We got carryout here once because my parents live nearby. It was the blandest Chinese food that I have ever eaten. Even my parents, who like bland food, thought that it was bland. Their cashew chicken was in a bland white sauce and my "spicy" dish was anything but spicy. The Chinese restaurant at the corner of Drake and West Main is much better.

We used to go here a lot for food and it is average at best. The reason I write a horrible review is because my pet peeve is delivery/take out restaurants that have unsafe delivery drivers. I was almost run over twice within a course of a half an hour in my apartment complex by the same delivery person. He had no care for the speed limit and wasn't willing to share the road with other drivers. We won't be going here any more.

Crispy Orange Chicken is by far the best and signature dish. Other reviews say its not spicy, but you have to specify spiciness, otherwise the default is not spicy for those that can't handle spiciness well. Pepper Steak is also good. Go there at dinner time dine-in and you are treated with bonus and free appetizer chips and sweet and sour sauce. Say hi to Tom.. one of the best waiters in Kalamazoo.

The food was cold and overdone upon arrival on top of being 15minutes late. I called only to be told its fresh. According to them, they did not call me a liar but I don't know what else to call what I was told. They refused to do anything to make it right.

Get the orange chicken. I've been seriously disappointed at this restaurant, but this dish is DELISH. Orange chicken with spring roll (not the egg roll- yuck), and fried rice. Perfect amount of sweetness and spice. Good.

The GWoC is my new go-to for cheap Chinese takeout! It's close, I'm hungry, and it's fast. 4 stars if you're going there to take it for what it is! DO come here if you: - Prefer americanized Chinese food - Want to spend less than $10 - Are cool with middle of the road taste - Appreciate quick service - Dig large portions - Like to look at goldfish So far, I've had the Bourbon Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Hunan Chicken, Fried Rice, Egg Roll, and Egg Flower Soup... I have yet to have something that truly sticks out, but it's decent! Next time, I might be trying a beef or shrimp dish.

If you're looking for fast, good takeout in the immediate area, this place is the place to go! The deliveries were on time, as promised, and the food was hot when it arrived! The delivery person was kind and polite. If you're looking for fried rice, the plain (egg) fried rice is the best, and their general tso's is also really good as an entree! The perfect amount of spicy-ness, and a decent portion when you order the dinner! Have yet to try others, as I often don't stray from things I like! Would recommend to others looking for good service and great food!

I ordered delivery and it arrived within the time they promised. All the food was hot and tasty. I was surprised at how much food there was. A great value and good food.

If you are an orange chicken connoisseur as I am you would know these guys don't mess around. Tastefully spicy without stretching for heat. Pair any meal from here with their crab ragoons and sit back and enjoy.

I have yet to be disappointed by carryout or delivery from this Great Wall and the one on Sprinkle Rd. in Portage. Looks like it's been a few years since the last reviews, so they must have shaped up. I usually get a combo dinner, which comes with the main dish, rice (steamed or fried), and choice of crab rangoon, soup, or egg roll as the side for around $7. Everything I've tried has had good flavor and there's always enough left over for lunch the next day. My favorites are Kung Bao Chicken w/ extra veggies for 50 cents more and the Hunan Chicken...mmmmm!

I went there for lunch today and as it came out from the kitchen, it look awesome, the plates had a heaping amount of meat and rice. Sad to say, it was awful. I had General T and wife had Chicken and Broccoli. Both dishese totally sucked with no flavor or taste. In fact, I did not even finish half my lunch. Don't waste your money and go next door to Burger King. The icing on the cake was the server, who was the only employee that I could see was rude and nasty.

I knew it was going to be a bad experience from my first taste. The Egg Drop Soup tasted like store-brand chicken broth--way too salty and nothing else worth mentioning going on. I got Szechuan Beef, which was listed in their Spicy section. As others have said, the food was bland, bland, bland. There was no spice to speak of, and the sauce was overly syrupy and starchy. My fiance got Szechuan Shrimp and said the same thing. She also said her rice tasted burnt. Were this place in a food court in a mall or an airport, I might've shrugged and said "Meh, what can you expect?" As a standalone restaurant and for $8.50 per combo, however, one can't make excuses. We pretty much ate in silence, she staring longingly at Burger King while I stared past her at Jimmy John's.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
