Friends suggested this gem of restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the food the Pa Thai with shrimp was delicious and served beautifully. The location is surprising, but don't let that stop you . This is the real thing.

Only been once but everyone had great food and prices were great. Don't pass this place by just b/c of it's strip-mall south cedar location.

Service is slow, limited seating, no chicken fingers. If you're a hipster looking for a cool place to take your crying baby, stay away. For the rest of us though, this place is amazing. Every single dish is astonishing. Service is slow becuase it's just one family, and that level of care shows in the food. Water is bottled only, but you're getting a Thai ice tea or a coffee if you're smart. Hidden in a strip mall, this is a total gem for the area. This is the sort of place foodies have been begging for. Hopefully, this is the future of eating in America. The salads are phenomenal. Order a salad to open, and follow that with a soup or a Thai noodle dish. Wash it down with a Thai ice tea. Heat level here is a step down, so a Medium here is about what you'd expect Mild to be at most authentic Thai places. Adjust up accordingly, if you have the courage. Except for the Tom Yum soup, which is nuclear like it should be.

No frills but amazing flavors. The Maggi is the best ramen I've ever had. The gourds are reminiscent of fried zucchini but the sauce is unlike anything I've encountered. The garlic chicken was very good and the side soup was a wonderful surprise! Beyond all this the generous portions make this place a must for serious fans of Eastern dishes. The full color photo menu is extremely helpful for newbies!

This small family restaurant has fresh food and great service. The sweet and sour is very different with actual pineapple and mango making the sweet part. Lots of variety to try and none have disappointed.

The food is outstanding, so don't let the ramshackle strip mall where the restaurant is located scare you away. I enjoyed a Burmese spicy noodle dish served with watermelon for dessert. I will certainly be back!

This family restaurant is such a wonderful breath of fresh air in terms of Asian cooking for the Lansing area. It serves South East Asian soul food. We've brought our kids to this restaurant and they've always enjoyed the vast variety of dishes offered here. We always love the specials they offer. The tom yum soup was o.k, but their Burmese and Malaysian dishes are simply divine. Their service is fantastic! Due to the location, it may not catch people's eye, but definitely worth a visit!

I get their spicy egg noodle bowl...yum!! I crave it. This week I ordered one for myself to eat right then and a second one to take to work for lunch. Love it.

I haven't written a review of a restaurant in over 5 years but after visiting this place, I feel compelled to share. As other reviewers have stated, don't be put off by the location (or the interior 'decor') the food is SO good. And the people who run the place were all very gracious. We had the Tom Yum, the Ginger Bean Salad, some fried rice and an AMAZING Coconut Chicken Soup (that one is only available on the weekend). The only downside is that they don't serve beer. However, they do have some great tea and juice options that almost make up for it. Go there, you won't be sorry.

Echoing the previous comments, the food is outstanding but the decorum is questionable at best. That said, if you don't mind a restaurant that is a little rough around the edges, this place is absolutely worth it. Lansing isn't exactly known for diverse ethnic food choices, but this has to be near the top. There is so much on the menu and the owners will be more than happy to help you pick out something that suits you. Highly recommended!

Well, this place is in a run down strip mall that looks pretty dodgy. It's obviously a family run place and they work really hard. If you order water it comes in a bottle. I went into the bathroom and there was a bucket of water on the floor, which I thought odd, until I went to the sink and saw the sign which read, "No water". To wash one's hands you had to use the pitcher of water on the sink to rinse. We decided to give it a go (I still have no idea where the water to cook, wash dishes, etc., was coming from). The food was very very very good. The yom tum soup (I think that's what it was) had a unique flavor and was very good. The spring rolls were perfectly done and came 6 to an order. We ordered a beef/noodle dish which was also pretty good but the garlic chicken was fantastic. The service was good and the people there were very nice. Aside from the water issue (I don't really want to know), and the bare drywall with screws showing, it was a unique experience. If you're looking for great food and looking to support a small family owned and run business, it would be a good stop. However, I'd kind of like to see the water turned back on first. And for all that food, dinner for 4 was $40.

I was in there with a friend on Saturday after hearing about the place from the paper. Being a huge fan of Thai food, and curious about the Burmese/Malaysian options, we checked it out and were in no way disappointed. I had the Maggi Soup from the Malaysian section and the Pad Thai from the Thai section. I almost always get Pad Thai the first time I'm somewhere new as a baseline. The Pad Thai was good, but the Maggi Soup was delicious! It's a clear chicken broth base with lots of garlic, fried onions, cabbage and chicken (or pork) with raman-style noodles. I would order again in a heartbeat. The restaurant is small, but very clean and bright. There are only a few tables, but take out is available. As another reviewer mentioned, food is cooked dish by dish, so don't expect a quick in and out, but if you've got time to visit with friends and relax, the food is absolutely worth it. The one anomaly was the lack of water at the table. I ordered Thai Iced Tea, but when I asked for a glass of water later I received a bottle of water and a glass. I don't recall if I was charged for the bottle, but I'm perfectly content with tap water. I really wish this place the best of luck and look forward to my next visit, which will probably be lunch this week :D

Absolutely filthy inside. The entire restaurant smells like stale, musty carpeting and decay to the extent that, after a short time inside the restaurant, I could start to taste that funk. Food was sub-par of IngCredible, and that's saying something. I asked about vegetarian options, they had 2 dishes, unwilling to customize. Asked for a Thai curry and vegetables (not on the menu), but they said they couldn't do it. I ordered a vegetarian noodle dish, requested tofu in it for some protein and requested it be spicy. What I got were chewy, greasy, aged noodles, overcooked vegetables and tofu that was sour, clearly past expiry. And no spice. No amount of Sriracha could rescue this meal. When the server came to my table to give me my tab, he clearly noticed that I'd only eaten 3 bites of the food. Didn't ask if there was a problem with the food, didn't even ask if I wanted a box for the remainder. Really wanted to like and support this restaurant as it as it's clearly family owned, and god knows we need something other than chain restaurants in Lansing.

This place is getting rave reviews for good reason. It is the real deal. It is true that the location is awful and the ambiance is lacking, but the food is simply spectacular. The prices are incredibly low for what you are getting. The family that runs the place is friendly and service is excellent. It can get busy now that the word is out. I hope they are able to eventually move to a better part of town because that is the only thing keeping even more customers away.

if you're not eating here like once a week you're insane. everything is amazing. get over the strip mall ambience, that's where all of the world's best food is found anyway.

Excellent Southeast Asian food in Lansing!!! This place is a gem. Owner and his wife are very friendly and serve high quality delicious Malaysian, Thai, and Burmese food. My husband's family has deep roots in Southeast Asia, and we feel so lucky to have this restaurant in town to enjoy such authentic food. We had a large spread, starting with Roti Chanai and Satay. The former is only available on Fri and Sat. We had Bee Hoon thin rice noodles, stir fried egg noodles, Burmese pork curry, chicken larb, Tom yum soup, and more. Tea Tarik nicely paired with the spicy savory dishes. The restaurant is simple but clean, and you feel like you're dining in someone's home. I hear they are moving to Carriage Hills area in EL. We will follow them!!!

Love this place: cheap, friendly and tasty, what more can you ask from a family restaurant?

  • Annette K.

Good, but over-hyped. Still worth a try..... But this is not the "mecca" of take-out that some reviews claim it to be. Have reasonable expectations and order from here! Support local business and a family that does earnestly try to put out decent food..... It IS good.... It's just not all that. But hey, it's Lansing. What do you expect?

  • Cass O.

This place is absolutely delightful!!! I almost went to a Mexican restaurant around the corner instead and I'm glad I didn't. To the person that might be skeptical to trying this place out, don't be. I have to work in Lansing for a bit and will be stopping often

I've been here probably at least 5x and the food is always great. On to the food: we always start off with the spring/egg rolls which are always great. I always get the garlic chicken because it is so flavorful and delicious. With that a bowl of seafood Tom yum soup with noodles, which is probably the best thing ever if you like sour and spicy. The prices here are so cheap you can order a bunch of things to try. Also the Thai tea is pretty cheap and definitely worth a try. They also give you a complimentary plate of fruit at the end of the meal. Service: it's a family own restaurant so be patient. The owner is very nice and he's usually the one taking orders and his wife is usually cooking.

This place is so great and they need our help!! They have been forced to close because the landlord isn't paying the water bill - lansingstatejournal.com/… Anyone have any idea how to help these folks get back into business here or someplace else?? Their food is SO GOOD!

I moved to Lansing 3 month ago and was disappointed at all the local Asian restaurants until I visited this one. The food is fresh, tasty, and very authentic! Presenting is very pretty! The papaya salad even has Gejang (preserved raw crab) in it which is an authentic way of preparing it to increase the freshness of the salad (you can choose to skip the crab in it). And you can choose non-spicy. Most important, the price to me is very reasonable! So I gave more tips.... By the way, the service is awesome! Though a little bit slow because they only have one chef (owner's wife) and one waiter (the owner). They have 3-5 tables, but very clean. Only concern is, if you order water, it will be a bottle of water ($1). I cook my own Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Malaysia and other Asian food and this restaurant is the only one that taste better than mine. Hope the owner and his wife can maintain their authentic way of cooking and do not serve Americanized food like other Asian restaurants in town. Well said, I joined Yelp 2 years ago and this is my first review because I was motivated by the delicious food and would like to share this place with anyone who love Asian food. I believe this is why yelp can grow stronger - experienced the happiness and share it with others. Sincerely, Catherine.

Wow, big time flavors, fresh ingredients, extremely hard working owners, and the BEST food I have had in a long time. This place was a big surprise to me; due to setting (see other reviews) I would not have stopped in if a coworker had not brought me here - boy would I have missed out on this jem. We had the Tom Yum soup, tea salad, garlic chicken and lime juice drinks. Each item ordered was outstanding, along with the complementary watermelon after the meal which was a cool finish..will be back for sure.

Delicious thai/burmese food! Egg rolls were great. Tom Yum Soup was good as well, a bit to acidic that day, but still very delicious. Ask to add noodles! Also, I got to try the Garlic Chicken, which was SOOO delicious. Can't wait to go back to try more of their food items!

After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to give this place a try. It is for sure located in a very sketchy and mostly abandoned strip mall between the marijauna store and a tattoo/piercing parlor. But I honestly feel like this added to the experience. The restaurant itself was clean for what it is and the servers friendly. The place was packed on a Thursday night at 8pm! There is a menu and an accompanying picture book for all items, which is nice. The food tends to come out in waves, but it is worth the wait. We tried the basil fried rice, fried bean appetizer, garlic chicken and a soup. It was all good. The car parked outside with the loud bass was annoying, but again all part of the adventure I guess!

Easily the best food per dollar in lansing, and depending on the dish, some of the best ethnic food in the area. The decor is frumpy, the signage isn't obvious, but in my experience, this has nothing to do with the quality of the food. Definitely one of the must-eat-at places in the greater lansing area.

I decided to eat here based on all the super positive reviews and, honestly, I'm really not sure what the fuss is all about. First, as many of the other reviews admit, the location is preposterously bad and I'd add risky. As somebody who grew up in the rougher parts of Detroit, and is actively involved in personal security/defense/law enforcement circles (and is also 6'8"...), this decaying remnant of a strip mall, and the characters around it, made my spidey senses tingle. If you come here, I would suggest not coming alone and not at night. With that out of the way, let's discuss the restaurant. The interior is palatable, but rough and awkwardly finished. The staff seemed to be very friendly, but don't speak English very well, BUT had the delightful foresight to actually create binders of PHOTOS of every dish instead of trying to explain them in broken English. I LOVE THIS!! I've long said that EVERY restaurant should do this! I mean think about the fact that every French Dip menu description is nearly identical, but the sandwiches you wind up with can vary wildly. Show me a pic and we're in business! But I digress... I ordered a Thai Iced Tea, the Fried Bottle Gourd, and Shrimp Pad Thai. The tea came first and was pretty standard Thai tea, but served over ice. The Fried Gourd was as pictured and was reminiscent of a tempura battered zucchini. The dipping sauce was AWESOME. Cilantro, with earthy, spicy, creaminess all mixed together. Very good. The Pad Thai was as pictured, served under a blanket of egg cut open to reveal the noodles below. Here's where I diverge from the other reviewers claiming this place has the best Thai food. The Pad Thai was OK, but far from the best. For $7 the portion was generous and it did have a surprising total of 5 medium sized shrimp, but overall it was not a particularly good Pad Thai. The noodles were over cooked and mushy, the sauce wasn't quite right (I'm not sure there was any Tamarind at all, and it was pretty much missing the sweet element), and it was almost pasty in texture. I'd probably forego it in favor of something else if I make another trip here. There are some pretty good looking dishes in the photo binder ( the Fried Rice Vermicelli looks to be a variation of Singapore Noodles which I enjoy enough that I make them at home quite often). Everything did seem fresh, so there's that. And I agree that the prices do make it a pretty impressive value. I'd say give them a try, but definitely maintain some situational awareness in the parking lot.

I was looking up reviews for new restaurants and found this gem. Yes, the outside is dingy and the inside is very lack-luster. HOWEVER, the food is incredible and the prices cannot be beat. My sister and I each got a bottle of water, a can of diet coke, split a salad and each got an entree and our total was only $26!! Seriously, that can't be beat. I got the garlic chicken, which was frickin' amazing and it comes with a chicken broth soup that has some fried onions swirled throughout. We also got some complimentary fresh sliced watermelon, loved it! Also, I have to say that their was a toddler, I think the bosses son, running around the restaurant and he was just the cutest thing ever. It gave us some entertainment to watch him exploring and watching the employees playing and taking care of him. Very homey feel to this place.

I was looking for restaurants while in Lansing for work. I found Naing Myanmar on Yelp, I had never had Burmese cuisine before, so I headed over for dinner. The restaurant is located in the middle of a dodgy strip mall. I walk in and was greeted by warmth (on this actually freezing November day) and a packed restaurant. I was surprised by how busy they were, there was not a seat available and there were several people ahead of me in a line. As it turned out I had chosen their anniversary day to try the restaurant for the first time. In celebration they had a buffet that night (for $5!). Since I was alone (intending on ordering take out) and chairs were scarce in the tiny restaurant, I ended up sitting with a friendly couple. Luckily for me the husband was Burmese, and they were regulars, as none of the dishes on the buffet were labeled. They were able to identify the ones I did not know. Several items were Thai including the Pad Thai, soup and the papaya salad. The salad in particular was just like what I had experienced in Thailand, refreshing citrus with a bite of spiciness. The broth of the coconut soup had a lovely flavor and was welcoming with the cold. I also tried several other dishes that included their fried fish cake, chicken wings and the tea bean salad. The last one was particularly an adventure as it was very different than any kind of salad I have tried. They use tea to flavor the salad, along with spices, and add several types of beans including a crispy soy bean. I do not think I could eat a large portion of this dish, but enjoyed all that I had on my plate. It was the perfect night to go as I was able to try so many different dishes, I would definitely return on a future trip to Lansing. The restaurant is clearly a family run place. The entire experience seemed like I had a crashed a family and friends get-together. Many of the other customers knew the owners and each other and greeted one another.

I never even noticed this place before I read a review on Yelp. If you love good food you have to try this place. The atmosphere is not very exciting but the food is delicious and service was very pleasant. I tip 10 dollars every time I go. I can afford to since the food is so reasonable. I like going here because they use spices that most other places do not. I have tried many dishes and love them all. And don't worry about not knowing what to get...their menu is all large pictures! Enjoy!

I'm so glad I found this restaurant on Yelp while trying to find places I haven't ate at in the Greater Lansing area. As mentioned in all previous review, Naing is located in a strip mall that you would never want to pull into if you're lost. The building is extremely run down, the parking lot is full of potholes. Even inside the restaurant, there's no ambiance, white wall, white ceiling, cheap tables and chairs. But it looks clean. When I went for lunch, there was only 1 guy taking care of the entire dining room, plus packing take out order. But he was doing a great job to keep up. After he brought us a plate of watermelons, he was gone. We waited for a bit, then decided to go up to the counter to pay. Everyone in the restaurant were nice and friendly. I went there twice in a week because there are so many dishes I want to try. Everything I had there are so delicious. Pickled tea leave bean salad - if you're not used to fermented food, you may want to pinch your nose when it gets to your table. It has a pungent smell, but you just get used to it after a little while. I love the contrast of texture, crunchy beans, soft tea leave. I can't tell what is in the dressing, but oh, it tasted so good. Tom Yum seafood soup with noodles - I ordered medium spice, and that was perfect for me. The broth is the best part, it's flavorful. Maggi soup - it's a big bowl of noodles in broth. Reminds me of packaged ramen noodles. The broth is definitely not the powdered packet. Garlic chicken - only had a couple bites (way too much food). The chicken was tender, garlic wasn't overwhelming. It comes with a side of broth that tastes like the broth in Maggi soup, lots of fried garlic pieces. Fried gourd - love the dipping sauce for this. It has a kick in the sauce, but the gourd inside balance it out nicely. The batter for the gourd is light, not greasy at all. Roti canai with chicken curry - the roti was flaky and yummy, the curry is a little salty, not hot, but you can taste lots of spice in it, it's great pairing with the roti. Coconut noodles soup with chicken - the noodles look like spaghetti, not a big fan of that (but I still ate the entire bowl), the broth was great. Overall, not a place to have a romantic date. But if you want to try something different, or just want some tasty food and have a tight budget, this is the place. I think the most expensive entree is $9, you can walk out easily for under $30 for 2 people.

Probably the best Burmese/ Thai food you'll find in Lansing; run by a Burmese couple - the husband serves while the wife prepares the orders. For this reason, food can be a bit slow in getting out, but it's worth the wait. I've tried some very mediocre places in E. Lansing and Okemos - and Naing far surpassed those. Had the tea salad, Tom Yum, and Pad See Ew. There are a ton of noodle options on the menu, but zero Thai curries on offer. So decided to order the Tom Yum with a side of rice to kinda make that our curry dish. Tom Yum was excellent - lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, and white bottom mushrooms - all the legit, base ingredients. And Pad See Ew was also delicious. Dining here is all about the food - the interior is a bit of a wreck. Wish it was closer to the city center - it's a bit isolated in the southern outskirts of Lansing.

We went here for the first time this weekend and we are already planning a return trip. This place is phenomenal! The location is very deceiving. Located in a run down strip mall on Cedar Street it's the kind of place I'd have driven past a million times if a friend hadn't recommended it to me. I'm so glad she did! The food is very inexpensive and very, very good! We had garlic chicken, the papaya salad and the tom yum soup with noodles. Everything was delicious. The owners were very friendly as well. Can't wait to go back!

The Mecca of hole in the wall food joints. The locale is perfect, truly a hidden gem. First thing I tried was the Maagi Soup, and all I have to say is, bruh... Overall, with the cheapness of the meals I feel like they must be buying low end supplies (like from Aldi or Save a lot) to accommodate the price, but then they work their magic and create these magnificent dinners, which isn't taking points away. A chef is only as good as their resourcefulness, so if they can only be brilliant with Fillet Mignon and terrible with a basic chuck porterhouse, then they get no praise from me. Also, if you're going to be a snob about the healthiness of the items on the menu then, WHY THE F*** ARE YOU EVEN THERE? You don't belong, go somewhere else; not stating that you have to lower your standards to enjoy this place. For everyone else looking for good eats and enjoy Asian cuisine, you're gonna have a good time, the price is definitely below the worth of it's quality and presentation. So much so, that you'll tip extra because you feel guilty of how inexpensive the meals are.

The restaurant is a homely structure along the cluttered vanishing point of South Cedar Street. However, it might be some of the best food in Lansing right now. Dishes are made to order and well-crafted from fresh ingredients. The fried spicy noodles with pork and iced coffee were excellent. Next time I will try a fresh squeezed lime juice and one of their Malaysian curries.

I'm so glad to find this hidden gem! The Tom yum soup is the best I've ever had. It is very authentic that has a strong taste of coconut milk and other special species. Sadly I will move to Chicago this Thurs. So i will not have a chance to try the Faluda(a special drink popular in south Asia). They have a special menu for Friday and Saturday. If you don't like how Thai Princess fools you, come here and try real Thai dishes!

The service was slow in the beginning (it took like 20-30 minutes for someone to come over and take our order), but I'm still giving this 5 stars because the food was absolutely AMAZING and worth the wait. I went with 3 people and every single dish we ordered was delicious. I'll definitely be going back.

This place is so amazing. Quite possibly the best Thai food I've ever had from a restaurant. The papaya salad was delicious. Iced coffee and Thai tea were made from a mix but they were still very good. I don't even know the names of the rest of what I got but it was all sooo good. I look forward to coming back soon.

I've been eager to try this place after reading Yelp reviews. Fortunately, I was well prepared for the horrible location and shady interior, but the food lived up to its reputation!! The food deserves five stars but I only gave it four based on the restaurant location, interior, and the fact that we had to buy bottled water to go with our meal. I got the garlic chicken, I would definitely recommend it, I hear it's their most popular dish. My daughter got the rice noodle vermicelli, which was standard. It looked dry but after trying it I was really impressed with the seasoning. My husband had the curry beef, which I tried, and we were both blown away by the flavor. He said he is going to have a hard time coming back and not ordering that every time. We ordered the bean paste appetizer, the dipping sauce was really delicious and they were fresh and hot. I would love to see more appetizers on the menu. We will definitely be returning, the food is out of this world, a great ethnic addition to the Lansing area. It is my hope that this family is able to find a better location and that more people will discover it, with the right investment and advertising it will be a huge success.

Ambiance: Honestly it doesn't get much more ghetto being located next to hydroponics/alternative medicine clinic and tattoo parlor. The walls have peeling grey and pink floral wallpaper and the furnishings come straight from your childhood church banquets. There are admittedly some mediocre paintings of Thai objects but there's also a framed picture of a forest, a bird-themed clock and a crooked Native American painting. Setting the garage-sale decor aside though, the staff are friendly and the food cooks pretty fast. Food: There's a lot on the menu but luckily they have pictures of all the dishes on the menu. Some of the dishes are only available on Friday and Saturday too. By far, one of my favorite dishes is the chicken larb which matches the simple clean flavors I found on my trip to Thailand. Its a dish of ground chicken mixed in a chili-lime-cilantro sauce and red onions. The dish's ratios are generally spot-on although it does vary a little each time I've gone. They only give you one leaf of lettuce to scoop it up with which is pretty standard so don't expect a true salad if you've never had it before. The pad thai is pretty solid with plenty of chicken, not-too-clumpy noodles and a fun egg border. Most recently I had the coconut noodle soup with chicken and it was pretty delicious. There was a savory broth with prominent coconut milk flavor served over some thick ramen noodles and chicken and sliced egg. My wife had the tom yum soup with vermicelli noodles and chicken which had a good soup base but a touch too much lime-y tang for my tastes. The only bad dish I had was the Thai basil with beef which tasted like spoiled meat in a thin soy sauce, I didn't finish it to say the least. Texture can be a weak point at Naing due to them pre-cooking some of the ingredients, it can come off being a little dry or too friable at times. The ingredients don't smack with freshness but the flavors are truly where they shine. Overall, Naing is a hidden gem with authentic flavors. It certainly is ghetto and it won't be winning any gourmet awards anytime soon but it offers quick, cheap ($5-7), and flavor-packed dishes. Definitely worth a try if you haven't aready.

Place is amazing. Incredibly cheap, great GREAT food, and don't forget the smoothies. They could easily charge twice as much, and since the place seems to have become something of a hit in town, prices might start creeping up. Get it now while you can!

I love the salad the most. It's not usual American salad. And it was awesome. All the noodles and soups look great too. I love the menu with pics, so I know what I'm actually ordering.

Simple review: Don't let the outside fool you. Nor my 3-star. I would actually give the place 3.5. I reserve 4 for truly excellent places and 5 for truly exceptional. Good food from the Asia Pacific region - and very reasonable prices.

What a crazy find in Lansing. We were driving west for the holidays and was craving dinner food before we could make it our destination. He wanted to stop in Lansing- however, it being Christmas Eve, did not leave us with many options! Almost every restaurant was closed...until we stumbled upon this restaurant. We were about to give in to go to Subway (which I really don't care for), and I quickly and emergency yelped and found this restaurant! Burmese food in.... Lansing?! What in the world! We drove up to a random strip plaza. From the outside you get the "ugh" feeling but walking into the restaurant though, you realize you have definitely found your hole in the wall Burmese restaurant. He ordered the Maggi Goreng soup- absolutely delicious and the broth was fantastic. I got the beef curry- the sauce was so good and the beef was so tender.... Everything about the meal was just so good. I even got a hot Thai tea to go with it.. Eh, why not. And the prices are so cheap! I feel like, go to a big city, and they probably charge double the price. The people who own the restaurant are super nice as well. Overall, we were very satisfied and will definitely need to stop by this place more often on our way home!

The best Thai food in the area, loved the coconut chicken noodle soup! I would definitely come here again. Very cute family, support local!

This place looks sketchy as hell, but it was stunningly delicious. There were four of us for dinner. We started with the baked fried bean powder. It was vaguely like tofu in consistency, and quite delicious. For dinner we had four random dishes from the menu, one of which was soup, and all of them blew us away. As lovers of asian food, we will definitely be back.

I had heard tell that a new Burmese/Malay place was opening in Lansing, but I didn't really believe it until I went there myself. It's true, and it's good. It's a small place in a run down strip mall that you might miss the first time you drive by. The inside is rather dingy looking, although not in a dirty way, it just looks as though it had been a depressing office before it was a restaurant. To make up for the lack of atmosphere, the food is amazing! They use fresh ingredients, the service is quick and the menu is broad. There are always special dishes on the weekend. It is a family owned restaurant and the small child and baby are usually somewhere in the dining area too. They are adorable. I really hope this place gets business because it the food is delicious!

First things first, I may be bias on my review. This is mostly because my parents grew up in Burma, so I've had real Burmese food before (it's like saying mom's cooking is the best). That being said, I felt the food was ok. My boyfriend and I specifically came in on a Saturday to eat from their special menu. My first thought was "why do you serve these dishes 2 days in a week??" but that might be because 1. not many customers and 2. not many people are familiar/brave enough to try these dishes. Lucky for them, I came in and knew the food very well. My boyfriend ordered mohinga and I ordered ohno khaunt sway, 2 classic Burmese dishes. Both dishes were the right spiciness, which we both liked; but there was still something a little off. My boyfriend's dish tasted a bit different than usual. With mine, the ingredients were different. The big difference I noticed was the noodle. We still finished the soups to the last drop but we were just content with them. One nice surprise was the complimentary dessert: fresh watermelon and orange slices. They definitely helped calm down the spicy meal. Service was alright. The waiter was nice and quiet, but he wasn't really good with his job. We could tell he wasn't well-trained. It was as if he was there to just help. For example, we were obviously done with our meals, dishes and everything were cleared out, but we didn't get our check for 5-10 minutes (hmm...free meal??). We eventually had to wave the waiter down to get it. Overall, even though this restaurant is in a shady, run-down shopping plaza, it does have potential for good food and serve. And I do have to say, I'm really surprised there is a Burmese restaurant in the middle of Michigan (I give them props!). But I think if more people came here, they would step up their game in their food and serve and also maybe beautify this area a little to make it look more friendly and welcoming.

From the salad to the tea, this place was excellent! I was in a party of three and every single dish we had was as good as it gets. I had the coconut chicken noodle, and it was packed with great flavor. My friends' dishes were equally as good. The best part aside from the food, is the price of the food. The food is very affordable, and the service was very polite.

This place feels like an old room used for bingo, and the view from the outside makes one very skeptical. These are things you must get past though because the food that comes out of that kitchen is absolutely amazing and like nothing else in Lansing. I'm drooling a little just thinking about it. The menu is awesome too because every dish has a huge picture.

Great food a true hidden gem in lansing. Had the Maggi goreng and the fried rice. While the ambiance is not the geatest the food makes up for it

Super excited when I found this restaurant as a Burmese living around Detroit! The owners are Burmese so it's a plus for me. I've been here twice. The food were good. I just wish there's more Burmese dishes here. The place might look bad from outside (or even inside) but hey why are you here for? Food!! If the food is good, serve clean and fresh, why would you care about how the place looks like? ;) Am I the only Burmese living in Detroit btw? Lol!

Very good food. As others have said, ignore the sketchy looking building, it's all about the food. Perfect portion sizes, great flavors, wide selection.
