Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

You can always count on this location to give great service and the food is always consistent. Love the Aussie fries with the dipping sauce. The wedge salad is great with crumbled blue cheese. For steaks in GR the only place that tops Outback is Ruth Chris with 5 stars. Beyond these 2 players you need yo head across the lake to enjoy 5 star Beef!

I see that this location has gotten some bad reviews, but we had an excellent time here this evening. I ordered the steak and shrimp combo and one of their fancy drinks, and my wife ordered the seared tuna salad. Both of us cleaned our plates. My M-in-Law enjoyed her salmon. The server wisely dropped the order for our son's chicken early, and brought our drinks promptly. Portions were reasonable and my steak was cooked perfectly. Not terribly crowded on a holiday evening and we enjoyed the meal. Thanks, Outback.

Steak shrimp deal is way over priced. $25.00 for a little filet, some fries and all you can eat shrimp is not worth this amount of money. An union bloom, two dinners, we both had the same, plus two martini's was $80! My steak was over cooked and was replaced, service was ok but not good! We will not go back there!

I ate there yesterday and ordered steak and shrimp. It was terrible... I ordered a 8 Oz steak and they served me a cold 6 Oz steak. The coffee was room temperature and old. How could a server bring a customer cold coffee and not know about it! Very disappointed! This Outback has really slipped the last couple of years.

Wow this place has changed from the last time we ate there. The prices have skyrocketed, but we didn't think must of it because the meals were huge and we always left stuff. Well they changed that to, portions were 1/4 of what they were and now they charge for a salad. Granted the food wasn't awful but $15 for a small chicken breast with one strip of bacon and two cut up mushrooms is a bit much. The wife had 1/2 rack of ribs which was tough and dry. We also ordered the bloomin Onion which we did enjoy. Throw in a coke and a ice tea and we spent $45. If you think thats a fare price, this place is for you. As for me, scratch this place off the list of places to eat at. Not worth the price.

The food isn't what it used to be After things went south in 2008, Outback came roaring back with better cuts of meat and lower prices. Now it's gone the other way with much higher prices and food quality that's sub-par at best. They obviously changed suppliers and hoped that no one would notice. We noticed. For example, their ribs used to be a real hidden gem with "fall-off-the bone" tenderness. Now they're so tough you have to gnaw at each one. And they say their Aussie fries are "seasoned" when in fact, they're just loaded with salt. The Outback Special is now anything but "special". It's just poor quality meat. I guess we'll just have to wait until the next "market correction" before they bring back the good food.

The steak here is great and the desert was good. The Cobb salad was not so good. It was like a Caesar salad

I'm not sure what's going on at this particular Outback. The last several times I have eaten here my Outback Special steak has been awful. My steak have been over cooked, tough as shoe leather or both. Outback Corporate, this location needs help.

It is pricey, no salad with meal, extra. We had a gift card, otherwise we would go somewhere else. We had a bloomin onion, it was sooooo greasy. I had chicken, ok until waitress suggested some spices, great! My husband had the pork chops, he said they were fine. Our waitress was great, Jennifer S., would I go back, not necessarily, it didn't seem all that Australian! whatever that means, mate!!!

I loved our experience at Outback tonight. We walked in, a gentleman introduced himself and we were seated almost immediately. Our server was kind and thoughtful and extremely respectful. She thought of things we hadn't even considered, offering up solutions. We made a bizarre request for a pencil (my son had to finish his homework) that was met with haste. The manager came out and introduced herself at one point. The food was made exactly as ordered, it was quick, and tasted great. This was by far our best steakhouse experience in years. When we were done eating I returned the pencil to the manager, and thanked her for a great night. She gave me her business card... per the review guidelines, I'll keep her name truncated to "Amber." Super nice person. On the way out the door, the gentleman said goodnight to me and my family, and actually referred to me by my name... that's correct, he remembered my name an hour later; I was honestly awe-struck. I'll drive across town to go back to this Outback, and considering we live like 30 minutes away, that's saying a lot. I hope this skews the score back in the right direction because this was a fantastic night. Thank you!

"Why did I eat here???" Well, it was late on a Sunday night in the big GR wasteland. Food options are not pretty. Even the Panera was closed. So went here with the family. So bad. So of course you can a whole dinner with bread, two big sides (soup, salad, a million starch options), and a steak for like $9.99. Cheaper than a Tanqueray and Tonie in a NYC bar. I went for the big spender option and got the NY Strip steak, medium. It even has the special "Outback Secret Seasonings" or whatever BS they call it. No suspense: It came out with a trace of pepper and salt, and with the texture that it had been cooked in the microwave. Somehow the steak was uniformly pink all the way through, including the outside. the Pros: Its cheap. Friendly service (actually too smarmy for my taste). They had a big Oberon on draft, cheap. the Cons: The food. The other guests. The cheesy manager. Oh hell, just about everything.

Ate my favorite off menu dish, the walla holla pasta with chicken, yum! Service was pretty slow, that's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

This was always a great place to eat in the area but the quality has declined in a big way the last three times we have been there. They do not seem to be able to cook a steak to temperature. I have ordered a steak medium rare the last two times i have been there and both times the steaks came out well done. The last time they could not get it right after three tries. If you like your steak cooked well done then this would be the place to go.

Loud waitress for starters. She didn't have an inside voice! Bread plates were all dirty. There were 4 of us. Half rack ribs dry. Ribeye dry and the plate had dried juice outline of the ribeye. No seasoning at all. Huge fail on the meats. Husband ordered a half ribeye sandwich with soup. OMG the sandwich was literally 2 small bites. My mom ordered tilapia and that seemed to be the only dish of 4 that was seasoned, moist and a decent size. I suggested this place for lunch. We won't be back.

Boy, Outback Steak house steaks have really gone downhill... nowhere near as good as they used to be; Grizzle in NY Strips and Porterhouse steaks?? Subpar meat ...sorry to say, thumbs down. What a disappointment...used to be one of our favorite places - no more. Three bad experiences and you're out!

I have been to Outback many times in different states - this is the first time I have ever had to put salt on my steak to make it taste good. We ordered a well done and medium well steak. They both came back undercooked (but overcooked on the outside) as if they had the grill up too high. We sent them back and the well done came back again undercooked but we didn't want to send it back again hence it should burn. The manager said the outside was not burned it was the butter they use to cook it with that was browning the outside!!

Staff was beyond friendly went above and beyond w/ making us happy. Did not get my salad until after my dinner was served but staff did take it off my check and offered a free desert also all items that we ordered were very spicy

It's Outback Steakhouse. Just right, but not anything beyond that. Also, changing your plates to smaller ones to make it look more Bistro and hope no one notices the smaller portions: fail. Chop salad is really great, though! I usually do not single out waitstaff; but Julie was very good at her job!! She is one of those servers that knows their job and goes beyond typical service. If you visit here ask to be seated in her area and see if you agree.

There's so many things wrong with this place 1. The host was unfriendly and stood there doing nothing while half empty cups, long left by their customer, sat on every available surface. 2. While waiting (10 min more than estimated time) six waiters came to the host to say they didn't want people seated in their section. 3. We had to get napkins from the bathroom because there were none at the table and the waiter spilled and walked away. 4. Apparently a traditional wedge salad has balsamic glaze? Gross. 5. We were served stone cold shrimp. 6. The burger was gross and soaked with mustard. 7. There was a hair in my daughter's food. 8. Our waiter was too busy spouting his strange surfer lingo to listen to our orders. 9. The kids meals were six bucks! Avoid this place!! There are so many choices nearby, no need to sink to this level.

We were early on a Saturday with my mother so it wasn't too busy. Lots of older guests at this time :) (Shock!) It was surprisingly good. It's a chain so it's not gourmet. The server was really good. Blooming onion was nicely spiced. Good blue cheese pecan salad. All of us had small steaks which everyone was happy with. Their frequent diner program is connected with Carraba's, Bonefish Grill, Flemings and Roys.

It may be a chain but an excellent value. Attended w date 3-14-2015 using the call ahead about 2 hrs before our eta. After a 10 min wait (place was jammed) we were seated ahead of walk in's. My date is a scotch drinker and they had his brand! We shared a blooming onion. yum. Our was cooked perfectly and quickly. I had the sirloin n lobster special $14.50, he the filet n lobster. His French onion soup looked good n he enjoyed it. Also ordered his mashed potatoes loaded style n there was no upcharge!. I had mixed veggies n mashed potatoes. Our steaks were nicely done n the meal is accompanied by their loaf of bread which is always good. You will not go away hungry and our server, Ryan, was great as was the food runner.

Very poor service. Dishes piled up, no refills, server had a poor attitude. After speaking with the manager we can see where the attitude comes from. Terrible manager no discount, did not ask how he could make our visit better.

The food is exactly as you would expect from any other Outback. It is good, but a little on the pricier side. The service however is wonderful! I am a true believer that a server/host can make or break an experience at a restaurant. I have been here a few times and every time has been a pleasant one. The host greets you with a warm smile, and you are never waiting long for a table. The servers are helpful, attentive and kind. Although a chain restaurant, this is a great place to grab dinner with friends or family.

I had not been to outback in at least a year, and tonight I was craving a blooming onion & potato soup so I returned. Unfortunately, everything went wrong tonight. The bloomin onion was overdone, burnt to a crisp! They ran out of potato soup and so we waited forever while they "heated up a new batch" only to deliver it in a heated bowl w cold soup and icy potato chunks. We decided to give up and move to desert. The chocolate thunder from down under was delivered w a cold brownie... WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

Quick service. House salads were excellent. I especially like the mildly spicy ranch. The bread is pretty good! And free with your meal!! My filet was cooked the way I liked!! It was perfect, I always get medium well. The garlic mashed potatoes were great as always No complaints!! Not sure what everyone else is talking about regarding poorly cooked steaks...I've been going to outback for years and every time this place has done us right.

  • Josh S.

My soup was cold and I ordered my ribeye medium rare and I received it well done but was promptly replaced by a correctly cooked one and all was well and was one of the better steaks I have ever had. Sweet potato was also very delicious!
