How can not eat the hot rolls and butter that come to the table? I usually order the samething every time I go here, fried catfish. You get a couple fillets, fried to a golden color and fish doesn't have a fishy taste. On Wednesdays it's half of margaritas. I recommend getting the sangria margarita. It's so strong and tasty.

I would like to say we've never had a problem here, but that wouldn't be true. We've frequented this location numerous times for special occasions: birthdays, graduations, anniversaries. One time the service was a little shaky, but not bad enough to stop us from returning. We were there over the weekend and things were wonderful... except for the peanuts... there were bugs in the peanuts. At first it was easy to ignore because we kept our hands out of the peanut bucket, but when the bugs began to fall off the peanuts and on to the table there was no ignoring it. It makes you wonder what the bottom of the peanut barrel looks like. Sad to say we will not return ever again.

Always decent. Texas Roadhouse is your standard Midwest chain restaurant, but one where the wait staff and hosts/hostesses are always friendly, the food is always prepared how you ask for it to be prepared, the portions are large, and the atmosphere is upbeat. You can have a good time whether you bring your family or go with a group of friends for their giant margaritas. Not only is every experience there solid, but they also give back to the community by offering deals to support local sports teams. Swing by after you catch a movie or just because. * They don't take reservations, but they do have call-ahead seating so just call when you're on your way out the door!

This is a popular and busy place. Have been here twice and haven't had a bad meal here, but not a memorable one either. It's pretty much your mid-grade (being nice?) steakhouse chain. They did have a cheap, pretty large draft beer (Miller?) special during those couple of times for $1.99. You can't beat that even for a standard domestic. Like others have mentioned, the service is definitely friendly and attentive. I also really liked the house steak sauce, which they sell. I made a mental note to buy it if I ever rolled through again. My BF happens to love, love, LOVE this place. Like, probably more than he loves me. :-) He used to live nearby when he was single and ready to mingle (that I know of) and went there A LOT. He recently mentioned he would probably eat here everyday if he could. I don't quite see the allure, but will throw up an extra Yelp star in his honor anyhow. If only his dream would come true so I would only have to cook dinner on a recreational basis.

Come here with some coworkers one night. For a chain restaurant, this location is probably what their corporate office wants them all to be. We all had a Filet Mignon, each with varying done-ness. For me... knock off the horns, wipe it's (part under the tail) and put it on the plate. It was seared and seasoned perfect. Sweet potato with cinnamon butter. I couldn't stop eating the dinner roles...again with the cinnamon butter. The deep fried pickles were ordered and I actually enjoyed those as well. My dinner buddies all loved their selections. The waiter was very attentive and kept the glasses full and the food brought out hot...not after it was overcooked under a heating lamp waiting for delivery to the table. I left without a complaint.

They don't have amazing steaks - but they do have very good steaks for a good price, which is why i gave them a 5. Maybe something like ruth-chris has better steaks, but their steaks are 3-4x times the price which is why i've never tried them. I tried this place for the first time tonight and was very happy. Everything tasted good. The bread was good. The steamed vegetables were good. The steak fries were good. The steak was good. The ribs were good. The pulled pork was good. Everything was seasoned well and cooked well. My steak had very little fat or gristle. My friends rib - meat just fell off the bone and had a really good flavor, as did my steak. The service was really good too. We never had an empty glass. We had bread on the table as soon as we sat down and had a refill before we finished the first basked of bread. All in all, a really good steak house i would definitely go back to.

This place is amazing, the wait staff are always quick, friendly and they always bring their A-game. The food is always drool worthy when we come in, its fresh, hot and quickly arrives to your table. The atmosphere is laid back and fun for any occasion. They do a huge round of applause for the birthday person. Came here for our 4th wedding anniversary and they made it wonderful. Soon the manager will know us on sight by how much we go to him telling him how amazing this place is. If your looking for a place that fits a range of occasions THIS IS IT.

Service here was pretty good. I ordered my steak medium well, but when I cut into it, it was obviously well done. The waitress graciously took it back to the kitchen and had them redo it. A manager brought my new steak out, which was done correctly, and apologized for the inconvenience. My meal was pretty basic (steak, baked potato, side salad), but it was pretty good. I would go back.

Amazing service every time I have come for a meal. The staff is friendly and the food is always good. I love steak and they have a good menu and quality for the price you pay. Over all very satisfied.

Not a big fan. Mac and cheese was disgusting, steaks were over cooked and not the best quality. Hot bread was good. Very mediocre overall. Service on the day we went was very poor. We had a newbie that badly needed training.

If you want to meet your friends or celebrate a birthday, Texas Roadhouse is perfect for those, and many other occasions. I personally love their shrimp meal and the rolls-AMAZING! overall Texas Roadhouse is the best place in the Okemos area to hang out.

A solid 3.5-4 star steakhouse..in the affordable category.... and by this I mean its a get what you pay establishment kind of like what Red Lobster is to fish.. we were satified and may well go back someday. I had a tropical drink which was good. Then the house rolls were very good, lightly sweet. Caesar salad, pretty good though too much dressing. Finally my meal which was a combo plate of ribeye steak and ribs, baked potato. The ribs were quite good and tender. The ribeye didnt have very good grill marks and was alittle pale..and a bit thin..but was quite tender and good flavor. My companions had similar meals and similar impressions of the restaurant. Service was good both at bar and table. One big complaint we have is the noise level...just obnoxious. And they play the music so loud that is causes the diners to talk even louder...seriously bothered us.

I literally come here once a week with my fiancé. They have the BEST steaks, great service, friendly staff and not bad of a wait time. Especially when it's busy, they're awesome. I can tell they have great teamwork. The new call ahead is great too!

Food is always great, it's portioned well for the price and quality. The service is good, however they are always busy whenever I have visited. The drinks have been good so far, so good bartender!

I haven't been here in a couple years now, but I have been more active on Yelp and got an e-mail from them that reminded me of a terrible experience I had here. The last time I was here, circa 2010, there were maggots in the peanuts. Full-out, crawling around, last-thing-you-want-to-see-in-a-restaurant MAGGOTS. There is no excuse for that, even with the volume of peanuts they go through and how busy they always are. Things may have changed since then but I implore you if you go here to check your food carefully! Also I remember distinctly the manager only offered us a free appetizer and the last thing I wanted then was any of their food.

Holy crap, if you want some really good steak at a decent price, this is the place to go. They cut all their own steaks daily, and as any steak lover knows, what makes a steak good is the way it's cooked, what makes a steak great, is the way it's cut. I know that they actually cut their own steaks because I ordered a steak and was told that they were out of that cut and I could wait for them to cut more, but it might take a while. Very seriously good food here in general, but one of the best steak houses i've been to. The only way you'll get better steak, is if you want to pay $100 a plate.

Have only been here four times, once when they opened, the rest were for "lets go out for dinner" holidays. Glad they cleaned up the peanut shells. The staff is always a hoot, yet professional. The steak is always great... no sauce needed. That's about all.

They don't always get the desired temp and the steaks can vary but they aren't frozen. I always go for the 6 oz. sirloin, comes with choice of two sides and all the rolls you can eat for $8.99. Great deal eh? The waitstaff are always helpful and are typically pleasing to the eyes as well. Just call ahead if you plan to be there around 6pm...
