We were greeted by a lovely girl named Kazi who helped us at the register. As we were paying, the manager Pam Nelson approached the desk and proceeded to speak with Kazi in a very disrespectful manner telling her her job was "not rocket science" and making her feel bad and look bad in front of us. I felt sorry for Kazi, as this is no way for a manager to speak with their employee, especially in the presence of paying guests. We sat down and my companion and I discussed how rude and inappropriate that situation was and I decided to speak with Pam myself and tell her how she was out of line. Pam was taken by surprise when I approached her at the register. I explained how she was disrespectful of her employee and of the guests and that Kazi deserved an apology. She promised me she would apologize and told me I was right. A little while later while we were eating (we really enjoyed the food and server) Pam approached me at the table and assured me she apologized to Kazi and thanked me for bringing it to her attention. She said her experience with Kazi was one that she was repeatedly telling Kazi how to do the same thing several times and it was frustrating. I told her to be patient and to have a better day. We enjoyed more food and on the way out I checked in with Kazi one last time and asked her if and apology was made to her. She told me no and then her and one of her co-workers that Pam "treats them like dogs". How sad. Throughout our entire meal I observed how the restaurant ran, what the employees were doing, etc. I'm in the business and am curious when I go out to eat. Kazi was always doing something. Wiping things down, greeting and interacting with guests. She was very friendly and obviously works hard. I'm disgusted with Pam's behavior especially her nerve to lie to me about the apology. We really enjoyed our experience except for our experience with your manager, Pam Nelson. She is rude and apparently doesn't care about her employees which leads me to believe Old Country Buffet does not care about its employees. Seriously, everyone there was lovely and hard working, the restaurant was clean and the food was great. Our server (Maria?) was extremely attentive and the carving station attendant was pleasant and engaging. Too bad their leader is so rotten.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is always good, home style cooking! They take the "self serve buffet" style to the extreme, no waiters/waitresses, you even have to get your own drinks. The only downside to coming here are the bussers. They are not quick to clear away empty dishes from your table or clear the empty tables for new customers. Plus they can be a bit rude.

It is a nice place to eat, but the food there cannot give me any special memory. Saturday and Sunday are more expensive than Monday to Friday. Dinner is more expensive than lunch (about $ 2.00 - 2.50). But dinner has more food, like steak. Pizza, Taco, fruit, chicken, mashed potato are the normal favor. I dislike the french fries there, because sometimes they are just soft and disgusting, like someone put some water inside. I eat there about 10 times, because I drive there in 2 minutes and sometime I am lazy to cook. BTW, ice cream and cookie are awesome!

I've eaten here three years in a row on trips to Kalamazoo. We were there Sunday morning, it wasn't too busy so we liked that. The price was decent, I was surprised that you had to pay to include a drink with the $12.99 price. I don't go to Buffet's a lot so I'm not sure if that's reasonable for the region or high. The food selection was decent for a Sunday brunch. They had an omelet station and a ham on the block for those that wanted it. They also had a taco bar, which we found highly entertaining for a Sunday morning. There were a couple of times that the trays ran out of food. I went to get some bacon and the only thing in there was crumbles. It took a while for them to replace it. The food is often bland, but then again it is a buffet and they are catering to those that like bland food. The did have a nice spice/condiment section that had various sauces and seasonings you could add to your meal to flavor it to what you like. Of course it is a buffet so it's all you can eat. But if you can only eat $8.00 worth of food, is it worth it?

I called today to get some pricing information & the girl who answered the phone was not nice. She acted like my call was an interruption of her time. She spoke so fast I couldn't understand her & when I asked her to repeat she sighed & her attitude was rude. We were planning a big birthday dinner there for Sunday, now I'm not so sure.
