So there was this time I went to Manistee. I have a friend who lives in the area who swears by this place. So when I was up to visit, she said "We HAVE to go to Stu's." So we did. #1: the bar is clean. It doesn't smell like stale beer. The bathroom is clean. It doesn't smell like pee and the toilet actually works. #2: the crowd is casual. There aren't crazy drunks stumbling into you. Jeans and t-shirts will work. #3: the owners, Jason and Jon, are super nice. They were in the bar the night we were there and they were welcoming and smiling. Jason is extremely customer oriented and will go above and beyond to make his customers happy. Jon is always up for a game of euchre if you need a fourth. #4: the ambiance. There are eight TVs in the bar, each either playing a sport or Keno. #5: the booze. Full bar which is very adequately priced. There is also a kitchen with appetizers and sandwiches. #6: they have free WiFi. #7: Keno. Enough said. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to go to Stu's while we were in town. I will be sure to visit every time I come back.

I didn't try the food but it smelled and looked great. They have a pool table, with some great locals. Great staff. Nice and cozy interior. Good beer selection.
Best chicken in Manistee! If you go on the weekend though, get the prime rib, big cuts!!
I love this place!! Can't wait for our next vacation to Manistee so I can come back! Cheap drinks and awesome food- The broccoli cheddar soup was the best I ever had.

As a visitor to Manistee, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the "House of Flavors." I went in on Friday night and partook of their all-you-can-eat fish fry for 8.99. The fish was crispy, flaky, and surprisingly good for the price. I was so impressed by the price and quality of the House's dinner offerings that I came back for breakfast the next morning. I ordered the "House Special", which came with two eggs, hash browns, and locally-baked banana bread. Not bad for $3.99! The "House of Flavors" also serves a wide assortment of ice cream, though I didn't try any myself. In terms of atmosphere, they've got a classic 1950's vibe going (complete with old vinyls plastering the ceiling). It's nothing fancy, but it's certainly classier than Denny's/IHOP/etc. If you're hankering for a great deal on some all-American cuisine (or if you just want breakfast for dinner), the "House of Flavors" is just what you're looking for.
Stuffed banana bread French toast was to "die for". Mediterranean egg stack was really good with a little more cheese and grilled onions. Hard to decide between breakfast or lunch. Saw some delicious looking hamburgers go by. Wanted to try the ice cream but too full. We MUST come back.
I highly recommend this little place. Awesome turkey dinner and ice cream. Can't go wrong with some comfort food.

We went in yesterday for lunch and we were seated by a sullen hostess. We sat unacknowledged for almost 15 minutes. We didn't receive a smile, a hello or a "will be with you in a minute". There was plenty of wait staff available based on the number of customers. I told someone behind the bar why we were leaving and she did not care. What a shame. Too bad the service is not as good as the food.
Food was fantastic, service was top notch, setting was beautiful!!
We went to eat at the Blue Fish during the restaurant's opening days. We came in with a party of five and were seated right away. Our server was already very familiar with the menu. It took a while to get our entrees but it was well worth the wait. My entire family was very impressed (and they are very hard to impress!). I can't wait to go back! It's awesome that Manistee finally has a locally owned restaurant that uses local ingredients. I'm excited to see what else this restaurant will do in the future.

Great little place in downtown Manistee! They have a good selection of drinks and baked (bagels, muffins, cheesecake, etc.) goods. They also offer a selection of sandwiches for lunch. They're presently offering a hot dog lunch two days a week (Fridays and Saturdays). The decor is nice - has the look of a modern coffee shop. Nice atmosphere - music playing in the background, very relaxing. There are lots of tables inside and they have some outside as well. Prices are good - standard for this type of shop. The staff is very friendly and patient. They serve you your order so you can sit and relax while you wait for it. Awesome place - I'll visit often!
I ordered a spinach parmesan bagel with cream cheese with some hesitation. I was happily surprised! The bagel tasted both like spinach and cheese, but not in a weird way. Yum yum. Downtown Manistee is so picturesque. I love how the window tables specifically say not to use your computers on them, for ideal people watching. The room was beautiful and definitely historic. There was a lot of street parking. I didn't try any of the drinks but if I do I'm headed to Goody's.
Hand a cold drink very yummy. In town to check out the small shops what a great find the cut lady in front of us ordered soup and it looked good too.

TJ's is a neat little place. My family and I ate a late lunch there. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We ordered some hot sandwiches, a salad, and the baguette appetizer. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The food won't fill you up as they seem to focus on quality rather than quantity. Nice beer selection on tap.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and unique delicious food for a VERY reasonable price. Also good drinks that were reasonably priced as well.
This used to be a favorite of ours but they got new owners who care more about themselves than their customers. They had a large party on a busy Friday night where they had the chef cook up special dishes for them backing up the kitchen for the rest of the restaurant. You would think they would be seeing what they could do to make it more enjoyable for their customers not themselves. They should visit the Glenwood or Shays to see how owners care

Enjoyed a delicious fried walleye dinner. Fairly quick service. Love the decor; looks like it was done fairly recently. But what cost the fifth star was that you couldn't find anything other than Fox News to show on the big screen? What better way to spoil one's appetite than watching talking hairpieces drool all over themselves. Blech.
The space feels like a lumberjack's lodge inside--pleasant wood walls and comfortable booths. This would be a pleasant place for larger groups, if you're not distracted by the big TV screens everywhere. It's thoughtful of the Bungalow to have a veggie burger option. Though comprised of a standard frozen "Gardenburger", it was served on a huge roll with french fries. The menu is quite varied, and all of the portions are large, but they seem to lean too much on Gordon Food Service products. The upright fridge that is visible in the back had part of a GFS chocolate sheet cake in it, along with pre-made iceberg lettuce salads. Given the price point of many of the Bungalow's dishes, it is a little disappointing to be served pre-made wholesale food.
Came in tonight for my boyfriends birthday. We had Kelly as a waitress and she was very attentive and great! Food came out so quick! And it was very very good! Very impressed.

This was the first restaurant I'd seen in a while when driving back from a vacation up north, so I stopped in for lunch. It's a pretty traditional diner with pretty traditional diner food. My sandwich and fries were fine, but be aware there are no frills when it comes to both the food and the interior decor. I certainly wouldn't avoid it if in the area, but this is no one for which you should go out of your way.
Decent breakfast in here. Our eggs were cooked to order and plenty of bacon, crispy but not burnt. Decent toast and hashbrowns too. It was very casual and the atmosphere was somewhat lacking but it was reasonable and the service was quite friendly and good. Dinners seemed to be homestyle type food, everything seemed to skew fried, breaded or fat laden so we skipped it. Definitely not a stop for health fanatics, not that we are but still.
Came in for breakfast while on vacation. Met my cousin and some of his co workers when they got off the night shift. I was told to order a "Big ass pancake" which I couldn't bring myself to do. But I did get the pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs. Had I read the reviews of the bacon I may have passed but it seems they learned or switched cooks because it was definitely not deep fried. It was really good and they are NOT afraid to put some on your plate. The scrambled eggs could have been taken off the heat a little sooner. Kinda overcooked and dry. The pancakes were pretty darn good. You might think it's just a pancake... even places that rhyme with Penny's can make them.. They're an art form. Anyone can make them but not everyone makes them well. The service is great and the staff is on their game.. It's a place with regulars and they all know each other but as a guest in town I was welcomed like a local. I'd recommend this place and when in Manistee I'll come back!!

My son got the kids meal. My son got a spork as the toy. Now you tell me..how many stars does a spork toy deserve? I traveled all day just to eat here. My chicken sandwich was heavenly. But..the spork was a dagger in my sons day. I mean..who the hell gives a spork out in their kids meal? My wife devoured her sammich in record time, then called the hogs in the parking lot. Have a nice day.
