Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Spent to afternoons enjoying this pie, and I'd return for a third. The folks here are pretty cool and have a good sense of what make their pizza unique. The Maui Magic, Sesame Chicken, and BBQ Chicken are all delicious. The small is perfect for one hungry person. The best deal is that they will deliver to the KBC next door. The folks will actually bring your pizza into the bar and to your table. The crust can also have toppings, which are really just some seasoning, but they give the pizza a little more identity.

Have eaten in here a few times now, friendly service, and good pizza! Love the flavored crusts!

I think this is some of the best pizza in town. The crust is always crispy on the outside and chewy in the center. They're never shy with toppings and the sauce is pretty darn good too. The coolest thing about this restaurant may be that they will deliver to the local brewery next door. Local beer and fresh pizza?! That's a very easy way to start a great night. I always stop here when I'm in town and would recommend that everyone else do the same.

This place is under rated. I came here to order a 20-inch pizza for a gathering yesterday in Calumet. It turned out everyone loves the pizza. The quality of pizza is much better than the other franchises in town and I strongly recommend this especially if you are next to KBC for Friday evening.

I've edited my previous comment at the request of my SO as they were deemed "too harsh". My opinion of their pizza is not high, their sauce is bland and the crust is rather cardboard like; however, the place has many good things going for them including good hours, location, and bright open atmosphere. I'm hooked on their Greek salad and I was also disappointed to see the hot dog offering go.

Stopped in here with my brother and his family when I was home on vacation. It was pretty good pizza and I would eat more of it again, but nothing to brag about as if you won the pizza lottery or something...lol The staff were quite amazing and service was quick! We ordered, and waited for them to make the pizza and we sat inside and ate...Like I said, nothing to brag about, but still very good and I say go check them out!

Excellent taste plus service! best pizza experience! I especially enjoyed the fast delivery and the affordable price from the Houghton downtown restaurant

This pizza is terrible. The sauce is more bland than Campbell's tomato soup. And the rest of it is just as bad. You are better off eating your shoe.

  • Dan P.

Pizza came out fast and the crust and toppings I found to be spot on. The sauce lacked something and there was a little too much of it but all in all I would go back.

I have no idea how there can be ANY bad reviews on this place. I have had my fair share of pizzas, and this place is near the top of my list. First, the staff was awesome. They were so helpful in complying with my dietary restrictions offering me different ideas. I was actually referred this place by a local at KBC describing it as "the best pizza he's ever had and a crust to die for" AND that they deliver for free to the KBC. My boyfriend and I ordered it, and he was right! We also went back to the KBC plenty of times and noticed many others doing the same thing. In fact, I'm pretty sure they were voted best pizza in Houghton recently. They also give you these cards that you collect and can eventually get a free pizza. They are the coolest, and it makes me sad to see bad reviews!

Love this pizza! Got to have the flavored crust. They just opened a "Big City Eats" within Pizza Works. Coney dogs, Vollwerth's hot dogs, nachos....delicious.

  • Lisa J.

we love their pizza, always a must have when visiting. we visit Houghton once/twice a year and get the same thing every time and it's consistent. added bonus that we can take it into KBC next door.

So, you and friends go out and drink at KBC and are looking for a buzzkill. Well you don't have to search much, it's right next door. Here's how it works.... You drink a lot... Then walk over to pizza works and order a pizza...you pay up front for your pizza.. And tip em if you feel like it, which when you are wasted and hungry you definitely feel like it. Now the fine team at pizza works start getting busy. First they'll keep you waiting for your pizza for more than 30 mins (I see I was really wasted, cos I could ve gone to little ceasars and walked out with food) anyhow, they keep you tempted and hooked on by keeping it real hot in there and the smell of food. So now u start sweating all the lovely ale you had at KBC and then after about 35-40 mins when you are really getting sober... Then they let you go. I think the houghton city cops have in fact thanked them for sobering up many a drunk folks before they hit the street. Tldr; order on phone for home delivery. Don't order for pizzas in person, it takes ages and 75 home deliveries before they get to working in the customer in store.

I love their original location in Calumet & the pizza here is just as great! The service is fast and friendly, the prices are good, and the pizza is some of the best in the area. They have branched out from their original location, which in an area this small shows some real success! I've been here many times and will continue to come back!
