I know its not supposed to be a top of the line breakfast joint, but really, how does this place attract new patrons? The entryway was janky first off. I got the initial feeling that this place was definitely a hole in the wall. We were seated promptly; All the staff were friendly, I will say that. A lot of things about the Coachlight seemed cheap. The water cups were seemingly decades old plastic jobs with bite marks from thousands of previous customers, the menus were laminated card stock that needed an update that would improve them to 21st century standards, and the decor, oh the decor. I want to know what someone was thinking when they decorated this building. Not that I am an interior designer, but even I noticed that nothing seems to work together. The bathrooms. This could be a paragraph by itself. They were scary. Someone once told me that you could assess the cleanliness of an establishment by the cleanliness of their bathrooms. Well I hope that certainly isn't the case or I have no idea what they might have used to cook my food. I guess I should talk about my food and actual experience a bit too. I ordered the lumberjack meal for about ten bucks. It was good, everything was exactly what I would have expected. People in my group though seemed to all agree that the biscuits were way too dry. The service, also good. The waitress was pleasant and conversational. To recap, the food and service were pretty decent, but there was just something about the place that I wasn't a fan of. I'd go back with others, but I have many other places I'd suggest going before The Coachlight.

We showed up and were seated quickly. We both ordered a simple platter of eggs and toast. As we waited, the restaurant got busier and busier so we were understanding when the waitress kept coming to our table apologizing for the wait. She only refilled our coffee twice and when she did she only filled the cup halfway. Customers came in 45 minutes after us, got their food, ate it and left before we got our breakfast. The breakfast itself was ok. When the waitress brought out the bill we asked if we could be compensated somehow for having to wait two hours for our meal. The restaurant was basically empty at that point and everyone who came in at the same time as us was long gone. She said she would talk to the owner, came back and said that they would pay for our coffee (which was cold and watered down) and I asked to speak to the owner personally and she would not come to our table. We then got up and went to the register to talk to her and she was rude and uncooperative. She insisted that she would only pay for our coffee and continued to make excuses until we just agreed to pay and left. She tried to blame it on us by asking us if we made the waitress aware that our food was not out yet. I will never be eating there again, any place in Marquette would be a better breakfast than this place.

They were ok. I wasn't overly or under impressed. Typical breakfast. The service was good though, so if you want to get a fast breakfast they definitely can make that happen.

Absolutely dreadful. We were greeted by being told to look at the specials board if we wanted to know what the specials were. After we were sat, two children were running around the restaurant crying. The person who sat us rushed after them and grabbed one up in each arm. Bizarre. Come to find out it's the owner? Anyways, our order was never taken, we never received any drinks, and to top it all off, this was after 20 minutes of having been there. We had to walk out. Quite a bizarre experience.

Good breakfast, especially considering the price, with nice service at a hole-in-the wall restaurant. You need not be turned off by the decor. If I were a breakfast-eating guy, I'd go there more often.

Coffee is super watery, food is good, but it seems like every employee here is stressed out or in training. They make you both wait in line and check in, then they call groups out of order anyway. Again, The coffee really bothers me, it's so easy make good coffee. You can literally see through the entire pot. This place only has high volume because there are no other good breakfast places in Marquette. Both times my girlfriend has ordered their "amazing" cinnamon French toast. Both times they waited 25 minutes before telling us they were out of the batter. Extremely irritating.

Came here with my cousins during our cross country trip because it was the only restaurant open when we arrived in town. We got here at the an hour or so after it opened in the morning and was surprised at how many people were already there. The interior is cozy and small. Definitely had the diner feel to it and it's probably best not to go with a group larger than 4. We were seated immediately to the last open table which was great for us because we were hungry and not in the mood to wait (even though we wouldn't have had much of a choice since nothing else was opened this early in the morning). Service was very friendly but a little slow. Food was ok at best. I had their specialty breakfast meal and found it to be a little on the salty side. Their corned beef was good though. My cousin ordered that and I tried some. I kind of regret not getting the corned beef since that was definitely better than their specialty sausage breakfast meal. As I stated earlier, service was very friendly. We chatted up with the waitresses there asking about the area (since we were going to cliff dive later that day) and the locals chipped in on the conversation which felt real nice. Parking: Side lot that's shared with the next door bar Price: $7+ per person Wait: Longer than expected

No reviews yet? Well, it's time to fix that. Coachlight... is quite the experience indeed. I would say that they have great prices and the best hangover breakfast in all of Marquette! They close at 2pm, so they are pretty much only good for breakfast. The decor is pretty vintage (which is fine, since it's a small town). They have the best cinnamon french toast, it's almost a hidden gem on the menu - it's on there, but it's not easy to notice. Downside? If you go when all the other hungover college kids go, you'll wait a while for service - they don't seem to be able to handle large groups well. But if you manage to get there before 10am, you can usually get in and out in a timely fashion.

Worst experience I have had in a long time. Make sure you take cash because they pick and choose which credit cards they take. Which will leave you trying to find an ATM (oh wait...they seem to know where every ATM is in town!) oh and the food was bland

Best breakfast in town! No question about it! Look for the purple roof that says restaurant across the street from the ramada! Ask for the cinnamon roll French toast or the banana French toast!

They serve breakfast until close which is a win! If you get a waitress that has been there for more than two seconds your service will be splendid. The prices are super reasonable and your coffee cup is always full. This is the way a diner should be!
