Capitol City Grille was fantastic. Staff was great. My server anticipated my every move...Cheryl was amazing. I am local and now that I know of the Gem inside the Radisson downtown I will be back!!!

Clean. Friendly staff. 10 min van drive to the airport. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Great running trail along the river which is right by the hotel.

Their restaurants name is, "Capitol City Grille" and it's located on the ground floor. The hotel connects with the Lansing Center convention space by enclosed, elevated walk way tube from the 2nd floor of the Radisson (signage isn't so good).

Updated review: I received an email from the Radisoon about my experience after completing a survey. They were very friendly and helpful and I am amazed at their response. If the customer service was reflected in the condition of the rooms, then the hotel would get much better.

I stayed here last night for a conference at the nearby Lansing center. I found the staff very attentive. I locked myself out of my room while placing room service tray in hallway, and the night maintenance man was on the elevator and he quickly let me back in. Valet parking is $16/day. I ordered an entree salad and an appetizer for my meal, and it was great. Food arrived in20 minutes. Free wifi is offered; it is incredibly slow as an FYI.

The hotel itself is beautiful, very well kept, and in a great centralized location within the city of Lansing. The room was very nice, very comfortable, and had a very nice view. The pool and jacuzzi were VERY nice and open late, which is key. Most hotels close their pool area at like 8pm, and the fact that this one is open until midnight is a very big advantage, because I can actually use it! But the biggest reason is the staff! Every staff member that I came into contact with was very friendly, and also very professional, more than in any other hotel I've ever stayed at in Lansing, especially Tyler at the front desk at check in! I will definitely be back!

I am completely floored by how poor a check-in experience we just had. I've stayed at this Radisson multiple times and have usually been impressed by how professional the check-in staff are, which made this all the more shocking. We were here for a wedding, and accompanied the bride (my sister-in-law) and groom back to the hotel to check in. They had checked in yesterday as part of the block of rooms, and were moved into a different room for the wedding night today, and they couldn't remember which room number they had been moved to. I have to imagine that guests forgetting their room number is a fairly common problem, but Tyler, who was "helping" us, instantaneously struck a very combative tone. I cannot imagine a better setup for absolutely home run service: bride and groom, exhausted and pleased at the end of their 20 hour whirlwind day, can't get to their room. So just come to their rescue! Instead, Tyler made it a bigger problem and treated them like a bunch of idiots. You know, the bride and groom? The reason we're all renting these rooms? He was sighing, taking a tone, saying that there were no rooms booked under their names, even though she had a confirmation number (AND had already checked into it earlier in the day!), using very confrontational language ("what HE said was...") as if trying to score points figuring out which one of us deserved the blame. The groom was trying to explain the layout of the rooms and Tyler switched between ignoring him or interrupting him. It was so bad I took a picture of him so I could get his name right later if I sent in feedback. Then he took a tone with my sister-in-law, while the groom went upstairs to look at the rooms and I couldn't let it go on--I jumped in and called him out on his tone, and that he was raising his voice, which he denied...and then 10 seconds later he was right back at it. I ended up starting to record the conversation because it was just...so...bad! I've experienced poor service before (who hasn't?), but I can't think of a single worse check-in experience than this one.

I really like this hotel as it's right in the middle of downtown/capitol Lansing. The rooms are really clean and they have HD televisions. The Sleep Number beds are way awesome! What I most enjoy is the complimentary water/coffee/lemonade they have near the elevators. In the mornings, they have granola bars and apples too. There is also a small gym and swimming pool/ hot tub in the premises. just make sure you got a high credit card limit because they "authorize" $50 a day on your card for incidental charges and stuff. They will eventually take it down, but it takes a while.

Normally don't write reviews, but this one person at the Radisson is very deserving of one. Went for a wedding. The carpet is awkward, but staff is impeccable. Particularly, Nina E. (couldn't get last name), was an amazing server. I don't think I've ever had service like she provided. She was friendly, animated, and kind. Nina went above and beyond her duties to provide for me and my significant other. I feel like her attitude and demeanor made it possible to relax and have a better time than I normally would have had. She not only made my SO's drinks, but also made sure he had plenty of water the whole time. Definitely appreciate her services and cannot express enough how amazing of a person and employee she is. Radisson def lucked out on this one.

Wireless is completely useless, not just bad - useless. Rooms are small, price is high, very expensive parking. First my room had a broken deck chair - I called & they replaced it. Then the smoke alarm started chirping - I called & they replaced it. Then there were light bulbs burned out in the two lamps - I called & they are still burned out. The staff is nice, but the property is simply dated & probably not going to get much attention until they start filling rooms. I think it's time for me to find another place to rest my head while in Lansing...

I've stayed here about 5 times in the past year and it has gone straight downhill. The service is friendly but slow, the hotel itself is WAY overpriced, and it's really not very nice at all. The rooms are SO LOUD - I never sleep when I am here. Plus, the food is absolutely terrible. It is pretty clean and well located, but I don't think that makes up for all the cons and I'll be staying somewhere else next time I'm in town.

if you can, stay elsewhere. Have you ever heard of a business hotel that DID NOT have a desk in the room? We had suite 1128....no desk. only one telephone. terribly slow 'net. A closet without a hanging bar. Absolutely NO place in the bathroom to hang towels, not a rack, not a towel bar, not even a hook. No make-up mirror. The fridge leaked all over the floor. While the staff were pleasant, no one did anything. So stay somewhere else. BLECH.

I'm kinda glad that I did not pay for the room and my job did. I loved the location, great spot for where I needed to be. Every thing was super close that when I got there I had the valet park my car and left it while I walked to where ever I needed to go. Free Wi-Fi was good, glad I had it because there was not much on TV. I'm not a big fan of the Sleep Number mattress, but I will say that mine worked however my co workers did not. I went to the hotel bar twice, once to sit and talk with people from around the Great Lakes and the other to have a double shot of Jack. That was my first and last shot of Jack at the hotel bar, just a little pricey for me. If I go back to this hotel it is for location only, or if my job pays for it again.

There were pros and cons to thi Radisson. Pros: quick friendly checkin and valet. Easy to get to room. Clean room. Comfy room and super nice sleep number bed. Free wireless internet. Cons: kinda loud. In the morning, I could hear the people in the next room, their actual conversation, etc. Also, I could constantly hear the chiming of the elevator, and I was not even really close to the elevator. Also, charge for parking was kinda annoying. Overall, this hotel was good for what I used it for. I wanted to be close to the State Bar, since I had a class there in the morning. I also got an amazing deal on the room via Priceline and for what I paid, it was a great deal. Prob would not stay here again.

The hotel is nice and in a great location. Plenty of places to walk to in downtown Lansing. The beds are "Sleep Number" which to my backside feels like an air mattress.

Radisson is generally a good name hotel, right? Well, I thought so until I came across this one. The one big issues was the lack of organization. On the first night of arrival I wanted to leave a key with the front desk to give to a late-arriving guest. The person took my information (room #, name of guest, etc.). I later get a call from my friend (guest) telling me that they will not give her the key because there is no record that one was left for her. She waited about an hour in the lobby (because I was not available to pick up the phone when she called me ten times) until I was able to call back. What's the point of asking for the info?! This should have never happened. To compensate for their mistake they offered us a free complimentary breakfast...well, I should rephrase, they offered the guest one BUT the wrong name was listed on the breakfast form - it was not even a name of any in our party! After my stay, I was not pleased with the service so I brought up my concerns with corporate Radisson who sent my concerns over to this hotel. My concern again was not addressed until the general manager got involved (this was almost a month after). The one positive of the hotel was the general manager quickly, and genuinely, addressed my concerns and rectified the situation.

I'm from the Lansing area and have attended professional conferences where food was served here. I will not partake of the food again. I will forgo the receptions and keynote addresses and just find my own food at the Nuthouse a block away or at one of the many eateries in downtown Lansing (which are unfortunately are mostly closed in the evening at this time). I'll be honest--the food is just icky, tasteless. For what conference planners pay (and pass the cost onto attendees), it should be much more tasty. Looks ok, just not good in taste. The staff is hit or miss as far as friendliness, but it seems like they could be more proactive with water & coffee refills. It's a shame because the Radisson has a good name and could be a shining star in Lansing, which is constantly trying to build itself as a destination. The restaurant (Capital City Grille???) in the hotel is marginally better, but overpriced in my opinion. I have not stayed in the hotel, but based on 2nd hand knowledge from professional associates, I would not recommend it. Stay in E. Lansing or Okemos or the Eastwood Town Center area for better chain hotels.

Free wireless internet. A very, very comfortable "Sleep Number" bed (See note, below) Clean, well appointed rooms. HVA: kind of a crap-shoot, but at least you could set it on Auto and choose the temperature. Water pressure: meh Hot water: variable Decent food, excellent bartenders (Hi, Vanessa!). In room coffee: sucked major ass Customer Service: Excellent (Note: Do not play with your Sleep Number bed when you've had 1 too many cocktails. At first, like many activities undertaken under the influence, it seems like fun but then it starts to make you feel dizzy)

Didn't stay here, just attended a wedding reception, but was totally grossed out. I understand that it's hard to prepare food for a large group, but this was a very small wedding (under 50 people) and the food was terrible. I'm not a picky eatter either! I love Taco Bell! But the food here was freezer burned, tough, and overall unapetizing. When I found a COCKROACH in the bathroom, it was all over. A cockroach?! In Michigan?! Gross. The other thing that bothered me was that the bartender couldn't wait to get out of there, and was really anxious to tell us all about it! She kept going on and on about how she "partied too much" that week and she just needed to go home and lay down. Seriously? You're working right now. Keep your mouth shut about your hangover! Overall the service was pretty bad. I never did get any coffee, and the last person at our table to be served didn't get their plate until the rest of us were half way done. I used to work as a banquet server, so I know there is a lot of effort and coordination in serving a meal to a large group, but some of their slip-ups were pretty inexcusable. I wouldn't recommend having a party here to my worst enemy.

Had a great night's sleep here and enjoyed the free wireless. The pool and hot tub were great too and very helpful after a day of walking around.

Stayed here for the MDA Meeting. Was disappointed in the extras offered by the hotel. From not getting a nice selection of tea in the room to the shampoos, etc. The hallway was very noisy in the morning and they did not have a do not disturb sign to hang out. The view was to a rooftop and just not nice. The curtains do not close at all so it was so light in our room. The staff at the check in was very friendly. We had lunch at the Capital Grill and that was as expected pricey but very good food.

Good: Hotel and pool friendly staff Bad: the tub would not drain when I took a shower and water filled up past my ankles scratchy sheets on the bed scratchy towels nothing nearby in terms of a convenience store like walgreens have to pay for parking in the lot across the street too expensive for a non-upgraded hotel with minimum features

I stayed at the Radisson during the week while in Lansing for work. The location was convenient, located in downtown/the capital area. The good: -The staff was wonderful. Every person I interacted with was polite and friendly. -The rooms were clean and comfortable. - Plenty of comfy, fluffy pillows. - The free wifi. Not only was it free, but it was easy to sign on and was actually high speed as advertised. The bad: - Parking. I was here during the week and the parking situation is terrible. The street is metered parking. There is a self park garage that is $10 for the day but $16 if you stay overnight. The hotel does valet for $20 a day which I find quite steep. - No fridge in the room. The mattress is adjustable, and while you can adjust to more or less firm. I think that it ended up being less comfortable as a result.

When we arrived at the hotel, we parked around the block on the street. You don't have to pay the meters on the weekend. There is a structure next door for $6 or you can valet at the hotel for $15 (which I think is a little steep when you're already paying $150 for one night). The location is nice and was convenient as we were in town to go to a show that night at The Loft which was walking distance. The front desk staff that we spoke to were pleasant and friendly and the lobby was clean and modern looking. Our room was ready, so we went up to the 9th floor right away to get settled in. Our room had one king bed with LOTS of pillows as well as a large desk, small sofa, and flat screen tv. Everything looked clean and the room had no smell - which is something I think is very important. Before heading out for the evening we stopped at the front desk to get some recommendations for somewhere to eat and get a drink in the neighborhood, and they were very helpful. When we returned to the hotel, I was excited to test out the sleep number bed. It was awesome. My boyfriend likes a firm mattress and I like it super soft. We both set our sides to our liking and drifted off into sleepland. Until... we were both startled awake by the awful loud thud of the heater turning on. It was so noisy and rattling so loudly, we weren't even sure at first what it was. I don't know if all the rooms were like this or if we just got a dud, but this happened about once every 30/45 minutes throughout the whole night. I'm normally a pretty deep sleeper, but every time, I was woken up. In the morning, our receipt was left under the door. The room was charged to the credit card on file and we were able to just leave the keys and go. I had intended to tell the front desk about the clunking heater unit so they could have maintenance check it out but quite frankly, I was too exhausted to deal with it. Apart from not getting a great nights sleep the hotel was nice and I would stay their again if I needed a room in Lansing.
