Best Italian food in the area. It's a small restaurant just outside of downtown Jackson. The food is excellent and the ambience of the restaurant is pretty cool. They have a small bar area in the front of the entrance with a few tables by it and then the main dining room is in back. Service is always good.

Nice local Italian restaurant. Lasagna was definitely better than the chain restaurants

Was delicious. Got the shrimp scampi and side salad. So good, dressing was clutch. Pretty big servings with reasonable prices. One bad thing was my friend got his ID turned down to get a drink because it stated on it that he was 21 until a certain date. All they had to do was look at it and see that he was 21. Other than that. Delicious.

Been going here for years, always had great food. Mom always gets the chicken sandwich(plain) and I always get the steak sandwich. They always cook everything to order and are always friendly.

Came in and asked about getting a table or even two to accommodate a party of 15. The owner acting as the host said "we are full tonight and we do not accommodate parties that large". Well, you are busy and full tonight but if you keep treating guest like this it won't last very long. Thanks!

Ordered portabella salad with roasted peppers and artichoke hearts...got one mushroom , roasted peppers and a couple artichoke hearts. Then they also put a huge pineapple in the middle with a big rosemary sprig hanging out, mandarin oranges, and star fruit all around it(not on the menu) not what I ordered, not good and the owner seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. If you want anything off the menu(chicken parmesan that is breaded or veal parmesan breaded) they can't/won't this, or make it for you . Instead , the owner made the comment," we have fried mozzarella sticks," very rude. Most small authentic Italian restaurants will see what they can do for their client to accommodate them, o r at least communicate what they can. I love to support the independent restaurants, but you can't treat people this way......unfortunate.

The food is good BUT they charge for refills on fountain pop $1.50 per glass of soda is ridiculous!!! Their excellent home made sausage is only $1 more per link. It makes me wonder what quality of meat they are using to make it that they charge that much for $.02 of pop but not much for the sausage. Otherwise the food was good and the service was friendly.

This place could have SUCH potential but the food is mediocre at best and the owner (hostess) is not accommodating to larger groups AT ALL! Even on a very rare and special occasion and situation she was not willing to even put 2 tables together so that we could all enjoy each others company. We wonder if the owners are even Italian at all! TRUE Italians understand and appreciate the importance of family "being together".

Dined here one time, and it is the last. I thought the food was mediocre. The sauce for my fettuccine alfredo was flavorless and reminded me of cheap, canned/jarred sauce that was heated up. I've been told that everything is homemade, but it seems to be lacking pride in the flavor. The venue is small, and they are not very accommodating when it comes to even groups that aren't even that big (family of 5). It was cramped, waitstaff was hardly present, drinks weren't refilled...I wasn't that huge of a fan.

Excellent. The hubs and I ate here while we were waiting for the falls at night. I had a Michigan salad (pine nuts, spring greens, feta, cherries, fried sweet potato strings...it was one of the best salads I have ever had). Lasagna was good....now, I am not one to judge lasagna because I eat little meat and it was probably half Italian sausage, and the sauce was a little acidic for me. But heck, I am a German frau... My Sicilian spouse had the shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta and said it was the best he has ever had. The bread was scrumptious. The service was beyond reproach.

When we lived in Jackson this was one of our favorite places to eat, all home made Italian, the tomato sauce is excellent, my favorite dish was spaghetti and meatballs all home made they also serve wine in old pitchers, the salad is Iceberg but the homemade dressing is excellent.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
