Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

Had a great lunch with my family. Great food and service. Burger was great, the loaded fries were fantastic, the perch was awesome. Great friendly service and the patio was wonderful on this beautiful June day. I had the heifeweisen and weizenbock. Wife had the kölsch. All beers were very good. Will be back every summer when were camping. Even though it's a brewery it's very family friendly.

Excellent Food drink and service. A little noisy had the Cherry Bourbon Steak just right size cooked as requested. Wife had Tenderloin also excellent

Nice nitro stout. Better turkey, pear and goat panini. Our server, Meagan was a hoot. Keep away from the calamari, not worth it.

Great bar on the outskirts of downtown Ludington -- perhaps a bit of a surprise since it's off the beaten strip. I really liked their blueberry wheat beer -- ended up drinking two. Everyone's food was good, service was great, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the interior was cool. This will be the first place I stop for dinner when I'm back in Ludington. If it's as good as this time, I'll probably up the rating to 5-star. Beer was reasonably priced, the tasting sample flights were a good deal, and the food itself was a fair price for the area. Nothing really to complain about.

  • Jenn S.

SALTY PRETZEL! I loved it! It's typical brewery fare. But the stand outs are definitely the pretzel, salads and fried perch. The beer flights are really fun to be able to try everything. I would suggest doing a range from light to dark. I don't really have much else to say but go check it out!

Pros: beer sampler was on point, you get five x 5 oz beers for $7.50, it's a good way try out their offerings. My burger was juicy and I was pleased with how it tasted. My wife enjoyed her French dip sandwich. Dining room is decorated with the Reed's artwork. Cons: way too many tables stuffed into our area, granted we had a stroller but could barely get out to leave. Our server was not friendly, and seemed like she was rushing us to leave. They have outdoor seating but we were not offered those seats. There are two unisex bathrooms, awkwardly positioned in the very center next to the hostess station. Who designed that? Verdict: good food, average at best service, awkward layout. JBC could be the best place in town with a manager who was on top of things.

I wasn't impressed with either the beer or the vibe of this place. It's certainly very "port-like", but not in a way I can appreciate.

Very great service. Delicious brewed beers & great food. Sampler of beers 5 for $7. Blueberry beer & Scottish strong ale are amazing. Avocado hummus is delicious. Beer cheese soup & lobster mac & cheese are great. Great variety in menu burgers & veggie burgers. Great Hidden gem.

Initially I was going to ding this place for something not in their control. The locals there were not very friendly but that's no fault of the staff. My family and I were sitting outside under an umbrella that was shading 2 tables. Ours and the table next to us. These people must have felt we must not have needed it as much as them and came and took it without asking. Much to the protest of us and the table next to us. Sadly the establishment didn't have more umbrellas. Hopefully they fix that. But the food and the beer were just great. I got a flight of beer with my meal and every beer was solid to the core. The burger came medium, just as ordered and was great. I highly recommend the food and beer. They do sell growlers if you want to take some home. But I think they are missing the boat (so to speak, because of the badger) by not bottling. Taking a growler back to WI just wouldn't last, they could be selling 6 packs that would travel much better.

Good food and good beer. The service was a little slow. Seems to be a theme up here and in Traverse City. Too many people and not enough wait staff?

Great local pub! nice selection of drinks always on hand and very good food for "bar food". A definite stop when we are in town.

Go for the beer. Very good selection of their home brews. Loved the apricot beer, not overly sweet had a great flavor with a hint of apricot. Stick to the bar type food; burgers, chicken and such.

We got there to meet some friends who were about finished with their dinners. We ordered salads as appetizers and fish n chips for dinner. We were sitting at a high top with 4 other people so not a lot of space. They brought the fish plates within 60 seconds that they brought the salads and there wasn't even room to put them, not to mention they would get cold while we tried to eat our appetizer salads. They took them away and brought back when we finished the salads. They were the same plates and now the breading was soft/mushy. Very disappointing. Flavor was good. Salads were good. Cocktails were good. Service could use some training and polish. Besides the faux pas above, the waitress was noticeably fake and robotic, not personable. We would try it again we think though. Decent atmosphere.

Beer and burgers, a great combo done to almost perfection at Jamesport Brewing! Minor details would be they could have more standard seating, but beyond that a total home run. The beer is the real star, beer at under 5 bucks is steal, but even more so for craft beer, of which they have some of the best in western Michigan.

  • Erin Q.

Super cool find in Ludington! It's off of their main street, but completely within walking distance of many of the motels. We sat in the bar area and I was pleased to see they have a full bar since I'm not a huge beer drinker. My friend wanted to order one of the two seasonal beers, but they were out. We ordered the perch appetizer, which was delicious, and the calamari. The calamari came with a cocktail sauce and could have used some more flavor, either in the breading of choice of sauce. I opted for the perch dinner and was very pleased. Perfectly breaded and fried perch and I am always happy when malt vinegar is available for my fries. My friend and I were absolutely freezing and the waitress was nice enough to turn down the air, even though our husbands were fine. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

Good food & good beer. Not very busy. Was hoping to get a brewery tour however brew guy was said to be busy waiting tables of this nearly empty place. Unfortunately he was rather ornery. We did not leave feeling like valued customers.

  • Eric S.

We love this place. Parents with 4 kids. We stop here whenever we can. Food is great beer is great, atmosphere is friendly, who could ask for more. Fish and Chips and Cheddar ale soups are family favorites. Kids menu has choices - and not just the regular stuff.

  • Thomas C.

Great looking bar and a nice outside deck. They brew their own, and those are good, not great. Nice draft beer list beyond the ones brewed in house. Food was fine. 3 stars just suggests the place is fine, average - nothing noteworthy.

  • Julie R.

Had the Southwestern & Caesar salads with chicken. Both were good but still missing the Asian chicken salad they took of the menu in the Spring. Really enjoyed the VanderMill Blue Gold & the Jamesport Hefeweizen. Great service & atmosphere.

  • Rebecca L.

One of my favorites in town! It has some really delicious food and a fun atmosphere. There's a good selection of their own beers - made right in the basement. If you ask for a tour, you just might get one (if the brewmaster is in). He's very knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge with others. The menu selection is great. I love their wraps which are available only for lunch. The grill is too busy at dinner time to accommodate making wraps (was told this from a server) but it is a great spot for lunch or dinner. Favorite appetizers: spinach dip, nachos Favorite entrees: cherry pecan chicken wrap (lunch), perch, pretzel crusted white fish I also love their blueberry wheat and apricot wheat beers. There can be a bit of a wait at times but there is a fair amount of seating the bar area. Can be loud. They have a nice deck out back with seating as well.

Been a regular stop every time we come up to our lake house. Probably one of the best places in Ludington. very warm bar area and also a fine dining area depending on what you are looking foe. Food has always been great whether it's just a burger your looking for or a full meal. Their appitizers are amazing especially the onion loaf stuffed with crab. If your a micro brew beer fan, they have a great selection. Special thanks to Jason for making it a great experience evertime were there. Good customer service is the key and the staff at Jamesport has going !!!

  • Michelle S.

The food was just ok. May have been because of the crapy service we had today. Went in before the lunch crowd and then was promptly ignored by our server. When lunch came out my husband and son got there's. although it wasn't hot, well the hot food wasn't but the cold slaw was. They messed up the fries I ordered with my food and when I got my plate 5 min later the fish was warm not hot. And it was so loud in there you couldn't hear yourself think let alone the people at your table.

We stopped at Jamesport Brewing Company after a long day at the beach. The beer was just what the doctor prescribed for my killer sunburn. OK, maybe it was self medication. You caught me. The food looked great, but we had already eaten plenty before coming here. I'd like to try some items off of their menu the next time we're in town. I ordered a pint of the Apricot Wheat Beer and immediately regretted my decision - ONLY because I noticed they offer beer flights and I would have loved to have tried more styles. But my disappointment was soon remedied by the sweet Apricot Wheat Beer. I really wanted to order another round, but I just couldn't fit anything more in my stomach after the aforementioned food binge and one beer. $10 for 2 glasses of locally brewed beer! Get on it!

    (5)
  • Bella M.

Not bad, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the perch sandwich and fries were pretty good. I tried a few of the beers and thought they were a little weak in the flavor department but I would certainly go back. The staff was really friendly and probably a good option for the area.

    (3)
  • Sarah G.

Beer is good, food was good, but the service was very unfriendly. I was told to "use my eyes" because the wraps are only available at lunch... really, maybe you could find a nicer way to say that?

  • Brynn M.

Great little spot! Our waiter was wonderful - he recommended great beers for our taste and also other area microbrews to check out. And the crabby rings were AMAZING! We'll definitely come back the next time we're in Ludington.

    (5)
  • Chelsea L.

Nice variety on the menu. The cherry-bourbon steak was fantastic - tender, juicy, flavorful. Really enjoyable. We both had the house cider which was equally good - just a little bite, fruity, and stronger than it lets on (it's a good thing we walked from our hotel, let's just put it that way.)

  • John K.

I've been here twice, and the food and beer have been outstanding both times. I love the atmosphere and I'm so happy Ludington has a brewery making great products. The nitro stout is sooo good. The only reason I'm taking a star off is because on out first visit we were seated and then waited about 40 minutes and watched other parties get their orders in and brought out before we could finally grab a waitress and get helped. Second time around service was prompt and professional.

  • Robert W.

Saturday afternoon, waited 5 minutes up front, decided to seat ourselves in the bar area. Was told to go back to the front to get on a waiting list in this 3/4 empty resturant. Was then whined at by the hostess stating "its not my fault". The beer better be great because the attitude and the service sucked. The only place I wanted to go to try their beer but left and spent $ elsewhere. Can't imagine what would happen if it were busy! Had great service down the street where we were greated within 15 seconds of beinng in the door (and awesome Dark Horse IPA on tap)!

We're overnight in Ludington waiting to catch the ferry early tomorrow. Looking for a place to have a pub-type meal close to our motel, we happened on Jamesport. Friday night, full house, about a twenty minute wait, but worth it! Our server was very attentive even though we were just having beers, two bowls of German chowder and splitting a turkey/goat cheese/pear panini. We had no complaints about the service even though she was very busy. Food: German chowder (creamy base, potatoes, sausage) was good with a hint of vinegar and maybe caraway. The panini was great with the goat cheese and pear stealing the show from the turkey! And large enough to completely fill us both up. Fries were good also. The Kolsh beer was OK. Also, live entertainment by a good guitar/keyboard duo performing classic Van Morrison, Billy Joel, Dylan and so on. There's a reason (or several) that this joint was packed!

  • Lisa C.

We absolutely love the Jamesport! Every time we are in Ludington we stop in for some great craft beer and the fish and chips. The plates are so generous that you can split the dinner (or take home what's left for a late night snack!) Friendly, attentive hostess and wait staff. Wonderful!

  • Max W.

Had two very good experiences here. The staff is courteous, prompt, and attentive. The beer selection is very good, and their house beers are excellent. We had the pecan crusted perch and cherry bourbon burger which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The second time we had the perch sandwich and mustard herb crusted salmon sandwich with the same result. Definitely will be back when I'm next I'm the area.

  • Lia V.

This place is pretty good. The beer is great. The food is good. The service is... hit or miss? Actually the last time I went I was laughing the whole time because our server had this HUGE fake smile plastered to her face and it reminded me of that girl in the movie Waiting when she's super happy at the table then walks away and starts yelling in the kitchen. Hahaha. Ohhhh I remember being a server... it happens. I got a soup of sorts which was really good though I can't remember what it was. Lots of tables - good amount of space in the bar. Again... great beer.

Based on the fish and chips - and super sweet staff - it's great oasis in Ludington - and good brew.

  • Sam K.

Jamesport Brewery is easily my favorite place to eat in the Ludington area! I would really only suggest the restaurant to someone who enjoys a nice, bar atmosphere. The drink menu is pretty expansive - they have a full bar plus about ten or twelve beers brewed by Jamesport. I highly recommend the apricot wheat beer, which was suggested to us by our great waitress! Speaking of which, our waitress did a fantastic job. My family and I agreed that she was attentive without being overbearing. We received our appetizers and meals in a timely manner and had zero complaints about the food! Make your way to the Jamesport Brewery, you'll be happy you did!

  • S S.

Jamesport is just kinda good. The beer is kinda good. The food is kinda good. The service is kinda good. This is based on my patronage since the place opened and having been here 30 times. My favorites are the Kolsh, the Scottish strong, and fish and chips. The salads are also good. Kind of pricey, food-wise

Beach towns are known for small, independent bars, grills, and recently breweries that have excellent food and charm. Jamesport Brewing Company offers all of this and more. Flying a little under the radar in Michigan's craft brewery scene, this local gem offers great beers, excellent food, and a great setting overlooking the harbor in Ludington. Delicious perch at a reasonable price.

  • Christian B.

Good pub fare food and drink. Tried a sampler of the house draughts as well as a pint of the house hefeweizen; it was all fine, but none of it remarkable. The food was similar: Burgers, pizzas, all the standards --good portions at fair prices. Service was good too. The outdoor patio offers nice seating for a summer evening. Fine place to grab dinner while in Luddington.

Cool atmosphere but horrible service. Go down the street for better service and a more laid back crowd.

I was pleasantly surprised by Jamesport Brewing Company. The IPA I had was quite good and the perch sandwich was excellent. Its whole wheat bun was very fresh and tasty, the lettuce was not iceberg, and while the fish was fried, it wasn't oozing with grease. Service was also very efficient and friendly. My only (very minor) criticism is I found the main dining room to be quite sterile. The tables and carpet gave off a hospital cafeteria vibe. Thankfully the food and employees totally killed it off.

This place was my favorite part of my trip to Ludington, MI Brew pubs tend to have excellent food...this place, among the BEST!!! The service was excellent...and did I mention the food? Yes....excellent. For an appetizer we had the Paesano Bread ... whoa! Yum!!! This was awesome, so was the marinara sauce that came with it for dipping. For dinner I had the Turkey & Goat Cheese sandwich. One word = AMAZING!!! I was a little weirded out about the sliced pear on the sandwich...I was about to pick it off, like fruit? In a sandwich??? I figured it had to be there for a reason so I left it in and it was oh soooooo good!!! To wash the meal down I had a Hefeweizen (one of my faves) that too....was also good! If you're visiting the area, most definitely stop in for a meal, you will not be disappointed!

Traveled up from Illinois to camp at the state park and numerous campers recommended James Port Brewery. I grabbed a spicy chicken wrap and my wife had a fish n chips meal. We finished off the finner w it an ice cream sundae..error chocolate mousse cake. Jeannett was a fantastic server by being prompt, attentive, friendly and cute as a button. Will come back next year for vacation! :)

Went here expecting great food. What I received was an overpriced tough Beef Tenderloin with a standard baked potato (only with butter) and a half cob of corn for $20. My spouse ordered French Dip with Au Jus and his food was tasty. He enjoyed the beer selection. However, I must also say that the service was terrible! The server returned to our table numerous times before she actually asked if we were ready to order our entree. I was seriously about to walk out of the restaurant since it was a good 20 minutes before we finally ordered and trust me it was not because we were not ready. She greeted us and asked about drinks, then left, she brought sample of beer for spouse, left, returned and asked if we wanted appetizers, we said no, she left to obtain full beer but didn't return in any timely manner, in fact she could be seen waiting on other table nearby refilling glasses and chatting. She returned 5-10 minutes later with beer and FINALLY asked if we were ready to order, UGH YEAH! We were ready to order when you came back with beer sample 2-3 visits earlier! When it was time to get the bill, we had our card out and ready to hand over because we didn't want her disappearing for another 5-10 minutes! She said take your time looking over bill, NO THANKS! The food and service ruined this spot for me, I would not return and can certainly spend my money better elsewhere in the city. Very disappointed, I wanted to like this place as the reviewers previously were either great or bad! The servers need some lessons on customer service and efficiency. There was even another family next to ours mentioning something about the service as well, they had a different server even and they appeared frustrate with service. Not worth my money or time.

Stopped in for a bite and a bit of football after taking the SS Badger from Manitowoc. What a nice surprise, the place is clean with an eclectic chicness about it. I'd have to say that if it were in my neighborhood, I would definitely hang out here. The food was exceptional. I had the house burger, which was excellent (a bit overdone for medium but really didn't ruin it for me). The BBQ sauce is excellent and flavorful (as a side for the fries) I also tried a side of the bourbon cherry sauce, which was milder than expected but good none the less. Girlfriend had the salad and thought it was good, fresh and really liked the candied pecans that topped it off. Staff was friendly and attentive. Had a flight of 5 of the brewed in house beers. All were of excellent quality, even the styles that I am not partial to. I especially enjoyed the IPA and the E.S.B.. In hindsight, I would have brought a growler along to enjoy some later. Stop in, it won't disappoint.

Went in on Saturday night for the first time for a beer with my girlfriend. The beer was completely flat. The bartender set two beers in front of us that immediately had no head and he was just fine with that.

Good little brewery in Ludington. The food was ok.....service is not ok. Waitress never mentioned a special, never refilled my drink, and never gave me an opportunity to order dessert. I had Daniell so maybe this was the issue? I heard another waitress offer the table next to me everything. I wanted dessert, a refill, and the special sounded good. From the feeling I get, I don't believe they want to waste time with customers sitting alone in the dining room. I'm sure my experience would have been much better in the bar area but I will never know. I'm sure the bar seem in the summer is popular here. This review is strictly based on a Tuesday night 7pm dinner and not the overall bar scene. I hope the service improves.

I am always pleased w the variety of food, presentation and of course the excellent beers brewed there. I enjoyed the mini deserts. It's cool my hometown brewery can holds it's own w Bells or Founders. The staff is very professional & attentive. The atmosphere is great,

I figured that this was the place to eat by the number of people and the location. I ordered the fried calamari and a Cajun chicken sandwich. The calamari was grossly undercooked to the point of being hazardous to eat. The server apologized and returned it to the kitchen. I am sure I got the F.U. from the cook, because when the second order arrived it was like eating cinders. Ate there July 2013

The beer at Jamesport makes up for the crappy service anyday. On my latest visit to Ludington I went to Jamesport 2 nights for dinner. The first night the service was crappy, then second was horrible. We asked to be seated by the bar to watch the game. The hostess told us to there was no room at the bar and no tables to see a television. Then she sat us at a table with a view of a television and several tables at the bar sat empty during our entire visit. Then second night, we got sat and waited and waited and waited for a server. Then a bar back with a pad of paper came over to take our order. I ordered a beer sample of all the beers they had on tap. Why not? The list of beers the bar back kid wrote down were not in the correct order. If you work at a brewery son, you should know a porter is dark brown and a hefeweizen is yellow. Then he took our order and we waited a while more for our food. When a random other person delivered our food, I realized I had been given the wrong sandwich. Too bad no one was around to complain to. Plus by then, my beers were gone and I needed the nutrients to soak up the beer. In the end, the beers were still tasty and the food was alright. The crabby onion app is amazing. Jumbo Onion rings served in a stack with gingered lump crab meat and bleu cheese dressing. Yum. The blueberry wheat beer is the best wheat I've ever had.

Cool place, the service was a bit lacking and it wasn't the cleanest place I have ever been to, but the menu was ok and it's always great t check out a local brewery.

This might be slightly biased, since my wife and I just hiked out of Nordhouse Wilderness with only eating granola that morning. Side note ( If your ever willing to hike in 2 miles to have your own campsite on the dunes of Lake Michigan do not pass this place up. Primitive private camping and incredible sunsets! So the food was incredibly delicious, with the beers being as good as their food. The IPA was nicely hopped with good bitterness, but the Strong Scottish Ale was by far my favorite. Malty and slightly smokey with a good balance of sweetness. My wife really liked the nitro Dry Stout. I encourage getting a flight ( 5 samples of beer of your choosing) because there is a good variety of styles on tap. I ordered the Jamesport BBQ Burger and thought it was of the better burgers I've had in quite sometime. The local bun and onion rings made this burger stand out from others I have had. House made Stout BBQ sauce was really good as well. My wife really enjoyed the Perch Sandwich, fresh and light. Fries were fair, nothing special. Cool old building in the heart of Ludington. Service was good with plenty of seating available even though it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. Worth the stop for those who are looking for great beers and stellar food!

Jamesport came highly recommended by Yelp so we gave it a shot. I must say, I wasn't disappointed one bit. We called ahead of time and was told the wait time, which allowed us to set a reservation. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and a server came and took drink orders. It was nice to ask the server about beer choices, they were well informed about the various flavors. After our order, food arrived within 10 minutes, which is usually unheard of on a busy evening. The fries were amazing! I got the BBQ pulled pork which was near perfect and my wife ordered a salad which she enjoyed. Overall, an excellent experience that I will remember next time I'm in the area.

This is a pretty solid choice if you are passing through to catch the Badger as we were on three separate occasions over the past four years. The food has been decent every time. There was always a wait to get in so that says something right there. I would definitely go back again.

Nice large deck area out back. Local micobrews with good food. I had the Roast Beef sandwich and a salad made with primarily iceberg lettuce, and assorted veggies. My wife had the Black bean burger with guacamole, romain lettuce, and fries. The food was fantastic and fresh. My salad could have used some romaine lettuce, but the overall meal was delicious. They have a good selection of beers on tap, but domestic macro brews are only in the bottle. My wife had the microbrew and was very pleased, while I had a domestic bottle of beer. This was our second time at this place, and we will be back.

I'm giving this 3 stars, but it's a very weak 3. The in-house beer is excellent. I am a brewer, and the dry stout was excellent. The Old Scottish Ale is possibly my favorite of this style I've ever tasted. 5 stars on the beer. The service was good. We had some issues with food, and a diner with rather inconvenient dietary restrictions. Our server handled these situations with a professional lack of fuss that earns the third star. Sadly, the food was disappointing. Two of us ordered steaks, medium done. Both arrived undercooked. The cuts were of poor quality. I had ordered a Cajun-style steak with an IPA marinade, which I ordered because I was interested to see how this assertive beer style would play in a marinade. There was a mild burn and not much other flavor. My chocolate mousse cake seemed to have been made with pre-made chocolate pudding.. My baked potato was gluey. Everything arrived at best tepid. On the strength of the service and beer, I'm willing to allow for a three-star rating. I'd suggest that folk come for appetizers and a drink, and give the main courses and desserts a miss.

In the off chance you find yourself in Ludington, MI, this spot is solid for a good beer selection and a pretty decent menu. If the weather is good, try to get a spot on the back porch.

1 because of horrible customer service! Family and I went on Columbus Day weekend looking forward to only eating and drinking at Jamesport brewing. Walked through the doors to an empty host stand and waited 5 minutes so I assumed we were to seat ourselves so walked to the virtually empty bar room and found ourselves a table. We were waiting at a an uncleaned table for about 10 minutes when we overheard the manager walk up to the waitress and scream at her "I don't care what you do get them out of here. Make them move." The waitress came to us and told us we should have checked in at the hostess stand. When we replied we waited at the host stand for 5 minutes and saw waiters and waitresses just standing around by the kitchen making eye contact but not inviting us to a table we assumed we were to seat ourselves. the Hostess, and I use the term loosely, approached us and was absolutely hostile claiming we should have signed in and that the restaurant was full with reservations, when in all actuality that may have been true but at the time it was completely empty except for three or four tables. The hostess was indignant when we said all we wanted to do on our whole vacation was come to this place and eat and drink and replied that we should have checked in with her it wasn't her fault and basically blew us off. At one point she even stated that it wasn't her problem that we wanted to eat there and had to wait. It was a horrifying experience. I've been in the customer service industry for years and I would never ever darken the door of the Jamesport bring company again. Good food or good beer or not. It's not going to happen and I can guarantee a lot of people that go to Ludington from my neck of the woods are going to hear about this. We're going to recommend they head down the street to Sportsmans, the mitten and Michaels. All of which we had phenomenal customer and product experiences at.

By saying it was best place in town in a town like Ludington wouldn't do it justice. We really went there for the beer, I'm kind of a beer geek and plan my trips around going to breweries. All of the beer was great some better than others, but hey where else can you get a good Altbier. For starters we had the crabby onion, which I agree is a little much, a lot of crab and the blue cheese dressing was strong. For lunch I had the turkey and goat cheese sandwich, very good. Just know that the sweet habanero sauce was dripping all over the place, a very sticky sandwich. My wife had the beer cheese soup served in a bread bowl which she enjoyed very much. I would recommend this place for beer and food, just don't get the blueberry beer and an IPA like some of the other reviewers, try something new.

After two hour wait for a table, we walked away from restaurant. When we arrived we were told it would be 1 hour wait. After 1 hour we were told would be another hour even though there were open tables. Neither the hostess nor manager seemed interested in our business. We left and went to more customer friendly business down the road. Very disappointed.

Jamesport Brewing Company offers visitors to Ludington above average dining with an outstanding array of libations. Most of the time dining is outstanding, but inconsistency in the kitchen holds JBC back. Try the cheese soup, outstanding all of the time. Perch dinner or fish and chips is also highly recommended. If you are a summertime visitor, try the deck if you don't mind the plastic chairs. However, in the summer you should expect a wait at this popular stop.

I was told by the check in girl at the Holiday Inn Express that this is Ludington's best restaurant. They have a decent menu selection and the food was good. The Alt microbrew was fantastic. Service was a bit slow but not terrible.

Situated in a historic building just south of downtown Ludington Michigan, Jamesport Brewing is a great place to catch a beer and a sandwich. We've been there several times while visiting Ludington, and have had great experiences each time. In our latest visit, we stopped in around 5PM on a Friday in early August, and were seated right away on the shaded deck out back. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the beer was tasty and cold - I opted for the ESB and was not disappointed. They even offer a great kids menu, which any parent can appreciate. My only (minor) gripe would be that Jamesport was out of a couple beers at the time, but this is not unusual for brewpubs - and besides, there were plenty of other great brews available. My advice would be to try the IPA - it's superb.

We just finished a lunch with a Junior Varsity Hockey team. Everyone I asked of our group of almost 30 people was very satisfied with the quality of the food. The true "Beer Advocates" I surveyed were also pleased with the choices they made. For the size of our group, the service was acceptable. If I were in the area again, I would stope here for a brew and bite to eat.

We were extremely happy to have found this gem in Ludington, Mi. The craft beers were excellent (I preferred the darker variety myself). The special for dinner was an Oktoberfest stuffed pork chop with German potato salad. I recommend this stop to anyone planning on taking the ferry from Wisconsin to Michigan or vise-versa. Enjoy!

After a day of adventurous road tripping we ended up in Ludington and this was one of the more well reviewed places on Yelp. We were not disappointed. We both had fish and the portion for the fish and chips was HUGE! The decor was great with canoes and other nice up-north touches. My boyfriend enjoyed the IPA he tried too.

BAD ASS! Service was slow to start, but the cheese bread app (paesano I believe) was awesome. The service was great, the Jamesport bacon cheddar burger was the best burger I've ever had! The portabello on top was pristine, and I added the Jamesport stout BBQ sauce ( which was so good I could drink it!). Definitely 5 stars and a must if you are near the coast in Michigan. I'll drive up here from Georgia once a year for the burger and beer alone! Oh, and the blue berry beer was awesome.

We came here for the libations which are stellar. We always stop in when taking the ferry home. Beer is great at big city standards. Did not end up eating here as the "force" sensed this is a brewery, not a cheferie!!! But staff and liquids ....marvelous!!! Next time will try it!

Nice setting, interior, comfortable seating; it's an attractive place Helpful server. We got ordinary stuff - fish and chips and a perch sandwich. The perch sandwich was good and the fish and chips were fishy and chippy. The decaf coffee was weak. Neither of us drink, so no beer. 3 or 4 stars? Hard to say, but what with the bland coffee, I'm going with three.

well as I have said in the past ! A great brewing business must have two things . 1) great brew ! 2) a great burger! Jamesport only has 1 . Great brew my wife and I fell in love with their ESP and IPA . Both are awared winners . and they have fantastic loaded cheese fies. fresh made with bacon and sharp chedder cheese . but they failed with their mushroom ,Bacon, cheese burger on a onion bun. they tried to pass off as a burger.IT tasted like the burger meat was breakfast sausauge full of grease. after a few bites I could not bring my self to eat any more. My wife ordered a brew burger. she took one bite and refused to eat any more . she stated that it tasted like raw fennel. At least they took the burgers off our bill. It's really sad because their beer is so good. we have been to to a few dozen breweries and this by far has the worst bar food. to date.

We had a very nice meal here on 09/20/09. Portions of our perch dinner were inline with the cost of the meal and the beer choices were superb! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the beer and offered us tastes of two of our choices. Both were excellent (Strong & Dunkelwiezen). We went with the Dunkelwiezen and were very pleased. The atmosphere was very pleasant; though we were not able to be seated outside because it was full. We love to explore breweries around the State of Michigan and thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and would definitely return when in the area again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

The beers are darn good, in fact awesome. Great selection and truly top-notch. Enjoyed the Altbier particularly. The food was okay. Had the Crabby Onion---a bit much---deep fried onion rings laden with crab and blue cheese dressing---not too subtle. My side salad was about as interesting as a salad at Big Boy. My entree was the Shrimp and Scallop Au Gratin casserole. It was quite tasty but there was more potatoes in it than seafood. Eliminate the potatoes, increase the seafood and charge a couple bucks more for something more satisfying. I found myself picking out all the potatoes. The birthday dessert was some sort of chocolate mouse cake that was far to sweet and, well, boring. Service was excellent. Our server was a newbie but did a great job. The space is nice but starting to get a little worn (I was last in here when it first opened 5-7 yrs ago?). Thank goodness for the beer!

The staff did a super job during our wedding reception! After planning our wedding out of town for over a year, everything went off without a hitch. The food (prime rib) was awesome, the cookies were great, and the beer, was, of course the main reason why we wanted our party there! I've been a Jamesport fan for a couple of years now, and I knew they would be great for our party. Julie (the general manager) was great to work with, although it seemed like my city-ness (if that's a thing) got a bit overwhelming for her. I am very go-go-go, and that sort of thing does not fly in Ludington. Our wedding was the same day as the high school prom (ew!), but even though the restaurant was totally full, the staff made sure everyone was eating, drinking, and being merry. It was great! Thanks again to the staff of Jamesport Brewing Company! See you soon!

It seems like the people who have been reviewing Jamesport wrote their reviews after indulging in a mug or two of their brews. This is likely a good spot to drop in for a beer, but I would not expect the food experience to be much above average. I ordered the lobster bake based upon the recommendation of the waitress who said it was her husband's favorite entree. I should have known better: the lobster meat flavor does not blend well with mac & cheese. Not a good choice - not sure what their chef was thinking when he decided to add that one to the menu. My wife had the sirloin steak which had nice flavor but a little on the tough side. The service was terrible. We waited a long time for our salads to appear - how long can it take to throw some house salad into a bowl and bring it out? The real kicker was not getting my ice water re-filled until I had already paid the bill and was ready to walk out the door in search of water! The waitress never took away the dirty salad bowls when she brought the entrees. Average food - lousy service - there are better restaurants in Ludington.

This place was a really nice surpirse. I was on a Michigan west coast beer and nonstop-birthday-fun trip with my wife, my wife's sister (birthday girl and lame) and her fiance (cool). We were on our second day of fun and had spent the day at Michigan's Adventure and then headed north. Ludington is a small town famous for its ferry to WI and firing librarians that write books. We wanted beer, food, and beer and this place had a brew pub. We had medium-low expectations and were just hoping for somedecent food and decent beer to help numb the sunburn. Holy cow this place was great. They had 10 or 12 beers on tap, every beer I tried was good. My wife had a blueberry beer. It tasted good, and those beers usually are crap. I think I had a kolsch, altbier, a scottish ale, and maybe another kolsch (not quite sure if thats what I had because I had been drinking). Soon-to-be-brother-in-law had a bunch of beers but the only one I can remember was a nitro stout that made out with my tastebuds. I don't remember what I had for dinner. I remember eating it all and then having some coffee and being very satisfied with the whole thing. Wait staff was awesome. Our waitress server person was a totally smokin' blonde girl, home for the summer from college. We asked her where a good spot was to hang out at the beach and drink more. She gave us the best directions for a nice secluded spot for drinking and boat light watching. But it was too damn cold to hang out so we went back to the motel and went to bed.

Good food, good beer, what else do you need? Oh wait, THE CRABBY ONION. You need it. You must order it. It is delicious. I could live on just beer and the crabby onion. Everything else I've ever eaten there is good, but the crabby onion (and the beer) is the reason my sister-in-law makes us go there as much as we can during out yearly vacation in Michigan. This place is tucked away off of the main drag in Ludington. But it is great, so go check it out. And there is an antique store next door ... check that out too.

Maybe we just walked in on an off day, but I wasn't impressed. I ordered the salmon (18.99) and my husband ordered the prime rib for just under twenty dollars. Imagine going to the grocery store, purchasing a salmon filet and cutting it into two inch strips. That's the serving portion for this dish. I enjoyed the glaze, the rice tasted very much like Uncle Ben's long grain wild rice, and I didn't care for the cabbage. In short, I left hungry. My husband's prime rib was ordered medium, but showed no signs of being pink anywhere. He wasn't sure if it was overcooked or wasn't fresh. The couple next to us sent a steak dinner back stating that it was cold. I guess it was still cold when it came back for the second time because they had it deleted from their bill by the manager. On the bright side, my hubby enjoyed the kolsch beer, so maybe stick to the beer and traditional bar fare for an enjoyable visit.

We love this place. Drop by every anniversary. It is just a comfortable environment. Smiling staff, great beer. I love the steak salad. I substitute several things and they have ne'er messed it up. Once my daughter did not touch her mac and cheese (picky little one) and they took it off the bill. We did not ask for that, we would have happily paid. Little things like that are what we love about this place. Great food with no pretense.

This is the best lunch and dinner spot in town! We were there for a wedding and had amazing tenderloin, scallops, grilled veggies, I actually ate myself out of my pants and had to run to Ravens down the street for newer fatter pants. The beers were all Great! got two sample flights then dove in head first. We had such an amazing Wedding we went back the next day! The staff was beyond fantastic and really really good looking and attentive. The next day it was regular menu... great bar food, but we just ate apetizers and had way WAY WAY too much beer again. A must stop in Luddington.

This is my fifth year in a row visiting Ludington for the 4th of July, and each year we've enjoyed the food and beer at Jamesport. The cheddar ale soup is a stand out - rich and flavorful. Burgers are a good bet and the wraps are yummy, too. We visited the brewery three times this past week and service was pretty consistently slow. The place would benefit from better training of its young staff. Still, overall a good place to grab lunch and a beer.

We had a very enjoyable experience at the Jamesport Brewing Company. We went during the Gus Macker tournament and thought OH NO, we're going to have to wait forever for a table or worse yet deal with many rowdy basketball players. Neither were true, probably because we went early trying to miss the tournament traffic. There were some larger groups who came in from the tournament but all in all didn't affect our dining experience at all except for a know-it-all boisterous father. Knuckle-head! Sad when your children behave better than you do. The service was outstanding, Kevin or maybe Kevo was our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. I told him what I wanted in my beer and he made several suggestions then asked if I would like a sample of those that he recommended. Ummm, Yea. While two were not to my taste, the third was right on, Altbier. I then strayed from the Altbier and went with the Scottish Ale, very good too. A darker full flavored beer with a higher alcohol content. Yum. We then ordered our appetizer, The Crabby Onion, onion rings stuffed with lump crab meat. Delicious. I Wouldn't have thought to put those two together but it was a hit at our table. Next was the main course. Perch and the new Ahi Tuna tower. The perch was outstanding and the Ahi was very good yet a tad overdone for this sushi aficionado. It was was still delicious and the portions for both were sizable. For dessert we had the Bananas Foster. This portion was plenty for two and again was a huge hit. Could have done without the raisins or almonds but that didn't affect one way or the other as we just moved them out of the way. Overall, we enjoyed the Jamesport Brewing Company very much and would gladly return on another trip to Ludington. Great service, delicious food and a great variety of beer. A winner in my book.

I agree completely with Jason. This place was a complete surprise. I ordered a blueberry beer and it was really good. Fruit beers are usually syrupy and gross. This was crisp and had a really nice blueberry flavor. My dinner was even better than the beer. I had a salad with beef tips. It was greens with blue cheese dressed with the beef and some of the au jus with caramelized onions. The lettuce was slightly wilted and it was amazing. I don't think I would ever order anything but that ever again. We sat in the window and the ambiance was alright but nothing too exciting. If i remember right the only decoration in the room besides the wooden bar were antique beer trays. It's on a side street in Ludington and therefore you don't get a nice lake view which would have made this place completely awesome.

We only get to Ludington maybe twice a year, but when we do we always eat at Jamesport. (Our first visit there was during a winter blizzard when there was absolutely nothing else open in town...that's how we discovered the place!) We enjoy their beer -- usually split a sampler between us, which is fun -- and also think their food is pretty good; several steps above the just-off-the-food-service-truck pub food we're used to in our own mid-Michigan community. We enjoy the calimari appetizer...the steak salad.....fish entrees. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is charming; I covet all that lovely old brickwork! And, of course, you have to try the beer -- definitely try a whole flight of their brews. I even liked the blueberry ale, and I normally don't care for fruity beers.

The reuben which I ordered was really good. The meat was lean and the bread was toasted just right. My husband had a blackened walleye sandwich which was so spicy that we could hardly eat it. We have had blackened dishes at other restaurants, but they have never been this spicy. The Early Summer Blue beer which I had was really good. There were a couple of blueberries floating in the beer. The beer which my husband ordered was also very good. If I were only rating this place based on the beer, I would have given this place 5 stars.

The beer was good, but that was about all that could be said for our meal. The food was ok, but overpriced for what it was. The outdoor seating was nice, and the wait staff was good. Nothing to write home about.

The only brewpub in Ludington. Pretty nice even by big city standards. Decent typical pub grub. Friendly service and clean rest rooms.
