Maybe my expectations were set too high. I orders a chicken spinach sandwich of some sort that came with pub fries. The fries were the star of the meal-- The chicken was dry and the sandwich lacked flavor. I should've ordered the fish and chips(like everyone else). Unless my next meal is close to free I won't be returning.

Yes, yet another chain restaurant review but I cannot deny the fact that I loved this place when I lived in East Lansing. The decor at the Eastwood Towne Center location is beautiful with it's half-moon archways, roaring fireplaces and exposed brick walls. These definitely give Claddagh's an Irish pub feel... or at least what I imagine the pubs to feel like since I've never been to Ireland. :-) I've had a number of menu items at Claddagh's. All of them good, some of them memorable. For starters, we always enjoyed ordering the Fried Onion Rings, which were hula hoop sized onion rings. Okay, maybe not that big but they were really large. So crispy and so delicious! For lunch, I'd say that the Monte Cristo sandwich is a good pick. It's your traditional (and lovely) Monte Cristo sandwich, but battered and deep fried. Please note that I did not say it was the healthiest option! For dinner, I've had the Fish and Chips, Shepard's Pie, Bangers and Mash, and the Irish Beef Stew. Of all these, my favorite has always been the beef stew because I simply LOVE beef stew of any kind. For dessert, I've had the Bread Pudding, which was good but not mind-blowing. An item not on the menu but worth mentioning is their Potato and Ham Soup. This was always a nice soup to have when it got cold out. It's very rich and hearty, a good one for those that like ham. Overall, I know it's a chain but I would likely continue to go to Claddagh's if I lived in the area and had a hankering for a hearty meal!

I'd sort of give them a 2.5. The beer list was outstanding, and the rooms were comfortable. However, I was unimpressed with the food - had some apps with a group and the mac and cheese (I was looking for something other than meat and fried fish). One would think an "irish" pub might have some lamb or a broader fish selection (they were actually out of Salmon, and it was only about 8pm).

Also waitress was slow and seemed to not care much about our table and lastly it had a horrible smell we were sat next to the kitchen exit not sure what the smell was but I hope it was not added to the food I ordered.

Went here to watch Monday night football. Last call was at 10:27pm, two minutes into the third quarter (Yelp said it was open until 1am.). Not a place to go if you want to watch sports. Update: tried to go back a couple days later after a wedding when Yelp said it was the only place open around us. Got there at 12:25am, Yelp said they were open until 2:00am. Doors were locked. Yelp definitely needs to update the hours of operation.

This place was a gem when it opened years ago. It was alive and full of character. Now it's kind of just the final choice when everyone can't decide on where to eat--because it's there. I reluctantly return here about twice a year. Every time I find the beer selection lackluster (it's an Irish restaurant for God's sake), the staff seeming like they're there 'cause they have to be and, nearly always, some cutback to the food. The Monday fish and chips BOGO may be what keeps the place running. Note that the once awesome chips have been replaced with some bland kind that may have come from the grocery freezer. Gone are the little touches like seasoning on top of the special sour cream etc etc. The waitstaff is sometimes polite and sometimes competent. Tonight the person serving the food never brought back what was asked of them, the waitress came back and forth three times to get the bill right and, well, basically I'm consistently underwhelmed. Look elsewhere unless no one can agree on dinner. Cause that's about what it's worth.

The reason I give Claddagh's three stars is not because their food isn't good, it is. The service was also exceptional. But, you are looking at $20 minimum for a meal that might leave you hungry an hour later.

Had I yelped this place two or three years ago, it may have been a 4 or 5 star review. Sadly, it seems, this place gets worse and worse every time I come in. The managers and staff seem to be those who might frequent Rick's and drink primarily jaeger bombs and miller lite. The staff is generally too busy talking with each other to actually give you proper service. The bar keeps trying gimmicky things to bring younger college kids in and that's just not their demographic, try as they might. Bright spots for this pub is the ambiance, the decent selection of beer, and the fact that they are a soccer bar. The food is pretty good, but a bit overpriced. I've only rarely been disappointed in a dish I've been served. This place has potential to be great, but they're choosing not to be.

This is a decent Irish Pub practically across the street from the Courtyard Marriott in Lansing. I got the standard Fish and Chips and was pleased but not blown away. It came with one large piece of beer battered cod and a small side of fries. I was shocked to see this meal on a plate and not a basket, but that's really not important. Anyway, my coworker raved about her meatloaf sandwich, and I must admit it looked pretty tasty. For two girls born in the south, that was a surprisingly "down home" item on the menu. Stop in if you're in the area. The beer list is pretty local, and probably the place's best feature.

Bar area is overcrowded with (empty) tables and stools and the bartenders are typically quite lousy and unattentive (disappearing for 10 minutes at a time). Servers are hit and miss (as is the case with any chain in a mall) and the food is average, at best.

I'm surprised this place doesn't have better reviews. I came here with my dad for dinner and we both really enjoyed it. We had the scotch eggs which I think were overpriced but tasty (you can really taste the sage). My dad got the rosemary chicken pasta which he said was good and I had the fish and chips which was delicious. Our server was nice and they had golf on for my dad.

I was not impressed with Claddagh. 1. They were out of Manger's cider, and when the server offered me a different type of cider and I accepted, he definitely gave me a beer instead of a cider. 2. They were out of bread for the table. 3. Half of our group ordered fish and chips, and they all came cold. 4. The menu is misleading. The shepherd's pie boasts "root vegetables." The only root vegetable inside my shepherd's pie was a singular carrot. Don't say "root vegetables" if it's just carrots. Just say carrots. 5. Service was very VERY slow. I was sad, because this was my sister's graduation dinner, and it was obvious that most, if not all of us were disappointed.

I definitely feel like I romanticize this place more when I haven't been there in a while. And then I go and realize why it's just meh. But it has some meaning for me as it was the first place off campus that I dined at during college. Maybe I haven't gone at a good time -- I've never been there when they play Irish music. In the back dining room -- not the bar -- the decor is a bit outdated, and our booth/table had two mismatching chairs. There's this nook area in the back where you sit in a booth that's elevated into this ... nook. well, there was all sorts of crap there, like paint buckets and such. Not exactly things you want to be looking at while you eat. I also don't find the food particularly memorable other than their potato wedges/fries that are seasoned well. I also wish they'd offer some of their lunch items during dinner. Feel like it's common for restaurants to do that, and charge a bit more. But they do have a good happy hour, and the patio -- if you can get a spot -- is probably the best part.

I also love the decor, really homey and there's plenty of seating options. One of my favorite spots in Lansing/EL.. Note: even though this is pub, I've never come here for fish and chips or beer. I can't claim to have an extensive knowledge of Claddagh's menu. That's because every time I go there, I am unable to avoid ordering the fish and chips. I love this menu item. The beer-battered filet is large and tender, and the "pub fries" (potato wedges) are nicely seasoned. It also comes with cole slaw which isn't too bad. Ordered with a glass of Boddington's Pale Ale and I'm a happy camper. I don't leave hungry, that's for sure. About the only negative I can recall from our many visits is that on occasion, the service seemed to be a little shaky. At times I've wondered if they schedule enough wait staff, though they are always pleasant to deal with.

Not the greatest food and even worse service. The only reason I didn't rate Claddagh with One Star is because I can't help but love the decor! Although the stools around the bar are kind of awkward, especially when you're petite. I can only imagine how difficult they would be to balance on if you were obese... My first experience at Claddagh was okay. Both of my guests and my food were on the cold side. Our waitress was present to start, but her service dwindled during our stay. My second (and last) experience was horrific. We went mid-afternoon and for once, Claddagh was not even halfway to maximum capacity. That didn't matter though... our waiter was basically a ghost. He also served both of us the wrong meals after an hour and a half of waiting with no apology. Mine was pretty edible, but my boyfriend was served some sort of unknown meat (was it a veggie burger?) on a single bun... it was difficult to swallow. We decided to stick around for dessert. I ordered their cheesecake bowl... It tasted like curdled sour milk and lemon. I took two bites and felt extremely nauseas. I love the idea of Claddagh, and I think they have a lot of potential... they just need to get their shnits together. The only way I will go back is if someone invites me out for drinks there... the bar really looks like the last acceptable part of this restaurant.

Went here on a Monday because of their buy one get one free fish and chips deal. My husband and I were excited to save some money, and still get delicious food. We sat down, and ordered the fish and chips, and asked for water to drink, because we don't like to spend $3.00 on a pop. The waitress told us that the fish and chips deal only works if you both order pop or something else that costs money. So a $15.99 order turned into $20 due to this. The sign outside says nothing about having to order pop, or a beverage that costs, with the fish and chips, and I hate being misled. Also, you get one piece of fish, and a handful of chips. For $15.99. Granted, the piece of fish is as long as the plate, but if I'm going to spend that kind of money on one dish, I'll go somewhere where I can drink what I want. Not coming back.

Since it's in Eastwood, this place is always crowded. Still, I love to go there and enjoy a great plate of fish and chips. It's a popular meeting spot for out-of-town guests with good reason. Everything is well prepared, and the price isn't all that expensive for a decent night out. Entrees range from $8 to $20. My own recommendations are, of course, Fish and Chips, Monte Cristo sandwich, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and the Clam Chowder soup. Oh, and if you're a beer lover, it's easy to find heaven in a glass, or a bottle.

I drove up to EL from Chicago to visit my sister last weekend, and after a long day of driving and shopping and walking around, I was craving Fish and Chips. My sister didn't really know where to go but then a light bulb went off and she remembered this place by her apartment. We didn't get to Claddagh until 8:30pm and it was not very busy. Being a Wednesday, I wasn't expecting a pub to be too crowded. We were seated in the Library, which was perfect since my little sister wants to be a librarian. The decor was super cute, very homey and welcoming. The TVs at the bar were playing Football. EUROPEAN Football, mind you. Very authentic, if you ask me. Later on in the night there was live Irish music. My sister and I ordered identical meals- Guinness Onion Soup and Fish and Chips. I also ordered a Newcastle, since I am new to the dark beer community and didn't feel quite ready to go full Guinness. The soup was, in a word, AMAZING. The cheese was all stretchy, just like it should be. The onions were plentiful and thick cut. Yum Yum Yum. The fish and chips were not what I expected, but it was a good thing! I was expecting your run of the mill Bennigans type battered chunks with normal fries. This was one HUGE fillet atop a giant serving of seasoned chips. My sister and I joked that if we put our meals together we'd have a whole fish. It was too much for either of us to finish, but it was just as delicious reheated the next day. Our server was alright- she was very nice but we did go a long time without seeing her. She was enthusiastic, though, and genuinely happy to hear that we were enjoying ourselves. We liked Claddagh so much that my sister made dinner reservations there to celebrate her graduation in a few weeks! Can't wait to come back, and I wish they had one close to home!!

I have to agree with some earlier reviews that the Claddagh has taken a step back. I used to come all the time and really enjoy it. When I went yesterday I was shocked to he handed a single open faced menu. A few app selections, a few salads, and an average amount of entrees. Driving into Eastwood on a Saturday night you can usually expect a big crowd. I saw the crowd at Bravo and Mitchell's as usual but not at Claddagh. I sat outside which was almost full, and thought the inside was the same. After the meal I stopped in to use the restroom and the place was empty. It would be generous to say there were 15 people in the whole place at 9pm on a Saturday night. A plus is that they still have the clam chowder which is one of my favorites. I thought our waitress was also pretty good although she did forget to bring out one item but just took it off the bill. I got the meatloaf (MA! THE MEATLOAF!) and liked it. It was unlike any meatloaf I've ever had. It was two almost scoops, wrapped in bacon and topped with a spicy mustard. The veggies and mashed potatoes were what you'd expect, just average. If Claddagh can go back to their old menu and re-attract the customers looking for the most authentic Irish experience, I think they can move up to a 4/5 no problem, but for now they are just A-OK.

This is an amazing pub! I've never had a bad meal here. The staff is friendly and the establishment is warm and inviting. Some nights its a bit of a wait to get a seat but its well worth it. I suggest that you ask for Cassy to be your server provided she's working.

Caught a movie with friends at NCG on a Saturday night and stopped into Claddagh's for dinner afterwards. First, parking was obnoxious. If the rest of the experience were positive, this might be a non-issue; unfortunately for Claddagh, it was just the beginning. Second, the service was horrendous. Almost (but not quite) the worst service I've ever had in Lansing. Our waitress completely ignored me while taking drink orders, didn't ask about entree options (the menu stated a choice between wedges and mac&cheese), and was virtually non-existent between taking our order and delivering our check. Third, the price was high for the kind of food offered. Their specialty is fish & chips, but $14 seems a little steep for pub food. I tried the Shamrock chicken sandwich (~$10). It was flavorful, but the chicken breast covered less than half of the bun. One friend ordered the Shepard's Pie (~$14), which was not tasty. The other two ordered the fish sandwich (~$10) and the Chicken Kildare (~$14), both of which seemed satisfying. Overall, I wouldn't avoid Claddagh's in the future, but I definitely won't be suggesting another visit. There are much tastier restaurants in the Lansing area that cost much less and include much better service.

We went to the Claddagh after seeing a movie since we were all hungry. We got in and were seated at two tables. The chairs are the most uncomfortable chairs in the history of the universe. Every table they have is bar-height, so the chairs were too tall for me to rest my feet on the floor (and I'm almost six feet tall), but the cross supports were so high I had to scrunch up in the fetal position just to sit on these torture devices. Plus, even with three of us to a table, we were squished together like sardines. I have never been more physically uncomfortable in a restaurant in my life. So we look at the menu. Okay, fish and chips, what...thirteen dollars?! Are you kidding?! Seriously, fish and chips are supposed to be a cheap meal. It's fried fish and french fries, how difficult is that? Anyway, fish and chips are really the only "irish" thing I saw on the menu. No shepard's pie, no cabbage stew, oh but there's CURRY CHICKEN! Yeah, because that's what I want when I go to an Irish restaurant! CURRY CHICKEN! Oh and a BURGER, because that is, like SO IRISH, right? The more I looked at the menu, the more I realized that the word "Irish" on the sign apparently only referred to the fact that they have a lot of old Guinness signs and shamrocks hanging on the wall, because that was just about the only thing "Irish" about this place. I ordered the monte cristo sandwich. I'd never had one before, so I had no idea what it was supposed to taste like. I was not impressed. It was two slices of french toast topped with powdered sugar, which flew everywhere in a noxious cloud every time I touched it. The sugar/salt combination in the sandwich itself was balanced perfectly, in fact it was balanced SO perfectly it had no flavor at all! None whatsoever! It literally tasted like nothing! Disappointed by my sandwich, I tried my wife's curry chicken. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be: weak. The spice had a delayed reaction, but it was ultimately a disappointment. Being a Grand Rapids native and familiar with our excellent british/irish pub restaurants such as the Black Rose (RIP), Mulligan's, and Graydon's Crossing, I can't say I liked anything about Claddagh. This place is a low-rent Applebee's in disguise. No more Irish than a redneck in a guinness t-shirt. Hell, Bennigan's is more authentic. Plus, they added an automatic 18% gratuity to our bill even though we had less than 8 people in our party and it was the early afternoon. What a bunch of schmucks!

If you like Irish food, this is no longer the place for you. Their menu changes each time I go, and I half expect the servers to tell me that the menu has changed in the amount of time it has taken me to select one of their faux Irish items. Since opening, they've all but turned into a chili's. One of my companions ordered a bbq Bacon burger, one ordered pesto topped fish, and I ordered the "corner beef cabbage and potato stack." A bland, sad gravy was poured over the entire mess that tasted like it came straight out of a jar. The corner beef tasted more like roast beef (i've had better corner beef in an airport). The service, however, was excellent. Our waitress was the only thing keeping me from giving this place a single star.

One of my favorite restaurants (even though it's a chain) in East Lansing. I'll miss you when I leave. I'm here at least once a month. I've only tried about 1/8 of the menu but everything I've had has been great especially their potato wedges and appetizers. Fish and chips are one of the best in EL but can be greasy. Lately, my favorite item to get has been the Brian Boru Steak Salad, the Chicken Tenders, or Meatloaf Melt. Service is generally good but we're usually here late on a weeknight when it's kinda dead. Their kitchen is open until 11pm Mon-Thurs which is great when you have night class until 8-9pm. Actually just came here tonight (Tues) and discovered it was student night and got a 20% discount. That's just more reason to come on Tues!

Was looking for some good fish and chips and was very pleased by the entree here at the Claddagh. The portion was huge and very tasty. The "chips" left a little to be desired, but I was there for the fish mostly, so wasn't too disappointed. The Monte Cristo also gets rave reviews. The interior is very inviting with giant wood beams, some great stone fireplaces, and had a very authentic feel. Being an Irish pub, the beer selection has all the usual suspects, Guiness, Harp, Smithwick's, Bodington's, etc. My only problem was with the service. It took quite some time to get a server after we were seated. It seemed a little disorganized like no one knew whose table it was supposed to be. And we had already gotten our drinks from the bar, so they may have thought some one else had taken our order...Anyway, even after finally getting someone's attention, she wasn't too attentive for the duration of the meal.

The few times I've been here, the food and service has been excellent. It's a nice place to stop in after shopping, celebrate an important event, have a nice dinner with a good friend, or go for a date. It's casual dining, but the restaurant is nice enough where it wouldn't be weird to dress up a bit for dinner. My favorite is the Monte Cristo (or the heart attack on a plate), but the fish and chips are also very good. They have an excellent drink menu with old favorites and original drinks. It's a little pricey, but you get a lot of food, and the atmosphere is great, so I can't complain.

Claddagh is a chain restaurant that I can actually stand. In spirit of being an Irish pub, it is all wooden and sweet. The bar calls you to drink beer. I love the spinach artichoke chicken sandwich and the pub chips that come with the entree. So yummy! It also helps that they serve up Hooegarden, draft style here. So, if you are in Eastwood Towne Center and want some yummy bar food, this is a good choice.

Now, this is a review based off only one visit, however, I thought the food was fabulous. One of my friends treated I and two others to dinner here; his family makes it a point to eat there when they visit because they think it's that good. I had fish and chips, one of my friends had a chicken dish, another had a pot pie or shepherd's pie, and my other friend had something else (I admit, I don't remember). Everyone really enjoyed their food. Our waitress was a little inattentive, but we were in an odd place, I admit. The "magic night" thing was a little over the top, but it wasn't a minus. All in all, a good place to eat, with some great food. Then again, I don't drink and it was a Wednesday night, so this is a food review, not much else.

I love this place and wish they would have one near me now. I enjoy their food and their drink selection. It's a great Irish resteraunt located in the Eastwood shopping center so it's surrounded by shops and a movie theatre. You could go to dinner and then pop over to see a movie. During the busy times, you can put your name down and shop a little while you wait. The waiters are all really nice here and the decor is meant to look like you walked into a Irish bar. It's got great wooden booths and nice dinning tables. I came here many times and had great service and food here. My fiance enjoyed their beer selection here and their bar makes great drinks. Definatly check this place out for a drink with friends or a great meal by the fireplace. :)

Your typical Irish Pub in a box. It was pretty good though. I loved my beer battered fish and garlic potato wedges. The man had beef stew...which was kinda small and just OK. We were seated in the crappiest spot...a tiny table near the door. Gee thanks! Just a great impression on a "out of townee". Our waitress was really nice as are most MI ppl. I didn't realize their "other" decor in the back until I went to the bathroom which is definitely not consistent to the front of the restaurant. The highlight was the Irish Coffee for $3 if you like drinks that are supposed to have some alcohol that you can't taste. The fact of the matter is that the Eastwood Towne Center (and just so you know "Towne" is not a word.) is what Michiganders think of as "upscale". Sadly they don't have a clue. Banana Republic and Forever 21 is hardly upscale. For the same price you can go to a " not chain" restaurant. in New York City that is moderate but highly tasteful. I know its a bad comparison but people didn't spend all that money on crappy chains they could afford a trip to the Big Apple where they can get real food that is not scientifically measured and prepared for the masses. Honestly the food is not bad but its a American rip off, true Irish people would laugh at this menu.

Come to Lansing occasionally to visit MSU grad school daughter. This was our first time here. We had driven by several times and had always wanted it give it a try but were a little leery after reading some of the reviews here on Yelp. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The decor and atmosphere are very attractive. We were promptly seated and attended. Contrary to some of the reviews here, the menu selection seemed quite good and the prices were not as bad as I was led to believe. I had the Jameson burger, which was a burger with a whiskey based sauce, cheese sauce and fried onion straws. Delicious. Wife and daughter had Fish Sandwich and Chips which they very much enjoyed. For dessert the bread pudding with whiskey sauce, which was killer. Overall a very nice experience. We will be returning.

Went last night for a late night bite to eat. #1 The bar master Josiah was really awesome, attentive and honest. Not to mention he really knew his brews! I love that. #2 The food was phenomenal. I had been here (happily) before but for some reason it seemed even better this time around. So hats off to the chef last night. (9/20/15) #3 The Monte Cristo is out of this world. Probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Save the Fish and Chips for your second visit :) Cheers.

This is a chain restaurant and I underestimated it. I've seen the Claddagh in many predominantly white, upper middle class neighborhoods. I expect a blah menu from places like this: Champs, Bahama Breeze, Beni Hana, Max and Erma's because they are all American middle class mainstays and cater to a certain crowd. I've been corrected. The Claddagh has Whiskey, Bourbon and Scotch flights. I'm won over! Most importantly their menu is not typical American dining. They have some traditional meals like shepherds pie and ruebens but also some things I've never heard of and ingredients I've never tried. I ordered a special pork dish on a small bread round that was sauced and seasoned well. It is an appetizer but I was complete with it. I also took several fork dives of my friends brussels sprout and bacon. We ordered a second one. It was delicious. The prices are fair, the outside deck is inviting and comfortable. The inside of the bar is also well decorated and sizable enough to accommodate a real Friday night crowd in the colder seasons. I felt welcomed and the service was genuine and friendly. Try them out, you'll be happy.

Food was very plain and bland. Scottish eggs app was neat but a bit pricey for 2 eggs. Burger wasn't that great which was surprising since bar burgers tend to have a tasty juicy greasy rep but this one failed. Irish breakfast had quite the variety but sadly everything had no flavor. Fish and chips disappointed as well. I did enjoy the pub chips. The environment is cozy though. Had a nice spot right by the fireplace.

I was looking for an irish pub in the Lansing area and found this place! When I came across their website, I found out that they had Irish Whisky specials every Wed night. AKA "Whisky Wednesday". Everytime I am in town on a Wed night I will stop in for a $3 shot of Tullamore Dew and a Boddingtons on draft. For what you get, prices are reasonable. I have only had a meal here once so far, and of course I had to try the sheppards pie! It was really tasty and hearty, just what you want when you order such a meal. Overall no complaints at all. A great Irish pub hidden in the camouflage of a shopping area.

From a completely food based review, this place drops the ball. A friend of mine was really excited to try this place out (not quite sure why) and wanted me to come with them. I begrudgingly agreed (mostly due to the fact that they were paying). When you come in, it definitely has the Pub feeling, only maybe a little nicer. My friend and I sat in the back, which was kind of dark and dingy (I really didn't mind). Looking over the menu, it seemed to be about as Irish as PF Changs is Chinese. I decided to go with the meatloaf. The meatloaf wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't overwhelming. And for the price you're paying, I could think of 15 places off the top of my head that would be better, and more filling. Perhaps it's just my penchant for rating chain restaurants low, but even for a chain restaurant this place rates pretty low. If you're going in for a drink, expect to pay them Eastwood Towne Center prices.

The Claddagh was a staple spot for us when it was first built in the Eastwood Towne Center. It's a beautiful place with an authentic Irish pub-type atmosphere (i've been to Dublin, and it's close enough). The food WHEN IT FIRST OPENED was absolutely great, especially for a chain. There wasn't anything on the menu that I had that wasn't good, but the monaghan meatloaf melt was absolutely the best! I loved all the authentic Irish dishes, and was particularly impressed with the fish and chips and the shepherd's pie. The alcohol was relatively cheap, considering the area and the clientele, and there was a great selection of good scotches and Irish whiskeys available. Flash forward to present day. They have a few of their old dishes left, but they have laid waste to their menu and put a lot of typical focus-group chain restaurant junk on it. Their recent "summer menu" was so bad I ended up just getting a couple of apps instead of a real meal. They still have a good selection of scotches and Irish Whiskeys, but their pours are flat out anemic. They might as well just spritz alcohol into the glass with a Primitine Mist vial. I realize that controlling your pours at restaurants and bars is a good way to watch your bottom line, but damn. It's went too far in the other direction. The one constant at the place since it's opened has been the inconsistent service. I have had both great and terrible servers over the few years it's been open, probably due to high turnover. I have been there lots, and it seems like a different crew there every time I walk in the place. On the MacSandleberg Scale (Superfly, Fly, Hella Dope, Dope, Whack, Wiggity Whack, Wiggity Wiggity Wiggity Whack), I give it a "DOPE", only because I have had more positive experiences there than negative. However, they need to stop fucking with the menu so much and they need to start pouring more alcohol into their glasses.

Claddagh has finally returned (for the most part) to the menu that made it so good prior to 2009, about which time they foolishly tried forcing authentic minced chicken meatloaf on mid-West chain restaurant patrons. Revisiting the old menu was a good move, but the service and quality are still not up to snuff. I give them 2 stars for taking customer feedback seriously. I am hopeful they'll return to the glory days of the Monaghan Meatloaf Melt eventually.

Hmmm little Irish pub in the shopping mecca in East Lansing combined pleasant, friendly service & good food today = yum! The Spinach Artichoke Chicken sandwich is an interesting and delicious item. Today's Tomato Bisque soup is of the canned kind (I've tasted it at other places & I'm sure I could find it at my grocery store) but still tasted good. Try their fries which taste like Cheddar & Sour Cream chips but on a deliciously cooked potato wedge! Sitting on the outdoor patio on a warm summer day made the lunch even more pleasant...

Although this is a chain restaurant, it is one of only two in Michigan and it is especially notable because they pour a mean Guinness, and I am a Guinness FREAK. I love all sorts of dark beers, but my heart belongs to Guinness and some good Guinness head. So when my friend Ryan told me that they were expert Guinness pourers, I was excited to try it out. I didn't get that far though, because I stuffed myself with bar food. I actually went a different route and ordered a Harps mixed with lemonade (a lemon Shandy). It sounds weird but it is actually good and refreshing. It is totally a mimosa for the pub soul. We came here because we wanted a non-crowded place to watch the Piston's Eastern Conference finals. They were really nice and even gave me all romaine lettuce when I asked for it in my salad. They undercooked my food but were awesome about bringing it back for me. It's not spectacular in the food respect, but as for Guinness lovers, it won't be a waste checking this place out.

Great fish and chips! Crowded, had to wait 40 min for a table. Server very nice and professional, but brought our dinners before we received any silverware. Had to wait nearly 8 minutes while the food in front of us was getting cold. My brother, who was visiting from out of state, enjoyed it there, he's a beer-drinker. We were seated in a small booth, which was okay for four, but would have liked more elbow room. I liked it, but it was noisy. I would go back again.

I went here on a Friday night and had about a 20 minute wait - not bad! The food is pretty good pub food. I had the calamari to start, which was quite delicious/addictive. The monte cristo was my meal, and it was great - I would go back there just for that sandwich!! Dessert was good, but somewhat of a let down - the SO and I ordered a flourless chocolate cake; we received what appeared to be a microwaved, very fudgy brownie. Don't get me wrong - it was tasty, but not as awe-inspiring as we hoped. Service was prompt and friendly ()taking orders, refilling water and soda before they hit bottom, replacing napkins), which deserves note given that it was very, very crowded. The neat thing was the sour cream and onion fries (imagine taking the flavor from a Lay's Sour Cream and Onion Chip and adding it to a real potato)

i like the food here and also the variety, its a big of a change with some weird things like a meat loaf sandwich and other odd , but good choices. the fish and chips are great here, best thing on the menu and best fish n chips for miles. atmosphere is pretty cool with a lot of the decorations, painting, etc coming from ireland(supposedly). they got some good irish beers on tap like guiness, harp, smithwick's and more. not cheap but not hugely expensive.

Maybe my expectations were set too high. I orders a chicken spinach sandwich of some sort that came with pub fries. The fries were the star of the meal-- The chicken was dry and the sandwich lacked flavor. I should've ordered the fish and chips(like everyone else). Unless my next meal is close to free I won't be returning.

Yes, yet another chain restaurant review but I cannot deny the fact that I loved this place when I lived in East Lansing. The decor at the Eastwood Towne Center location is beautiful with it's half-moon archways, roaring fireplaces and exposed brick walls. These definitely give Claddagh's an Irish pub feel... or at least what I imagine the pubs to feel like since I've never been to Ireland. :-) I've had a number of menu items at Claddagh's. All of them good, some of them memorable. For starters, we always enjoyed ordering the Fried Onion Rings, which were hula hoop sized onion rings. Okay, maybe not that big but they were really large. So crispy and so delicious! For lunch, I'd say that the Monte Cristo sandwich is a good pick. It's your traditional (and lovely) Monte Cristo sandwich, but battered and deep fried. Please note that I did not say it was the healthiest option! For dinner, I've had the Fish and Chips, Shepard's Pie, Bangers and Mash, and the Irish Beef Stew. Of all these, my favorite has always been the beef stew because I simply LOVE beef stew of any kind. For dessert, I've had the Bread Pudding, which was good but not mind-blowing. An item not on the menu but worth mentioning is their Potato and Ham Soup. This was always a nice soup to have when it got cold out. It's very rich and hearty, a good one for those that like ham. Overall, I know it's a chain but I would likely continue to go to Claddagh's if I lived in the area and had a hankering for a hearty meal!

I'd sort of give them a 2.5. The beer list was outstanding, and the rooms were comfortable. However, I was unimpressed with the food - had some apps with a group and the mac and cheese (I was looking for something other than meat and fried fish). Went here to watch Monday night football. Last call was at 10:27pm, two minutes into the third quarter (Yelp said it was open until 1am.). Not a place to go if you want to watch sports. Update: tried to go back a couple days later after a wedding when Yelp said it was the only place open around us. Got there at 12:25am, Yelp said they were open until 2:00am. Doors were locked. Yelp definitely needs to update the hours of operation.

This place was a gem when it opened years ago. It was alive and full of character. Now it's kind of just the final choice when everyone can't decide on where to eat--because it's there. I reluctantly return here about twice a year. Every time I find the beer selection lackluster (it's an Irish restaurant for God's sake), the staff seeming like they're there 'cause they have to be and, nearly always, some cutback to the food. The Monday fish and chips BOGO may be what keeps the place running. Note that the once awesome chips have been replaced with some bland kind that may have come from the grocery freezer. Gone are the little touches like seasoning on top of the special sour cream etc etc. The waitstaff is sometimes polite and sometimes competent. Tonight the person serving the food never brought back what was asked of them, the waitress came back and forth three times to get the bill right and, well, basically I'm consistently underwhelmed. Look elsewhere unless no one can agree on dinner. Cause that's about what it's worth.

The reason I give Claddagh's three stars is not because their food isn't good, it is. The service was also exceptional. But, you are looking at $20 minimum for a meal that might leave you hungry an hour later.

Had I yelped this place two or three years ago, it may have been a 4 or 5 star review. Sadly, it seems, this place gets worse and worse every time I come in. The managers and staff seem to be those who might frequent Rick's and drink primarily jaeger bombs and miller lite. The staff is generally too busy talking with each other to actually give you proper service. The bar keeps trying gimmicky things to bring younger college kids in and that's just not their demographic, try as they might. Bright spots for this pub is the ambiance, the decent selection of beer, and the fact that they are a soccer bar. The food is pretty good, but a bit overpriced. I've only rarely been disappointed in a dish I've been served. This place has potential to be great, but they're choosing not to be.

This is a decent Irish Pub practically across the street from the Courtyard Marriott in Lansing. I got the standard Fish and Chips and was pleased but not blown away. It came with one large piece of beer battered cod and a small side of fries. I was shocked to see this meal on a plate and not a basket, but that's really not important. Anyway, my coworker raved about her meatloaf sandwich, and I must admit it looked pretty tasty. For two girls born in the south, that was a surprisingly "down home" item on the menu. Stop in if you're in the area. The beer list is pretty local, and probably the place's best feature.

I'm surprised this place doesn't have better reviews. I came here with my dad for dinner and we both really enjoyed it. We had the scotch eggs which I think were overpriced but tasty (you can really taste the sage). I was not impressed with Claddagh. 1. They were out of Manger's cider, and when the server offered me a different type of cider and I accepted, he definitely gave me a beer instead of a cider. 2. They were out of bread for the table. 3. Half of our group ordered fish and chips, and they all came cold. 4. The menu is misleading. The shepherd's pie boasts "root vegetables." The only root vegetable inside my shepherd's pie was a singular carrot. Don't say "root vegetables" if it's just carrots. Just say carrots. 5. Service was very VERY slow. I was sad, because this was my sister's graduation dinner, and it was obvious that most, if not all of us were disappointed.

I definitely feel like I romanticize this place more when I haven't been there in a while. And then I go and realize why it's just meh. But it has some meaning for me as it was the first place off campus that I dined at during college. Maybe I haven't gone at a good time -- I've never been there when they play Irish music. In the back dining room -- not the bar -- the decor is a bit outdated, and our booth/table had two mismatching chairs. There's this nook area in the back where you sit in a booth that's elevated into this ... nook. well, there was all sorts of crap there, like paint buckets and such. Not exactly things you want to be looking at while you eat. I also don't find the food particularly memorable other than their potato wedges/fries that are seasoned well. I also wish they'd offer some of their lunch items during dinner. Feel like it's common for restaurants to do that, and charge a bit more. But they do have a good happy hour, and the patio -- if you can get a spot -- is probably the best part.

Beautiful interior...but overall just a run of the mill chain pub. Drinks are average priced and poured not necesarily strong, but strong enough to not warrant a complaint. I can't claim to have an extensive knowledge of Claddagh's menu. That's because every time I go there, I am unable to avoid ordering the fish and chips. I love this menu item. The beer-battered filet is large and tender, and the "pub fries" (potato wedges) are nicely seasoned. It also comes with cole slaw which isn't too bad. Ordered with a glass of Boddington's Pale Ale and I'm a happy camper. I don't leave hungry, that's for sure. About the only negative I can recall from our many visits is that on occasion, the service seemed to be a little shaky. At times I've wondered if they schedule enough wait staff, though they are always pleasant to deal with.

Not the greatest food and even worse service. The only reason I didn't rate Claddagh with One Star is because I can't help but love the decor! Although the stools around the bar are kind of awkward, especially when you're petite. I can only imagine how difficult they would be to balance on if you were obese... My first experience at Claddagh was okay. Both of my guests and my food were on the cold side. Our waitress was present to start, but her service dwindled during our stay. My second (and last) experience was horrific. We went mid-afternoon and for once, Claddagh was not even halfway to maximum capacity. That didn't matter though... our waiter was basically a ghost. He also served both of us the wrong meals after an hour and a half of waiting with no apology. Mine was pretty edible, but my boyfriend was served some sort of unknown meat (was it a veggie burger?) on a single bun... it was difficult to swallow. We decided to stick around for dessert. I ordered their cheesecake bowl... It tasted like curdled sour milk and lemon. I took two bites and felt extremely nauseas. I love the idea of Claddagh, and I think they have a lot of potential... they just need to get their shnits together. The only way I will go back is if someone invites me out for drinks there... the bar really looks like the last acceptable part of this restaurant.

Went here on a Monday because of their buy one get one free fish and chips deal. My husband and I were excited to save some money, and still get delicious food. We sat down, and ordered the fish and chips, and asked for water to drink, because we don't like to spend $3.00 on a pop. The waitress told us that the fish and chips deal only works if you both order pop or something else that costs money. So a $15.99 order turned into $20 due to this. The sign outside says nothing about having to order pop, or a beverage that costs, with the fish and chips, and I hate being misled. Also, you get one piece of fish, and a handful of chips. For $15.99. Granted, the piece of fish is as long as the plate, but if I'm going to spend that kind of money on one dish, I'll go somewhere where I can drink what I want. Not coming back.

Since it's in Eastwood, this place is always crowded. Still, I love to go there and enjoy a great plate of fish and chips. It's a popular meeting spot for out-of-town guests with good reason. Everything is well prepared, and the price isn't all that expensive for a decent night out. Entrees range from $8 to $20. My own recommendations are, of course, Fish and Chips, Monte Cristo sandwich, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and the Clam Chowder soup. Oh, and if you're a beer lover, it's easy to find heaven in a glass, or a bottle.

I drove up to EL from Chicago to visit my sister last weekend, and after a long day of driving and shopping and walking around, I was craving Fish and Chips. My sister didn't really know where to go but then a light bulb went off and she remembered this place by her apartment. We didn't get to Claddagh until 8:30pm and it was not very busy. Being a Wednesday, I wasn't expecting a pub to be too crowded. We were seated in the Library, which was perfect since my little sister wants to be a librarian. The decor was super cute, very homey and welcoming. The TVs at the bar were playing Football. EUROPEAN Football, mind you. Very authentic, if you ask me. Later on in the night there was live Irish music. My sister and I ordered identical meals- Guinness Onion Soup and Fish and Chips. I also ordered a Newcastle, since I am new to the dark beer community and didn't feel quite ready to go full Guinness. The soup was, in a word, AMAZING. The cheese was all stretchy, just like it should be. The onions were plentiful and thick cut. Yum Yum Yum. The fish and chips were not what I expected, but it was a good thing! I was expecting your run of the mill Bennigans type battered chunks with normal fries. This was one HUGE fillet atop a giant serving of seasoned chips. My sister and I joked that if we put our meals together we'd have a whole fish. It was too much for either of us to finish, but it was just as delicious reheated the next day. Our server was alright- she was very nice but we did go a long time without seeing her. She was enthusiastic, though, and genuinely happy to hear that we were enjoying ourselves. We liked Claddagh so much that my sister made dinner reservations there to celebrate her graduation in a few weeks! Can't wait to come back, and I wish they had one close to home!!

I have to agree with some earlier reviews that the Claddagh has taken a step back. I used to come all the time and really enjoy it. When I went yesterday I was shocked to he handed a single open faced menu. A few app selections, a few salads, and an average amount of entrees. Driving into Eastwood on a Saturday night you can usually expect a big crowd. I saw the crowd at Bravo and Mitchell's as usual but not at Claddagh. I sat outside which was almost full, and thought the inside was the same. After the meal I stopped in to use the restroom and the place was empty. It would be generous to say there were 15 people in the whole place at 9pm on a Saturday night. A plus is that they still have the clam chowder which is one of my favorites. I thought our waitress was also pretty good although she did forget to bring out one item but just took it off the bill. I got the meatloaf (MA! THE MEATLOAF!) and liked it. It was unlike any meatloaf I've ever had. It was two almost scoops, wrapped in bacon and topped with a spicy mustard. The veggies and mashed potatoes were what you'd expect, just average. If Claddagh can go back to their old menu and re-attract the customers looking for the most authentic Irish experience, I think they can move up to a 4/5 no problem, but for now they are just A-OK.

This is an amazing pub! I've never had a bad meal here. The staff is friendly and the establishment is warm and inviting. Some nights its a bit of a wait to get a seat but its well worth it. I suggest that you ask for Cassy to be your server provided she's working.

Caught a movie with friends at NCG on a Saturday night and stopped into Claddagh's for dinner afterwards. First, parking was obnoxious. If the rest of the experience were positive, this might be a non-issue; unfortunately for Claddagh, it was just the beginning. Second, the service was horrendous. Almost (but not quite) the worst service I've ever had in Lansing. Our waitress completely ignored me while taking drink orders, didn't ask about entree options (the menu stated a choice between wedges and mac&cheese), and was virtually non-existent between taking our order and delivering our check. Third, the price was high for the kind of food offered. Their specialty is fish & chips, but $14 seems a little steep for pub food. I tried the Shamrock chicken sandwich (~$10). It was flavorful, but the chicken breast covered less than half of the bun. One friend ordered the Shepard's Pie (~$14), which was not tasty. The other two ordered the fish sandwich (~$10) and the Chicken Kildare (~$14), both of which seemed satisfying. Overall, I wouldn't avoid Claddagh's in the future, but I definitely won't be suggesting another visit. There are much tastier restaurants in the Lansing area that cost much less and include much better service.

We went to the Claddagh after seeing a movie since we were all hungry. We got in and were seated at two tables. The chairs are the most uncomfortable chairs in the history of the universe. Every table they have is bar-height, so the chairs were too tall for me to rest my feet on the floor (and I'm almost six feet tall), but the cross supports were so high I had to scrunch up in the fetal position just to sit on these torture devices. Plus, even with three of us to a table, we were squished together like sardines. I have never been more physically uncomfortable in a restaurant in my life. So we look at the menu. Okay, fish and chips, what...thirteen dollars?! Are you kidding?! Seriously, fish and chips are supposed to be a cheap meal. It's fried fish and french fries, how difficult is that? Anyway, fish and chips are really the only "irish" thing I saw on the menu. No shepard's pie, no cabbage stew, oh but there's CURRY CHICKEN! Yeah, because that's what I want when I go to an Irish restaurant! CURRY CHICKEN! Oh and a BURGER, because that is, like SO IRISH, right? The more I looked at the menu, the more I realized that the word "Irish" on the sign apparently only referred to the fact that they have a lot of old Guinness signs and shamrocks hanging on the wall, because that was just about the only thing "Irish" about this place. I ordered the monte cristo sandwich. I'd never had one before, so I had no idea what it was supposed to taste like. I was not impressed. It was two slices of french toast topped with powdered sugar, which flew everywhere in a noxious cloud every time I touched it. The sugar/salt combination in the sandwich itself was balanced perfectly, in fact it was balanced SO perfectly it had no flavor at all! None whatsoever! It literally tasted like nothing! Disappointed by my sandwich, I tried my wife's curry chicken. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be: weak. The spice had a delayed reaction, but it was ultimately a disappointment. Being a Grand Rapids native and familiar with our excellent british/irish pub restaurants such as the Black Rose (RIP), Mulligan's, and Graydon's Crossing, I can't say I liked anything about Claddagh. This place is a low-rent Applebee's in disguise. No more Irish than a redneck in a guinness t-shirt. Hell, Bennigan's is more authentic. Plus, they added an automatic 18% gratuity to our bill even though we had less than 8 people in our party and it was the early afternoon. What a bunch of schmucks!

If you like Irish food, this is no longer the place for you. Their menu changes each time I go, and I half expect the servers to tell me that the menu has changed in the amount of time it has taken me to select one of their faux Irish items. Since opening, they've all but turned into a chili's. One of my companions ordered a bbq Bacon burger, one ordered pesto topped fish, and I ordered the "corner beef cabbage and potato stack." A bland, sad gravy was poured over the entire mess that tasted like it came straight out of a jar. The corner beef tasted more like roast beef (i've had better corner beef in an airport). The service, however, was excellent. Our waitress was the only thing keeping me from giving this place a single star.

One of my favorite restaurants (even though it's a chain) in East Lansing. I'll miss you when I leave. I'm here at least once a month. I've only tried about 1/8 of the menu but everything I've had has been great especially their potato wedges and appetizers. Fish and chips are one of the best in EL but can be greasy. Lately, my favorite item to get has been the Brian Boru Steak Salad, the Chicken Tenders, or Meatloaf Melt. Service is generally good but we're usually here late on a weeknight when it's kinda dead. Their kitchen is open until 11pm Mon-Thurs which is great when you have night class until 8-9pm. Actually just came here tonight (Tues) and discovered it was student night and got a 20% discount. That's just more reason to come on Tues!

Was looking for some good fish and chips and was very pleased by the entree here at the Claddagh. The portion was huge and very tasty. The "chips" left a little to be desired, but I was there for the fish mostly, so wasn't too disappointed. The Monte Cristo also gets rave reviews. The interior is very inviting with giant wood beams, some great stone fireplaces, and had a very authentic feel. Being an Irish pub, the beer selection has all the usual suspects, Guiness, Harp, Smithwick's, Bodington's, etc. My only problem was with the service. It took quite some time to get a server after we were seated. It seemed a little disorganized like no one knew whose table it was supposed to be. And we had already gotten our drinks from the bar, so they may have thought some one else had taken our order...Anyway, even after finally getting someone's attention, she wasn't too attentive for the duration of the meal.

The few times I've been here, the food and service has been excellent. It's a nice place to stop in after shopping, celebrate an important event, have a nice dinner with a good friend, or go for a date. It's casual dining, but the restaurant is nice enough where it wouldn't be weird to dress up a bit for dinner. My favorite is the Monte Cristo (or the heart attack on a plate), but the fish and chips are also very good. They have an excellent drink menu with old favorites and original drinks. It's a little pricey, but you get a lot of food, and the atmosphere is great, so I can't complain.

Great eclectic Irish pub. Plenty of comfort food, ample selection of draft beer, and friendly service. The terrace fills up early during warm weather, so come early. During the winter, a variety of live performers entertain the bar crowds.

Claddagh is a chain restaurant that I can actually stand. In spirit of being an Irish pub, it is all wooden and sweet. The bar calls you to drink beer. I love the spinach artichoke chicken sandwich and the pub chips that come with the entree. So yummy! It also helps that they serve up Hooegarden, draft style here. So, if you are in Eastwood Towne Center and want some yummy bar food, this is a good choice.

Now, this is a review based off only one visit, however, I thought the food was fabulous. One of my friends treated I and two others to dinner here; his family makes it a point to eat there when they visit because they think it's that good. I had fish and chips, one of my friends had a chicken dish, another had a pot pie or shepherd's pie, and my other friend had something else (I admit, I don't remember). Everyone really enjoyed their food. Our waitress was a little inattentive, but we were in an odd place, I admit. The "magic night" thing was a little over the top, but it wasn't a minus. All in all, a good place to eat, with some great food. Then again, I don't drink and it was a Wednesday night, so this is a food review, not much else.

When your waitress uses the word "lame" to describe recent changes to the menu, you know you're in a little trouble. The food was fine, though a bit bland, and mostly unremarkable. However, there are better dining options in the same area as this one... you may be better off eating there.

I love this place and wish they would have one near me now. I enjoy their food and their drink selection. It's a great Irish resteraunt located in the Eastwood shopping center so it's surrounded by shops and a movie theatre. You could go to dinner and then pop over to see a movie. During the busy times, you can put your name down and shop a little while you wait. The waiters are all really nice here and the decor is meant to look like you walked into a Irish bar. It's got great wooden booths and nice dinning tables. I came here many times and had great service and food here. My fiance enjoyed their beer selection here and their bar makes great drinks. Definatly check this place out for a drink with friends or a great meal by the fireplace. :)

it's a bit pricey, but the food is good and they know how to pour a guinness. in the style of an irish pub, the interior is big, thick, and wooden, which i find pleasant. still, the price tag and yuppie customers keep me from spending too much time there. it's in the eastwood town center.

Your typical Irish Pub in a box. It was pretty good though. I loved my beer battered fish and garlic potato wedges. The man had beef stew...which was kinda small and just OK. We were seated in the crappiest spot...a tiny table near the door. Gee thanks! Just a great impression on a "out of townee". Our waitress was really nice as are most MI ppl. I didn't realize their "other" decor in the back until I went to the bathroom which is definitely not consistent to the front of the restaurant. The highlight was the Irish Coffee for $3 if you like drinks that are supposed to have some alcohol that you can't taste. The fact of the matter is that the Eastwood Towne Center (and just so you know "Towne" is not a word.) is what Michiganders think of as "upscale". Sadly they don't have a clue. Banana Republic and Forever 21 is hardly upscale. For the same price you can go to a " not chain" restaurant. in New York City that is moderate but highly tasteful. I know its a bad comparison but people didn't spend all that money on crappy chains they could afford a trip to the Big Apple where they can get real food that is not scientifically measured and prepared for the masses. Honestly the food is not bad but its a American rip off, true Irish people would laugh at this menu.

Come to Lansing occasionally to visit MSU grad school daughter. This was our first time here. We had driven by several times and had always wanted it give it a try but were a little leery after reading some of the reviews here on Yelp. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The decor and atmosphere are very attractive. We were promptly seated and attended. Contrary to some of the reviews here, the menu selection seemed quite good and the prices were not as bad as I was led to believe. I had the Jameson burger, which was a burger with a whiskey based sauce, cheese sauce and fried onion straws. Delicious. Wife and daughter had Fish Sandwich and Chips which they very much enjoyed. For dessert the bread pudding with whiskey sauce, which was killer. Overall a very nice experience. We will be returning.

Went last night for a late night bite to eat. #1 The bar master Josiah was really awesome, attentive and honest. Not to mention he really knew his brews! I love that. #2 The food was phenomenal. I had been here (happily) before but for some reason it seemed even better this time around. So hats off to the chef last night. (9/20/15) #3 The Monte Cristo is out of this world. Probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Save the Fish and Chips for your second visit :) Cheers.

This is a chain restaurant and I underestimated it. I've seen the Claddagh in many predominantly white, upper middle class neighborhoods. I expect a blah menu from places like this: Champs, Bahama Breeze, Beni Hana, Max and Erma's because they are all American middle class mainstays and cater to a certain crowd. I've been corrected. The Claddagh has Whiskey, Bourbon and Scotch flights. I'm won over! Most importantly their menu is not typical American dining. They have some traditional meals like shepherds pie and ruebens but also some things I've never heard of and ingredients I've never tried. I ordered a special pork dish on a small bread round that was sauced and seasoned well. It is an appetizer but I was complete with it. I also took several fork dives of my friends brussels sprout and bacon. We ordered a second one. It was delicious. The prices are fair, the outside deck is inviting and comfortable. The inside of the bar is also well decorated and sizable enough to accommodate a real Friday night crowd in the colder seasons. I felt welcomed and the service was genuine and friendly. Try them out, you'll be happy.

Food was very plain and bland. Scottish eggs app was neat but a bit pricey for 2 eggs. Burger wasn't that great which was surprising since bar burgers tend to have a tasty juicy greasy rep but this one failed. Irish breakfast had quite the variety but sadly everything had no flavor. Fish and chips disappointed as well. I did enjoy the pub chips. The environment is cozy though. Had a nice spot right by the fireplace.

I was looking for an irish pub in the Lansing area and found this place! When I came across their website, I found out that they had Irish Whisky specials every Wed night. AKA "Whisky Wednesday". Everytime I am in town on a Wed night I will stop in for a $3 shot of Tullamore Dew and a Boddingtons on draft. For what you get, prices are reasonable. I have only had a meal here once so far, and of course I had to try the sheppards pie! It was really tasty and hearty, just what you want when you order such a meal. Overall no complaints at all. A great Irish pub hidden in the camouflage of a shopping area.

From a completely food based review, this place drops the ball. A friend of mine was really excited to try this place out (not quite sure why) and wanted me to come with them. I begrudgingly agreed (mostly due to the fact that they were paying). When you come in, it definitely has the Pub feeling, only maybe a little nicer. My friend and I sat in the back, which was kind of dark and dingy (I really didn't mind). Looking over the menu, it seemed to be about as Irish as PF Changs is Chinese. I decided to go with the meatloaf. The meatloaf wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't overwhelming. And for the price you're paying, I could think of 15 places off the top of my head that would be better, and more filling. Perhaps it's just my penchant for rating chain restaurants low, but even for a chain restaurant this place rates pretty low. If you're going in for a drink, expect to pay them Eastwood Towne Center prices.

The Claddagh was a staple spot for us when it was first built in the Eastwood Towne Center. It's a beautiful place with an authentic Irish pub-type atmosphere (i've been to Dublin, and it's close enough). The food WHEN IT FIRST OPENED was absolutely great, especially for a chain. There wasn't anything on the menu that I had that wasn't good, but the monaghan meatloaf melt was absolutely the best! I loved all the authentic Irish dishes, and was particularly impressed with the fish and chips and the shepherd's pie. The alcohol was relatively cheap, considering the area and the clientele, and there was a great selection of good scotches and Irish whiskeys available. Flash forward to present day. They have a few of their old dishes left, but they have laid waste to their menu and put a lot of typical focus-group chain restaurant junk on it. Their recent "summer menu" was so bad I ended up just getting a couple of apps instead of a real meal. They still have a good selection of scotches and Irish Whiskeys, but their pours are flat out anemic. They might as well just spritz alcohol into the glass with a Primitine Mist vial. I realize that controlling your pours at restaurants and bars is a good way to watch your bottom line, but damn. It's went too far in the other direction. The one constant at the place since it's opened has been the inconsistent service. I have had both great and terrible servers over the few years it's been open, probably due to high turnover. I have been there lots, and it seems like a different crew there every time I walk in the place. On the MacSandleberg Scale (Superfly, Fly, Hella Dope, Dope, Whack, Wiggity Whack, Wiggity Wiggity Wiggity Whack), I give it a "DOPE", only because I have had more positive experiences there than negative. However, they need to stop fucking with the menu so much and they need to start pouring more alcohol into their glasses.

Claddagh has finally returned (for the most part) to the menu that made it so good prior to 2009, about which time they foolishly tried forcing authentic minced chicken meatloaf on mid-West chain restaurant patrons. Revisiting the old menu was a good move, but the service and quality are still not up to snuff. I give them 2 stars for taking customer feedback seriously. I am hopeful they'll return to the glory days of the Monaghan Meatloaf Melt eventually.

Hmmm little Irish pub in the shopping mecca in East Lansing combined pleasant, friendly service & good food today = yum! The Spinach Artichoke Chicken sandwich is an interesting and delicious item. Today's Tomato Bisque soup is of the canned kind (I've tasted it at other places & I'm sure I could find it at my grocery store) but still tasted good. Try their fries which taste like Cheddar & Sour Cream chips but on a deliciously cooked potato wedge! Sitting on the outdoor patio on a warm summer day made the lunch even more pleasant...

Although this is a chain restaurant, it is one of only two in Michigan and it is especially notable because they pour a mean Guinness, and I am a Guinness FREAK. I love all sorts of dark beers, but my heart belongs to Guinness and some good Guinness head. So when my friend Ryan told me that they were expert Guinness pourers, I was excited to try it out. I didn't get that far though, because I stuffed myself with bar food. I actually went a different route and ordered a Harps mixed with lemonade (a lemon Shandy). It sounds weird but it is actually good and refreshing. It is totally a mimosa for the pub soul. We came here because we wanted a non-crowded place to watch the Piston's Eastern Conference finals. They were really nice and even gave me all romaine lettuce when I asked for it in my salad. They undercooked my food but were awesome about bringing it back for me. It's not spectacular in the food respect, but as for Guinness lovers, it won't be a waste checking this place out.

Great fish and chips! Crowded, had to wait 40 min for a table. Server very nice and professional, but brought our dinners before we received any silverware. Had to wait nearly 8 minutes while the food in front of us was getting cold. My brother, who was visiting from out of state, enjoyed it there, he's a beer-drinker. We were seated in a small booth, which was okay for four, but would have liked more elbow room. I liked it, but it was noisy. I would go back again.

I went here on a Friday night and had about a 20 minute wait - not bad! The food is pretty good pub food. I had the calamari to start, which was quite delicious/addictive. The monte cristo was my meal, and it was great - I would go back there just for that sandwich!! Dessert was good, but somewhat of a let down - the SO and I ordered a flourless chocolate cake; we received what appeared to be a microwaved, very fudgy brownie. Don't get me wrong - it was tasty, but not as awe-inspiring as we hoped. Service was prompt and friendly ()taking orders, refilling water and soda before they hit bottom, replacing napkins), which deserves note given that it was very, very crowded. The place has huge TVs, so if you want to catch a game, it's no problem. But, even given the crowdedness (word?) and TVs, I could hear my dinner date. Always important. Grace

Awright, we all know Irish pubs are a good source of happiness, not so much good food. Considering I had classic pub grub (a burger), I had an overall decent food experience. The neat thing was the sour cream and onion fries (imagine taking the flavor from a Lay's Sour Cream and Onion Chip and adding it to a real potato)

i like the food here and also the variety, its a big of a change with some weird things like a meat loaf sandwich and other odd , but good choices. the fish and chips are great here, best thing on the menu and best fish n chips for miles. atmosphere is pretty cool with a lot of the decorations, painting, etc coming from ireland(supposedly). they got some good irish beers on tap like guiness, harp, smithwick's and more. not cheap but not hugely expensive.
