Their Pig Out Deal is perfect for lunch! I think it's $6 for a sandwich, side, and drink. Also, super quick service. During the summer, I came here at least once a week. I really enjoyed the friendly, speedy service, and the food was much better than the other options at a similar price point. Give Hog Wild a try!

Check for daily specials as they rotate through the week. We did a large catering order recently that featured a little bit of everything. Favorites: ribs, sweet and spicy bbq sauce and slaw (in that order). The chicken, wings and Mac n cheese were pretty standard. I need to clarify that the rib special (not rack) features a giant single rib. Almost like a rib drumstick. This was fantastic. The rack was just ok so not sure it is from the same cut. Not bad for the Holland area. We have always gotten our food to go so it is quick and convenient. Insider tip: mix the bbq sauce with the Mac n cheese and it really enhances the flavor.

Best BBQ we have found in the area. It is as good as anything I have had in the south and it is reasonably priced.

Babybacks were good but not falling off the bone which is how we like them... Good sauce, sides were ok, not much smoke flavor. We liked Jus'Ribs a little better though the atmosphere is not as nice.

I stopped in today while running some errands. Unfortunately I wasn't even hungry but knew that if I skipped lunch then by 3 p.m. I'd be really hungry and wanting to eat my supper way too early in the evening which would set me up for having a very late final meal right before going to sleep for the night. I explained my predicament to the lady working behind the counter and she informed me that unfortunately they don't have any small sandwiches since I'd asked her if they have any small sandwiches. She was nice though and did suggest maybe ordering a chowder or soup to hold me over since I wasn't too hungry. While I did appreciate her trying to work with my weird situation I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich. Yep, like she said it was not a small sandwich, not huge but not small either. The flavor of it was pretty good and I did enjoy it, but I found myself not nearly as happy as I'd been on a couple previous visits to this restaurant. After giving it some thought I had an ah ha moment and it finally dawned on me that of course it didn't taste as good as I remembered since no food tastes as good when you're not the least bit hungry. Duh, I should have figured that one out faster. So instead of rating my visit today on what I thought of todays sandwich I'm rating it on how happy I was on previous visits when I was hungry when I sat down to eat. This may not be fair to the restaurant since I'm old and forgetful so who knows maybe I should be giving it 5 stars instead of only 4. So to be fair to this place sometime in the next couple weeks I'll come back when I'm hungry and have another meal here and will update my review at that time. If you have a hankering for barbeque this is a good place to check out.

I had a bad experience, however if i went back again sadly i think it would be the same experience. I cook BBQ and love BBQ and try to check out different BBQ joints in the cities i travel to. Today I tried Ribs, Brisket, Pork&Beans, Mashed Potatoes, and Corn bread. Ribs - terrible - so dry and tough it was like jerky. To hide the dryness they were drenched in sauce. zero smoke flavor Brisket - tasted like roast beef not brisket. It falls apart, but is chewy like it has been boiling. No beautiful bark that good BBQ should have. It was sliced just sitting in a hot pan...not the way brisket should be. Pork & Beans...really thick with a very bland flavor Mashed potatoes - very thick and dry and cold...gravy was not homemade. Cornbread - this was the best thing i had of everything i tried. It was more like a corn cake than a bread due to its lightness and sweetness but it was good and cleansed my pallet.

This place, as far as bbq joints go, was okay. Customer service was excellent, but I wasn't too impressed by the food. It just seemed really really greasy (I had pulled pork). I have had bbq from Lexington, NC and Kansas City, MO, and bbq places there give you SO much more food for the same price. I was disappointed to see how little amount of food I got for the price I paid. When I get bbq, I'm used to having it take multiple sit downs for me to finish all the food, but here, I opened my styrofoam box and thought, "that's it?" My fiancé and I both agreed that it also didn't taste like it was cooked that day, not as fresh as we'd like. The cornbread was the best part.

This is definitely one of the best BBQ places around the lakeshore(agreed this area isn't the BBQ Mecca of the US). The brisket is always great, the chicken is also quite good. I get the Carolina sauce every time which is the bomb! The other sauces are OK, but not even close to the Carolina . The sides are kind of hit and miss: get the chili and the Mac and cheese. There is limited seating and not a great dine in atmosphere, so we usually get carry out! The staff is always nice and the food is reasonably priced.

I went here on a Sunday and was not impressed with the value. The food, (rib and chicken combo) tasted good, note the "rib" was just that, one rib! The sides were KFC quality and served in styrofoam. They don't serve alcohol so that affords them the luxury of employing kiddos that are sub 18 years of age, need I say more. For what they are charging they could have at least one adult behind the cafeteria line and serve more than ONE RIB in a rib and chicken combo for God sake! The place sits on a high profile intersection with open flame grills and smoke out front to draw in the traffic that passes by. I would not recommend this place for the fact that the owners must be penny pinching thrifty types In a wooden shoe town and serve as little food as possible.

I had been wanting to try this for a long time.. , as I live just under 2 miles away...and Friday (May 2, 2014) I had a incredible craving for BBQ. So I stopped in for some take out. They do have BBQ! Chicken, Sausage, Pulled Pork, Baby Back Ribs, Ribs and Brisket. Sandwiches and Dinners. I finally decided on the 1/2 Slab of Baby Back Ribs, with mashed potatoes and gravy and the corn cake. It was only $8.99 Good price, and was very yummy.. and generous. I had enough for 2 meals. It was very worth the $$, was just about as quick as driving through a fast food lane, and it was enough for 2. A co-worker of mine that was working in town recommends the Brisket Sandwich. Maybe try that next time. I recommend it.. and will be back again soon.

best ribs I've had in a long time! We were driving thru Holland looking for something great on a Monday night. It was about 7:30 p.m. and we tried the the Thai/Chinese place just to the north, but they obviously didn't wantto serve us, as they closed at 8 pm and they had a few other orders before us. So we found Hog Wild, and were really glad we did! Service was fast and friendly, bathroom was spotless and the ribs were perfect...falling off the bone w/ amazing sauce! Even the cole slaw was tasty, though I wasn't thrilled with the mashed potatoes- (different, and unexciting gravy.) After a long drive from Chicago, and before heading back, it was a nice treat to have a good meal. We'll go back when in the area again.

Horrible! The worst ribs I've ever had. Went in on a Friday evening and ordered a 1/2 slab of ribs with sauce on the side. Overcooked. Dry. Flavorless. Really, the worst excuse for ribs ever. I considered speaking to someone about it, but the kids behind the counter were young and otherwise preoccupied and frankly, I felt it would likely not make any difference. Awful.

I'd been hoping to try Hog Wild for a long time. It's always on my route to the beach, I love a good slow cooked BBQ, but I never seemed to make it a priority. After a family outing at Tulip Time (yes, enjoying the folksy Dutchness) we decided to find a picnic lunch for the beach. Enter take-out from Hog Wild. The very low rating I gave Hog Wild revolves around the food. I ordered the pulled pork, which for me, is the litmus test for good bbq. It tasted like it could have been thawed from a Gordon Food Service frozen pulled pork tray. I won't say that it was bad, but there was nothing special about it. It had no distinct flavor or spices, and I really couldn't pick up on any hints of smoke, which any meat from a bbq restaurant should have. It should be their signature, and it just wasn't there. I ordered the spicy bbq sauce, which had no spice. I actually couldn't distinguish it from my son's sweet bbq sauce. I didn't try the Carolina sauce, but wonder if they do a good vinegar based sauce that might redeem the bland pork. The sides were even more disappointing. They have a cold mac and cheese option for a side, which I thought was weird, but decided to try it. They weren't kidding about the cold part. There were ice crystals throughout the Styrofoam cup of pasta, again, with an incredibly bland cheese sauce mixture. It had what might have been pieces of bacon in it, but these were also cold, flavorless pieces of leather. The other side, mashed potatoes and gravy, tasted like instant or frozen mashed potatoes, and the gravy tasted canned. To top it off, the soda mixture was off, so the coke zero was way too sweet. You get the picture of my food experience. The bbq wasn't bad, but there was certainly nothing about it that was good. The reason that it didn't get one star from me was that the restaurant seemed very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. It seems like a place with potential, that isn't living up to it.

The only reason this place gets a star is because the hot link and carolina sauce had good flavor. Hands down the worst bbq Ive ever had. I love bbq and consider myself well versed in the field of bbq. I not only go new places to try it but I also like to go to competition to eat as well as compete. I ordered the ribs and brisket. I got one rib and seriously looked like a chunk of ham with a bone sticking out of it. With no evidence of a smoke ring or decent taste to speak of. As for the brisket it looked like a well done peice of pot roast with no evidence of smoke ring or recogonizable taste. As for the bit of hot link that I stole from my wife I was actually suprised I recognized the taste of sauage "shocker"! All in all dont waste your time and money horrible.

This BBQ is poor at best. The ribs were tough and dry, they were so far from fall off the bone that I had to use a sharp knife to actually eat them. The pulled pork my wife got was slightly more appealing if it wasn't for the oddly flavored sauce. And the WORST part is the Mac and Cheese... if you like Mac, don't dare trying theirs... if you can get past the under-cooked pasta then you're sure to suffer on the partially congealed bacon like meat that is mixed in. Please avoid eating here or you'll be as disappointed as I was.

This was our first visit and we studied the menu for options and made our choices. The misses picked her favorite, barbecue chicken. She was particularly impressed with the taste of the chicken, and found it satisfactory without sauce. Her potato salad was also good. My beef brisket, while tasty, was greasier than I expected. It combined well with a great Carolina vinegar and mustard sauce and complimented the Carolina cole slaw. A good meal, but not five-star spectacular. We'll try again on a day when specials appear as the meals are a bit pricy for the portions and the number of sides. We particularly liked the chicken, and watched some grilled out front in the same way we learned as youngsters in Georgia.

First off is a disclaimer. Michigan is hardly a Mecca for great BBQ and west Michigan even less so. I gave them 4 stars because it's the best BBQ I've had within a 100 miles. It's no salt lick BBQ or even Slows out in Detroit, but it is very good for the location. I are the ribs and ordered a pick three with the sausage, brisket and pulled pork all with the sweet BBQ sauce. I would not recommend the pulled pork sandwich as I noticed they just used run of the mill Aunt Millie's buns. I also got the mac n cheese and potato salad on the side. The potato salad was your standard boiler plate potato salad, but it was well seasoned and not over mayoed. The Mac n cheese was bland and the noodles were soggy and over cooked, even the bacon couldn't save this one. The meats were all very well made, smoky and well seasoned and very moist. The brisket was probably the best with a rich smoky flavor balanced with the very sweet sauce. (Note: the sweet BBQ May be overly sweet for some people) The ribs were also very good and fell right off the bone, they were heavily sauced and influenced by Kansas City BBQ for sure. They were very tasty. The sausage and pulled pork were both pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The sausage may be a little salty for some people and the pulled pork was just average. This was my first visit and I would definitely make a second and recommend this place. The service was friendly and fast. The prices were relatively cheap too. It's worth checking out especially because there aren't many BBQ places around here to try and this place knocks the socks off of tgi Fridays or any of those chains.

Got to try Hog Wild BBQ while I was in town on a little vacation. I had the 2 meat combo which was quite the deal for about 9 bucks. Pulled pork, brisket, potato salad, and corn bread. I have to say that the brisket was the shining star of that meal. It was seriously good!! I'm a bit of a pulled pork snob and the pork here didn't compare my favorite back in the D, but the brisket won me over. Their sweet sauce and the potato salad was also good. So go... get carry out... order lots of brisket... feel free to thank me later.

Just had our first visit and we'll be returning for sure! The brisket and hot links were delicious. The ribs were a little shocking...as they were SO meaty. Think meat lollipop! We enjoyed it so much, it had us thinking of getting another order to go even though we were full. The sides were good, but the corn bread could be better. Can't wait for our next trip

Hands down best BBQ I have ever had. Josh helped us decide cause we had never been here before. I got the pulled pork with sweet BBQ and a side of hog wild pasta. Wow blew my socks off. My husband got the beef brisket sandwich and an order of wings. This place tastes like the best home cooking you have ever had. Staff was super helpful and explained The menu for us. So inexpensive for such a wonderful flavor. Our new date night place! Please open in Grand Haven we need you! :)

Sean has it right. BBQ is definitely a regional thing and Holland, MI isn't actually a good region for good, homemade BBQ. Supposedly, though, the owner of this place is from Memphis or somewhere so he has A LITTLE sauce in his blood. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich with the Carolina sauce and it was pretty good. Next time I go there, I will have to try a different sauce. I had the corn bread as a side and it was pretty mediocre. Not homemade and served out of a steamer to keep it warm. It was pretty plain with no green peppers or anything to give it much flavor. Not the worst BBQ I've had, but not very authentic either.

Very good bbq in Holland. Not the world's best but certainly the best thing I have found in West Michigan. The carolina sauce is very good. Brisket is better than the chicken but both are good. If you are looking for bbq in West michigan. This is the place.

My 5 year old loves this place. We focus on the brisket and the ribs. I usually get sauce on the side, and enjoy the Carolina sauce. Kids like the sweet barbeque. We either get the order togo and eat at home or on the weekends we sit outside next to the grill. Service can be curt, but the food always shows up quickly so I let the bad service slide. We usually don't even get to the sides. I did try the mac and cheese once but cold mac and cheese doesn't do it for me.

My husband and I passed here while visiting Holland and decided to stop in for a taste. I had the pulled pork sandwich combo with the Carolina sauce. It was tasty but average. The corn bread as a side was decent. My husband had the 3 meat sampler of pulled pork, chicken wings and a hot link. It was a little disappointing as the meat did not taste seasoned at all. He had the pork and beans on the side, which were quite good. Another note - in most BBQ places I have been, you have the option of trying all their BBQ sauces. Here, you only got to choose 1 to go with your meal. In addition, the price was quite high. The guy behind the counter was very pleasant and informative.

I've not been to the actual restaurant, but we did eat at their weekly 'cookout' in the parking lot of the Ottawa Beach Inn. The menu here was very limited, but very good. I was a bit disappointed in the prices ($10 per person), the limited menu (basically, chicken or ribs), and the absence of any warm sides. Also, the BBQ sauce that they use really didn't stand out - very plain. I might go back and try their actual restaurant location, but I'd likely not revisit the Sunday cookout.

This is a fast food joint with styrofoam and platic. The pulled pork sandwich with spicy sauce was the favorite over the two meat combo. The cole slaw uses purple cabbage and had too much dressing for my taste. The bathrooms were spotless. The service was quick. This is a slightly better version of a fast food restaurant.

When you live up north, BBQ is not at the top of the food charts. I travel to Texas often and I know what good BBQ taste like. I have to give this place 4 out of five since it is good for the area. Staff is friendly and the service is quick. They cater which is nice and are cost effective.
