wife on a Saturday night, sat down immediately. The BBQ ribs were amazing, and my wife had the Shepherd's Pie, which as also fantastic. Family-friendly atmosphere, several families with babies and small children dining that night. All seemed to be having a great time. My 5-star moment happened when I was ordering a beer. They had a couple I hadn't tried before, and our waitress brought me two sample glasses in addition to the beer I ordered. My wife ordered the white sangria... very tasty and strong! The menu has a lot of great options and we will definitely be back!

Very nice place to eat, especially if you like a good burger! They give you the option of either beef or buffalo. They also have a couple duck options on their menu. Very tasty and juicy burgers! My boyfriend and I had a waitress wait on us and it was her first time. She ended up spilling my water all over the table and myself lol. It's all good!

The show was better than the restaurant. First we started off ordering apps and what do you know?! Our entrees come out first! They ask if we want all of it at once or if we want the apps first? Uh we ordered apps because we wanted apps! Secondly, the food was meh. They said they remade the food but after 28 years in the restaurant business between myself and my girlfriend we can tell when food had been under a heat lamp. The food was bland and you could tell it wasn't "fresh". I'd give two and half stars if I could but that's only because the prime rib was tender but not much flavor, no rub on it. My girlfriends ribs were dry and again could tell they may have been a little older than they should have been. They could be really good if they had a chef or manager over seeing things but it was a bunch of people running the show with no sign of management or owner.

Let me start by saying this is a really cool place with friendly staff and good food. The place wasn't too terribly busy when we arrived at around 6pm and was only a 25 minute wait...what a great opportunity to sit at the bar and try some different beers. The dining area and rest of the place was really neat with a cool wild-life motif. The menu was decent and provided many options regardless of your dietary and hunger needs. Prices were quite reasonable, and offerings very interesting...not your typical diner menu. The outside patio looked as if it would be really fun on warmer/drier days. The only bad, which is NO reflection on the staff or management of this restaurant, was the ridiculous amount of children in this place...WTH people, take your freakin noisy window-lickers to Chuck-E-Cheese not this adult themed restaurant. (Mini-rant ahead) What kind of dork parent, thinks a place like this is fun for their kid..its not! Go to something like Denny's or Big Boy where when your kid(s) start ranting, chanting and raving (this happened with a large group that included kids who were being ignored by the a-hole adults that brought and ignored them), they will fit right in with the rest of the red-necks. (End of mini-rant) I would certainly go back but possibly later in the evening, hopefully the kids would all be in bed by then...then again something tells me these idiot parents lug their kids around later as well. The bottom line...I would go back and even recommend to others, even if there were kids there lol, This place is awesome.

While I did not get a drink on my visit. I did enjoy the fact that they did have what seemed to be some excellent choices. All of their sandwiches in which they brought out to others and the on that I actually put in my face looked and were amazing. The sounds looked outstanding as well. Tough to give this place any less than 5 stars.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on a busy Saturday night. There was a bit of a wait, but it was significantly shorter than they estimated and we were seated in a timely manner. Food was amazing, and there were many interesting options. I had the barbeque chicken, and my boyfriend had the venison skewers. Their portions are HUGE so you will definitely have leftovers.

My parents, brother and I went recently. Had heard good things, was excited to see how it was. I ordered the Houghton burger, and subbed for a buffalo patty. It was was amazing. My brother got the road kill grill, he loved his meal as well. My parents got ribs and a steak, they were raving about both. Everything was prepared expertly. They also had a good variety of beer to go with it. Also our service was some if the best I've had in a long time. Our waitress was timely, she knew the menu and beer list by heart, and was right there when we needed something. Was really impressed. The manager was walking around, checked to make sure everything was going well. They stayed on the perfect side of checking on you vs. nagging while you're trying to eat. The decor of this place is great, nice hunting lodge feel. Can't wait to go back. One last thing, get the cookies!

Just visited after a long hiatus. Just haven't had the opportunity to stop in for a few years. I have to say it was again as it always was a great experience. They did a great job accommodating me and decent sized group. The food was great just like I remember but the service was impeccable. We had two great ladies taking care of us. Karen and Lauren. They were awesome, we had people ordering at different times and they both were super friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone whether it's for a quick drink or a great meal and anywhere in between. Thanks again for all your hard work ladies and keep it up!!

Great food, horrible service...went tonight and waited 20 minutes to give our orders. Then we ordered apps, drinks, and our meals. After another half hour, we finally had to ask if our appetizers were coming. Fast forward to 2 hours after arriving our table of four had to ask for a check! My aunt was visiting from out of town, and I wanted a good restaurant for her to enjoy on the way from the airport. This was a big letdown!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Deadwood Bar & Grill before now. It sports a unique, backwoods vibe, and everything Deadwood serves up is worth eating. To start off, the whitefish pate is delish, as are the duck tenders. For an entree, you can't go wrong with the prime rib. And for dessert? You can't top the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies!

Strongly recommend! Another post-mountain biking feast (after riding Maybury State Park)... found this place on yelp and shot down through Northville. I really like how it feels like you're up north at this place. It doesn't have a lot around it and the patio is super cool/nice. The entrance reminds me of a ski chalet in colorado; pool table right in front, huge bar, awesome! Food is good, not great, better than just "ok". If you read my reviews, you know I am very VERY selective on 5/5s... this place isn't there... but it's on my list of where to eat after biking on the way back, which means you should stop by and eat here if you're looking for a good spot for some food. I ordered a turkey ruben sandwich and also had the potato soup. My buddy had the fish and chips and some mac and cheese.

The Deadwood is a log cabin on Northville Road and the inside is casual. The food is good and the service is very good. The wait staff was friendly. We were there a week ago on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy. The patio was full but there was room inside. The whitefish on a plank was seasoned nicely and served with vegetables. Marcia had the prime rib which she liked as well. This is an establishment that is actually 3 1/2 stars as it is good, and consistent, but nothing that stands out. Neither of us had been there in a couple of years, but did enjoy the evening and dinner. I would recommend it if you are in the neighborhood or even driving down I-275 near the 7 Mile exit.

My husband and I decided to drive Hines to Northville and saw that this place was close. Cute place, very diverse clientele, and a bit expensive. We had an appetizer that was decent. The dinner was horrible. He ordered the game combo, which I cant remember the name (we left the bumper sticker on the table). He said the quail was OK but he doesn't really know what to compare it to since he has never had it before. The venison was freezer burned. Wouldn't you notice that while cooking it? Anyways I ordered the Guinness BBQ chicken. I picked at it, it was roasted in the beer then slathered in a BBQ sauce that was a little different. Slaw was chewy and the corn bread was like a cornflour cupcake. We both had mashed potato with our meal, it was old and had an unfamiliar spice to it. Our server was great. We won't be back.

Deadwood is close to our home in Northville and has become one of our favorites. The service is always good and food the same. We love the casual atmosphere - especially sitting outside in the spring, summer, and fall. Inside is truly unique - an antler theme. There is also a fireplaces inside if you are lucky enough to sit by it. They also have a large, feasting table for 12, pool tables, cozy lounge tables, and low tops - which makes it fun for various outings. Our kids love the Wild Thing appetizer (buffalo balls, whitefish pate, venison sausage, fried duck ravioli).

Much better than I expected! The mushroom appetizer we had was really really good. I wimped out though I wanted to order something a little more edgy, I had a michigan type salad with grilled chicken. It was very very good. I hear the buffalo burgers are pretty tasty, and I will get some other types of interesting food. Atmosphere is woodsy and rustic, but the staff is young and very attentive. Our waitress was super friendly and had knowledge of the menu, not afraid to make recommendations. Check it out if you are in town.

I have loved this place for a long time. My two favorites are the BBQ Beef sandwich and the club. Nice patio on the side for fun summer nights of Oberon. The service is always good and this place is great for family get togethers. Great staple of Northville.

The food is excellent and the berry shortcake is to die for! I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal there. Tonight I stopped in just for a bowl of their delicious clam chowder!

Road Kill Platter. Yep. It's the first thing I saw on the menu. I almost spit out my drink I was laughing so hard! And if you order this mix of venison, quail, and wild boar sausage you even get a bumper sticker that says, "I eat my road kill". I skipped this delicacy but I should have been forewarned that the Deadwood Bar and Grill was not going to be an ordinary bar. First- it looks like a rustic Wisconsin hunting lodge with the fire twinkling away in the corner, and the chairs and chandeliers made from antlers. And to top it all off there are knotty pine walls and even fake trees. There are also two pool tables, and an outdoor seating area complete with a campfire fire pit. It all adds up to comfortably casual. The food was quite good. I had the NY strip (perfectly cooked) and my dining companion had the filet. Both came wit h our choice of potato (I went with baked but there was also mashed, fries, or rice). And for a little more- I was able to get a salad. If I were you- skip the salad as it's basically iceberg lettuce with one tomato wedge. There are daily specials, like Shepard's pie and cheddar potato soup, a range of sandwiches, salads, and while I didn't try any of them- the dessert menu looked great with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Service was spot on- friendly and efficient. Shanya made us feel welcome and really knew the menu well- offering up her recommendations and pointing out the specials. And she kept our drinks full. Oh, and on the weekends? Use the "call ahead" feature. They don't take reservations but if you call 30 minutes before you arrive- they will put you on the list getting you a seat almost immediately upon walking in the door. Interesting place with some crazy things on the menu, a bit off of the beaten path, but certainly worth the trip!

We pulled in almost 8 o' clock on a Friday to a busy parking lot. We were told a 35 minute wait, so we went to the bar to have a beer or two. I DO like the interior, but do not take a strict vegan here lol. Wow, the bartender was not friendly at all...thanks for setting the tone. I guess she was incapable of smiling-seriously this pissed me off on top of the sub-par Blue Moon. Beers are a bit high, and in my opinion not cold enough and the carbonation tasted off. After we were seated, we actually got a pleasant server, Renee?, and she recommended the Wild Thing platter app. It was decent- the buffalo balls were tasty- made me think a buffalo burger there could be good. The clam chowder was good. We ordered the walleye which tasted really fresh, but I feel lacked flavor as I shook plenty of s & p on it. Lastly, after all the rave reviews over the cookies we got some to go. I will be 100% honest when I saw they tasted more like a salty snack. Not good. I left feeling like I wished I went to Uptown Grille and got ice cold drafts and mouth watering cookies. Oh well, there is always a last time, and yesterday was mine at Deadwood.

Great place year round! Love the atmosphere inside and out! There is an extensive menu, however, I only eat fish and LOVE the fish tacos! If they have it, I bring my dog home a bone! My daughter loves their spare ribs, too! Great place for family with billiards.

Overall: The food here is excellent and different. The portions are huge and prices aren't overly expensive. There is a long wait, especially on weekends in the winter when they don't have the patio/firepit area open. Excellent prepared food and also gamey meat prepared for your everyday diner. Cool hunting lodge atmosphere, that one could say is a little tacky, but it fits. --Food-- I love how the menu has a wide variety of meals. The roadkill platter has all types of different game meat, and they are tasty. This really is a must order even if you don't typically eat these meats, it is very fun to share them with your friends/family. I should also add, that they do NOT taste very gamey and the chef did an excellent job bringing game meat into a mainstream palate. The venison chili is very good and has a little bit of a kick. It makes an excellent appetizer. It once again is prepared very well and if it didn't advertise venison, then you probably wouldn't even know your eating it. The Prime Rib is the best thing on the menu. You get a HUGE portion, it is moderately priced, and cooked to perfection. I'm usually hesitant to order Prime Rib due to the fact that medium to several restaurants means running off the plate, but here it only had a pink center. The cooks had it exactly the way you would want a medium prime rib, as over cooking it ruins it and having it too raw isn't for everyone. Excellent seasoning on it. If your sensitive to salt you might want to skip it, but then again if your sensitive to salt you shouldn't be eating a well prepared piece of meat ;) I'm not a huge fan of fish, but must say the walleye was very good. If your like me and only eat shellfish, I suggest trying the walleye. It doesn't have that fishy taste or texture that you would normally expect. The ribs are alright here, but I would skip them in lew of the other delicious items on the menu. --Service-- Okay, there is a bit of a wait here, but they have tons of chairs for you to sit in, and a waitress conveniently going around for you to order drinks. One may say that this is a nice service they provide, or that the lounge chairs and arrangement help build atmosphere; however, I'm not one of those people. I could be wrong, but it seems like a way to get you shelling out money on drinks. They know the food is good, not much competition in the area, and if you're going out of your way to dine here, then you aren't going to be appalled by a wait, so why not provide customers with an opportunity to buy a bunch of drinks? The staff is friendly, knowledgeable of all the items on the menu/drinks, and attentive. --Atmosphere-- You walk in and you feel like you're in a hunting lodge. It's pretty cool, but a trendy snooty reviewer would say tacky. It's exactly the atmosphere they're trying to create and if you're going to eat this kind of food, it shouldn't bother you. There's an awesome firepit patio for the summer time. I've never eaten out there, but I really want to. There's also some pool tables that take up a lot of space. I don't play pool, so I'd prefer them to not be there. Atmosphere/activity that promotes drinking and passing time vs seating? I obviously have a bias there. I've never been here very late night, so perhaps they are used more and the bar activity takes over from the restaurant.

Deadwood is part of a group of restaurants that include my more local version, Beaver Creek. It is very similar in quality and menu selection and comes through with the same general top notch eatery. Good ribs, Steaks and even Fried Fish. I'll be back...

This is the place when we meet up with friends on that side of town. This is a great and cozy restaurant. We just went last Thursday night just about a half hour before the kitchen closed. (Sorry to the chef) We had the sweetest and "funnest" waitress. She was the only one working the floor and there were quite a few tables going but she just continued on, apologizing for the wait and although she was busy, had the best attitude and all with a smile on her face. The food is always HUGE and I've never had a bad meal there in all my years. The salmon sandwich was D-liscious as well as the mushroom appes and creek fries. I've had the fish taco's and they were yummy. Their Bloody Mary's or "Bloody Moose" is killer good with a piece of venison sausage on a skewer. Love Deadwood! We'll be back!

I've lived in the area since this place opened and I don't know why I've never gone here. Could be the parking lot is always packed and didn't want to wait. Finally made it out before the rush one evening and glad I did. It's dominated by the locals. The theme is log cabinish but the food is well above the flare. Premium cuts of meat cooked perfectly is the focus here. We tried the prime rib with au jus and the strip steak and both were excellent. Meat was very tender, seasoned, and cooked just right. Sides and salad were ok. There's a reason why the locals keep coming back. Expect a wait when attending.

If you like wild game or a non traditional place to eat, you have to stop in here. This place is awesome inside feeling like you are in up north Michigan! I ordered the road kill grill which has venison, quail, and wild boar sausage. I have eaten here a few time seeing as it is just a few minuets from my house and would highly recommend it!

We went here tonight after seeing it recommended on yelp, when making the reservation I was told the only time they could fit us in was 8:10, but when we arrived there were quite a few tables open. We were seated right next to the kitchen which drive me nuts as I had to keep watching the door being opened and closed. It felt like closing time during the whole meal they were moving chairs out of the restaurant into the kitchen, carrying chairs in their backs, sweeping the restaurant and putting stuff away. The atmosphere was not relaxing. We were finished by 9pm. The food was good but not exceptional. For a family of 5 the bill was just under $150 which I think was overpriced considering the ambiance of the restuarant. No bread or extras were provided either, not even mints with the check.

  • Allison F.

The atmosphere is really cool. Even the chairs have a woodsy theme to them. It does get busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait unless you are willing to eat at 8PM, which is fine by me. The staff is very sweet. The highlight of this place is the GAME MEAT! There are far and few places to find meats like boar and duck on the menu around here. It's a difficult thing to cook, but the chefs have it down. This place is great for families....especially on a Sunday night.

My husband and I were looking for a new restaurant to try when I stumbled upon Deadwood in a yelp search. We went on a Friday night and my fellow reviewers are right, it was a loooong wait. Bad news first: I can see how some people would like the two pool tables however they take up a ton of space that could be used for seating. There is also quite a bit of space taken up by comfy chairs for people waiting for a table. My solution to the long wait would be eliminate one or both pool tables, consolidate the waiting space and add more dining tables. Good News: I ordered the Jerk Chicken Pasta, it was delicious! Just enough spice to be good without choking ;) My husband got the Roadkill Grill, he liked it. (I tried all of it but personally prefer a less gamey meat). I like the overall atmosphere and the staff for the most part were friendly and knowledgeable. (they had four hostesses on which seemed like a lot and they were very, very chatty with each other. (They weren't saying or doing anything inappropriate however if they were my staff I would want them to be finding things to do, after all what are they being paid for?) this place will probably go into our rotation of frequented places however we do have to take our time available into account.

First visit and there will be a second. In case it isn't clear, this is the same group responsible for Camp Ticonderoga, The Moose Preserve and some other place in Westland. Potato chip encrusted Walleye...too much cheese, unfortunate since the fish was cooked quite well. Somewhat irritating when a dish with great potential is reduced to the lowest common diner. Could be, should be better. Michigan mushrooms were just that, a bowl of mushrooms with some loose grated cheese. Great for a mushroom lover like me, maybe a bit overwhelming for normal people. Service was very good, attentive. Sat outside under the heaters and was quite comfortable. Tap selections were excellent.

This review is in regards only to the food that I had. A search for local eats brought me to Deadwood Bar & Grill after work one day. Stopped by for take out on the way home got the Roadkill Special consisting of quail, wild boar sausage, venison tenderloins, and delicious homemade gravy... Fun to try and taste but not as delicious as it was unique. Comes with a cool bumper sticker! Will probably stick with normal food next time. Perhaps the experience will be different for dining in as well.

My new favorite place in Northville! Wouldn't think much of this place driving by, but do stop, the food is awesome. Started out with the Roasted Garlic appetizer, which consisted of roasted garlic, roasted peppers, olive relish, alouette cheese with some grilled french bread, and a slice of heaven, soooo good. I had the Warm Grilled Chicken Salad and it was very yummy, but my husbands salad was better. He got the Smoked Turkey Waldorf Salad and it was amazing. The service was great, the food is outstanding. I will be back to try more of the menu.

Yeah! Deadwood is the shit. I came here on a surprise date with my lady. I called ahead to get on the waiting list and told them I would be there in about half an hour. Half an hour later we got there and let them know we had arrived. They said it would be a few minutes so we sat at the bar and ordered a drink. Cold beer on tap and made to order drinks. Shortly after we got our drinks our table was ready. We sat down and our waitress came by to check us out. We went with the Drunken Buck Cheese Dip for an app. It was bomb. It's the kind of cheese dip you want to dip your balls in just to absorb the wonderfulness that it is. I had the chicken & ribs for dinner and it was very fucking good. The meat was tender, juicy and had it's own flavor without the bbq sauce. The bbq sauce was also the shit. All around it's a fun environment with tasty food. The service was spot on and it was well worth the money. A wonderful fucking place to eat and drink.

Great burgers, shepherd's pie is tasty, lots of comfort food on the menu. Pretty decent beer selection. Great fireplace and who doesn't like lots of dead animals stuffed and mounted on the wall unless you are one of those wacko PETA liberal anti hunting types? I've always had great service here, have never had a bad meal, and just love the ambiance of this place. It's definitely in the regular rotation of places I go on a regular basis and have been here more times than I can count. I'm going there tomorrow night and can't wait.

A restaurant full of MEAT?!! Now, that's a restaurant. 3.5 stars. As you walk into Deadwood, you feel like you've enter a hunter's den. There's moose, deer, elk heads, etc, all mounted along the walls of this wooden log restaurant. That was a tad surprising walking in. My friend and I sat in their outdoor seating area. It was a gorgeous night, and we were hungry for some MEAT! After deciding to split an appetizer and entree, my friend and I looked at their "interesting" drink specials. She chose a strawberry, captain, kahlua drink. It came out a frozen blended drink. It tasted mostly like strawberry, but the kahlua did a little weird kick to it. I wasn't quite a fan. I ordered a green dragon- absolut citrus with melone. It...tasted like a lifesaver. Enough said. We ordered the Wild Thang appetizer, as it looked like it had a good selection of odd items. It had rabbit ravioli....which had the consistency of tunafish in deep fried ravioli pockets, whitefish pate- which tasted like seafood dip, battered duck- which didn't taste like duck, but more like chicken, venison sausage- which was actually pretty good. I really liked the sausage, and buffalo balls- which tasted like meatballs slathered in sauce. I wasn't a fan of how much of the meat was slathered in sauces.... so I couldn't even taste the meat? For our entree, we split an entire rack of ribs. We both have been on the search for GOOD ribs around the area, but haven't had any luck. The ribs were definitely meaty- there were thick pieces of meat around each bone, so they didn't rip us off at all! It was just.... a tad dry and tougher. I was hoping it would be more of a fall-off-the-bone, type of dish? The BBQ sauce was at least good. All in all, the atmosphere was nice, and I hear their cookies are amazing. The food though? I guess I was expecting a "roar, this is the fruits of my hunt!" type of meat, instead of their flavor lost in the midst of sauces....maybe I should have gotten the roadkill platter?

Deadwood is a true original, not cheap eats per se but with large portions that make it worth the price. I will give you Deadwood is not the best choice of monikers, rather offputting actually, the food however is rustic deliciousness. This restaurant specializes in game and rather manly food, complete with quality scotch and a cigar bar but don't worry ladies there is plenty to enjoy even for our crowd. I love the appetizers here. The Roasted Garlic platter is a delight that includes roasted peppers, olive relish and alouette cheese with the grilled french bread. The Whitefish Pate is tasty, a slight smoky taste, mildly fishy with fresh dill and cream cheese. If you want to go whole hog I recommend the Wild Thang appetizer, a sampling of the pate, spicy venison sausage, rabbit ravioli, duck tenders and BBQ buffalo balls. A true hunter's delight. The salads here are huge and I haven't had one yet I did not like. Warm Grilled Chicken Salad is lovely with strawberries, sunflower seeds and mandarin oranges. The Blue Cheese Harvest Salad is great with dried cherries and walnuts. The Smoked Turkey Waldorf is a favorite, using a honey vinaigrette rather than gooey mayo to join the celery, apples, grapes and walnuts, so yummy. The Spinach Salad which is a frequent special has the tastiest dressing and is a favorite of my mother's. The Fiesta Salad is very popular but I have yet to sample this taco style concoction. If you are hungry, the BBQ sandwiches, chicken or beef, could feed you for the whole day. Definitely use a knife and fork, these are serious sammies. Upgrade to fries or onion rings, the chips are nothing spectacular. The burgers are half pounders and you have your choice of beef, buffalo or ostrich. Ostrich is much leaner and better for you but I prefer the taste of buffalo, still better for you than beef at any rate. You can ask for a side garden or wild green salad and do my burger salad trick and feel a lot less guilty about your burger indulgence, they are very accomodating in here. The other sandwiches are quite large and reportedly very tasty but I have too many other things I like here. The steaks here are well cooked and seasoned. The game is just so well prepared. The road kill grill platter with venison, quail (yummy) and wild boar sausage is fun and even comes with an "I eat my road kill" bumper sticker. I think the venison is better in the Venison Brochette, but anything wrapped in bacon is bound to taste delicious. I am not a fan of the Buffaloaf, but I am clearly in the minority as it is quite popular. The BBQ ribs, chicken and shrimp look great but I have too many BBQ places I eat that at to indulge here. The prices of the entrees are much higher, quality stuff but if you are looking for a deal stick to a salad or sandwich. Specials are always worth a whirl. I love the tender Pot Roast on Tuesdays, the all you can eat Fish and Chips on Wednesdays, the Pot Pie on Fridays and the Turkey Dinner on Sundays. During the summer they have had Bacon Wrapped Hotdogs with Potato Salad and Baked beans and a to die for Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella salad. If you see either option on the menu, they are a must try. Desserts here are massive. My faves are the homemade chocolate chip cookies, ask for some ice cream and make cookie ice cream sammies if you really want to be bad. The S'mores are a fun treat, I love toasting marshmallows! The strawberry shortcake is just yum and big enough for three. Do not order your own dessert after dinner or you may never finish it. If you are looking for big hearty and fresh food with a bit of a twist I highly recommend Deadwood.

HATS OFF to the grill cook! I have not had a burger that good in YEARS!!!!! We ventured to Deadwood on Mother's Day for brunch and it was soooo good! Our reservations were right on schedule, the service was perfect and my food was wonderful! I decided to order my first Buffalo burger ever, and boy, I did not regret it! The meat was very similar to beef but tastier. I'm not sure if they seasoned it or what (I didn't taste any seasoning) but it was so darn flavorful. I usually have to reach for the ketchup and mustard to spruce up a hamburger, but this one would have been ruined if I added anything. The flavor was way too good to mess with. And it is the first burger I have ordered in years that was actually cooked "medium" how I like it... just enough pink inside to keep it juicy!! My daughter ordered the Grand Marnier french toast. I can only say that it looked fab. My daughter said it tasted fab too. The rest of the fam ordered omelets and Huevos Rancheros. No one was raving about any of their egg dishes, but they didn't complain either. I WILL say they were all staring at my burger!! I had to give up half for my brother to try. He went nuts too! He LOVED it!! I noticed that they have free chocolate chip cookies during lunch hours on Monday 11-2. Yum-o!

Food is actually pretty good for an out of the way place in Northville. They are big on venison type foods - buffalo, etc. Really higher quality. Service was excellent the times I was there. Commonly used for "retirement events" and "going away parties" by local businesses. Very roomy and not too loud.

Now, don't get scared by the menu when you go here, especially with items like 'Road Kill Special', etc. They have game meat on their menu, such as buffalo, venison, rabbit, etc. I love their grilled chicken salad, the sampler is a must - it has 5 different kinds of meat you normally would not eat. You can also get a bumper sticker, fresh baked cookies. Sit outside during the summer. They also have full bar, couple pool tables if you want to kill some time while waiting for food. Anyone that comes to visit me for the first time here in MI, I always take them here first. So far, everyone has loved it.

The caprizee salad is one of the best in the city, we sometimes order as the main entry. It's always a unique menu, vast selection, and options. Atmostsphere is rustic, with indoor and outdoor seating options.

Brought to you from by the same folks who brought you the Moose Preserve. Same burger and comfort food menu in the same cool "Up North" atmosphere. This is a perfect place for us to stop for dinner on the way out to Whalers hockey games in Plymouth, or to meet for a un-hurried mid-afternoon meal with friends on the west side. Among my favorite meals here are the Shepard's Pie, weekly turkey dinner specials, and the huge burgers. Go hungry, or be prepared to take leftovers home as the portions are, like the Moose Preserve's. H-U-G-E!

What can I write that will do the Deadwood Bar & Grill justice? The food is outstanding. The service is top-notch. The atmosphere, in all it's rustic, be-antlered glory, is wonderful. Even waiting for a table is fun, if you can grab one of their piney arm chairs. I recently took a good friend to the Deadwood for her birthday. I wanted to treat her like a Queen for the night...so my expectations were high. The staff of the Deadwood exceeded my expectations. Emily got the ribs. I got the black & blue steak. Both were excellent. The wait staff treated Emily like royalty. She got not one, but two, free desserts. (An aside: a dessert with a sparkler is far more effective than the cheesy songs one sees in other restaurants.) The Deadwood is a special place. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The atmosphere and food were wonderful! Great place to go if you're looking for some more uncommon carnivore fare. Only disappointment was the poor handling of our large group. Despite calling an hour ahead, and being told we could make a reservation for a group, our party still wound up fragmented among multiple tables at all ends of the restaurant to avoid an additional 1.5 hour wait.

April 30,2012 Deadwood bar and Grill: we were in the area and Lynn saw this strange looking place so we figured we would check in out even though we were the only car in the lot. Very different look with a very different menu. Don't look at the price just go with the offerings. Lynn had the regular burger which rated about average in taste (I thought it looked like a burger when bars made great bar burgers). I had a chicken burger with goat cheese and a spicy jam that you should try for an unusual good taste. Needed a little crunch (later I realized they forgot the bacon) which would have upped it a notch. Great service and personality all its own. All in all we will return - I need to try a few road kill selections. Jack and Lynn

I don't care what you have to eat, just get the hot-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies for dessert and I promise you'll be happy. They - are - THE BEST :) Nice "woods-in-Michigan" atmosphere and a unique and diverse menu (including Game) that is sure to have everyone in your party finding something they like.

We really enjoy the outdoor patio area here, we had the BBQ Beef Sandwich and BBQ Chicken Sandwich, they are HUGE, and a little strong on the BBQ Flavor. They have a wide variety on the kids menu, my daughter likes the buttered noodles. We also had the Banana Cream Pie, not really a pie, it is Graham Cracker Crumbs with Banana Pudding, with Bananas and covered with Whipped Topping.

Whenever Kelly and I visit her family in Northville, we go to the Deadwood. Multiple times. Multiple times in one day, even. As Tyler Durden implored Lou, "We LIKE this place." And what's not to like? They have the three Bs -- bourbon, bambi and babes. As to the latter, I am of course referring to the friendly and attentive service of the staff (relax Kelly, you are the only one for me!). Small batch bourbons from Jim Beam abound, as well as my favorite roughneck, Wild Turkey 101. Morning, noon, or night, luscious game meats await you, from the Road Kill Special (roast venison, broiled quail, wild boar sausage) to venison sausage in beer cheese to venison wrapped in bacon to eggs scrambled with venison sausage. And, critically, all at very affordable prices, as Chicago restaurants will rape your wallet when you order game. The walls are just as full as the menu with game trophies, and the ceilings hang with antler chandeliers. Its the ultimate convenience of a hunter's lodge without having to drive all the way out into that pesky wilderness. They even have a stuffed moose in the basement - I have the pictures to prove it! Finally, the Deadwood also has a 40's good time alcoholic vibe on their menus and promotions, echoing old time Madison Avenue and Modern Drunkard magazine, if you are familiar with that fine magazine. Any establishment that discourages cash gifts in lieu of their gift certificates because your friends "will just spend it on booze" is OK with me. If you are ever visiting the western suburbs of Detroit, definitely check out Deadwood. If you live in the western suburbs of Detroit, well you've probably already been there!

We stayed at The Inn at St. Johns the day (and night) after our wedding and were looking for something low-key but good for dinner. Started with appetizers: roadkill sampler, some type of cheese dip and mushroom caps. I was a little disappointed with the mushrooms, as they tasted canned, but the other two were great. For entrees, our table had ribs, chicken, portabella ravioli and walleye. Everyone was extremely happy. My favorites were the ribs and walleye -- oh, and the cookies (you need to get cookies). We sat outside at first but it got too buggy. I'd definitely recommend this place. And get drinks too -- they're huge!

I had whitefish on cedar plank and baked potato with sides and broccoli with Rodney Strong sauvignon blanc. The meal was excellent. I haven't had a great meal like that in months. The interior is like a big cabin with antlers and deer decorated around the walls. It offered a nice warm cozy feeling on a cold rainy early evening. Superb!!!

From reviews for this place, I was pretty excited to be going somewhere that put a special interest into the wilder side of meat. It is definitely a man palace. Very lodge-like with pool tables and an area with couches for people to relax. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the Wild Thang appetizer (venison sausage, rabbit ravioli, duck tenders, whitefish pate, and BBQ buffalo balls). For the most part, it was alright. It did not taste gamey at all (I think that's the desired effect when cooking these types of meat). So the appetizer was normal tasting, but I guess the fun is knowing that you're eating something different. The BBQ ribs were alright, nothing mind blowing. Overall, Deadwood has a few dishes that emphasizes different meats, but the rest of the menu is what you would expect. I'm indifferent to this place and would not come back unless someone else wanted to go.

Was not impressed!! Food and drinks are, overpriced!! Not much their thrilled me! The only (over priced food) that I liked, was the fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, fresh basil appetizer! Other than that, it was well, so to speak, so-so! Staff is quick and friendly! But, at the end of night. The money you send there, would make a good down payment, on your own log cabin place to hang out!

This place is my favorite spot in Northville. I'm not big into hunting although I respect the sport, but this place is done right. The inside reminds me of a upscale ski lodge. The food is amazing (all Michigan themed food and drinks) free pool, cozy outside dining area with a fireplace, great outside dining area which also has a fireplace, and my personal favorite, the "Bloody Moose" which is a bloody marry garnished with stuffed olives and Michigan deer venison!

Excellent meal. Buffalo burger was great. Buffaloaf is very good. The Venison Brioche is a stunning order. The cookies are excellent. Service is generally decent (they forgot our appetizer order once), but otherwise timely. Got a dog? They will provide you with a bone roasted for 7 hours to take home to your pup. How cool is that? Totally recommend.

This is a top notch place! They have a good draft beer selection and my wife loves the ruben sandwiches. I like the homemade? wild mushroom soup. Don't forget to order the cookies early because they take some time to cook (and cool so you don't burn your mouth). They have the best outdoor seating area around (partially enclosed with a fireplace).

This place has a very cool atmosphere and a really nice outdoor patio/deck area where we dined. We had the cheese dip topped with spicy venison dip to start, (not spicy, more like zesty) and the half rack/half bbq chicken combo. All very tasty, well prepared and large portions. We are definitely going back to try other dishes.

Restaurant and Atmosphere: The atmosphere is reflective of the restaurant's name, it has dead animals on the walls and ceilings. As you can imagine, the restaurant has a hunting and killing animals theme. The restaurant is very clean and service is very welcoming and nice. Food: - Sampler Platter (I don't remember the exact name): The food on the sampler was very different from most sampler platters (i.e. buffalo wings and potato skins). The platter had reindeer sausage (smoky and delicious), duck tenders (imagine a chicken tender but with duck, somewhat dry, but okay), buffalo meatballs (had a sweet flavor but you couldn't tell that it was buffalo), and white fish pate (very good on crackers). - Roadkill Plate: The Roadkill Plate includes quail, wild boar sausage, venison tenderloins, and homemade gravy. The quail was my favorite meat. It had a smoky flavor and wasnt overly gamey. I wish they had a plate of all quail. The wild boar sausage was good. The venison tenderloin was wrapped in bacon and tasty. The homemade gravy is awesome. You could put the gravy on anything in the restaurant and it would make it better. I can only imagine if they included the homemade gravy on french fries........

Love Deadwood! It reminds me of being at a hunting lodge. There are animal heads on the walls, a large natural fireplace, and antler chandeliers. The menu has a lot of meat/game items, all really good. I especially love the Campfire Coffee and Bloody Moose drinks. The patio is pretty fun in the summer.

Our goto restaurant. Outdoor seating most of the year using heaters. Excellent rustic food, e.g. ribs, bbq, hamburgers. Never been disappointed with any thing we have ordered.

I love this restaurant! Great food. Great service. Great casual atmosphere! This is a meat eaters paradise and a manly man type of joint - a girly girl didn't decorate Deadwood restaurant. If you're a veggies type of person, you'll be disappointed! But, if you love meat - you'll love this place. They even have free pool tables and an outside patio for a place to eat in the summer. Excellent - highly recommend! Try it !

Call ahead feature is a joke. Although we were told it would be a 25 minute wait, even with having called hours in advance, we waited an hour and a half for our table. I wouldn't wait that long for a table at the 21 Club!! AFTER the long wait the manager apologized with a complimentary round, but I'm afraid it was too late to mollify my hostile attitude. Dinner was okay if only adequately served ( cold potatoes from food sitting out too long in the kitchen) and high priced for a casual setting. Likely a better bar than a restaurant. Too bad they only have the knock-off Ameretto.

My investment counselor from Plymouth Township took me here. I guess this place is part of a local "chain" of wild game themed restaurants. The coffee was very good and my Pinot Noir was dirt cheap, however, there were hardly any vegetarian items on the menu and they were having a problem with slow moving flies in the dining room on this visit. I dunno, maybe it was my generic cologne from Walmart. I had fish which tasted either too gamey or just on the verge of going bad. This place seems to use alot of tin foil in their served entrees. I'm not a fan of aluminum. I would return but only on somebody else's dime.

Interesting interior with lots of dead wood. Beer selection is limited but compared to other places, priced very reasonably. Great burgers.

Great place year round! Love the atmosphere inside and out! There is an extensive menu, however, I only eat fish and LOVE the fish tacos! If they have it, I bring my dog home a bone! My daughter loves their spare ribs, too! Great place for family with billiards.

We went here about 5yrs a go and liked it so we thought we would give it a try again. Went on Saturday around 5pm. Service was slow and all food was cold. Tortilla chips were stale. It was over priced for the quality of food. We wont go here again.

Superb!!!

Try it !
